I sculpted the most glorious and epic diorama for that contest. It was the most amazing sculpture of Mad King Thorn’s noble steed Gum Drops. However, I misplaced it and lost it forever. =(
For anyone unfamiliar with Mad King Thorn’s sense of humor way back when, here is a link to a challenge mission in GW1: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Scarred_Psyche
There is some very good banter back and forth between him and Palawa Joko.
In regards to the Sigil of Night, I believe this is a pretty good addition. +10% dmg makes it the sigil for just straight overall damage boost, which is the theme of these Halloween stats: more raw unadulterated damage!
I can see why the “at night only” would turn people off, but it makes the sigil balanced. I get a huge feeling that people will learn to respect these. I’m assuming that the Mad Realm and all Underworld related realms are perpetually at night. Wouldn’t that alone make this Sigil more amazing?
I don’t see the jewelry as useless. It’s just a new stat combination focused on raw damage increase. This may not appeal to your character’s playstyle, but it can give hybrid builds a much needed boost without sacrificing magic find.
If the bottom line is that the rare mats are relatively cheap currently, then that is probably a good thing. I’m sure Anet intended for these mats to stockpile in great quantities in the trading post during Act I so that all players can have access to them. When the other Acts involve additonal ways to use these mats, the supply will go down and drive the price up. If Anet released every single use for these items during Act I, we might have seen an opposite effect and people would be saying how expensive and rare these mats are. I prefer the way things are going now.
With what we know about the current uses for candy corn, I don’t think the price will go up for a long while. However, there will most likely be additional uses for it in upcoming Acts. Depending on how much candy corn we will need for these, the price might actually just stabilize anywhere between 4-10c.
1. No
2. No.
I just use the free ones dropped/given. Maybe if they were like 25 gem each but even then I’d gold => gem for that.
3. Yes.
I have yet to spend another dollar, yet I can see myself giving into the temptation if a truly awesome skin appealed to me and it was affordable. Even then, I would probably do my best to mostly gold => gem for it. I see myself spending at most $20 USD for something amazing. Just make it account bound.
4. Yes.
Before this event, BLC just didn’t make people want to buy keys. Anything from BLC that is a limited skin should be tradeable even if there is a way to instant buy.
5. No.
I just feel Anet is missing out on profits, ironically, with the current set up. Hopefully this thread and others like it will show this. Maybe Anet wants to be more lenient but NCSoft needs “data and proof”.
6. N/A.
I didn’t use any keys this event. I did make 2 MKC and got Halloween mats, which was expected and more of a bonus.
7. No.
If only I had more real money to throw around or the gold =>gem ratio was a tad lower.
Actually there were 16 ToT bags in LA, so it was exactly half. =P
You must be missing the 5 from the diving board.
I believe the issue is that there are multiple overflow servers for Lion’s Arch. Much more so then any other area in the game. The exploit occurred due to this fact. Players were in a “new” version of LA which acted like a new area when they went from one overflow server to the next. I think global resets are area based, hence why this wouldn’t have been a decent solution.
The bright side is that there are still 16 other ToTs to be gathered per character per day for a total of 80 in Act 1.
Removed ToT locations in LA... why??? Fix broken things instead, pls...
Posted by: BowmasterSol.3457
But anyway, doesn’t ANet know about overflow servers? Are they know restricted from implementing events or whatever they decide, because there are overflow servers and people that abuse them?
That doesn’t seem a fair point to serve a reason for doing this or similar things…
I partially agree with this. It is an oversight on their part, but they fixed it as soon as they caught on what was happening. This is the first time they’ve utilized nodes in Lion’s Arch, and this wouldn’t as easily replicate on their testing server because you need a large population of people to get the multiple overflows along with people having the intent to exploit.
The good news is that Anet is now very aware of the consequences for making such nodes in Lion’s Arch and should be better prepared in planning for future events.

