Now you can make the quaggan mini pet in the mistic forge,combine 3 of any gem store minis and 250 stuffing.

Are you sure you can use the Gem store minis?

I know there are minis you can buy outright on the Gem store (plus griffon etc) and there are others that only drop in the boxes (snowman etc). I was under the impression that only the dropped minis combined with the stuffing would produce the Quaggan?

IMO – If they wanted to keep it rare, it should be a drop… not available via online gambling.

Killed by Unknown? - PvE bug

PvE Bug: “You were for 428 damage by Unknown using Explode”

I’ve been one shot by this 3 times in game now, once in Lions Arch when i was completing part of my personal story quest, and now twice in the Sylvari starting zone. I’ve submitted bug repots, but wanted to see if anyone else was getting one shot by “Unknown”?

Is this a bug, or some hacker causing grief? Seems a bit weird and out of place… plus i’ve never engaged a mob named “Unknown” who has one shot capabilities from stealth.

its really hard to take this kind of complaint seriously.
after playing an ele for a long while and reading all the “the ele is a kittens hole” posts and then finding that it really is a L2P issue and the ele is very competent when played well.
But there were a lot of posts very much like this one saying it was junk.

there were a couple of fairly minor issues that made the ele appear to be so terrible.

Being able to do absolutely nothing to stop an immediate stomp. fixed.
Bugs in ride the lightning making it a little unreliable. fixed.
even with these faults though people that could play the ele well did and could kill multiple wvw targets v 1 /
but that did not stop these kinds of posts.

Eles are a great class and really hard to kill (some anyway). I don’t think they are overpowered – they are well balanced.

Necros are not as bad as OP makes out, but they do need some urgent bug fixes and adjustments.

We really need a feasible burst DPS spec. Axe is pathetic and daggers require close quarters combat, which is not the place a caster should be.

What are the chances of have this available from the Gem store?

Spent $50 on boxes to get the 3 minis and all i got was a million woolen jumpers and a snowflake – don’t agree with this “gambling” method where people are using real money to get these in game features.

I realise it’s supposed to be rare, but surely there is a better way than this?

If it was $50 from the Gem store i would have bought it outright, rather than having a bank full of jumpers that i have no use for – i’ll just vendor these items.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

Lol, yeah everything you have mentioned needs to be looked at.

Necros are far from unplayable – they have a few cool things and are decent running with a zerg or coordinated group where you can stand back and lay down conditions.

There are a number of bugs and issues and re-adjustments that need to be made before they are on a level playing field with the rest of the professions. They make up the bottom 3, along with Ranger and Engineer.

Epidemic is bloody awesome.

The heal that feasts on conditions is probably the best heal in the game – forget the name of it because i haven’t played my Necro in so long (I have an 80 Mesmer now and the difference in WvW is ridiculous).

So all 10 of these thieves were able to coordinate their invisibility’s to move in on you without you noticing? Either they displayed magnificent coordination, in which case they deserved your head as a trophy, or you were looking at your map to see where the keep was and you missed them.

No mate, i was jumped by 2 and then the rest came in from the bridge to finish the job….

Avigrus: start paying more attention to your surroundings so thieves cant get the drop on you. If you see 10, take a different route? Why would you pick a fight with 10 guys?

I didn’t. I was running along towards a keep when i was jumped – they have invisibility.

They then hung around said keep, destroying everyone that came past.

The whole point of my original post is that we’re now seeing stealther mini-zergs – this is not a good sign.

I agree with the majority of your argument. I play a thief, and there are some “unbalanced” things with the class. The culling, combined with stealth gives the illusion of being perma-stealth (for the most part).

I disagree, however, with your second point. Do you really believe that the company/developer does not intend to do anything? Really? Do you think it’s that easy to just re-write codes that would change the dynamics of such a complicated game? Very rarely does a huge, amazing game (like this) comes out of production perfect—about that which the consumers have complaints. We can only wait, and with that said, they can only do so much on their end. I’m not saying they’re working like little elves in Santa’s factory the week before Christmas, but they are not sitting on their kitten But yes, there are some aspects about the thief class that needs some readjustments.

Just to explain why i feel this way.

My first level 80 was a Necromancer – there are so many bugs and issues with that class – people are posting these issues in the class forums – go and have a look. The developers don’t even acknowledge the issues such as broken pet AI, broken trait lines and only 1 viable spec that can be countered by every class in the game (condition damage).

