Am I mistaken in the fact that Weapons need Vision Crystals and Armor needs LESSER Vision Crystals? Can a Tailor even MAKE the one not needed for armor.

I am asking as I have not gotten any Armor crafting to 500 yet (and don’t plan to).

EDIT: Doh! I see now that CHEST armor DOES require the standard Vision Crystal. Never mind……

Hopefully, we all will get some relief from the horrid camera in a few weeks…..

I don’t think a player exists that hasn’t been frustrated by the camera in GW2 on many occasions.

Don’t spend them yet. Wait until you are 80 and they can be used to obtain Ascended trinkets. You also need some Guild commendations (or you can do Fractals) and WvW badges (250 of them get you Laurel discount via WvW NPC merchant).

Yes, you can use them to obtain some quick gold or T6 mats, but don’t go crazy and keep in mind the prices for the Ascended trinkets an how many characters you plan to outfit with them.

If you learned the combat in this game with a mostly bow Ranger, get ready to relearn combat with a Warrior. I’m not saying that to be discouraging as this is a GOOD thing (you need to learn how to Melee in this game).

• Farm Gold (or buy gems and convert to gold if you have RL money to burn)
• Buy Ectos (put in buy orders so you don’t waste more gold).
• Salvage Ectos (with at LEAST Mystic / Master kits)
• Luck + T6 Dust (you can keep (lots of uses) or sell for some gold return).

Note that there have been plenty of posts that the above can actually be profitable, but the odds of that are VERY low.

Simply tell him to lighten up or you and the others he is alienating will simply leave and start your own Guild (I’m not sure you shouldn’t do that anyway).

Guy sounds immature and power hungry….maybe give him a chance to realize what he is doing is wrong and change or not (and you guys hit the door). Just let him know who is being the Yoko in the band breakup…..

If NA, my guild (Servants of Fortuna – SoF) sounds perfect for you. Smallish guild (usually about +12 show for Guild Events every week), but very laid back and friendly. I think we are gearing up recruiting right now

Try Timberline Falls or Harathi Hinterlands? The number of LVL 80 areas is severely limited in this game so expecting the Devs to build a “serene” LVL 80 area is not very realistic.

Hey, I enjoy just looking around in this game as well, but LVL 80 zones are not tourist spots or scenic overlooks….

The misuse of the term, “Pay 2 Win”, is rampant on these forums. Obtaining a convenience item or something that is a “shortcut” is NOT “WINNING”.

The term refers to being FORCED to pay RL money to PROGRESS in a game in some manner. Nothing purchase-wise in GW2 is even close to being FORCED (ok, I’ll concede that not purchasing some extra storage would make the game difficult, but there are long term players that still only have ONE bank tab). Beyond that, EVERYTHING is optional.

Outfitting all your characters in Ascended gear and Legendary Weapons is only “WINNING” in your own mind….

because the post is actually about a legitimate issue, even if the solution isnt feasible. This is a line anet has to walk carefully, and try to come up with a balance that works.

While I am not one of those that blindly believe that the Gold/Gems / Visa-Versa exchange is fully driven by player supply/demand (I think those that do are gulible), I also don’t think Anet manipulates it to make money (but let’s not fool ourselves that they aren’t capable of doing so without anyone having any knowledge of it).

Some players seem to believe that Anet is here for the sole purpose of providing them endless free entertainment and somehow the concept of making a profit on said entertainment provision is an EVIL thing. Their continual self-delusion and battle against this EVIL concept is what 95% of these threads are really about.

Per above, MF has NO effect on Wintersday Gifts (or 99.9% of all other containers you open in the game).

All the speculation, complaints and math in the world will not change the fact that Anet Devs have directly stated they don’t seen ANY issues with key farming (even tho they nerfed it pretty hard with NPE).

No…commander tags need some in-game restrictions and possibly some sort of test / ranking for available colors to use…..Price is the least of their problems (tho the price IS part of the problem since any player with some gold can obtain one).

I agree that bank space isn’t a luxury, but it’s not a “RIGHT” either. I will not argue that this may be the one place where Anet kind of makes your spend some extra coin, but you CAN buy with with in-game gold, so they are not forcing you to use cash.

OP has the same options as every other player in the game in terms of storage space.

FP camera does not matter to me, but all the other camera options (snap position, FoV) all sound great.

If this was a game coding error, doesn’t it make sense that more than half a dozen people would be seeing these “reset” errors? If you just want to insist it’s the game, fine, but we are just here trying to help you find the REAL problem.

Fixed that for you (Chilli Peppers are NOT a 100% harvest from any herb node).