i disagree with mike, i thought those ToT hidden locations where on an 30-1hours timer. i thought they where meant to be used and farmed and shared with your fellow friend and guildies. i only knew of like 4-5 locations that didnt even work every hour. it was very fun for me and friend to just chill in LA and get some goodies every know and then, i thought this was how halloween was meant to be. i guess Anet didnt plan for this which says to me either thye are extremely unorganized, not ready to make the event public or are just being lazy in developing. either dont give us this stuff or leave it there. seriously its just ruining the fun of the game.
The locations were not on a short timer. They were on a daily timer. The only reason why it may seem the LA locations were quick to respawn was due to the different overflows. You can test this difference versus ToT locations in other Krytan areas. It was not intended for people to exploit this and gain ungodly amounts of ToTs in such a limited time frame.
There were 32 ToT bags worth throughout Kryta with 16 being in LA. You can still get 16 ToT bags per character per day for a total of 80 on a basic account. This is still quite a lot and actually is intended and non-exploitative. New acts will most likely increase this total, so for every 1 ToT bag added your total per day will increase by at least 5.
I believe the pumpkins are on a daily reset. The reason why you may get multiple carvings in LA is due to the many different overflows.
Mega Skeleton- All the Suspicious Locations that you can find using your Candy Meter are always triggered by the same frequency for each spot. If you get a strong reading on your meter, then that means you are somewhat close to a location (though still possible to not be close enough to reveal on scan). An example is the diving board in LA. You will always use the aqueous frequency for that specific location to reveal. I hope this helps.
In regards to posters on this thread, I believe it’s really the opposite. Perhaps as you scrolled down you noticed a lot of keywords usually associated with negativity, but it’s just people saying how they are being more positive. xD
Foronisus – Unfortunately, we don’t know the specific time. We can only speculate based on Act I’s release. Act I started around 8:30 PST if I remember correctly. I am unsure how that relates to your timezone, but I would expect something similar to this. Another way to get a good estimate is to look at the event progress bar in Lion’s Arch. I believe an event leading into Act II will start when this bar meets completion.
The latest hotfix just removed the Personal ToT bags from Suspicious Locations in Lion’s Arch. This is mostly due to people farming great quantities of ToT bags by switching overflow servers and relogging in Lion’s Arch. This was not an intended method for players to get more ToT bags.
All the other ToT bag locatons in Kryta are working. The exploit mentioned previously only worked in Lion’s Arch, so luckily we have still have 21 ToT bags per character per day.
The latest patch has removed the Personalized ToT bags from LA. It seems all save the 5 you gain from the diving board have been removed. This may be due directly to the exploit of LA overflow hopping and relogging.
Stanucz – I highly doubt it. I read that superior recipe was a possible drop, but this isn’t 100% fact. It may just be that only the major recipes are available from the ToT bags. I do know that Superior Rune/ Sigil from this event can be crafted via mystic forge. If I find that the bags do not have a chance for Superior recipes then I will edit that later.
Kaderin- I mentioned the diving board specifically in a separate post, but didn’t go into as much detail when I restated it. I probably should have. You need to go to the diving board in LA and use aqueous frequency at the very edge to activate a location. Follow the prompt after triggering. =)
I would like to thank everyone for their compliments and constructive criticism. I saw a lot of people getting very upset mostly due to not fully understanding the event. I have decided to do my best to make additional threads for future Acts as they arise. You guys have gotten me motivated to do so. Thank you and enjoy!
Could someone explain this personalized trick-or-treat bag thing? I am so confused as to what this is and how it is different from the normal trick-or-treat bags that are dropping off of monsters.
Personal ToT bags are soulbound. That is the only difference that I’ve noted. I also believe they can not be used to as a crafting mat like the regular ToTs for artificer potion making.
