All the bronys out there would have a hissy fit.
- Remove the ability for players to damage doors, period.
- Add new siege, the Beta Siege Golem. A lighter and faster variant of the Alpha/Omega heavy golems, less HP, less door/wall damage (multitasking but weaker than both specialists), much cheaper to build and buy at the vendor (like, 40 supply and the price of a ram).
Problem solved even for low player counts and a much, much more fun siege game.
Base is actually 2600 for the AoE heal. At 1400 healing power you’d heal for 2880, ie its completely worthless to go healing power.
I have tried cleric gear before and the loss of dps compared to the gained healing was… devastating.
And yes, it only affect 5 people. It also has a very limited range.
Mantra heal + menders purity + restorative mantras is great in medium-large groups, supporting the dps backline because almost 3K is a HUGE chunk of healing for someone that has 10-12K HP. Considering you can often do it twice in the time they can pop their heal once, you can heal them about as much as they heal themselves. You can use MoP as a healing skill as well, even pumping out twice that.

There are snowflake drops? O.o
Seriously though, the drops are pretty horrendous. If you spend 250 shirts on presents that you open, you get like 6 shirts and 1 blood dust back. And maybe a melted snowflake.
Greatsword iBerserker on a beefy Norn Mesmer. Every time I use it I yell “BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!” at my monitor.
Scepter auto attack is hilarious too. Like playing imaginary tennis. The movement are so exaggerated its even worse than an Asura.
Get warrior to level 80.
Full berserker.
Dungeons.
Profit.
If you’re really hardcore and do absolutely nothing else like normal people play the game, I reckon you can easily get 100g or more a week if you get lucky with the loot.
Winged and T3 is completely different if you look at the details. Not same design.
Flamekissed however was T3 with flames added.
That would be the eqvivalent of taking CoF armor, removing the flame and selling it as human T3. I reckon people playing humans would consider that equally unacceptable.
I think that’s supposed to be voiced when frozen/immobilized (face/mouth included), ie with as little muscles moving as possible. So yes, its literally emotionless and intended.
Its the same thing you hear in all the cartoonish movies when people get stuck in ice, heh.
Asura allow the Inquest in their city, and theyre less friendly than the SoS. At least you can walk around in their area.
That’s a little different though. The Asurans would probably argue that if you where stupid enough to get killed by the Inquest, you where a waste of breath to begin with.
Look at the Inquest like a group such as… The NSA. Everyone know they’re evil incarnate and they do illegal stuff/violate the constitution every day, but they are still sanctioned by the goverment and they are allowed to operate at will.
Holidays surely helped us in the coverage-game. Normally Kodash’s numbers during night-time are not competitive to that of top-tier international (or french) servers, so expect a different outcome when we meet next time
Yeah you really need to thank Piken, we’ve helped your coverage by not having any at all!
Commanding lazily a couple of hours on SFR border, the most people I had around me was around 8. The least… 0-3 peeps. That was half the time.
Kodash had a 40+ zerg and SFR, probably 60+ zerg.

Back to the topic:
Shatter builds in zergs have their seat, but it’s quite difficult to take all the juice of shatters against big zergs.I find shatters suit better as added things to your zerg build than being the base of it. Shatters really potential is the combination of IP+3 illusions. But in WvW, is quite hard to have them all up, so the power of shatters is somehow lost.
This is my experience too. Its not bad to shatter in the zerg, but it sort of assumes a single target (ie a focused group) where you can quickly get your clones up before smacking into it, followed by the shatter. But most of all, the shatter spec has no survival traits at all (ie the toughness/vitality tree). I’m sure that’s decent in well disciplined groups with extremely focused support, but it doesnt work well in your average zerg. I’ve ran around with a 20/20/0/0/30 spec before but I find myself far more effective with something like 0/30/20/20/0. So much easier to survive with menders and restorative mantra. Or you can of course choose traited focus.
Of course, part of moving in an organized group is giving up survivability for the good of the group… but a zerg is a little different
I refuse to play Ranger until my Asuran ranger can have a Charr as rideable pet.
All classes can dps. My advice is always: Create random class, level it up to around 20-30. This doesnt take very long, a week, maybe two if you go at slower pace. Go into sPvP and try out multiple builds, you can do that at level 1.
Determine if you like how the class plays. Dont worry about dps or apparent “weakness” as some classes become MUCH stronger at 80. If you dont like how it plays… Jump to the next class and repeat the process. Eventually you will narrow it down to a couple of likeable classes, then you can get all of them up to 80, where the real gameplay start.
