Your build is also meh and staff is not a DPS weapon.

I dont Raid. Im a WvW Player and this gets really out of hand.
You have a 20 Man Group who is full zerk gear full dps build.
They go -110% dmg reduktion for 5 seconds ans kill you in 2-3 seconds. You cant do anything because they take no dmg.
How do you know that they are in full zerk? How do you know that they’re running the meta completion you claim? Could it possibly be because they’re better rather than running some “god mode”?
Also, damage reduction modifiers don’t stack. They are multiplicative.
So how is it possible than that a full zerk Nec does only hits around 50 dmg hit.
Btw you see the food, prot , frost aura, rite on the buff bar……
Not all people run Scrapper rune but hey free 7% more. When every single hit they do does more than 7k (all hits) than they are most likely full zerk or close to it.
Or they have might stacks and they debuffed you. What is your exact build on your necro and what were you using?
Here’s a recent discussion about damage reduction modifiers.

Its so funny when all your skills do less than 100 dmg ;I
I doubt you have those stats.
25 might 25 stacks bloodlust + 100 from WvW guild aura BOOM 3700 power
You’re not running full berserker in that link. It also shows you have 2600 power.

HoT is easily possible to “solo” – in the sense you can run around and progress. Even with a staff elementalist. But realize you will have to join in for the meta events. You don’t have to party up for them until you hit Dragon’s Stand — but then you will be invited to party to do the big runs. As for HoT personal story you can do that solo right up to the very end…where for most players you will need help.
Easily soloable even with a staff elementalist? I would love to see that done easily because I tried that. It is not easy and is barely possible at all. Sure, I ran from point to point and survived, some of the time.
I agree that the story is soloable until the end though.
I’ve done it with every class and in glass armor. The final story instance can easily be done solo.
10,000 units is 10 seconds walking. I doubt it.
There are events where you don’t move as much. I’ll give one example although there are many more. You have the bosses at the blighting towers in DS. People often take more than 5 minutes to kill them. Imagine your suggestion gets implemented and the entire boss group gets kicked from the map unless you expect them to now kite the boss so they don’t get kicked.
If 10,000 units only takes 10 seconds, then someone can just come back every 4m50s.
You can’t put an auto attack on auto without a mob killing you before you kill it. HoT maps, not vanilla.
You can on some but I was not referring specifically to auto attack which was why I stated skills/utilities.
Criticism is a good idea when you can actually make a valid point.
Less insults please. You wanted constructive conversations and that comment is hardly such.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
- Within 3 minutes the person hasn’t used at least 10 skills (including auto-attack).
They can just put a skill/utility on auto.
- Within 5 minutes the person has not traveled at least 10,000 units.
Would cause a lot of people who are actively contributing to be kicked out.
We need more ways to get these things.. at such a high demand from it’s requirements.. and hardly any reliable way to get them…
The only other alternative is to buy them at 700+ Gold which no one but the big money ballers want to do.
It’s barely 500G. The cost to craft the three legendary weapons is relatively similar to what it costs to craft similar high demand legendary weapons from the original set (Twilight, Bifrost, etc). Compare prices to before HoT was announced and they’re practically even.
You will be required to own HoT as well as log on at some point when a particular LS episode is active to unlock it. What I haven’t seen is whether HoT is required to unlock the episode.
Wait, I’m sitting at 392, what did I miss?
I don’t care so much about the lost gold from levelling if it means that decorations and other recipes are made more affordable
Scribing costs were too high so they are working to reduce them. This likely means decorations will be cheaper too.
The OP isn’t complaining about megaservers though. As far as I can tell he’s complaining about an event being nerfed. The mega server argument is an old one.
They weren’t but the destruction that they were talking about started with megaservers. One could argue that the majority of the destruction of the PvE communities came from the megaservers and all the nerfing of the gerent event did was remove the temporary community of players who would consistently work together attempt after attempt to beat that meta event.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Why? It can act as a merchant.
I brought this up when we were still in beta. Since they didn’t make any noticeable changes, I guess what we see is what they intended.
On that note, how is the average Joe supposed to figure out that Troll’s Revenge exists? Is he just supposed to get lucky with a few jumps and then assume he can go further?
Doesn’t the UI point to those? If not, perhaps it should.
There will likely be a blog and/or stream showing them off. Unless they sneak it into tomorrow’s stream, it probably won’t be until the next major update (March?).
….the game is in a great space as it is….
Lol.
How may full servers in NA are there? How many new servers did Anet have to add to handle the swarm of new players attracted the the wonderful HoT expansion?
Do you have any inside info related to server capacity? Can you confirm without a shadow of a doubt that Anet did not increase overall server capacity?
Megaflow system neglects the need for more servers anyway.
Try again.You’re rich.
Lets suppose that the game is wildly popular and has attracted so many new players that Anet had to revise the server capacity! The servers a overflowing with new players! There are queue times just to get into the PvE maps! All is wonderful!
Don’t you think they would advertise it???
I mean seriously, if your servers are being flooded by a huge influx of new players, because the expansion is so fun, this is exactly the type of news that you shout from the roof tops!
Two rules of logic in the absence of available information.
1) Occam’s Razor
2) Law of the Excluded MiddleLook’em up.
What you see on the server screen is based on active WvW players. It has nothing to do with the number of players who are on that particular server. Just because a server showed full prior to that change, doesn’t mean that the server was actually full. All it meant was that it had reached the threshold that Anet designated to show full.

