You say it wouldn’t be hard, well it wouldn’t in theory, server for something like that would be a bit of a nightmare, for zones that is.
As for dungeons, sure thing, make it like fractals, drops chance increases directly with the stats of the enemies, it’s just a little bit of math and it’s done.

The only problem is the all eternal farm/exploit, CoF P1?

A champion should atleast drop an exotic. Or some T6 mats . . . with 2 – 5 gold.

I’m an average player and for this month Monthly I’ve solo more than half the champs for it.

If they dropped that kinda reward people would just farm them and trust me, it would have a big impact on the economy.

Back when the Karka queen attacked LA the Dusk was around 80 gold, just an example

Thiefs will quickly say no to this and “try it yourself and see they aren’t OP”.

The reality is there are tons of videos on YouTube of Thiefs taking on 5 or more players ALONE and breathing them on WvW, spend a few hours looking at some and you cannot say they aren’t OP, no other class can do the same.

And when they can take on those numbers, 1v1 is over before it starts.

Now comes the part when someone quotes me and says “I beat Thiefs all the time, not that difficult because of this and this and this and do that”.
Well guess what, I can take on bad Thiefs like that too, earlier today on OS one from Viz kept coming and kept dying, that doesn’t mean they aren’t OP.
When you can do what a great Thief does consistently with any other class, then you can say they aren’t OP.

EDIT: I forgot to present my solution, it’s none, not anything related to stealth anyway…
The game it’s just “in way too deep” any nerfing on stealth would “kill” the class.
Every game that tried stealth (not just MMOs) and didn’t made it 100% stealth, didn’t work. 99% alpha, shadow on the ground, the slightest give away will just do that, give it away.
So if anything Thiefs should get their damage nerfed like Guardians got their HP nerfed, 10k if I’m not mistaken.

I don’t know which server you play in, in mine there isn’t 2 players looking alike, not high level anyway (and yes, that means bellow 80).
The mix and match of sets is amazing in this game, add the colors to it and I cannot work out where are you coming from.

I’ve beat Adnul a coupe of hours after posting this and I’m bringing this back because A it’s still and active event and B I wanna give my insight.

I see people talking about luck and from my experience, it’s exactly what it is.
Here’s the thing, Adnul A.I. (as far as I can tell) is very simple, he’ll read your input and react accordingly.
There he can either counter your move, that will happen ~80% of the time or let you have it.
You can try a simple experiment with him.
Get yourself one drink away from losing, logic says you’ll either try to heal or bluff right? So he should try to block that but if you use your block he’ll just have a drink, same goes for if you drink yourself, he won’t try to block simply because the A.I. is reacting to your input, not trying to be clever.

So at the end you’ll on average win 1 possibly 2 games outta 10 and if you’re really unlucky, less than that.
Which brings me to my original post, if foods were forgot at the start and people opted for the easy route, it should remain like that, for those who want a challenge or not, the choice would be individual.

I’ve been here for some 3 hours trying to take on the Masters, some of them are plain ridiculous.
But I think the worst is, nourishment use to, meaning many players cheated their way to beat them.

Because I’m late for the party I have to suffer and play this “as its meant”?

It’s NOT being fun so far, even looking up strategy guides and YouTube videos, and actually understanding the game you can’t really do anything when you are down in 6 drinks while the NPCs can take some 10~15, block your heals and call on your bluffs all the time.

Get the nourishment working back, its unfair to say the least that after hours of trying I still can’t unlock the achievement while cheaters have long been done with it.

You can solve that by simply double-clicking on the skill. The second click will use the skill at the marked location.

This, its what I do and it works like a charm.

Now don’t go ahead and double click on your keys THEN adjust the aoe ring, because it just won’t work.

While we are on the subject, only the chest piece of the Stalwart’s set is available in PvE, the rest is only for PvP which makes no sense not only because its technically already available (I.E. made to fit every player already) but its also some of the best shoulders in the game.

Whats stopping you from getting X amount of Gems every month?
How is it any different from a subscription you’d like?

And you are right when you say it’s great that GW2 is free to play, it was that along with the art work that made me buy this game, had it been subscription based and I would never pick it.
The way ANET is handling this particular bit is perfect in my opinion, or at least far better than any other sub base mmo.

getting out of combat

I just think they need to fix the bug that your locked in combat well after being out of it. That would be fine for me.