So what we are saying is that…
Low level mobs should be killed in 1 hit rather 2 hits from whatever auto-attack you have?
You should be able to engage 30 low level mobs rather than only the ~15 you can now without getting hurt?
Usually weak players stand on the walls and while its hard to get a target (obstructed), the oil make it easy to pop phantasms. I usually snap off half their HP in a second with the berserker. Combine that with other damage and its instant death.
The other day our tPvP met “only” 3 of them in the same team and they where almost unkillable. Constant stuns (you sort of run out of stunbreakers), as soon as one went down then bam warbanner.
That said, the way to win is by map movement, not actually trying to duel them. In 2v1 the Warriors will fall, due to mediocre damage. Just dont let them get on the capping point.
this stealth op would explain why thief is the most popular class in wvw and spvp.
oh wait…it isn’t…as the “insane mobility and teleports”, we have way less than an elementalist, mesmer or a warrior c’mon…if a thief spam the #5 of bow then is just for an escape, so isn’t a threat since would be out of initiative after 2 teleports
But thief is the most popular class in WvW… for trolling people. In sPvP its kitten because the gameplay mode is completely broken.
Your second argument is rather funny. Out of initiative, lol… Yes, then you stealth and have all of it back before even dropping out of stealth. There is a reason you can perma stealth. Its the initiative system that break the stealth system to begin with – no cooldowns, few limitations.
I rather like the idea of stealthed characters being able to see and target other stealthed characters though, pretty neat. Would be hilarious to watch two perma-stealth thieves fight. You just watch them pop up every 5 second and disappear the next, until one is laying spiked.
Obviously that guy did. I really do not think it was a Kodash spy since he would have given the report in German then.
Ah. So because he didnt speak German he was from Piken. Of course.
You know, if he is on your server, has been approved for your TS and sits giving intel to someone on another server you meet, one of which is German and the other international… Wouldnt speaking German be a little obvious? Besides he is playing on your server. Which isnt German the last time I checked. Would be rather boring for a German to come over and spy, I’d imagine he would have alot more fun on Kodash.
But hey he might just have been a Piken spy, hell maybe we might even win this matchup with a little spywork!
I mean we’re so close to winning.
You’re missing the point. I’d like you to log on, check your “Slayer” Achievements and find out how many Giants you have killed from the moment you started playing.
Oh its 5, but I knew that achievement was broken long ago. Even if you count the amount of Risen Giants I killed into that, it’d be maybe 10. I wouldnt run around killing them just for mindnumbingly boring slayer achievement anyway.
More concerned about completely broken WvW achievements tbh.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Dots revealing stealthed characters would completely kitten thieves to uselessness in WvW and PvP.
Personally I still think that revealed debuff should be more harsh and that stealth should be technically a boon – ie subject to boonstripping mechanics (all classes should get more skills that boonstrip).
They added a second to revelead but then they reverted it again presumably because all the thieves was laying crying on the floor.
Credits to the Piken spy we had in our Teamspeak this night who gave a report in wrong Teamspeak. Good job man. Funniest thing so far in 2014.
Why are these spies never online during primetime because we always have to run around looking for zergs, it would save us a whole lot of time if we knew where you where
Mesmer hammer.
Pops timewarp every 3rd autoattack.
If you killed a snake, gutted it and made it into a belt, you cant just wave it around and yell “look at the dangerous snake, its going to bite you muahaha!”. Its still a belt.
Risen giants are the same thing. Risen, not giants.
Is there any ranged attack that doesnt track through walls? Its definetly working as intended.
How about the ranged attacks tracking through stealth? Tracking through walls is nothing.
Nobody use them anyway, so its not really a problem. At best, Tequatl see some usage.
Well everything new is fun. But I dont want anything temporary like before…
Personally I would like Anet to take endgame to a whole other level. A massive new zone with a central “safezone” town, fully featured of course (ie bank, crafting station, WvW portals, bl trader, the works). Outside the the central town it should be dangerous. And by dangerous, I mean even the lowest of mobs actually capable of killing level 80 characters. And on top of that… Open world PvP in the zone (people in the same guild cant hurt each other, of course). Scattered throughout the countryside, there would also be castles/keeps/towns that can be claimed by guilds… And of course be attacked/reclaimed by other guilds. NPC forces would randomly attack and try to claim them as well. If you end up in an overflow, you would only claim a town for the lionguard or something like that.
