OMG, whine whine. Zerker needs an adjustment. This one could be good or could be bad, but I think it’s a decent idea.
This isn’t a nerf to Thieves anyway, it’s a nerf to everyone in an attempt to bring better balance to PvE at large.
Do u even play thief in wvw? This is a nerf to crit and a buff to condi’s. Thiefs are affected more than any other class by a nerf to crit sides maybe shatter mesmer because of how squishy we are we rely on our burst to live. Now they are nerfing this burst w/o an equivalent nerf to condi’s or toughness.
Didn’t they say in the livestream it was PvE only? Regardless, I’m not worried about it. Improving incentives to use other builds is a good thing.
yeah except over past patches our builds were reduced by quite a lot, this patch just will force people to play one build that is left… i don’t see how it is a good change

Hello,
i play thief so i posses certain amount of “telepots”. What happens quite frequently is that if someone standing on/next to the rocks next to orb (Spirit watch), or on little walls (s. screenshot), barrels in temple and you attempt to use any kind of teleport /steal, shadowstep, inf. arrow etc). or get feared into them you get stuck in the texture and unable to get out of it untill you die to aoe (you can’t attack anyone though) or log out obviously.
Possible to fix it by chance ?

i found way to fix it though, you have to log out to character selection screen during match and log back, seemed to fix it…

If you see one and either die or a groups is aoe’ing and wildly swinging to hit something just think of it as comic relief. Theres no point at getting upset at a ridiculous mechanic like stealth. This will not change. Its a staple to MMOs. GUILD WARS 2 IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER MMO WITH THIS MECHANIC.
For some reason nobody ever wonders how it feels for thieves getting 1 shot by about anything… not being able to build condi tank like other classes, being CCd to death, being aoe’d to death, being forced to run SA because of condi meta, getting BS pet blocked, being hardly usefull for zergs… etc etc.
Naaaaah, stealth is OP because it requires me to use brain and play mind games~

this game doesn’t require you to lv up to play at max lv, just roll a thief, do ranked… i dare you to beat good players with “perma stealth” build in pvp

There is always that one guy who will complaing endlessly untill everyone plays what he thinks is right way to play… Newsflash: people skip mobs because those fights are meanings and often quite annoying.
Look at fractal dredge map, you ARE forced to fight mobs therem it is longest fractal map and the most hated. That map makes playing to job and not enjoyment. After doing it countless times i honestly can’t see dredge anymore.
Create a LFG and state you do not wish to skip. Play how want with people that play the same way. Skipping is optional which is good because everyone gets to play their way.
This is the most rational, easiest, cheapest, and reasonable solution.
Bur but but how dare people to play different from how i play!!!???

All I have to say is, condition damage in spvp and wvw is so over the top it sucks to play sometimes. And if they buff it by doing this, they will have only ripened the meta with maybe people picking different gear to do more conditions. No thank you and please god no. I’ll take skill with melee over passive conditions any day.

They don’t have burst damage like that in spvp and they are fine.
characters in pvp are also not that tanky as in pve/wvw

You do realize that you can build more than arrow carts and ballistas for defensive siege right? Catapults and trebuchets make fantastic defensive siege if used properly (especially when you wipe all of their supply with the treb or bounce them off the ram with the cata). If done right, you can hold a group 3-4 times your size with well placed siege. Hell, I was in a group of 10 in Hills that held off an attacking force of 40 with a handful of siege on inner.

Usually the first to come into range + threat calculation. If you have a high range of stats (PVT really sets if off) you would probably get picked up on as the biggest threat.
Just as PvE foes focus on characters who rez or who are putting on the most DPS.

Only time anet played a thief (at least from what i recall) was new fractal preview and all they did was spamming unload and being dead 90% of the time so go figure… don’t believe me? Check their stream.
As far as complains go, majority do pve, pve spoils players, they expect you to stand still and fight toe to toe which thieves can’t do due to survival mechanics… stealth requires you to use brain and predict what thief will do next… most people just wanna press 1 2 3 4 5 and win.

- why are you so rude to people from own server who are trying to get upgrades up in keeps?
- why do you refuse to help those people?Past 2 weeks i spent trying to get upgrades up and sieg up our keep/towers in EB.
When i asked for help to defend camp since we need supplies ppl were simply rude to me for simple reason: i ordered upgrade on camp instead of building omega because frankly we had 5 ppl, upgrading our corner was more important imo, than going on suicidal mission with 1 omega.
Other time, i said in map chat YB needs more big guilds and not many many roaming guilds or small guilds need to group up or we won’t be able to defend out stuff. Guess what? I got rained with rude messages, i got called all possible things, once again i had to solo upgrade towers to t3 with all sieg because people refused to help and defend.
People might disagree with me, i might disagree with someone but i am not gonna refuse help to defend own keeps/towers just because i have personal issues with person.
I have been in quite few servers, this is first time i experienced such rudeness from own server when i spent my own gold/karma and sieg to help our defense.
Having faced YB for a few weeks, a lot of us have experienced the unwilingness and/or overall inability of that server to fight. All the server as a whole seems to do is run away and hop onto arrow carts. I hvae seen maybe 2 guilds total that actually fight and they only come on or together for a short time during NA prime, rest is as described.
So has it occured to you that perhaps people on your server are trying to change that to become a better server and you doing what you are doing are enforcing what they are trying to change ?
Maybe your team mates want to get away from a “run-away and arrowcart” image that your server has created for itself ?
it is hard to come out when we don’t even have 10 ppl on map vs sbi full map zerg
when i learned how to one shot 80 people, i will play more aggressive

Non argument that has nothing to do with the topic. There are other classes that are in the same position in regards to WvW groups. Might as well say ….thieves are so OP yet it is raining today.
The facts are that some forward thinking people are using Thieves in their GvG groups and especially havoc groups. What a nightmare to fight a tight group with a Thief included.
no, it is actually relevant argument, if thieves were THAT broken as people claim then everyone would run thieves… that is what we see in pvp: it is flooded with warriors and necros due how strong they are
yes, there are some havoc groups that would take thieves but they would take about any class really
where actual wvw guilds, zerg guild, zerg busting guilds would rather have you run warrior, guard, necro, mesmer and ele

i will tell you how in generall fight as thief goes in wvw:
you engage enemy, put blackpowder down
they sit in it and spam 1 2 3 4 5 obviously missing
you go in stealth to get backstab off
ppl sit like frozen and wait nicely for you to get backstab off
rinse and repeat, they die, go on forums and complain about stealth
rarely, very rarerly would actually walk out of BP, rarely would anyone ever spam aoe on refuge/BP… almost nobody tries to dodge backstab
@LordByron: please tell me when did Anet say that you can’t kill thieves in wvw.