The parties in question are satisfied, let it go already
No. This is not about the fact that the OP and Anet are both happy with the outcome of this situation. This is about the fact that Anet first attempted to strip the OP of both gold and items, and hoped he wouldn’t complain about it. It is only because of the uproar on Reddit that Anet was forced to go beyond sending him “We’re right, you’re wrong” e-mails and actually do something to rectify the situation in a manner that is fair to the OP.
This is a serious issue that needs to be resolved on Anets side, and other players, as well as potential players, have a right to know that this sort of unethical practice takes place at Anet. You’re making the assumption that Anet knew they were wrong the entire time which doesn’t appear to be the case.
I think the problem is that Support made the assumption that they were right the entire time, and failed to actually look at the facts that the OP gave them to show that they were wrong in spite of multiple back and forths on the issue, then Support closed the discussion down.
Probably. The aspect of the poster’s post that I was arguing against is that Anet knew they were wrong the entire time and ignored the OP while knowing that.
You can change stats on Asc weapon too with some things that cost like 10g top in Mystic Forge. On top of that you will use 90% of the time your primary stats.
Changing stats was a new thing added. Refer to the other thing that I mentioned which is skins.
3000g for skin is pretty expensive O.o
None of the legendary weapons cost that much if you craft them. The older ones rarely go above 2000G. In some cases, they go much cheaper if you craft the precursor. The HoT legendary weapons are around 2300G. That said, people have felt the cost to be worth it as many people have legendary weapons and plan to make even more.

Look, If the OP never went to reddit this would have never gotten resolved and the OP would have still been ‘in the wrong’.
THAT.IS.THE.POINT!
Which isn’t what the person I quoted was saying. I was responding specifically to them and not to the discussion of this thread.

Has anyone compared the cost to craft any of the new legendary weapons using buy order prices from beginning to end and then compared it to core Tyria weapons with similar demand (e.g. Bifrost, Juggernaut, Twilight, etc)? How about just the precursors of both sets versus the legendary gifts?

You get the weapons for the skins and/or the ability to swap stats.
You probably got them from a karma merchant, WvW vendor or as level up rewards. All those things can’t be salvaged or sold to stop players (easily) turning badges, karma and XP into gold.
Check if you can throw them in the Mystic Forge. Some you can, some you can’t. If you can’t then you should just delete them.
Things bought with badges can be salvaged now, including ones that were bought before the change. They salvage into badges.
Can you get the sigil a back?
Edit: Nevermind.

they didn’t give the gold back.
I am they. I assure you; I did. =)
Thank you the information. It was very disturbing to think that the trading post was not a safe place to sell items and that ANet could remove gold and not restore items from innocent accounts, unless a fuss was made as shown on that thread. Perhaps you should go back to that thread and state exactly what was finally done and what the policy is for items bought with RMT gold as the thread ended without this information being clear.
And this is why these situations shouldn’t be posted on Reddit of all places. Now you have to spend EXTRA time to fix the situation that has already been dealt with.
complete time waste.
Or….
It’s an opportunity for them to clearly state the policy regarding RMT transactions and when accounts will be sanctioned. As far as I know this has never been stated and unless openness and clarity is bad, then this is a good place for them to get their message out.
They cannot even agree on a refund policy, what makes you think they can agree on a RMT/TP policy?

I’d read the OP’s response two posts above this. It’ll shed some light on what the problem was.

Rev will still be viable (borderline optimal)
rev will be stronger than before.
How? Their sword auto is getting nerfed
Apparently sword #2 is getting a very large damage buff but will only be single target.
It would have been nice to be able to sell those items you get from leveling up even if it’s only for 1 copper.
Gem Refunds
If you purchased Guild Wars 2 Gems from the Gem Store and would like a refund, please submit a request to our Support team within 30 days of the purchase and provide the following information:
- The amount of gems purchased.
- Your billing zip code or postal code.
- If the payment was attempted by credit/debit card, please provide ONLY the last 4 digits of the credit/debit card used.
- If the payment was attempted using PayPal®, the invoice ID from your PayPal® payment history for the transaction.
Note: If you have used the purchased gems, you may not be eligible for a refund.
http://help.guildwars2.com/entries/27697743-Refunds
They’ll refund you for what you directly purchased with your money (i.e. Gems) but not what you decide to do with them. There may be exceptions but it seems those are on a case-by-case basis.
Yep. I was very disappointed when they nerfed Gerent to the ground. People don’t even have to try anymore and still win. If a lane is slacking, just Zerg it at the end. Perhaps if they didn’t have the mistward helm collection item, as you said, we’d still have the amazing boss encounter we had when HoT launched.
IMO, the community aspect started to go away with the megaservers. Each server had its own community of players which got uprooted when megaservers went live. It’s now all about guilds which puts those who are not part of a large guild, or don’t want to be in one, at a disadvantage.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I would’ve bought HoT if it was available without the base game and I could just buy the expansion for 30-40 bucks. Right now I’m waiting for it to go on sale otherwise I don’t think it’s worth the money
The core game doesn’t come with HoT. It’s only an added bonus for new, or F2P, accounts where essentially the restrictions are removed.
classes becoming more and more similar…
This is actualy the saddest part of HoT.
I can’t find any elite spec I really enjoy like I did with my shatter mesmer ( prior june patch) or my rifle engie.
It’s all about passive procs, boon farting, and power creep. It’s fun in pve, not in pvp or wvw.It was easy to see this coming, with the changes made to Traits last summer.
This was driven by Anet’s 100% commitment to eSport/PvP. It’s much easier to balance 10 builds than 50. I’m sure that any new Trait Lines issued in further expansions will only narrow build diversity even more.
That’s a little backwards unless you’re referring to optimal builds rather than builds in general. But then, optimal builds were always limited to begin with because they were optimal.