The suggestion about the PSU isn’t that what you have is insufficient wattage, but that it may be going (or has gone) bad (defective). Same possibility with the memory.

it may take you a couple months of raiding to get best in slot, but you are probably only raiding for those drops 2-3 hours a week, not 2-3 hours a day.

the daily grind method of gearing up tends to take less than a half hour a day, of that type of activity.

Also other games tend to have 1 – 3 possible best in slots per class. This game has like 24? different gear stat sets.

May I ask what in God’s green earth does how long it take to get a BiS set from that other game have to do with the price of Silk? Your longstanding agenda of comparison between GW2 and that other game is NOT part of this thread and your attempts to twist every thread into that comparison is getting tired. If you want a BiS in that other game, go play it for 2 months and get it.

I seriously doubt this feature would have anything to do with HoT. This should just be a general QoL improvement setting addition. The flashy slideshow doesn’t bother me nearly as much as constantly loosing the cursor (same reason, different day).

What exactly is the point of a LVL 80 map that has no significant challenge / enemies? There are plenty of other “peaceful” maps elsewhere (that being said, how about “repair” Kessex?).

The “horrific” state of CD in this game is WAY over-hyped and exaggerated by those players that want their CD builds to be as valued as Zerker builds in ALL modes of the game. I don’t recall where Anet ever announced this was a goal they were pursuing (or should pursue). WANTING the game to be as you like does not mean a solution to your perceived issue is being pursued.

That being said, I’ve never had an issue getting in enough damage to obtain WB rewards on my Condi Necro or Mesmer, but then again, I don’t sit there spamming 1 either. I can see where Condi players that want to do dungeons have a valid beef, but in terms of speed running, CD is not really a good choice there (even if stacking were higher).

I do runs thru Malchors and Cursed Shore (and back).

If you are running Timberline, the Hardwood is more profitable than Platinum (so gather both).

Doing Events, Chests and gathering in Silverwastes (and Dry Top) are profitable.

I also do Softwood / Iron runs from North Exit of Metrica (FE waypoint) thru Brisbane to the Kessex Hills exit then across Kessex to Gandaran to LA.

Frostgorge Sound is always a good place to harvest but the lack of decent node locating tools (or at least updated IP maps) makes gathering a much more difficult task than in pre-MegaServer days….. Gone are the days of running 8 characters to the same Ori and Ancient nodes in a matter of an hour while being able to do it day after day between patches….sigh

I think there needs to be some delineation here in terms of what the OP is asking:

CRAFTING is done at crafting stations with raw materials and components (that are crafted from raw materials). There are tons of crafting guides available across the web. Note that all the crafting disciplines except cooking follow a very ordered set of tiers and once you figure out the Tiers and progression thru those tiers, it is rather simple (until you reach 400 crafting….but worry about that when you get there). Frankly, cooking just requires you to view a list of recipes on a website and combine ingredients (or you can just start combining as you are able…..it’s kind of fun to randomly discover stuff).

FORGING is done via a recipe of 4 items put into the Mystic Forge that generate another single item (hopefully that is better, but not always).

These 2 things are often mistaken and talked about together but they are only related in the fact that some items needed as ingredients for Forge recipes MUST be crafted (but not always by the player).

As far as I am aware, all the information you need to use the Mystic Forge is available on the wiki on or linked from the Mystic Forge page: Most modern games require website usage to obtain detailed information on all aspects of the game (prior to just trying everything or obtain all items).

I do agree that the Silk requirements for Ascended crafting is unbalanced but it has always been that way (whether a mistake or by design) and I doubt Anet will change it now.

Per OP question: NO, loot bags do not have a lifespan (nor legs).

I use Spybot S&D and THEN use CClceaner to remove registry garbage (but CCleaner is good for temp files and getting rid of other application garbage).

…or a defective DIMM (memory). It is entirely possible for one game out of several to only use the defective areas of memory stick (and thus trigger a BSOD). The only real way to ID a bad stick is to replace it. The majority of memory test programs are often unreliable in finding intermittent type defects.

Note that per above the first step is to disable the auto-reboot default of Win 7.
Computer Properties > Advanced system settings > Startup and recover SETTINGS button >uncheck the Automatic Restart box under System Failure section.

I’m afraid I just don’t understand the need for this item when other locations offer FREE access to all the needed stations (and can even return you to where you were previously….for FREE). Click WvW icon, Enter your Borderland (yes, might be a queue on certain nights). FREE access to everything you need and simply exit WvW for FREE return to wherever you were (or hop thru the portal for a FREE trip to LA). I’ve had and used several 2 week ones (rewards), but doing the WvW option just seemed better to me.

I guess is should be thankful that someone is funding the game by purchasing “convenience” items that make no sense.

