Which one is he? Is that the one in Mount Maelstrom, cause that one has been bugged for weeks now.
Feels like the first days TP went live again…. good times. -_-’
Yea I got another laurel, was fortunate caused I missed a daily the other day. It pays to complete your dailies before going to bed the night it resets!
I find it interesting how it dropped in price, instead of an increase.
It’s always the same, people read patch notes and see an item that is going to become scarce. Then price EXPLODES, everyone’s buying to it make a profit ofcourse. Until the first couple of people start selling their stacks, then people panic “OMG ITS DROPPING IN PRICE, BETTER SELL MY STACK TOO”. Then the drop in price happens until it comes to a steady price 1-2 hours after update.
Learn it, live it. Because when you understand this, you’ll know when to sell your stock before everyone else does and maximize your profit. That is of course, if you were the early bird that could buy the crafting mats before everyone else did
Relax people, I have over 5000 screenshots already, there’s a simple fix for when you reach the 1000 cap that obviously most of you are not aware of.
On Windows 7 there’s a folder in: C:\Users\<Account>\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Screens
Just rename the “Screens” folder (or move it to another location if you want) and when you make another screenshot in-game it will remake the folder so that you can make more screenshots.
I always carry a minimum of 1g per alt, problem solved.
lol 4 months and this issue still hasn’t been resolved. Maybe I should just take a break for a year and then come back when all issues have been fixed. This bug is so annoying.
Make blueprints accountbound! I waste at least 5-10 spaces on EVERY character I own because I can’t stack them in the bank. It’s a waste of space. I rarely WvW but it feels like a waste to just delete them.
Please make it happen.
what would happen if you put 4 eternity greatswords into the mystic forge?

A life………
Ok, i’m biting the bullet and figuring im gonna just need to save/farm gold to get my kitten precursor. My question is should i be selling the rare weapons i get or trying to salvage em and selling the ecto? Recently hit a bad streak in salvage and been getting crap so debating just selling the rares instead. Another question is should i maybe be dumping the rare staves and making rare staves with T5 mats i get into the MF to try for a precursor staff? Or again just make rare staves and TP em? I’m asking cause ive already sunk well over 200 rare staves into the MF and nothing so it’s starting to add up cashwise after i think about if i had sold them all. What’s your guys’ idea on those questions?
lol.. are you serious? You’re telling us you want to save up gold to buy your precursor from TP and then you’re asking us if gambling is a viable way to make money? That’s like asking a magic 8 ball if you’re gonna win the lottery.

That’s like asking a magic 8 ball if you’re gonna win the lottery.I always sell the rares, sell any material/core/lodestone I find. Salvage white heavy armors or certain weapons for mithril/orichalcum (never salvage stuff like apprentice gloves, even if it’s white. Cause if you get silk scrap you usually lose money). I know it might look small, but all these small things add up.

I know it might look small, but all these small things add up.I never really thought about using the materials to make weapons/armor, usually you get the same return by selling the mats, but you’re gonna have to do some math to be sure. Only math will tell you the answer, cause prices change every second.
the 30 minute cooldown is per character? Cause I have 8 alts and I just do CoF p1, p1, p1, p1, one after the other and get 60 tokens every time. Rarely I get 30 tokens, but I think it has to do with the fact that I don’t really ‘play’ that alt and it’s marked as being parked at CoF (like you can be parked at the dragon events and not get a chest = DR). Usually fixes it by doing an event or something in-between.
What is your point? Someone bought them to make a legendary and the higher listed one will be shown (thus higher price), someone undercuts and lowest one gets shown (thus lower prices)
The only reason it’s being used as a judgement scale is because it’s usually pretty accurate. People below 1000 will usually mess up the group, and people with 4-5k usually know what to do, what tricks there are in dungeons, have good gear, etc.
There’s always the exception (you), but it’s not the rule.
I don’t make groups requiring a certain achieve points, but sometimes I scroll over the names and see a guy with 654 achieve points and think to myself: “Oh god, I hope he’s not gonna mess us up”.
I never delete, I buy new character slots. There’s virtually no limit man!!
Have: 8 level 80 alts (one for each profession) with full exotics, and I’m never going to delete them, I’ll just buy new character slots when I need it.
100% orr maps = 50+ skillpoints easy
“Reminder: take care that you do not purchase more bank and bag slots than you can use! Your character can have up to 8 bank tabs (including your original bank tab) and 8 bag slots (including your original Starter Backpack).”
My guess: No.