I address Personal ToT bags in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/Halloween-Act-1-Informational-Aid-With-ToT-Locations/first#post528360
cherrie – The recipe for the gifts needed to craft the new weapons are obtained via a Mystic Forge specific input: 250 candy corn + 40 Elonian Wine + 10 Piles of Crystalline Dust + 100 X Halloween Rare Crafting Mat
Zyava – You need to have all 6 books in your inventory and then talk to asura magister npc that gave you the Candy Meter. Select the option to turn in your books and she will mail you your reward. =)
Sabin – Thank you for that link. This is basically what I was alluding to in previous posts and it’s great there is a picture guide for it. I’m also excited that I found them all with a friend and didn’t miss any.
In regards to the crafted weapons again, I am reading that the actual creation may utilize Superior Sigils of Night. Each of these sigils require 100 candy corn to make, and currently the wiki states you need 20. Once I see this finding backed up by a good number of the community, I will edit the original post as needed.
IF this is the case, you will need an additional 2000 candy corn per weapon for an additonal total of 6000. While this increases the amount we need by a lot, candy corn is still a readily accessible mat to acquire. We also have to keep in mind this is Act 1 and Superior Sigils may be gained from new sources other then crafting.
The answer is yes.
When the event ends, so does your chance at getting Halloween exclusive crafting mats. All recipes via Mystic Forge and Crafting will remain in the game.
For all 3 gift recipes, you need a total of 750 Candy Corn, 100 Clattering Skulls, 100 Plastic Fangs, and 100 Nougat Centers. For specific aid on how to casually gather these mats, see the thread : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/Halloween-Act-1-Informational-Aid-With-ToT-Locations/first#post525173
Oh and I just looked this up, seems like that device you used to complete the Halloween Act 1 event can be used to get you trick-or-treat bags as well.
http://gw2.mmorpg-life.com/use-candy-powered-matter-meter-to-get-trick-or-treat-bags/54312/
This is true. I find that THIS is the best way to obtain candy corn and crafting mats in general. I have put the location of ToT bags found in the Scavenger Hunt in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/Halloween-Act-1-Informational-Aid-With-ToT-Locations/first#post525173
The Scavenger Hunt is completely worth it. The Act 1 reward is a unique skin back armor item.
This gives your low level characters access to an armor slot that they wouldn’t normally gain until much higher level.
There are also at least 32 ToT bags to claim per character per day in Act 1. I created a thread that also includes these locations here:
I purposely didn’t mention the Elonian Wine as I felt this falls into the other crafting mats portion for the weapon recipe. I wanted to concentrate just on what is needed from Halloween. Each Elonian Wine is 25 silver 60 copper, for a total cost of 12.4 gold, and can be bought anytime. I believe they were doing this to make it comparable in price to the other gifts, which cost 10 gold to buy the recipe.
The 5 sites I refer to are the sites hinted at in the Mad Memoires for the Scavenger Hunt. Each book gives you a hint on the location of 2 sites. These Personalized ToT Bag locations I mentioned are in the general area of these sites. They will utilize their own particular frequencies to find them, and do not necessarily share the same frequency as the ghost themselves.
I will list the ToT bag locations that I know of:
Site 1: In the sewers T section near the entrance for Order of Whispers of Lion’s Arch. Use gaseous frequency there. A mist ghost will emerge from one end of the T intersection to the other. As he travels, 3 Suspicious Locations will appear each giving you one ToT bag for a total of 3.
Site 2: In the post, you earn 5 doing the diving board. As soon as you are in the ocean, swim towards the left Lion statue. There is a suspicious activity there (corporeal?) which then activates a location on the right Lion statue for 4 ToT bags (press 4 times).
Swim towards the old LA fountain and use aqueous frequency at the top of it for a location. Activating this triggers 4 other locations that spout below for ToT bag each.
Site 3: At the entrance to the graveyard, there are two angel statues. The left angel statue has a location (ethereal?) which activates for the right angel. 4 ToT bags from the right angel.
This next one is a bit tricky. Further ahead is a court of graves. On the rightside should be fencing on the cliff. Climb on the fencing then onto the pillar bush next to it. From there, jump up the tombs to the middle and tallest one. Aqueous frequency there for a location. After activating this location, another will trigger at the Angel Fountain for 4 more ToT bags.