Yeah as soon as you lose argo, how many times is the mob walking away and we’re still locked in combat?

Not to mention if for some reason you drag it too far out (my 1500 units of range Ranger tends to do that) it will go back regening no matter how much damage you are making, only when it returns to its position the combat can resume normally.

You should play around with the WvW graphics (quality and limit) you find at the end on the page.

I’ve set the quality to low (or what ever the second worst is called) and I’ve notice the models of other players don’t get shading or things like that, also when theres a lot they turn to lowest (the preset one color toons).

It also does did to pre load them when you get close to them, so you see right away they are there, and then it changes up a bit.

With the release of the newest jumping puzzle, this issue has become more apparent.

You forgot something, people only use these portals IF they want, you can get there and do your jumping all the way upon your own ignoring them.
If anything having portals for lazy people helps thin them at the actual jumping bits, so they don’t get in a way of people that wanna do it for themselves.

Besides the exotic shoulders only drop once per toon and are souldbound, its not like its doing anything negative for the economy.

It’s still easier than doing the boss fights without getting hit.
Because you’ll have to stay behind to rez a party member or you’ll almost certain get CC.
I got pulled twice in a row, from one Gollum at the time and that made me hit the same beam twice in a blink of an eye.

I agree, but, building a new dungeon is time consuming so we’d have to wait God knows how long.

Looking at the alternative (I.E. the way they did the Molten, South Sun and Dragon weapons) I just rather have them on the gem store.
Thankfully I didn’t even like any of the previous sets (aforementioned) but if I did I’d be screwed because I didn’t even get any tokens for them doing the events.

You can trade gold for gems anyway so I think its better this time around at least.

Mean while you can pretty much do all that already, make an order with the lowest price and you can keep it on your “I’m buying” tab, make shift favorites.
You can list things over the lowest seller (I do it all the) and the just wait for the price to go up and make that profit.

Wise words, I hate that every time I open the suggestion forum someone I asking for a nerf.
A few weeks ago someone was saying the barrage (#5 ranger Longbow) was OP and needed nerf asap.

Now, on topic, simple fact is, make if you can reveal the stealth even if it’s just every 6 secs, it would make it useless.
It’s like asking for a smelly grenade to keep pets away, or chicken wings to make warriors munch on them an be unable to attack you.

Last few updates really screwd eles because people just didn’t know how to counter and wouldn’t stop asking for nerfs, as a result several builds became useless just like that.

All that happens because doing things across maps means nothing. Even daily tasks/achievements means nothing now for most of ppl who have all laurels ppl wanted.

I’m on my 2nd 100% map completion, it’s about 60% of what I do in the game and theres good money in it, specially if you kill all the mobs and gather from every node you see.

And I’d like to hear about that “all the laurels they want” thing, correct me if I’m wrong they only started showing on the monthly since February, 5 months = 50 laurels, plus the daily ones lets say ~137(?).
Thats 187 laurels you might be able to have if you happen to do it every daily (personally when I finish this monthly I’ll have little over 100 and I haven’t spent a single one since they were introduced).
With gear going from 25~40 a piece, let me ask again, how does anyone pockets as many laurels as they want? Cuz I could use a lot more.

You should be able to do conversion experience points to gold (any way, similarly to how you can convert karma to gold), since ppl who play have a lot of xp on their characters and way to many skill points that are just there without any real use.
Event xp and hearts xp could be boosted also for this solution.

This is all kinds of bad idea, even without a boost in xp you are asking for, and even if 100xp = 1 copper, people would be swimming around in money in no time, have you actually notice how many xp you make? Just walking and unlocking a WP is like killing 3 mobs.

(I know this can be used against the system so read below till the end.)

I’ve read it and I’ll stick with my opinion above. XP → Gold BAD idea.