I see developers posting in other class forums and discussing the issues about those classes and then the “big balance” patch comes out and none of the major Necro issues have been fixed, but the Mesmer phantasm issue was solved immediately, and other classes received a number of benefits.

The Necro pets have been broken since Beta… they just stand around and watch as the Necro dies..

Anyways… just a rant for this evening, because the developers don’t seem to be listening.

I think the point Papacooldown was trying to make is, would you really be saying the same thing if it were a group of 10 warriors or guardians?

I dont think you would. Thieves are in the spotlight at the moment due to culling and other issues, which makes them more of an obvious target when things like this happen.

Same can be said for any group of 5 Cover Girl…

Lets not forget that we would be able to see/avoid the group of warriors or guardians. There is no avoiding 10+ perma-stealth thieves.

A coordinated group of 10 anything will ‘decimate’ smaller groups walking by. Whining on the forums about this just makes you look foolish.

My point being, the class is so overpowered you now have a situation where this is happening.

I wasn’t complaining about the decimation part.

Today in WvW we ran into a group of about 10 thieves….. all hanging around the keep, just decimating anyone that came near. I’ve run into small groups of 2 or 3 before, but never so many – I’m not exaggerating the numbers either, there actually may have been more of them.

So it seems this really is turning into Thief Wars 2.

WvW is ridiculous – what are you doing about this?

Should we all just roll thieves? Can you let me know so I can start now and start saving mats for my exotic armour?

PvE is nearly dead because of FOTM and WvW is just pointless unless you’re following the zerg like a sheep.

Removing runes and sigils

You should be able to use a rune/sigil to copy over one that you don’t want on your armour/weapon. Also, via transmutation you can remove runes/sigils.

Why are thieves so hated?

Sometimes I feel the hate on thieves are just from people hearing other people whining and just copies them. I run a condition damage build on sPVP and I played against people who insulted me. Calling me a kitten thief and HS spammer when I didn’t even use it once. I mean, it was as if they hated me just for the sole reason that I’m playing a thief even though I don’t even do what people hate about thieves. It’s like some people heard thieves are OP and people hate them and decided to join the bandwagon.

Why condition? My first 80 was a Necro – conditions are horrible in this game. They are so easily removed.

I pray that A-net give Necro’s a viable burst damage option one day (axe is woeful).

I don’t think anyone is copying anyone. Why would someone take the time out of their day to come here and complain unless they really believed in what they were saying and wanted to express their opinions and effect some change?

The loot from Jormag is a joke anyway… the last 10 – 15 times all I’ve received is blues/greens.. better drops off trash mobs.

Why the hell would A-net make this event such a joke and waste of time. Dragons should drop decent loot – this is the way thing should work. Loot encourages people to spend 30 minutes fighting… the event is not changing or getting any better so why the hell else should we participate in this event?

In summary, people are fine with 100b warriors killing them in 1.5 seconds for the same reason that they aren’t fine with BS thieves killing them in 1.5 seconds, it all has to do with how the human brain processes a surprising event and kicks into action.

I absolutely agree. However, I think there is an extra level of hate in this particular game because Thieves can reset that surprise state nearly at will.

If you dodge the Warrior’s Bull Charge, you can limit the amount of damage and retaliate, putting pressure on the Warrior. Or even if you were surprised by it, you can still stun break and not eat the entirety of 100B, and you are then able to retaliate and put pressure on the Warrior.

If you time it perfectly and dodge the invisible Backstab, and avoid most of the Heartseekers, the Thief then just hits 5, or 6, or whatever SR or BP are bound to, and resets. You are able to retaliate only in a very limited fashion, if you have an attack that will fire without a target or some AE.

Thing is, i can see the warrior coming… if i’m stupid enough to stand still i deserve what i get. If he manages to kill me, i have no qualms with that.

Don’t mind loot, but stuff you buy with Gems (real money) should never be RNG – it’s called gambling. I have no issue with gambling, but remember it’s not just adults that are playing this game.

We have pages and pages of bugs, issues & suggestions and there is no communication with the Necro community whatsoever.

Customer Support tells us to post our issues here, but what’s the point in that if they’re just being ignored.

Now having 3 level 80s, i can confidently say that the Necromancer is not even in the same ball park (especially compared with my Mesmer).

Not asking for immediate buffs, just some communication to let us know where we stand.

