Rangers are on the daily actually
In security there are 3 important variables: cost, ease of use and effectiveness. You may select any two.
ANet loves there rainbow unicorns it seems
Pictures here, couldnt upload on same post.
sorry.
tyvm.
Send these to ANet, not to the forums. Lets ANet sort it out.
This is naming and shaming, and it’s against forum rules.
Depends. What’s your magic find? How full is your mats?
Anyway going by the average mats you’d get form salvaging times:
Silk is around 2 silver
Cured Thick Leather Square is around 30 copper
Mithril Ore around 50 copper
Elder Wood Plank is 1 silver
So if you’re going to salvage anything salvage the light and sell the rest
Well it’s nice to have some positive feedback on GW2
Making them easier to get would reduce the value of the treasure hunter achievements. The droprates would have to be adjusted to keep the amount of items coming into the economy low.
Reward the chest for defending and make defending as difficult as capping
It would also be nice if the got rid of the blue variants at the same time. It always irks me when I get one.
But how else can the Gods of RNG show you their wrath?
If everyone is toxic, noone is toxic.
Pretty sure that’s not how it works…
It depends on the definition of toxic, if toxicity is measured in relation to the overall community then it would work that way. Although I do like to think that what’s considered toxic is irrespective of the overall community.
I agree that the difficulty of successive defend events just needs to scale up a lot more, and quicker. Make it very unlikely that any temple will be successfully defended more than once.
Naturally players will expect better rewards though.
I believe a dev said back when they implemented the new TP that the app that’s used to generate the TP results cannot see the information about our accounts so it cannot currently filter that way.
But couldn’t we filter that client side?

Living Story S3 all at once instead of spread out over several weeks is all I’m expecting.
Oh we’ve already seen features (new profession, gliding mechanics, biomes) which seem beyond the scope of what LS has produced so far, so I’m bit hopeful that its more like S3++ or better yet S3#
I on the other hand would say, “cool! Now I can start to make that light Celestial set!”
You can still start making it, I’ll just cost twice as much… Still need to finish my Zojja light set… Verata was a bit of a let down.
Thanks for the reply. I actually did a forum search for character slot and nothing came up. Strange. Anyway, thanks again!
Forum search has never worked.
They sink all of the air ships down so that Mordremoth easily could make with its huge vines a lethal counterattack
I don’t think anyone expected Mordy to have the capacity of launching aerial attacks. By all account up until now we’ve primarily only see ground forces with the exception of the Shadow and a variant of Terragriff.
Thats a fast way to break an economy
I’d totally be for endless shovel… if I was the only one who got one. Mat prices might go down though.
Your MMR rose so high when you played with turret engi.
I don’t play turret engineer myself but I’m experiencing the same problem
What’s an MMR?
It’s a magical invisible variable that in some way, shape or form decides who you play against… in theory.
Well yeah. They just did the quick fix and modded the cost to zero instead spending days upon days, months upon months, removing the system entirely. As a guy who knows code, that is the easy way out honestly.
I agree with the practicalities of it but I’ll be going with…
It not like defeat should be an inconvenience or anything, right?
this.
LA is not dead?
There is already confirmation that SOMETHING will happen with LA with or before HoT.
Can you link to your source please?
One of the Youtube personalities interviews with Collin, looking for it now.
Think it was BogOtter.
Here is one, not the one I was thinking of though :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoxZ8_51ieo
That’s not really so much a confirmation as much as someone reading into the Colin-smile which is somewhat reminiscent of the Mona Lisa in that it could mean any number of things
Didn’t I see this thread somewhere else and relatively recently?
Oh yeah https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/SUGGESTION-Design-a-Weapon-Armor-Contest
My graphic settings are set at max: full HD res, AA on..
If this is true, it’s somewhat puzzling.
Possibly it could be that the preview windows doesn’t give as up close a view of the armor as one would be able to achieve by using FP view, as the closer you look at something the more detail or lack there off you can see.
Im confused here. I noticed the differences between the graphics between the select menu and in game too, but OP says preview window.
I think this is simply that they use different model qualities for the two.
polyluminescent refractors.
Only several hundred gold in the TP :_(
There could simply be a hard mode that casuals can do, too.
Casual and hardcore tend to be seen as polar opposites. Things that casuals can do and accomplish will automatically be labeled as easy.
From my understanding you unlock tracks with mastery points and then progress along those tracks by leveling.

Was already suggested about 2 years ago and pbly 10.000 times since then.
I like the idea, but nothing will happen!
Maybe if we bring it up enough?
Yes, yes, yes! Why don’t they do this any longer?
This is a great way to encorporate people into the game in a unique way!
Agreed.
Doesn’t one of them have a ‘no quaggans were harmed in making this backpack’ description?