Ppl farm dungeons and that is ok. Everybody knows that and it makes some parts of the community angry especially when ppl acts like !@#$% in their CoF P1 warrior/mes zerg runs.
Again there should be penalty for all gold/silver/copper and drop rate if possible for doing the same dungeon over and over. Also xp penalty (per account) for finishing dungeon to prevent dung farming for xp – gold conversion.
There should also be penalty for ppl who swap characters in dungeon, since pits common now that ppl swap for alts in half of the boss fight in CoF so they can level them fast.
If killing each boss character participates in, can be used as a marker, then end reward should be based on your participation. You have fought 2nd boss 60%, last boss, 30%, but if you haven’t event touched it you have nothing etc.

Now you’re talking, but still you missed the nail by a bit. Damage shouldn’t be the only thing counting towards fighting a boss (I know that’s not what you said) tanking is another important job, so you see there’s a lot of parameters that even with the best intentions might not make for a fair distribution.
But at the end of the day lets face it, a score system will prefer a certain thing the players do and when people figure it out they’ll just exploit it like they always do.
For example, imagine a boss will drop gold accordingly with how much damage you made. Now you know people will just bring him close to down, leave him regen then do it again and again and again, all day long, see the problem?

Personally the biggest problem I have with dungeons is rewards, CoF P1 is the most rewarding so that’s the only one people wanna do, finding people for another path and specially another dungeon is really hard.
ANET should boost the other ones, it’s not that complicated and it would at least keep things varied.

I think this can be base for a system that would reward players who actually ply instead of farming.

The game does reward people that play, I’ve made maybe 1000 gold since launch without any farming, I have over 400 gold between my characters right now.
You have to understand theres always gonna be places were the time/money ratio is a bit better, and obviously farmers will farm it.

But just try to complete an area (for 100% map) killing every mob and gathering everything you see to sell it and see how much money you make.
Sure in that same time period you’re likely to have made more money if you were on CoF P1, but that just adds to my point, you will get rewarded regardless, but there will always be places more rewarding were farmers gather.

I’m not sure how you find MF is handicapping the team, if a player dies a lot that doesn’t mean he’s running with MF, maybe he’s just bad or it’s not his day.
Personally I think someone that uses all MF gear knows what he’s actually doing.

It’s handicapping the team because due to the stats difference they perform significantly worse.
And no, MF has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not someone is a skilled/knowledgeable player All it shows is how a player is willing to sacrifice damage or survival for something that isn’t combat related and only for themselves.

My full MF gear makes me a glass cannon, but I’ll run any dungeon you want and I’ll give you 1 gold for every time I get downed in it, I can manage myself, I call that skill, you call it what ever you want.

Like another user mentioned, TC seemed to be fine with it as long as he gets some benefit, if he wants a MF benefit I suggest he gets his own MF gear.
I mean who’s to tell someone is not using blue or green gear instead of exotic? Won’t that cause the same aforementioned handicap problem?
MF is a stat just like any other, deal with it.

No offence but he sounds like the kind of chap that will sit at CoF door for litarely over 15 minutes (seen this constantly happen) waiting for a full zerker warrior party just to save 5 minutes inside the dungeon, talk about time management skills.

Nope, 3 hours later and nada, no money, no item, no record of any kind.

Lets see if by tomorrow it shows up but not hopeful, it was around 8 gold between the Pieces of Zhaitaffy and Dragon Coffer (shown on video).
Even if I do get the items back they aren’t worthing as much anymore

Pieces of Zhaitaffy disappearing

Some 30 minutes ago I just tried to sell some 75 Pieces of Zhaitaffy, after 10~15 seconds I get an error message (on the BLTC) saying “Error while attempting to sell”.

Every piece disappeared from my inventory, and theres no gold to pick up (about 1.15 gold was on the projected profit).

Anyone else having trouble? Am I getting my items or gold back?

I don’t mean to be rude, but, about the wondering about if your wife got an achievement when you both did a puzzle or something…
Can’t you just ask? o.O
I play this with my bother and even if we are in different rooms we just shout ^.^

Now on a more serious note, I know that would be “helpful” for friends for example, BUT, big but (no point intended) ANET said (if I’m not mistaken) things like inspect tools to see gear, or in this case achievements, and a duel mode are not in their plans because that would encourage elitism and unnecessary confrontation between people from the same server.

About the daily achievement points, I have to disagree, if for nothing else it’s been there, new players would be put in a disadvantage.