Any news on why the loading times are so slow? I’m getting sick of it. I got 4GB Ram, and GW uses 1GB. maybe thats why?
My entire PC slows down when Guild Wars 2 is running too. Sometimes I have to wait at least 2-3 minutes before a town loads depending on how populated the town is and how long my PC and GW2 has been running, suggesting a shortage on memory
Or will buying an SSD drive fix the problem? (And also the PC slowing down problem?)

something like kicking at jade maw can’t be justified by any reasons!
do notice that the members involved already finish up 3 stage and will deserve their reward after the bonus stage!
nometter how rude or offensive he is, kicking him just to deny his reward is just evil!!
these people that randomly kicks people, especially at the end of a dungeon to deny someones reward should be reported and banned!!
Agreed, even if they were ‘noobs’, or ‘ kitten #8217; players, you should’ve kicked them at the START of the dungeon, not after 2+ hours before they get the one thing they came there for.
Except you’re forgetting about the part where I bought all gifts when they were 1/10th of that price. And probably most people did.
They will get relisted at 800g a pop soon™ enough.
Give us a kitten deterministic way to obtain a precursor, no matter the difficulty.
lolololol Dusk at 800g now, are you hiding something?
I’m in the same spot, and I have been levelling alts while waiting for Scavenger hunt (been 2 months now aleady, yay). I got all professions level 80 (8 alts), and full exotic (through dungeon tokens). I’m getting bored now though, farming CoF all day, every day is sooo boring. And I really cba to farm CoF 1-2 months to buy Dusk, I’ll just wait, however long it takes.
I’m right there with you man. Not gonna do something I don’t like for x amount of time, while I could just go play another game and come back in a few months and get it for much less invested time.
So you were willing to farm 800g for the other components, but you refuse to farm 600g for the precursor?
Dusk is now at 800g, not 600g. Check again Won’t be long before it hits 1000g+. No thx, I’m not playing that game. Me and my 3 gifts are out.
(edited by Charming Rogue.8071)
I play the entire game np with exotics and green trinkets (on some alts), I dunno what the problem is. And I’m still a better party member than a noob with ascended gear.
Drop rated changed for Vials of Powerful Blood (from bags), but doesn’t make a significant difference. The main difference is the botban, which explains the current high prices.
Nothing else has been changed to crafting since release though.
When I join or make a group, I ask/tell beforehand whether I feel like skipping or killing. I’d advise you do the same and if you don’t like the response, join another group. Easy.
People skip, because trash doesn’t drop appropriate rewards for the time invested. They just want the end-reward: 60 tokens and 26 silver.
They still haven’t fixed the transmute glitch? I thought it worked now because it keeps his ‘legendary’ status after transmuting.
I’m just lvling my last lvl 80 then i have all 8 lvl 80
,and it happens to be an eng.
i’m almost lvl 80 and tbh the dmg just suxs.Even though i have the same lvl gold weapon,i still cannot do as much dmg as my other 7 chars when they was at that lvl.
The eng def needs some sort of buff imo.
This.
I too have all professions, and my last level 80 was an Engineer. Now geared will full berserker exotic armor, it doesn’t even come close to the damage my other alts can do. Engineers need a serious buff, cause as of this moment it’s my least favorite class to play. Mainly because of the low damage output.
(My Engi is build around the Grenade Kit with the correct traits that make them do more damage, and am using Rifle as backup weapon).
Anybody who has crafted one or several legendaries will confirm, that it is pretty annoying to doubleclick those icies 100 times. Please implement a “mass refine” function or sth like that.
My razor has a macro on it that is nothing but for double clicking, used for these and salvaging lmao.
Do everyone really didn’t notice that you can select an item and SINGLE click the “buy” button instead of double clicking the item? yep, it’s still 100 clicks, but it’s still half than 200 clicks
It’s still 200 clicks, cause after ‘buy’ you have to click ‘ok’
Trying to melee a warrior face to face with a mesmer, even if warrior is not what i would call a top class, is not a good idea…you know he has a big sword and heavy armor…you have a glittery little sword and light armor, why in hell do you want to melee someone you can just kite away and kill with ease?
Because Distortion.
Depends on the market. I’ve had times where I made 30g from selling the t6 mats I made by using 50 skillpoints. So, obviously it was cheaper to upgrade t5 mats. Sometimes it’s the same price, but upgrading will cost you skillpoints. In that case you should ask yourself if you need the skillpoints.
Anyway… why don’t you just do the math yourself instead of asking this question on the forums hoping other people will do it for you?
With the price of Precursors, Legendaries definitely need less gold sinks. The Icy Runestones should be removed.