I want zones you can literally live in and feel part of, while at the same time having that “oh hey I stumbled upon 3 bandits and they killed me, better bring friends next time” feel. Now its just lets run through Orr like a living wrecking ball and ignore the 10 mobs trying to scratch my armor. Imagine an entire area of zones like this. It would be amazing. Guilds can claim entire zones if they are able to hold on to it.
But nothing even close is ever going to happen. Plus, it would probably empty WvW :/
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
some norns do have rides… but they tend to get drunk and lose them… and the rides actually belong to the charr, but yeah…
When Norn get drunk Charr are the rides.
Since phase retreat now always phase you away from whatever you have targeted, I imagine it would feel kind of pointless to run around in an open field doing something that never works in combat.
Hmmm. How many arrowcarts, catas, ballistas and trebs do you build when you prepare Garrison for a 30-player + 5 omega rush? How much supply would it take to build them, and how much per hour to maintain them?
… I play on Piken and most servers we meet siege up a wooden keep more than we siege up T3 garrison. I raid daily with one of the largest Piken guilds and can count the number of arrowcarts we build in a week on one hand. So I cant really answer that. Most of the time its none.
At least siege golems are fun to battle. I still think they should be cheaper and do less damage, to become much more common. Best WvW day that’s ever been was when EB broke and only allowed golems to be built. No arrowcarts, no trebs, no catapults, no nothing. Only golems. Well, maybe that day is tied with the time we joined WvW and ended up in a random server, lol
I dont mind siege, I dislike siege spamming (and subsequent refreshing). Both this should go. Make us work to maintain important siege. Refreshing is not maintaining siege, its getting in and getting out with no cost at all. Even a drooling idiot can do that.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Simple – make players work for it rather than jumping in and out.
Every 15 minute (ie tick), placed siege loose 10% of their HP.
They can be repaired/maintained at a cost of 5 sups/10%. You get regular wxp for repair.
In order to avoid certain situations (oh hey that arrowcart is 50% hp, its cheaper to build a new next to it!), every identical piece of siege built within 20 meters doubles the cost each time. 4 arrowcarts built inside a tiny keep mean the first cost 30 supply to build, the second 60 supply, the third 120 supply and the fourth 240 supply. Make people appreciate maintaining and diversifying siege rather than spamming it.
And that is, in my opinion, the most ridiculous justice system ever concieved. If they are part of an enemy faction that openly wages war with you and consorts with your greatest enemy (jormag), then they are the enemy period.
But… they are the enemy. If they try to hurt you. How many Sons of Svanir doesnt the player kill in the storyline? Dozens? Hundreds? How many hundreds of thousands have died on the fields of Wayfarers, lol?
Yet the people of Hoelbrak let them stay in the city, as long as they arent actually doing anything.
I doubt the Norn consider having an open war on their doorstep a bad thing. Good training for the kids.
Did all jump puzzles as max size Norn with a wide skirt.
Hardcore to the max.
This is why you dont want to use a greatsword. The heavy weight lead to muscle stiffness.
The thing with lol/dota/whatever is that the individuals are fun to watch. 70vs70 aint ever going to come close to that feel. Even in GW2 most guilds recognize that GvG above 20 per side is pretty much just moshpits.
That said, I do think that they should offer more restricted, scripted WvW style combat. Like 20v20v20 but not on tiny fake sPvP maps, real large WvW zones with keeps, castles and AI doing their work. It would be a simple matter to script “lanes” and AI units attacking other AI units so you have to be on your toes. Then they really only need to add spectators to it.
The solution is obviously to give all the other classes hammers as well. Necro with hammer, Mesmer with hammer, hell even thieves with hammers.
Oh except Engineers, who ever heard of Engineers using hammers haha… That’s just silly.
There is no build to counter them… Best to simply bring another player when engaging them. That’s how you win. If you still cant beat them 4v2, then you might begin to question your friends builds. Or their skill
A great example is the Warrior Shout abilities. All other races adds that exclamation mark when they say “Shake it off!” “On my mark!” whilst female norn feels more like she says it rather than shouting it.
I play a Guardian though and with those Shouts she actually do shout, but there’s some speeches where more enthusiasm in the Claudia’s voice could’ve been needed but it fell off short.
Well… yeah…
You’re an heavily armoured human warrior and swing your sword and shield around with both might and elegance, slashing at twigs, kicking Asurans out of the way and dodging gigantic Charr. You see the primary target, brace for the attack, crouches and push your sheild smack into her belly with all the force you can muster.
As you look up over the sheild, you notice that she hasnt moved an inch and is staring down upon you with a frown, while slowly speaking the words in a monotone voice.
