If u r on guild raid and not on ts = kick
If u r on guild raid with 20 players and 5of them are rangers, 3 mesmers, etc. = kick most of them
If he says he wants u all to go his builds(uniforms) and u dont want to = kick
if u dont like his leading = leave
If u dont like his personality or uniforms = also leave

If u dont like it and dont enjoy even guild raid with hardcore guild where u try hard, just leave

Im going to assume you’re the guild leader.

Have some grace about you, you’re a guild leader. You should feel privileged to have your members, not the other way around.

As for the OP. Its your decision, but I think you should leave this guild. They don’t sound very skilled if they think only a handful of professions are useful, and their attitude towards how they treat members just indicates they’re not worthy of your presence.

This is starting to upset me

Revenant: your weapons wishlist?

1. No greatsword. They’re ugly, the animations are petty bad, and they’re generic, everybody and their mother can use a greatsword. The only reason people want one is because they’re the generic meta weapon among the classes who can use them, and assume Revenant’s will be the same. Or they want it to slap their Twilight/Sunrise on (Which are also ugly for the record.)

2. Sword. From what we’ve seen so far in leaked footage and the trailer, it looks pretty nice.

3. Rifle. Nobody gets to use rifle. Engineers get to use them, which really is their only use, considering Warrior’s got nerfed into the floor at the end of last year. and Thief gets it now, but its still a sparsely used weapon.

4. Shortbow. I feel like Shortbows are underused in comparison to longbows, and Revenant strikes me as the profession that would be a very quick, front line fighter, that would be up in the enemy’s grill, so a longbow doesn’t really suit them in my opinion.

5. Offhand pistol. Rytlock.

Will HoT fix the disconnect problem?

Argon.1563

There are a LOT of problems associated with the servers. Mainly on the Europe servers.

Quite often, I DC, but all other programs on my computer that require an internet connection won’t disconnect, suggesting its an issue with ArenaNet’s servers.

If you email support about this, some of the responses they give are absolutely ridiculous. I emailed them, and they just told me to close and exit every single program and process on my computer, except GW2. (For those who can’t put two and two together, this includes my security system, therefore opening my computer to viruses.)

I wanted to email them back and say how foolish they were for suggesting that I do something that could potentially put me at risk, but that wouldn’t really accomplish anything, so I never replied.

I tried a few things to try and eliminate the problems, and this is what I came up with.

-Open the ports 80,443,6600 and 6112 on both your firewall and your router. I don’t believe this can cause security issues on your PC if you have a good security/firewall.

-Run the GW2 repair program. If you don’t know how to get the repair program, there is a guide in the Support section of the GW2 website, and theres a guide somewhere on this forum. After I done this, I noticed the amount of crashes significantly drop, from 8+ per day, down to 1 per day, sometimes none, suggesting that if part of your GW2 files become corrupted, it can cause crashes that masquerade as connection/server issues.

Question Regarding World Completion %

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Argon.1563

Argon.1563

If every open world PvE map shows 100 % (Southsun Cove, Dry Top, and Silverwastes not included), then yes, WvW maps are all you have left.

They all show complete!

Really not looking forward to WvW stuff, but I suppose a few minutes a day won’t hurt.

I hated doing the WvW completion. 2 weeks after launch, I had completed all of Tyria. 1 year and 2 months later, I had completed all of WvW.

Part of that is to do with the fact I avoided doing it because it takes so long, however, a very large chunk of that time is because Boarderlands are absolute bullkitten, and how they’re assigned each week.

Can Males get some revealing armor?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Argon.1563

Argon.1563

As a man, I feel that I am being objectified due to having my right to show skin restricted.

I feel that because I am not allowed to wear revealing clothes within an online game, I am being exploited and used by society to appease their view of what a man should be. This is done by forcing me to wear head-to-toe platemail armour, and therefore satisfying the sick and twisted view that men should be knights in shining armour. I find this view objectifies me, due to reducing me to a mere fantasy object to satisfy women’s imagination.