Good idea, give players wanting a legendary 100g more to spend on a precursor. That won’t raise the price of precursors at all. /sarcasm
Play with better people. That path is kitten easy and I completed it with any profession setup. No Guardians, no ele’s, 5 guardians, 5 warriors, every thing. It’s REALLY easy when people know how to equip/build/trait their character right so they don’t do kitten damage and actually kill the mobs as they spawn.
Yes, some people get downed state, but they rally cause of the billions of mobs..
Bottomline: Find better players. It’s not the classes, it’s the players that makes the difference.
p.s. I’ve had times where I failed this event multiple times in certain pugs. e.g. lots of bad players. So I know how you feel. Just get new people and try again.

Twilight, need Dusk.
To me each legendary owner means only 2 things.
1. You bought it.
2. You learned to milk the trade post. There is no other way to get a legendary.
You forgot 3. Farmed gold by doing Orr events and buying all the mats/precursor when it was cheap.
There’s currently no problem with Precursors, since you get them for free from the Mystic Forge. There’s no need to buy them from the Trading Post.
lol, nice one.
It would actually make precursors cost more, because people will have more spending money and are thus willing to pay more for a precursor.
Hell no. I would quit this game forever if it was subscription based. I wouldn’t mind paying to play gw1, but this game is nowhere near the quality of gameplay that gw1 had. It lacks SOOO much. But I’m sticking in there, hoping for the developers to come around. And keeping an eye on the game updates.
For now DR is hitting parked characters who you don’t do anything else with but that specific thing. To avoid being hit by this, whether it is intentional functionality or a bug, do some other stuff on that character.
So you’re saying that I’m getting 30 tokens on certain characters because they’re parked next to CoF? Because that’s not true, they’re standing in LA when I login. Though my usual routine has been: Logon character, do CoF, go to LA and deposit tokens in bank. And repeat the next day.
I guess this counts as being ‘parked’ too?
I have 7 alts, I don’t want to ‘play’ all 7 characters, but I do want to use all of them for getting CoF tokens. Now you’re telling me I can’t do this, because I’ll get hit by DR? If so then this new DR system is even lamer than the old one.
I’m getting 30 tokens every time I do CoF p1 now, doesn’t matter what character I use (Yes, the daily just reset too). What’s going on?
Out of all the classes I have max 80, Warrior is the best. Does the most damage, can tag a lot of enemies with AoE attacks on Greatsword and Axe/Axe. Autoattack on greatsword does A LOT of damage AoE. This is crucial when farming events with a lot of players, cause you need to do a certain % of damage to get the kill and make it drop loot.
Thiefs are a close second, but don’t come anywhere near the efficiency a warrior has when it comes to farming.
In order of best to worst (in my opinion):
Warrior
Thief
Ele’s: Long startup on AoE attacks. Also huge cooldowns on them.
Mesmers: I can farm with them, but not enough AoE skills. Also, mediocre damage with autoattack
Guardian: Got some AoE attacks, but not nearly enough as other classes.
Rangers: Only thing good is Barrage and traps, rest is single target. i.e. not the best for farming
Necromancer: This one is the lowest because mine is setup as condition damage. Condition damage is damage over time, and when having to ‘tag’ a lot of enemies quickly in zerglike events this causes the problem that you don’t get kills/loot, because of not doing enough damage before the enemies die.
Engineers: The one class I don’t have level 80.
Oh, and for the permaswiftness. All classes can have permaswiftness, so that’s not something you have to consider (Yes, even Mesmers with Runes of the Centaur).
So Anet wants people going back to open world and does this by very inefficient means of readjusting every monster and award and difficulty and blah blah blah. Well, there’s a more efficient way that requires less coding and makes much more sense:
1) Increase award of completing events by about 10x meaning 20ish silver for completing events.
And do this for hearts too. The point is to make it rewarding enough to match dungeons.
2) NPC adjusts reward by NUMBER of players. The MORE, the LESS award. The LESS, the BETTER the reward.
This only makes sense. It is more realistic, and it reflects supply (NPC’s amount of cash) and demand (the number of players). Also, this means that people won’t just hog Cursed Shore because award scales down with more players. People will go to the least popular places in Tyria because it is the most rewarding. This system is a natural way and EFFICIENT way of distributing things, in this case – players.
3) Make a HUD for finding open world event
The HUD should show the amount of pay the NPC is willing to give. Thus, players know where to go and to distribute themselves properly in Tyria.
4) Voila! every player is in every part of tyria based on a system of award and demand for players.