Most is not all like in core Tyria. The entire map of Dragon Stand proves this out. It’s zerg or go home.
The events outside the escorts can be done solo. If there weren’t champions in the escorts, those could probably be done solo. When I said most, I was referring to events.
A caveat does not make something less true. Even attempting to say Dragon Stand can be soloed is beyond the pale. You know this. But let’s talk about the other maps? You think the meta can be advanced to completion solo? How about any of the metas?
Exactly. Trying to say the maps can be soloed, even the events, is moot is the end still requires multiple zergs to complete.
Again, let’s not kid ourselves. It’s not solo friendly overall. The map wars and taxing again prove this out.
You list an entire map as not being solo friendly when it’s only a few events that make it so. It’s as if you’re claiming that the Orr maps are not solo friendly because the temple events require a group to complete. The only events in DS that are not really solo friendly are the escorts along with the towers and final boss.
Other metas in HoT? How many metas in core Tyria require more than one person to complete? I guess those maps are not solo friendly either.
I am in no way saying that DS can be soloed. Nor was I saying other map metas could be soloed entirely. If you took the time to read my entire post then you would have seen that. If you did read my entire post then stop making up arguments and claiming they came from me.

You can still solo most of HoT like you could core Tyria. Yes, there will be some events that require more players as there’s normally a champ involved. No different that some events in core Tyria including those in Orr. Only 21/XX hero points can be done solo in HoT but that’s more than enough to unlock the elite specializations when couples with HP’s in core Tyria.
I clicked that link and put in a character name, and it says I haven’t unlocked any armor, even though I have complete sets of most of the armor on that list. I dunno…I’d like the flaming dragon sword but I haven’t played GW 1 in so long I wouldn’t have any idea where to start. It says I’m two points short.
You would have had to unlocked the monument and submit the armor to it while wearing it.
I believe the only point that was difficult to figure out was the one in Ogre lane. Perhaps if they added one or two points between the ogre lane one and the previous then it would make more sense to people.
You can get 50 slots right away. The rest are likely unobtainable for you as the next tier requires a guild level of 20.

I’m against it as well as many others are too. Those rewards are for those who dedicated their time in GW1.
I think the sword only required you to have 10 points. This is fairly easy to obtain even with a brand new account.
Is this based on real quarterly sales? No.
This is a prediction by a third rate analist firm who have never in all those years predicted something right.
The only effect this sort of posts have is atracting trolls, who go all doom and gloom, like they Always do.
Well they did predict the expansion. It only took them claiming it with nearly every report since the game launched until they were eventually correct.
We’ll find out what really happened the second week of next month.

Getting the currency for those insignias is very easy. A full meta cycle will easily bet you twice what you need. Getting 150 airship parts, Aurillium, and ley line crystals isn’t that bad.
or u can mine for them and help cool the ore market down
I’ll get right on that as soon as you show me a reliable supply of ori nodes.
Of those only 1 is reliable.
The southsun spawn in the karka hive. The others require investing time running the maps/using gw2nodes (and praying someone already updated that IP).
It’s slightly problematic. It would be nice to see the return of a permanant rich ori node somewhere less abused than southsun, say in a hot map, at the end of a meta or something.
How that any different from any other farm?

I’d really like to be on a map that just once does the blighting towers by doing the full mechanics rather than circle zerg it.
Anyway, yes I do wish more people would WP.
What do you mean by this?
There are pods below with their own preservers. The theory is that these pods are what spawn the endless mobs that run up the ramps when all the collectors are up. Without those mobs, you can maybe a handful of the normal spawns that exist around the collectors including the preservers.
Many investors projected Star Wars to surpass Avatar in ticket sales. This is likely not to happen although it came close. Was Star Wars a failure?
I assume you mean worldwide since it will blow past Avatar by $200M domestically. It’s guaranteed to overtake Titanic but Avatar’s $2.7 B is a big number to overcome. Not sure why foreign countries liked the giant smurfs so much.
Yeah. I was referring to worldwide.