That what the Evon Gnashblade wants you to think! Secretly the Black Lion Trading Post pays armies of destitute citizens of Lions Arch to hunt down and club baby Quaggans to death so we can wear their husks at pack pieces! Oh the Quagganity!
/TinFoilHat
I would much rather see this content not for sale in the gem store but to be aquired though regular play so by earning it.
Wouldn’t we all.
Just fix the styrofoam block the character head sits on without the helmet and I’ll call it perfect.
Kinda the issue with outfits, since they’re created to work as a whole removing pieces doesn’t look too good nor (do I believe) would mixing work very well.
The game is easy for you because you learned it.
Now get a fresh 80lvl player with 500 AP and tell him to do any explorable dungeon. Not so easy, eh?
This. It’s not so much that we need harder content, we need new content with new mechanics and challenges that we haven’t mastered yet.
I think the biggest obstacle to making S1 repeatable is GW2’s current instancing system; it uses the current map rather than a completely separate instance (which is why our personal stories keep dropping us in ruined LA despite being in the past)
They’re going to fix this soon though. Now PS instances will use the old map. The only thing that was preventing this was the fear of bloating the dat file.
Phasing.
/15charrs
Elaborate? I understand phasing to work primarily in the open world where individuals are placed in separate instances (in the extreme) or show different NPC / Textures / Models for players in the same instance (in the minor).
Certainly the party instanced stuff can be done like “flashback” type missions (similar to the historic missions from GW1), but the open world stuff presents a bigger issue.
Don’t really need this since we’re already time traveling from map to map or from PS to open world.
Why not just load that instance’s version of the map? It’s not really any different from any instance, they’ll be just using old terrain/assets, and we always download tons of GB’s of data that stay there but aren’t used afterwards anyways. Just a matter of instance terrain/asset check (just map corresponding data?).
With the streaming client this is now less of an issue (theoretically).
Replay Season 1 of the Living Story? We can’t even replay the original Personal Story!
Valid issue, maybe the wrong discussion to bring it up in.
Well, I don’t think that all of Season 1 needs to be replayable. One of the more important things would be the events when our characters met Rox, Braham, Marjory etc.
I could imagine that new players want to know how we became the leader of this merry band of misfits and only being able to find out about this by reading through the living story recap seems a little bit dissatisfying.
This is why I am all for releasing S1 over a period of time and not necessarily sequentially. At the very least they can provide us with these simply story instances that existed in S1 if only to provide some background to new players with a “coming soon” clearly splashed about to inform people that these story instances aren’t the entirety of S1.
You are about to experience things that happened before your arrival in Elona now
A significantly easier solution than time-travel, historians or flash-backs.
I think using phasing would be a great way to have our cake and eat it too with regard to the LS, in more or less the same way they did with Ascalon in GW1.
That was more instancing than phasing, and ANet has previously stated they don’t want to separate their player base like that.
I know the technology doesn’t exist, but the best way would be to just have a separate map for pre- and post-(event).
It does exists, or at least ANet shoudl be able to cobble it together rather easily, the problem comes with separating the player base. A minor version of phasing could work, but that would require a lot more work than simply throwing people in different instances.
The Story Journal is allready a great tool.
Yeah but the UI needs to be updated a bit, it doesn’t do a good job of showing a time-line of event.
Well the best way of pointing it out is by not buying stuff from the gemstore.
This is what I am doing exactly. I used to spend real money regularly on gems for additional services and some skins. but now, after buying every armor set (not armor trash piece) my wallet stays closed waiting for better items. Or game.
Now if people would just stop complaining about it on the forums! Or at the very least stop making copy-paste threads about the same thing over and over. Sure feedback is important, but it’s even more important if all the feedback can be put in the same place and not drown out the rest of the discussions that would be great.
1) actually particles were dyeable
We need this immediately!
I do see a slight issue though http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glowing_Crimson_Mask, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glowing_Green_Mask which might lead to people wanting refunds…
Not that I can recall… but I haven’t been there for anything but Claw and map completion for a long long time.
I love Charr! Too bad their armor can get a bit so-so. Most armour is shared among genders (which I guess is thematically in line, but my Charr Lady doesn’t have a fancy dress! http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Noble_Count_Outfit although I guess there is http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fancy_Winter_Outfit), and other than the cultural armours they don’t have a particularly nice looking heavy armorur.
Norns are too fat to swing a blade with power. X3
What I hate is how slow their running animation looks. My big norn feels like he’s running on fat stumpy legs XD
Are you sure those are even the Muursat? All I heard was talk of the “Exalted”.
You technically didn’t even hear that though, or not from an informative source.
What we know is that there’s a mastery track for a group called the Exalted.