To ensure our society stays fair and equal, I believe my male characters should have the right to purchase, wear, and flaunt the Lord Faren brand of speedo, feely, and proudly in public. Even in winter. I argue this point because currently, female characters have access to many revealing armour sets such as the Lady Kasmeer brand of underwear, the Sailor Moon/Magical Girl cosplay, which all female light armour characters are given upon character creation, and the T3 Medium Human Cultural Armour Chestplate.

I fight this battle so my character can show their best assets, just as female characters can. Please support the masculine movement to abolish misandry and build a fairer society for all people, regardless of gender.

Character Slot for Heart of Thorns? [Merged]

We are completely unaware. The devs have been abnormally quiet about this topic, when its actually probably the most important thing to let the players know so they can organize finances and such.

3 of the 4 GW1 expansions gave character slots. Eye of The North did not, as it was the only expansion that didn’t release a new class.

So no word from the devs so far. I have gems ready for HoT’s release. If they don’t give us a new slot, I can buy a slot. If they do, I can buy something pretty.

Well for role play purposes, the story of a Charr prostitute slave might not work. If they are like the big land mammals, they likely go into heat and then at most, once a year. If they have long lived dependent cubs, it may only be once every 2 or 3 years. Since the males see the females as sexually attractive at that time, they may be completely uninterested in female Charrs at other times. By making a female Charr with a prostitute back history, your likely applying human sex roles to them, not Charr sex roles.

While I haven’t heard anything about prostitution among the Charr, they do have sex with strangers/people they’ve just met for enjoyment purposes.

and theres no evidence that Charr function like animals, having a heat period, in fact, theres more evidence to suggest the opposite. Just because they have fur and a tail, doesn’t automatically rubber-band them into the “animal” category.

Considering particular story events take place at designated points in time, certain Charr dialogue with each other suggests they’re willing to have sex all year round, and the fact the entire female Charr work force doesn’t take a few months off during the point every year to have cubs. Considering how they’re culture is structured, its highly unlikely for the same reason, as it would significantly diminish the amount of ground troops they have for battles. If they did have a heat period, and had to take a particular point of every year off for heat/birthing, their society would be structured differently to allow that.

Sorry for derailing thread, but this is a speculation that comes up a lot, and people just look at all the evidence suggesting against the idea of heat periods, disregard it, and go back to the idea of “Fur + tail = animal = animal sex logistics confirmed”, when its likely a lot more complex than that, fortunately.

Ultimately, if some RPers see ‘Harlot,’ and assume I’m a doofus who doesn’t understand charr lore, that’s fine by me. Most charr would see Asynda and consider her a doofus too XD

I think they’re more likely to look at it and think “Ah! Erotic Roleplayer! run away!”. Unless its one of those bordello guilds, which I think theres a few of now. Asynda would fit right in.

and Asynda sounds like a totally all right Charr name. Although a lot of people think “If an NPC doesn’t have the name already, it doesn’t count.”, ‘Asynda’ follows all of the naming conventions for female Charr, and it even sounds Charr. and its nice when people create their own names for characters that are believable. It alleviates from the onslaught of “Rytlock, Bonfaaz and Kalla” which feels like everybody and their mother has a Charr character named like that.

I really don’t want Greatsword for my Necromancer. I get that some people might have characters who suit GS, but my Necromancer doesn’t suit it, at all.

No axes. I don’t like the aesthetic of axes, they’re like a more cumbersome version of a sword, mixed with a dagger, that only moves in one direction, and doesn’t stab.

Staff ranger. I dislike the fact that ArenaNet immediately thinks everybody’s Ranger is a hippy who spends their time practising nature magic, and methodically planning the best way to violate plants. I won’t even specialize my Ranger, because I dislike the theme of the druid so much and it’s staff. Some people like to design characters outside of the cookie cutter generic stereotypical version of each profession.

Witch hunter like profession?

I played a Witchhunter in Skyrim also.

Ice Bow Elementalist isn’t a bad idea, but the Ice Bow has limited uses before it has to recharge, so you won’t get much use out of it. Ranger is you’re generic pet class. It also has the ability to use magic to summon even more allies. (Oddly enough, this build, referred to as “Spirit Ranger” is very popular, and effective.)

Ranger sounds like it would be more your cup of tea. Also, its a user of Medium Armour, so it will be easier getting the witchhunter look.

