No real need for a group for world bosses outside of Triple Trouble and Teq. But yeah I don’t see how this would hurt
S1 would be wonderful.
But a Cutscene is probably the least they could do to bridge PS and S2.
Wasn’t there something about clipping issues on charr?
Poor Charr always getting blamed for everything :P
Some invisible walls really are annoying. Others are important. I guess it’s a case by case kinda thing.
We want to play GW2, we want to enjoy our time with it. We are lamenting that we are not.
I’m still enjoying it, I’m just not feeling all that hyped anymore for the expansion because I know relatively little. Even a release date would be a step in the right direction (even though I know there are good reasons why it doesn’t exist yet… but you know feelings).

I’m hoping there is no blog today, at least not a serious one. Because no one will believe it and too much discussion will go in “it’s a prank” circles.
But then I will resume my wish for more than one article a week!
Yeah but honestly if I was ANet I would have capitalised on this and created a joke specialisation article.
Saw someone linking it in chat. Finally something that won’t look bad on my heavy charr. Pls ANet.
Legendary weapons will no longer be legendary
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: CureForLiving.5360
Everyone else has already said it all, currently legendaries aren’t exclusive and they’re everywhere and have little to no prestige.
If they’re going to fix anything about Asura and greatswords it’s how small they are! I want my Asura to wield a comically big greatsword!
I’m sure there will be a pond or two somewhere
Eh… allow me to explain.
Living World = relatively regular content updates
Expansion = In time large expansion addition
You can’t really have it both ways without one or the other having to suffer in terms of quality
This has been fixed on the latest update!
Charr bug fix and a necro buff? Did you guys fire all your devs and hire new ones? Or is this part of the april fool’s joke?
Longstanding bitterness aside, I’m really glad to see this finally fixed. I’ll run around staring at the ground thankfully all night.
Programmers on HoT probably have some spare time or something, after all you don’t need each developer-type throughout the development process.
Who said legendary armor needs to be separated on pieces? It can come as full set like gem armors. As for 40-50g/day its possible – chestfarm.
Well that would probably allow for more impressive design without having to consider possibly consider how it might class with other armor pieces.
Profession specific exclusive headgear
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: CureForLiving.5360
there should be more profession specific armor in general…period
Ups and down to that, it certainly would be nice if I play X but would suck if I play Y but like Xs armour. That and of course you’re putting a lot of effort into something on a portion of the playerbase would use… but yeah I kinda like this idea as well.
Another thing, did the FL and SoS really need to introduce the ban of the females?
Well Flame Legion doesn’t ban females, they just send their females to breeding camps… which has a very kitten -y vibe to it…
It makes especially nosense when both of this organisation are minorities among their people, so wouldn’t they need ANY allies they can get?
Well in the case of the Sons they’re actually part of the larger Icebrood, so they’ve got plenty of allies. Flame legion not so much.
I hope not. One ascended piece costs more then a precursor atm. Imagine how much 1 legendary piece would cost.
It just adds to the already existing grinding and frustration. Terrible idea.
what you talking about…. 1 ascended weapon costs 40-50 gold and for chest piece 150-200g…thats like nothing u can farm it in 2 days
What? 150-200 gold is nothing and can be farmed in 2 days? I must be playing the game wrong…
I make about 20 gold or so if I really push myself… no where near 150-200g.
The current system doesn’t really allow for only hiding the outfits head… but yes it would be a nice improvement, and there shouldn’t be too much clipping issues either.
Will current precursors get cheaper on TP?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: CureForLiving.5360
Supply and demand. The supply won’t be affected given that precursors produced trough the mastery aren’t tradeable. However the demand side might decrease leading to people having to lower prices.
(bold mine)
People keep saying this, but Anet apparently disagrees, and in absolutely clear terms;“For all of our existing precursors, this is a tradable exotic weapon, but they will all be updated to use new skins that look much like the legendary weapons they’ll one day become. "
supply will go up
Rechecked the article… and you seem to be correct.
From what I’ve seen of the gliding mechanic so far: I don’t like it. It feels like a last minute afterthought. Though it might simply be a case of engine limitations.
Though, it’ll still be where I spend my first mastery points.
However the maps have been designed with verticality in mind, so although the current implementation could likely have been a relatively recent one the idea of gliding must have been in affect around the time they started creating the maps.
…anyone else’s hype barely hanging on by a thread?…burned out?…?
Perhaps it’s just me.
After nearly 3 years of playing, there’s literally nothing to do. Same boring kitten every single day.
This expansion can’t come fast enough. In fact, forget about the expansion, the information for the expansion can’t come fast enough.
I agree my hype is somewhat lack luster. Although it’s more as a product of the very slow trickle of expansion details. I was massively hyped for the first 2 weeks, than as time went on and I heard less and less well my hype flattened. Probably just the hedonistic treadmill in effect.
It is obviously unintentional but definitely is quite insensitive to have such a joke so soon after the crash.
One would assume that this joke took some preparation. So I’d imagine the joke was thought up and worked on well before this plane crash