Site 4: Get on top of the shacks by jumping onto the small wooden pole and from there the shacks. Scan for a location. This triggers another location in the crypt behind you for 4 more ToT bags.
Site 5: In the room with the first set of spike traps, there is a location (corporeal frequency) near the right graves. Activate to trigger 4 more locations inside the graves for 4 more ToT bags.
Here are what each site is specifically:
Site 1: Lion's Arch sewers.
Site 2: Old Lion's Arch
Site 3: Queensdale Graveyard
Site 4: Kessex Hills - Blackroot (north east part of map)
Site 5: Gendarrian Hills - Provernic Crypt (north middle part of map)
In total I have found 32 ToT bags. Enjoy! =)
Edit: If you have found this thread/information helpful for this Halloween event, then please feel free to comment as such. I wouldn’t want this help thread to be lost in obscurity. I hope to get this stickied, so the whole GW2 community can benefit.
(edited by BowmasterSol.3457)
That is correct. Suspicious Locations either spawn a ghost, ambush you with Halloween monsters, trigger another Suspicious Location, or reward you with Personalized ToT bags.
Example: Use your candy meter on the diving board in LA with aqueous frequency. If you follow the hint on where to jump after, then you are rewarded with 5 Personalized ToT bags. =)
Without spoiling the ghost sites, I will put the Personalized ToT Bag count that I currently know of.
Site 1: 3
Site 2: 13
Site 3: 8
Site 4: 4
Site 5: 4
(edited by BowmasterSol.3457)
I just put up a Halloween Act 1 Information Aide thread. The secret spots being referred to are the Suspicious Locations you find using the Candy Meter during the Scavenger Hunt. Suspicious Locations either involve the ghost you are looking for, ambush you with Halloween monsters, or reward you with Personalized ToT bags. =)
Temp vs Perm New Halloween Weapon Skin
There are 3 new weapon skins introduced. You can obtain temporary skins for either 150 Candy Corn or 6 silver. This is a fairly inexpensive option for anyone that just wants to get into the season.
There is also a way to obtain crafted exotic versions of these skins. These are meant as a long-term goal. Crafting these weapons will be costly and involve a big time commitment to gather the necessary materials. The trade-off is to be able to wield your Halloween themed weapon all-year round. This isn’t meant to appeal to everyone, but I must clarify that even a casual player can gather the Halloween crafting mats portion needed by simply collecting Personalized ToT bags each day. You will have all the non-Halloween time to gather the remaining crafting materials needed at your own pace.
Again this is a personal decision you will make. Keep in mind that certain crafting mats are currently rare and expensive. If you casually play this game, then hold off on farming for crafting mats that are currently rare and expensive until they become more easily accessible due to additional content updates. You will have minimized the time and expense greatly. Naturally, you will be spending a lot of gold and time if you want it now with prices and item availability currently.
Halloween crafting mats for these crafted weapons are only needed for the 3 new gift recipes. In short, a casual player only needs 750 pieces of Candy Corn and 100 of each rare Halloween crafting mat to have enough for all three gift recipes. While this may seem to be a daunting task on paper, you will probably average 100 pieces of Candy Corn and 15 assorted rare Halloween crafting mat from the Personalized ToT bags gained from the Scavenger hunt per character per day. Again this is solely from Act 1 scavenger hunt locations without gaining these mats from other sources.
If you feel like you are just swimming in Candy Corn and lack the other Halloween crafting mats, then you can trade Candy Corn to trick-or-treaters in Lion’s Arch for more ToT bags. Additionally, there are Mystic Forge conversions that let you turn any of the rare Halloween crafting mats into another. This is very helpful if you’re not looking to learn a particular gift recipe and wish to cut down the time you need for the one(s) you want.
I believe I have stated everything I could think of regarding Act 1. I will make any necessary changes if I come across new information.