“Shake it off.”
A hammer hits your head and slams it into your boots.
This seems to be a new theme with LS content. They’re only going to spell out 90% of the achievements and leave the rest to be finished out by the appropriately themed daily achievements.
Welcome to a new level of time gating.
90%?
If we assume that some people simply cant finish certain achievement (for me, choir is impossible. It just is. I have the musical sense of a wet sponge), then the daily achievements is more than 50% of required achievements.
So if you havent done them yet… Better get to it. Or you loose the finishing achievement.
I dont mind having lots of achievements (20+) but it should be “complete” at a far lower threshold.
Have you tried running travelers with that instead? I’d even replace that food with lemongrass poultry as well – that way you get -40% condi duration, +15% boon duration, 100 extra vitality (30 in the other stats) and perma 25% runspeed at the cost of 4% crit damage, 3% crit chance and 100 power (oh and those 5% difference in might duration which probably dont mean anything in terms of numbers, heh. Forgot about that).
I find that the speed alone give amazing mobility for a rather sluggish Mesmer and has helped me win a ton of fights on speed alone – even in PvP I have opted for Speed runes nowadays. Especially since this build run without focus. I cant imagine running at snail pace ever again :/
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Fix the people, lol…
Look, Anet could fix this in one afternoon. Copy the fire system of the mortar/catapult/trebuchet, up the turning speed a little and adjust for proper distance on the firing archs. Done. Arrowcarts suddenly far more balanced and impossible to abuse by aspect.
But they arent doing it. Why? Nobody knows.
My only conclusion is that they want people to abuse arrowcarts and they want people to use the aspect ratio cheat. So really, its officially approved. Its been that for 1.5 years now.
If Anet could find an Asuran to motion capture, I am sure they can find a horse.
Was Charr harder? Nah, that’s just a human being motion captured with 5 dogs taped to his body, its no mystery.
We expected that you’ll earn that amount of points when we realized Kodash is about as bad (or is that good?) as Vizunah :p
Yes, your blobs did seriously impress (its been a while since we saw such numbers since both Viz and SFR has been slacking for a month) and with the same habit of not following through attacks against forces 1/3rd the size. We literally waited outside hills in Piken border, watching entire Kodash sit on their kitten s on the wall.
But I suppose we shouldnt be too harsh to judge, when they all came to the supply camp we roflstomped them before they even knew what was happening. It surprised us as well, almost felt a little sad afterwards. Hills was obviously the safer place to be.
I find it somewhat amusing that we probably wont see any light armor at all here, only medium -_-
Browser issue perhaps? I dont know, but I use Chrome and it does not auto-logon when loading the forum, but it do remember the login info so you never have to write it. Too bad I dont remember I’m not logged in every time I want to answer a post, which brings me to the login page, push login, back to main forum instead of reply. Bah! Https format may have something to do with it.
What about sword&shield with dual axe?
Have a lvl 80 warrior in stock wanting to be doodled with yet not a fan of hammer or great sword.
Axe/axe is good for getting lootbags, but its completely selfish in a zerg. Hammer can win a battle in less than a second during the initial assault. Axe/axe cannot.
Greatsword is pretty much the same deal vs sword/warhorn (or axe/warhorn, depending on if you want mobility or immobilize). Good to get lootbags when you want to swing into groups, but very selfish. Warhorn can win a small scale battle by crippling the enemy and buffing your group.
sword/sheild I would only recommend for a commander, as its once again selfish (unless you’re a guardian, then the sheild has some merit against a zerg, but then again staff/hammer will always be superior)
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
I have an armor rating of 2682
Yep that’s low-medium armor, practically berserker.
Try again when you have 4K armor.
You’ll find that thieves will still 3 shot you.
Haha if they truly are ddosing you, they arent going to stop because you kindly ask them to stop…
When Pikens TS had major hiccups the solution was to change address. Little way around it. But it probably wasnt being ddosed, it might have been the server that was having issues. I am sure it was complete coincidence that TS worked fine up until that moment the main raid started stacking up to engage the main SFR raid, multiple times during the evenings. It hasnt happened since the season ended so its all good!
If you’re already running mantra and purity, then 20 points in the toughness tree is better than 30 points in vitality, at least for your own survival. The 15 point trait is very powerfull and has a 100% chance to trigger on cd if you have phantasm regen. You can pick the 9% damage reduction trait to weigh up for the lost hp. If you want to keep the phantasm damage you can of course also go 15/25.