That sounds like broken mechanics. The majority have spoken. If people thought the thief class was ok..this thread wouldn’t be this long.

And if I don’t stand up, this thread will continue to get trolled by QQ because you can’t learn to play.

As far as the majority you claim, bull kitten.

All those that can’t deal with a thief, you need to learn to play. It isn’t that hard to counter. If thieves were all that you people actually claimed, I wouldn’t be thinking about a warrior or guardian.

ANet is doing a fine job at balancing. They have listened to the complaints of what is wrong with the class and are working to address those issues. Hopefully, pistol gets a little bit more love.

QQ and learn to play is a completely valid argument for dealing with invisible people that hit as hard or harder than any other class and are able to disappear whenever they want – you’re just scared of having your god-mode turned off. Something needs to change – If A-net aren’t capable of fixing the stealth/rendering bug then they will need to change something else.

Thieves are all over WvW now, my guild mates are re-rolling thieves – it’s ridiculous.

What’s disappointing is that there are some players of thieves that can’t look at this subject objectively and admit there is a problem.

I’m not suggesting wholesale nerfing of the class. I don’t even have an issue with the DPS, but something about the stealth & escape needs to change for the good of the game.

No communication. They ask us to post issues/problems here and there is no acknowledgement whatsoever.

All the bugs and issues in this game and they focus on underwater combat and remove something that was cool – is this some sort of joke?

Often guildies want to show off some cool armour that they obtained – where is the harm in this?

Does anyone know how to get in contact with a developer so they can address these issues, or are they just going to ignore us and hope we go away?

I tried asking the customer service team to get the devs to pay attention to minion bugs in this game and this was the response;

The right thing to do here is to continue expressing how we feel to arenanet, send the message anyway you can. In this case, all they can do is listen to our criticism, and the more criticism there is, the better the chances for a reaction.

Call me stubborn as a mule, but I refuse to give up. You don’t get to play a necromancer in every game you pick up and I’m willing to fight for this rare to play class.

And seriously? They have the nerve to keep reanimator? Reducing the de-regen is not the issue with the jagged horrors, its the fact that they are <b>Utterly Useless.</b>

They don’t listen to anything – they tell people to post concerns or issues on this board then proceed to ignore every thing that is raised (even legitimate bug complaints).

At least when i played DAOC, there were staff on the boards responding to paying customers and acknowledging their existence.

After this “big balance patch” it is clear that not only do the devs not play necro to know what is wrong, they honestly don’t give a kitten about this class. How about some changes to make more than the LOL condition spam viable. How hard is it to take any of the forum posts over the last month into consideration. What about your broke kitten lifesteal mechanic? Blood magic is so useless atm how does this not even come onto the radar?

Meanwhile, they’ve buffed thief stealth – are you kittening kidding me? It takes me a minute to dish out the kind of damage a thief can do in about 1.5 seconds. I don’t understand what just happened.

Spam autoattack, pbaoe, move diagonally around keeping your back difficult to face, keep turning do they can’t focus on your back. Etc.

I’ve watched a number of videos with many classes playing their classes well and roflstomping over thieves. I really think most people really suck at pvp and would rather blame game mechanics over their own incompetance.

No i don’t think i’m a great pvper either. I suck at it and realize that when i die it’s because i suck and not come up with lame excuses.

It’s not a lame excuse, it’s another bug in a long line of bugs that have been in this game since launch.

I’ve been killed by invisible thieves on a number of occasions – this is not a level playing field and it needs to be fixed.

Wait till you get the risen mobs that pull you…. running through Cursed Shore trying to reach a skill point and being pulled everywhere by Scorpion clones… most annoying thing ever.

Well..
I play a mesmer.
I agree with you.
But i’d rather them rework the scepter first,
I think mesmers are the only class that have a really really really kittenty weapon.

You should read the Guardian forum and see how they feel about the scepter.

Necros are probably in the worst shape. 1 viable build, broken minion AI, bugs galore etc..

Playing the 80 Mesmer in WvW makes me realise how rubbish my 80 Necro is… :-\

It’s probably boring because it’s the same content over and over again… i’m having the same issues leveling up my 3rd and 4th characters (Warrior lvl 22, Ranger 40). Already have the Necro and Mesmer at 80.

I have asked on here about how to deal with stealth thieves before and all people said was “use AoE”.

Either read their stealth and track/kill them,