Premature Happy Halloween!!
There seems to be a lot of negativity floating around this event, and this can dissuade the casual gamer from fully enjoying the festivity. Hopefully after reading this, you will be more informed about Halloween Act 1.
Disclaimer: I won’t be talking about Gem related Halloween items in this thread. Do know that you can obtain free Devil Horns from the Gem Shop. Additionally, Costume Brawl is already stickied. Just remember it’s all about fooling around. =)
New Halloween Achievements
Eat that candy corn for monthly. Carve pumpkins, kill Halloween monsters, and open Trick-or-Treat bags. Just take a look at what had been added and be mindful of it.
Halloween Crafting Mats
This event adds some new crafting mats: Candy Corn, Chattering Skull, Plastic Fang, and Nougat Centers. Candy Corn can be mined via newly placed Candy Corn nodes throughout the world. These nodes also have a chance to give you Trick-or-Treat Bags (ToT Bags for short). Additionally, there are Haunted Doors that either give you a ToT bag or spawn monsters that have a chance to drop more ToT bags or crafting mats.
ToT bags themselves have a high chance of giving you lots of candy corn with chances of getting the other crafting mats, Halloween food, Halloween tonics, or Halloween Recipes for Major/Superior versions of the new Halloween Sigil/Rune. ToT bags can be used as a crafting mat itself for potions.
Scavenger Hunt
By talking to a npc in Lion’s Arch, you will gain a Candy Meter and one Personalized ToT Bag. The Candy Meter is used to detect Suspicious Locations and needs 1 Candy Corn per 4 uses or until you unequip the bundle. These are currently restricted to Krytan areas, so don’t go looking around too far!
In addition to the ghosts you need to search for this event, there are also fixed areas that reward you with more Personalized ToT Bags! At the end of the hunt, you also get a unique skin equipment piece usable by any level character. There may an addition to the Scavenger Hunt in future acts.
Personalized ToT Bag Is The Casual Way to Gain Crafting Mats
The difference between these and regular ToT bags are that they are soulbound. However, the contents you gain after opening them are tradeable! These contain the Candy Corn, rare Halloween mats, etc. that you can get from the normal ToT bags. There are at least 32 ToT bags worth around the 5 sites the ghosts are located per character per day!
Assuming you only have your 5 characters, that is at least 160 free Personalized ToT bags each day before the server resets at 5pm PST. Gaining all those Candy Corn stacks and high quantities of the other Halloween mats just got a lot easier didn’t it? This is just with Act 1 locations. Imagine the added ToTs you can get when more sites get added in future acts. Your welcome =)
New Halloween Crafting Recipes
Jeweler: Learned through discovery to make Candy Corn accessories for many tiers
Cooking: Bought with Karma or found in ToT bags to make new Halloween Food.
There are also a few recipes learned through discovery.
Weaponsmith/Hunstman/Artificer: Learned through discovery to make new Sigil
Armorsmith/Leatherworker/Tailor: Learned through discovery to make new Rune
Aritficer: Bought with Karma to make new Halloween tonics.
I agree. Act 1 has done way more for my characters then an entire GW1 Halloween ever did, and I was content and happy with those Halloween events. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the event.
Thank Anet for outdoing yourselves and doing Halloween big this year. =)
Costume Brawl can be done anywhere in LA. If someone has a clear advantage by sniping, then just play far enough away from them. I don’t see the issue here.
A dev compared Costume Brawl to a game of tag. You play for the sake of fooling around. The achievement is just a bonus, since Costume Brawl is going to be something you can do whenever even after this event is over.
If this was tag, then your Mad King sniper is that kid up in the tree. You either spend a lot of energy climbing up it or you ignore him, making him lonely and bored.
Confusing Cry grants 5 sec retaliation per clone shattered on Cry of Frustration. This in combination with confusion make glass cannon thieves blow up so very nicely.
I hope someday sunspear like armor comes out. That was great for both my male and female characters in GW1. Sexiest profession ever.