We know that there are flying winged type things which sort of resemble Mursaat.
From this people assume those are Mursaat and assume they are called Exalted. This seems highly likely, but we have any none inferred evidence that these are Mursaat or that they are called Exalted. I’m feel 90% certain that this is the case, but it’s not yet a indisputable fact.
Balthazar Black Lion skins incoming! (I suspect. No evidence though).
I actually wish they’d just increase everyones’ movement by 25% and remove all the signets and passives that raise movement.
I’d be happy if my Guardian had a signet for 25% movement speed… or trait or something.
This belongs to the bug forum though. But yes I’ve experienced this as well.
The option to auto hide some UI components would be a nice features.
Next you’ll be telling me quaggan backpacks and alicorn short bows aren’t lore determining.
They never talk about the roving mobs of baby quaggan clubbers…
I’ve been to a few events(teq/wurm) where a single troll almost made the events failed. (by luring monster to place where they shouldn’t be).
Is it a ban-able offence? and what is Anet stance on it. Like 1 single person ruining the fun of 100 people.
This is fundamentally the problem with group content. The harder the group content the more individuals have the capacity of ruining it all. In the case of instanced group content you can kick someone. But it seems ANet has settled to allow a wider margin for individual failure in their open world group content (i.e. it’s not that hard overall).
I’d prefer a lore journal, but at this point I’ll take whatever I can get
~~a very, utterly, if not blackhole-suckingly TERRIBLE STORY!!!!!!
Oh I knew there was a ‘but’ in there somewhere. Several years on these forums has demonstrated to me that no gw2 praise goes unaccompanied with complaint.
That said, yeah story could be better in parts. I think it’s more a matter of meh mechanics to convey in game story. I don’t think it’s really so much the writers, I’m sure that they write a pretty good story on paper. The problem comes when converting that story into gameplay. But I do think they’ve made some improvements, the removal of the side by side cinematics, the inclusion of a more consistent cast (PS had a lot of characters coming and going), the ability for PCs to be voiced (coming in HoT) etc.
Although I will remark that GW2 still suffers largely from an inability to properly convey the lore of the world and it’s history, and by this I mean when a new player in Queensdale is murdering centaurs there’s no way for them to know about the history of the humans an centaur and why they don’t like each other. Well there’s some ambient dialogue but that’s very easy to miss.
Well..i have to be the weird one..i personally enjoyed the story, and LS2, not living story 1 to much though…
S1 had an exceptionally strong focus on gameplay and very little in the way of story. You’d get a handful of lines of dialog, just enough to explain why you’re fighting the Molten Alliance, or Toxic Alliance or Aetherblades (man I wish we had the Centaur / Quaggan alliance…) and then we’d be off killing stuff. In S1 the story was pretty much relegated to FPS territory of serving to justify why we’re killing this new bunch of bad guys.
Although a lot of players seemed to enjoy a more gameplay focused S1
You must not have gotten to the 600th time you get called boss by a bunch of teenagers. The 599 times before its annoying, but oh boy, by the 600th one it finally gets good!
Oh come on it’s probably not more than 30!
Hearts were meant as a way of guiding players unfamiliar with the dynamic event system to areas were such events would occur. Initially new players were confused and unsure what to do with GW2 lacked the classic quest system.
That said with the changes coming to map and event design in HoT (the outpost system) hopefully it will world to remove the need for hearts all together and maybe some time in the future ANet can start looking at old content.
Some outfits wouldn’t work well as armors, I’d say the balthazar regalia is kinda like this although most outfits currently available wouldn’t really not work as armour pieces.
The reason she seems to be smarter than other asura is because of how you interact with her. We spend time with her that we don’t with most other asura.
S2 doesn’t really do a good job of demonstrating a variety of Asura… or Charr… or Norn, Humans, Sylvari. Now that I think about it S2 we don’t really get to know any of the major races better.
Say, who are Taimi’s parents? Did Snaff have any progeny?
We don’t know. We do know they’re probably dead though.
Heavy takes 25
Yeah it get’s kinda expensive http://dulfy.net/2013/12/12/gw2-ascended-armor-crafting-guide/
25 damask for heavy
24 for medium
36 for light
I don’t know, looks pretty good on my Charr. Well better than most of the heavy armour skins.
Are we going to see accessibility to every skin type (light, medium, heavy) for ever profession?
I think official word was in regards to clipping issues (when mixing types). Outfits don’t have clipping issues (or far less).
+1 if it was actually an armor skin :/
or if they released it as outfit AND armor …
(i would pay 10x more for the armor to make the extra work worth it for anet)
Something like this works better as a full set though. Some of the other outfits not so much though.
So yeah new Balthazar’s Regalia seems to have a cape