fixed it 4 y’all
Bug! ANet patch this out immediately :P

They will possible go back to work on getting S1 out after the expansion launches
I hope so, but we know 2 things for certain. Firstly, ANet has expressed uncertainty regarding how to change S1 into a S2 format. Secondly, ANet has stated that they’re more focused on making new content than reworking old content (although this was noted in the context of the Zhaitan fight but I’m pretty sure it’s a general view). So these two things do make it look unlikely. Maybe someone is doing it in their spare time like they did with the wardrobe.

I certainly hope we’re getting more than this https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/ready-up-episode-30-summary/ for the week
That was then. It has been over a year now? In that time not.much has been done. I’m sure the people who live there would have done a lot more in that time of there own back.
What sort of population would LA have? I’d imagine primarily traders who would have been more than capable of plying their trade in a place far less ruinous. What I mean is, how many people would just hang around LA after the invasion.
When Anet released free, bi-weekly content people complained there was too much to do. Now Anet is working on the expansion that a lot of players wanted (and willing to pay for), people complain there’s no new content. It’s impossible to please everyone…
This. It really is.
People will find something to complain about… or if you’re not as misanthropic because ANet has a large players base it only makes sense that there would be a diversity of opinions.
RNG is RNG. Random is never fair.
Or it’s always fair… depends on what you mean by fair. No one is given an advantage over any other person in the eyes of the Gods of RNG.
Actually not quite true.
Its a kind of a fake random. For it be “random” there will be those that are somewhere in the middle, but there will also be others that fall on either the super lucky end or the horribly unlucky end, and there is no way for it to shift. (This all came up in the thread specifically about RNG.)
So, no, not really fair.
So you’re defining fair as parity in outcome not in opportunity. I think since everyone gets the same RNG chance it’s equal, so I’m more focused on opportunity.

No please. these sorts of faction divides are what turn communities in to hate-fuelled cesspits
I just assumed that was the intersection of human nature and online anonymity.

Ranger pet? Why not put it on passive?
linen farm coming *crosses fingers
Oddly, its wool that I have an issue with. =/
For me it’s silk followed by linen :/
I am actually looking forward to being able to farm Giant Eyes.
If in 2 years of playing I hadn’t gotten 2 of them I would have thought giant eyes were simply a myth.
I’m excited about it. Even if it takes like 100 repeats of an event to get it, its far better than waiting for the RNG loot table to award you with T6 drops instead of a T5.
I’m so glad ANet is moving away from heavy RNG mechanics.
No.
Yeah sort of this.
If we were going to get it piecemeal we might just as well have stuck with Living Story. People wanted an expansion for this very reason.
Mind you I’d still prefer a combination of Expansion and Living Story (where Living Story serves as content between expansions).
RNG is RNG. Random is never fair.
Or it’s always fair… depends on what you mean by fair. No one is given an advantage over any other person in the eyes of the Gods of RNG.
Now that’s how you do a suggestion!
479 times completed and current on 129/200 so that’s 95,929… eh and I’m only on 217% MF
I don’t like how the gliders look
Not many people do it seems… or maybe they’re just silent on the topic.
A bug. Report as a bug in game with a screenshot of the person.
Yeah this seems to be the case, just a bug. Probably as a result of ANet using the game client to do the beta instead of a separate client, so some beta leaked into the main game.
5v5 isn’t a duel…
Yeah but it would be fun “Meet us as in Gendarin Field at noon! And will resolve this…”
I imagine people would be able to find some fun spots to fight… might interfere with events though (not sure how but maybe).
The Charr have an arena just lying around, why not put the duels in there?
I think that was sort of the idea of Ascended armor (same power) except I don’t think they wanted full armor sets to be changeable on the fly.
Well not until they have some sort of template system. Would be wonderful to preload a zerker, condi or support build and change as needed depending on the encounter or team make up.
My question is however, what would make a legendary armour legendary? So particle effects won’t really do it for legendary in my mind.