The LFG function is pretty lackluster. It just exists and does little else. It is one thing to say that a person is LFG, but another entirely to say specifically what they are looking for.
There needs to be a scrolldown filter that reflects what you want to do and need a group for. I don’t want to spam map chat in LA, because I feel like I’m being an annoyance when there isn’t any better way at the moment to find a group.
I am glad to hear that they are working on this though. This is a necessity for the long term health of the game, and sad that it wasn’t available at launch.
The % reduction is more or less effective based on the skills’ original cooldown. For this reason, cooldown reduction traits are normally taken specifically for weapon skills 3 to 5. I haven’t done any math, but I would compare the actual time reduction rather then the percentile reduction.
Also, some traits that are bundled together make sense. Although Hair Trigger does give 20% cdr to three weapons, Engineer does not have weapon swap. He’s getting use of the 20% cdr to either a rifle or pistol on land and his speargun underwater. I wouldn’t want to punish an Engineer by having to choose more then one major trait slot for an underwater weapon. Underwater weapon CDR or damage buffs are generally bundled.
For trait like Banshee’s Wail that has increased effect duration, I would treat the extra time as if that was part of the cdr.
Again, I can’t speak for every single CDR trait as I have not played all professions. There does seem to be some fairness that reflects each individual profession.

Hey there. Being a fan of the first GW1, I really do miss the weekend bonuses that changed from week to week. I would love to see something similar in GW2. Players defined their personal goals for what endgame meant to them, so self-motivation is a large part of GW series gameplay. Weekends helped give some guidance to different areas of the game or something to look forward to while they worked on their characters.
There can definitely be a good implementation of similar weekends, and hopefully some new ones: increased lockpick droprate (black lion key), increased rare drop rate (passive + Magic Find), increased Balthazar faction (increased glory), increased faction (increased karma), and increased gold/exp rate. Probably throw in some increased Badge of Honor drop rate weekend for good measure.
Any thoughts?
My personal opinion on unlock order of utilities in pve:
Blink/Decoy > illusion generating skills = glamours > signets> other manipulations > mantras.
It seems that since the last patch, the recharge rate is less the 30% (something like 23%). Before the patch, it was working as intended. However, in both cases the tooltip does not reflect the changes.
(edited by BowmasterSol.3457)
I really enjoy a lot of the DEs in the game, especially in CS. However, I feel that the scaling of DE shouldn’t solely be done by increasing the mob count. There need to be more Veteran monsters in these events.
I understand that not all Veteran mobs are created equal. Some take a good 3 minutes to be downed with focus fire, while others only need 30 seconds. I suggest that more of these “30 second lifespan under focus fire” Veterans be spawned in the more zergy DEs off high level zones. This would allow for all professions with varying builds to do enough damage to tag without prolonging the DE to a sluggish degree.
I think (but don’t know) that Veteran mobs are more likely to drop better rarity items, so this may be a reason why they don’t want to add too many in a DE. If that is an issue, then create a new tier of mob that has a similar loot table as the base mobs but a bit more survivability.
Any thoughts on this idea?
Maybe same mesmer that cast iBerserker also put down Reflect around this ele, and she just blew herself up? Happens all the time.
I often enjoy the role of being a support mesmer, since most of the dungeon groups I do are pugs. Along with the anti-projectile and other utilities mentioned in previous posts, I also love giving boons to my allies and healing them via traits. I keep mindful to combos, which is why I enjoy using torch off-hand for that blast finisher and give everyone Chaos Armor and such. xD
Ridiculous respawn rate in Orr compared to longer phantasm recharge
in Mesmer
Posted by: BowmasterSol.3457
In regards to node farming in Orr, the mesmer’s strength in this comes from completely avoiding mobs with Blink or Veil, and using clone generating utility skills like Decoy to create distractions while you work on a node. When I’m just looking to get ori ore or ancient logs, I do zero fighting and typically do a run in about 10 to 12 minutes without waypointing.