Some of the ones we’ve seen in the trailer are absolutely undeniable. (Such as Mesmer’s Shield), but there are some that are in debate, such as Thief’s Rifle, which was spotted in the trailer, but people argue it could be an Engineer with the rifle.

Does revealing the release date kill hype?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Argon.1563

Argon.1563

In theory, yes. In practise…not always, but sometimes.

The idea is, we know there will be a decreased amount of content coming into GW2 in the time between LS2 and HoT, so if players know the release date, they can easily think “Well, im gonna take a break until HoT comes, because im not missing anything.” but if they don’t know the release date, they will stay around to see what information comes up.

I personally, am sticking around anyway, to prepare my account for HoT. Clean out the bank for all those new items, get all my characters into ascended gear, ready to receive those juicy new skins, and maybe find a guild, if I can find something stable.

A good general rule to follow is unless it is a zone that has a world boss chain (like Wayfarer Foothills – Frozen Maw) then don’t bother with the zone event daily unless you feel like spending 8-15s porting all around to try to get tags on an event. For today’s daily, I just went into EotM at a reset and finished the daily in < 10 min and earned gold instead of losing it…lol.

I do EoTM for dailies also when time/waypoint money consuming dailies turn up. Gets it done in a nice time. I think the WvW dailies are probably the most well thought out. They’re a nice balance between time required and difficulty, whereas some of the PVE dailies can be a bit excessive.

We know they will be a locked weapon profession, like Elementalist and Engineer. Its been stated multiple times by devs, but their utilities are still up in the air.

They don’t announce them, we just find out when the blog post drops at the start of every week.

So far, this is what we’ve had, in order. Adventures/Maguuma then Gliding/Masteries and now Revenants.

I don’t think WvW is next, because ArenaNet announced that those attending EGX Rezzed in London will be given a preview there and then, and they’ve just done Revenants, so I suppose they won’t want to do Specializations next, to avoid having profession based content 2 weeks in a row. Its likely going to be Guild Halls or the challenging content next.

I personally think it will be the Challenging content, because Jon shown us the Legendary Wyvern in the Revenant POI stream, to possibly hint that it will be coming up next. (Even though I don’t think he was meant to show it, judging from Rubi’s face. You go, Jon.)

I suppose it depends on what legends its running. Jalis can give itself huge damage reductions, but it pretty much negates all of it’s offensive power in doing so, due to energy costs, so I suppose eventually it will just fall over and die if it decides not to change. Sheer DPS can break through it probably.

I’d imagine Mallyx being dealt with by either two scenarios: Constantly boon strip it with Thief or Necromancer so it’s own conditions eat it, or it panics in battle, presses all it’s buttons, and debuffs itself to the point where it shuts down via Weakness and Blind.

Revenant: 6 - 0 skills, do we get a choice?

Argon.1563

Although they never explicitly said this, they made it sound like they will be locked, and unchangeable, but there will be loads of different legends to cater for loads of different styles.

From all speculations there will be 4 Legends for revenant. There are 3 Traitlines: one for Mallyx, second for dwarf and third is profesion mechanism. So it’s obvious that last 2 Traitlines are made for another 2 Legends (offensive and healing).

I think they could possibly shoehorn multiple legends into 1 traitline if they change a few traits to make room. 4 legends seems a bit restricted to me. I would’ve liked a 5th legend for mobility, because the Revenant was rumoured to be as fast as the Thief outside of combat. I also would have liked something really unique to just the Revenant, because currently, all the legends seem to be rip-offs of other professions.

Leave it to dulfy. Good job guys.

Im just a bit concerned with how Revenant will effect other professions. Jalis seems to be Guardian on steroids, and Mallyx has a lot of skills that are disturbingly similar to Necromancer.

Ive also seen a few pictures of the traits, some of them are really overpowered, such as:
“When swapping legend (the equivalent of weapon swapping!) Break out of stuns
“When you activate a stun breaker, gain fury.”

Considering they’re allowed to swap legends every few seconds, Revenant is essentially immune to CC, and has perma-fury. Seems a bit overpowered, but its beta, hopefully it will get nerfed into something more realistic.