I hope necro great sword isnt like mesmer where its a ranged wep rather than an up close and personal wep
Looking at Marjory if it is anything like her’s it will be melee
Her auto attack chain is allot like the ranger’s greatsword auto except the last attack applies chill (and has an uptime of around 50%) instead of evade.
What the other skills are is anybodies guess.
Yeah I want to be in the fight hitting this as hard as possible XD
Would the interesting it if was a melee condi though, daggers currently are pretty power focused and not as cleave heavy.
I actually envisioned he got taken in by a more misfit group of Charr that worked as blacksmiths (he’s a weaponsmith)
Probably scrapper warbands

@Cure I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at… I agree with the historical comparisons, but I don’t know what you’re trying to say with them. Are you arguing that because real world humans did it it’s not bad? Or that it means we’re hypocrites for condemning it? Either way I emphatically disagree, but I would like to know your intent before I attack your position.
No I’m say real world humans have done horrible things in the past but we don’t hold it against them (in general). Because the Charr have done bad things in the past it’s more than possible that people would get over it.
Well, I do certainly agree that the charr of GW2 should not be judged for their ancestors’ actions. My points were directed towards the assertion that the charr of GW1 were the good guys. You’re right, though, that the distinction should be made.
Oh no they were pretty bad in GW1, there’s little doubt about that. We can explain why they were so bad (those pesky Shamans, evil Titans, it was at one point their land etc.) but reasons don’t mean morally right.

I’m better it’s going to be adventures to spite us.
I can see it now: Challenging Content, Adventures! :P
You guys realise that probably the biggest reason specialisations haven’t been talked about or put in the beta is because the content isn’t anywhere near being completed right lol? That goes for most of the content in HoT.
This is a very much unsupported conclusion. Of course by the same merit this is also a not a contradicted conclusion. That’s the issue with absence of evidence.
Where did they say that they just started work on this expansion?
They’ve never explicitly stated they’ve not. Then again I seem to remember the big Sylvari are Mordrem reveal, in which ANet explicitly stated they’d been planning it from the start however a number of forum members went on to call them liars. So I guess whether they say something or not people are going to believe what they want to.
We’ll probably still have some “smaller” blog posts about the remaining topics for general world content:
- “Challenging group content” in HoT,
- Enermy AI changes,
- Fractals masteries,
Ah but they also said they’ll still talk more about legendaries. So that could be a thing as well.
I just hope the reason for no NDA isnt because this is just living story 3.0 …
Actually one would expect the opposite though, that they’d try to hide as much detail as possible if this was just going to be LS 3.0
ANet has a plan for releasing this information. Odds are they already have a time table for every blog post that they are trying very hard to meet. No amount of begging will cause them to deviate from that schedule. That’s the way things work in the business world.
Yeah but they could release the schedule like they did with the Feature Packs.
Just adding my voice to the chorus. No guild chat either… man I miss guild chat.
Thankfully it hasn’t been a conversations stopper. People have been universally polite and I appreciate that, but even better what has followed has been thoughtful.
Yes, but given we’re on the internet and the natural disposition to be confrontational particularly in regards to contentious subjects such as these the fact alone that people have been universality polite might indicate that they’re very possibly editing themselves to conform to ingrained ideas of politeness.

The Charr also attacked Orr and Kryta. Which was not their land.
Um… the best defense is a good offence?
How is that relevant to attacking nations that were not originally involved in the conflict at all?
Because they would most likely have gotten involved.

I have a feeling that, Braham is going to become corrupted by Mordy. Then, being a dragon minion, you, Eir, and Zojja have to hunt him down and kill him, or just you and Zojja then Eir walks in once its done and blames Zojja for his death. My two cents. Would that be dark enough for you?
Maybe some, cursing, some boobs and a dragon or three. You know the Game of Thrones method of edgy.
^This.
If you’re complaining about buying the expansion. Remember
You could have been spending 15$ monthly.Be grateful we are even getting new content to play.
It’s funny what you say because when someone brings the fact that other games have tons of content in their expansions, you people say gw2 is not like other games. But then you compare it to sub games. Mind blown.
Actually the comparison again is only to emphasis that GW2 is not like other games.