I’m guessing some WvW only players (not me) are asking when they don’t have to clear 25 open world maps and 5 cities for the same reward. As a PvE player, I fully realize who got the short end of the stick on this one (and it’s not us).

I think a lot of this discussion boils down to the old D&D LAW vs CHAOS philosophy and some players have no problem with being expected to act one way while others feel a loss of “freedom” is against their very nature. It’s less about actually REPing the guild 100% but more about being told you are expected to (at least that’s what kind of ruffles my feathers anyway).

I have no issue with a Guild being 100% rep, but I wouldn’t join and their leadership should be fully aware that they are losing potentially great members by doing so (and I’m sure they are). The world takes all kinds and so does Tyria.

I agree that a guild should strive to obtain 100% rep thru it’s actions and members rather than a “rule”, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say having those rules make them a “bad” Guild.

They are account bound (can’t be sold, traded or given to another player) so that’s why you can’t find them on the TP. You must make them for yourself.

BTW you can turn off the profanity filter for your chat screen in options….

Exactly…. so does time of day matter much? Bottom line you have to sit there and refresh and get VERY lucky. I agree there will be more completion during peak hours, but realistically, the odds of players LEAVING a desirable server like TC is quite slim at any time of the day…(tho there should be more leaving during peak hours if and when they leave at all).

I doubt the time of day has ANY relation to being able to transfer as the current logged in number of players has NO (NADA) bearing on there being room for you to transfer in.

• A current TC player MUST transfer to another Server to open a slot.
• THEN you must attempt to transfer to TC WHILE this slot is open
• Note that during this time when a slot is open, potentially hundreds of other players are trying to transfer into TC (so your are competing with these players for the ONE slot that just opened up…..good luck)

Again, the number of players currently logged into the game that have accounts tied to TC home-world has NO bearing on whether TC is FULL or not.

Beyond the fact that all the mounts clutter up the zone and cost computing resources (and development resources) better used on actual things that the game needs? I don’t hate the idea of mounts, but I see no REASON for them to exist in this game. Just because some players want them is not a valid REASON.

There is a Dev post in the Tech Support (I think it’s stickied, could be wrong), that specifically states they will investigate reports and ban any player deemed to be intentionally scamming, but the items / gold will NOT be returned to the “victim” .

Moral of the story: Do not trade outside the TP (or do so at completely your own risk).

If the Dailies detract from how you play the game, continue to ignore them and play as you want….nobody is stopping you.

A suggestion: Make another character that does nothing but the Dailies (Travels around Tyria collecting the rewards). If that doesn’t appeal to your play-style, I’m out of ideas….good luck to you.

PvE stacking is NOT directly related to any PvP balancing….it is a load balancing issue in open world zones. It boils down to allowing for more stacking or stacks per player being too computationally intensive for the Engine in a zone where a hundred players could apply stacks. We don’t know the details, but Anet has made it clear that going beyond 25 stacks causes potential issues that would effect ALL players in the zone (not just the ones fighting the World Boss).

The option to make Conditions more powerful against World Bosses (maintaining the current 25 stack limit) is what would cause issues in PvP (assuming they can’t spit all the skills nor have Conditions effect certain PvE targets differently than PvP player targets).

To be honest, I feel they COULD do something about the issue, but feel that the complexity involved in doing so is WAY overkill as the actual problem is not really as huge as some players want everyone to believe it is (100% my opinion).

BTW, the answer to the OPs question is that we don’t know, but Anet has certainly not (to my knowledge) mentioned the Condition Stacking issue in quite a while (certainly not in any HoT info releases that I have seen or read). If I missed some Anet comment related to Condition stacking, please correct me (and supply a link to verify).

You can easily repair and the download does NOT actually download files (it just verifies them). Yes, it can take a bit of time, but only files found that are suspect of corruption are actually downloaded (despite what the client display may imply).

Just to add, any download over the internet can get corrupted and it is most likely never the server end at fault (unless the file is corrupted on the server and that would effect every one that ever tried to download it).

The only advantage a 5K display would give you for internet viewing is a larger desktop. No actual web content is going to be geared for even 4K HD (much less the more awkward 5K Mac spec).

Viewing standard HD content on a 5K display is going to be difficult due to the small size it will be in native format (I’m not talking about video when I say standard HD…that can be scaled….with performance costs, of course).

Not gonna be associated with a Guild that takes itself that seriously…..sorry.

Do other players deserve to miss either some of the FE event chain OR Steam Ogre? You are basically forcing them to choose (and that is 100% your choice). I’m in no way stating you “deserve” the criticism, but you are going to get it if you continue your current method….it’s pretty simple.