As for DE group events, I put as much into burst damage as possible utilizing the dmg % increase per mantra trait with a GS. The amount of damage and correct placement of iBerserker manages to tag quite nicely.
Positioning is also very important. In a lot of events, mobs are spawned outside an area and run to where the players are camping. Since mesmers are heavily reliant on targeting for their phantasms, you have to be behind where the mobs will spawn and not with everyone else. This helps give you sight of mobs earlier then most players, since mob rendering is delayed a bit when you’re with a large group of people.
Or be able to make fun food themed bundles like a Sandwichmancer Kit!
The one exotic you made in that video was when you had 3 rares with sigils. I wonder if this is a “soft” limitation on crafted rares to become a precursor, since all crafted rares lack a sigil. I haven’t gotten a rare weapon as a drop that was not already preequipped with a sigil.
Perhaps along with the RNG element of the Mystic Forge there is also some sort of logic to it:
4 random rare without sigil => chance to get random rare with sigil
4 random rare with sigil => chance to get random exotic with sigil (non- unique)
4 non-unique exotic with sigil => chance to get unique named exotic with sigil
4 unique exotic with sigil => chance to get precursor
Of course that’s just speculation as I haven’t personally done any crazy amount of high level mystic forges, but based on what I’ve seen in various threads/videos this may be a possibility. Thoughts?
(edited by BowmasterSol.3457)
I sometimes use torch as a support off-hand simply for the blast finisher, giving my team aoe Chaos Armor and the like. I think the retaliation from iMage could be a bit longer, but latest update notes shows they are looking to rework retaliation. I have been working on a retaliation build, so I really do hope they fix the Vengeful Phantoms trait. xD
If only I was able to continue making clones in Raven form as a Norn, then I would be SO very happy. xD
The best advice I can ever give you is to play a mesmer yourself for a little while. The greatest way to beat an enemy is to understand and know their playstyle. This is exactly why I wish to get a level 80 for each profession, so I can be truly knowledgeable in pvp.
There are also other ways of obtaining Exotic gear like karma vendors, dungeon gear, and WvW gear with Badges of Honor. Granted they may not have the stats/skin you would want, but Anet has provided multiple ways of obtaining said gear other then crafting.
I just take it for what it is- a gold sink and a convenience. I doubt most players would spend 10g knowing full well they could either a) get more bank tabs, b) get more bag tabs, or c) use an alt’s baggage space or get another character slot. All of which would be cheaper gold wise. I personally don’t have anything against this, considering there are a lot more options to getting more inventory space.
2 extra slots isn’t going to solve baggage space issues nor will 14 extra slots if you got 20 slot bags on all 7 bag slots. It’s just nice to have if you are looking for something to spend money on.
IF this is true (again its just mere speculation at this point), then this would be the method people have been searching for in getting precursors with no rng. However, I really doubt this is the case and your friend just got lucky (though possibly better odds
due to all weapons being exotic).
True Sight: Your glamours now remove stealth from enemies upon creation or enemies entering them.
There are other exotic unique named weapons created with the Eldritch scroll besides the Mystic Weapons. You could also use them to upgrade siege weapons and help your server. If neither of those options interest you along with the popular ones you’ve mentioned, then you could just hold onto them for now. Anet may or may not add other uses for skillpoints in future updates.
I currently use Beaded Greatsword. It’s very big and easy to spot. I stare at it all the time while using the GS skills I’ve mentioned. I agree with you on #4 but I purposely didn’t mention it for this reason.
I am only speculating based on what I have experienced in game with the broad greatsword skins I have used. For those skins, I see them often and they are quite noticeable on myself and my clones. I don’t own a legendary GS myself to say anything definite.
It’s hard to tell from your post. Do you own a Twilight/Sunrise yourself or have seen a mesmer use one in game? If you’re simply telling people something factual based on this, then I had misunderstood the intention of the post.