1. 20s is too much and would make for gold inflation. But the silver could be adjusted a bit more. Then again, when I go to Queensdale I can easily do 5 events within 1 minute. Not sure if this is the best way of going about things.
2. No. Just no. They want GW2 to be a SOCIAL game. Not to get angry at players when you’re doing events and some guy comes along ‘stealing’ part of your reward.
3. I like this idea. Makes finding events a lot easier. Events attracts players.
Daily Dodger is easy, find a skale in queensdale and wait for his loooooong startup firebreath animation thing. Walk back while he’s doing it, and dodge/roll towards him through his fireblast. You’ll get the ‘evade’ notification twice, meaning you just dodged 2 attacks with 1 energy bar. Now find some more skales and complete that daily!
(Might have been drakes, I dunno. The creature that’s close to shallow waters usually. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you aggro one.)
It’s crap. I play this game for PvE and nothing more.
I was addicted to PvP in GW1, played it for 6 years. Holding Hall of Heroes days on end, one of the first to achieve my awesome rank 12 Phoenix emote, playing in the most top-rated GvG guilds. I was so excited for GW2 PvP. But it just feels like Alliance Battles in gw1. Random, boring capping points. It’s not fun at all.
I laugh at anyone who calls GW2 PvP, and everyone who has played GW1 PvP knows what REAL PvP is and will agree with me.
I think it has a lot to do with the mechanics though. See, in GW1 you had to watch the field, position yourself correctly, watch for certain animations so you can interrupt them. Watch for certain players their playstyle, watch for ticks they did, patterns, and knowing how to counter them.
Even just making a skillbar took me forever, but I enjoyed it. Reading all the skills, thinking up different combo’s. There were times late at night where I would sit next to the skills guy with my notepad and making whole skillbars for an 8 man team to go try out. Thinking of every other ‘meta’ builds I might come across and picking certain ‘counter’ skills so we wouldn’t get blown up by these groups. Then gather some people and see if it worked.
In GW2 it just feels like you go in, do your normal combo (with hardly any variation), dodge some stuff, and repeat. Probably due to every skillbar being the same and having no build customization. And that’s not even considering the capping stuff, it’s just more fun to play deathmatch or whatever, but I’m sure they’ll add this playstyle some time in the future. It would definitely be a lot better than capping.
In short: It’s a disgrace to call what we have in GW2 ‘PvP’.
(edited by Charming Rogue.8071)
Looks accurate.
So ever since this new patch, it seems that I don’t get DR on tokens anymore when finishing the same dungeon on alts. Meaning, I just ran CoF p1/2, switched to an alt and did CoF p1/2 again for 240 tokens.
This is AWESOME. But I wanted to know, is there any other form of DR still in place I should know about? Can I do CoF p1, switch to alt, and do CoF p1 again for full tokens? I remember you couldn’t do the same path twice in a row within 2 hours.
Also, I remember there being DR on every 5th path you did (i.e. AC p1/2/3, CoF p1/2 and you get DR on CoF p2).
I could of course try this all out for myself, but I’m just asking here to save me the trouble of having to do that.
(I also haven’t read any patch notes on this, maybe I missed it?)
But level 80’s have traits/runes/sigils that level 35 don’t. Hence, making the run faster and easier.
Are you kidding? I love fighting that boss. The ripple wave he does and having to dodge it is cool.
Did they do any major changes to that boss though? Cause every time I ran it none of my party members fell in the lava, his attacks are pretty easy to avoid.
Yes they are:
They show how much gold you have spent and/or bought of the TP.
Or The luck achievement.
I think the particle effects should be gold coins splashing off the characters as they walk. They have no symbolic nature like skill, determination, tenacity,or even epic adventure- just you got lucky or spent rl money on it.
You forgot the other option, which is spending 8+ hours a day farming every farming spot you can find, from Orr, to Dungeons, to whatever else there is. Scraping together every bit of gold, gather t6 mats, ecto’s, mystic coins. Saving every little freaking penny for months and months to buy the overpriced precursor that is so uber rare.
Not forgetting wasting a lot of gold on attempts trying to get it yourself, but failed miserably.
I’d like to see more than just the 10 most wanted/sold/expensive items. I want to be able to browse through the top 100.
i hated that requirement. I hate WvW, I hate that they forced me in that god awful place.
Now that we’re talking about unlisted fixes, the glitch in CoE path 2 is fixed too, where you could essentially fall through a wall and get into path 3 near the end for an easy 120 tokens in total (2 paths).