I do like the idea of more titles, I think every achievement should grand a title with their name.
For example, when completing Indiscriminate Slayer (kill 1000 ambient creatures) you should get a title, Indiscriminate Slayer.
I honestly thought it was like this when I started playing.

I got 100% of the map some 4/5 months ago and I don’t remember running into any issues like that. And yes, 98% I was on my own.

6 Ettin plus a veteran sounds like a cave (like you said) but I very much doubt they’re all on top of each other, be honest, you just rushed and they all came long right?

Every time I get in the suggestions forums all I see is nerf nerf nerf, nerf skills, nerf enemies, nerf events…

I’m on my second toon getting 100% map (on Orr land mass) and again doing it on my own, and after all the complains I still don’t see any problem, anything other than a champion is doable solo or you can avoid it all together and I’m an average player at best.

So like I always recommend, ask for help or go back later, but for the love of all that’s holly don’t ask for more nerfing, I mean just look at CoF P3.

So what happens to the full MF gear (exotic/ascended) I got for a ton of gold?

It’s well over 100% (can’t remember the exact number and don’t wanna guess) before the sigil stack and food/banner.

And there’s another problem with your suggestion.

MF gear gives and takes away, you get the boost, but you are weaker because you have to open hand of some other stat.
That’s the idea of MF in the game, you’re suggesting that all of a sudden everyone gets a MF boost, i.e. better loot, but no downside to it.

Like it’s been said you can’t do that with something do popular as Copper.

Some 4 months ago I did manage a small profit after buying 500 Acient Bones when I only needed 250.
I managed that profit because they were listed in groups of 10’s and 20’s, you know when people unlist?
So because I put the excess 250 right back there at the new lowest I didn’t lost any money from mistakenly buying those.

Now another example, last month or so I listed 500 Iron for 16c (match lowest), the next day they were selling it for 12c.
It took weeks to sell and I don’t think I ever would if people haven’t got busy on the South Sun Cove event.

So top tip, if you are looking to control a certain commodity, don’t.
Because the market is cross server it’s almost impossible, not to mention it requires a ton of gold and time.

If you spot the occasional deal, like those ancient bones with a huge discrepancy, you can risk it but you’ll probably make more gold just by playing the game the way it’s intended.

Not only that but Dragons & (some) Events dropping a daily bonus chest with guarantee rare, plus the daily rewards (that one larel in particular) are really putting people away of farming.

Personally the days I log in I can never do it all, let alone leave any time for something.

But if I can say something, going around farming nodes is hard work, are people expecting others to do that while they pay peanuts for mats? Specially T6 ones?

I did with my ranger.
Solo all the 3 Orr maps for my completion some 5 months ago, and I’m doing the same again with a warrior, specially because now adays I barely see anyone there, saw 2 peeps total today while completing Malachor Leap.

You just need to rethink your approach or ask for help in LA, amongst all of those campers, one or two might get up from their behinds and lend a hand.

There’s no pleading some people, after all the complains about “always the same matchups” when ANET does something about it “it’s a terrible idea”.

I don’t know if you people missing the bit where they said it’s NOT completely random.

The biggest problem in WvW right now I’d say is the people that when losing just stand around idle complaining about everything creating a queue for people that actually wanna play.
That and the lack of an organized effort, in my server at any given time there are more commanders in LA than the 4 WvW maps combined, its 1 or 2 in EB and ZERO on BL.

If you looking for a guild there are websites dedicated to them, you can google that.

But most importantly, why would you wanna be in a guild?
Before the Guild Missions were introduced there was no reason at all, after that people only want you in a guild so you can pile influence for them.

I’ve been in several big guilds and they were all pretty much useless, you could ask in the chat for help but only low level players would volunteer if any, the 10~20 something officers would only play with each other enjoying the perks of the influence.
The only time you got any attention from one was if you were not representing, THEN they’d get all over you in /whisper.

As a result I made my own guild, it’s just me and my brother but at least we have what matters unlocked and ready to be use by US instead of giving away “free labor” to these so called friendly guilds.

I got world completion and I’ve done it mostly alone with the occasional help of my brother (including Orr).

I’d volunteer to guest in your server and help you but I haven’t got much time these days with daily/dragon.

You should ask for help in your guild or LA.

I think it would be easier a “dynamic quality”.
Right now you can choose how many and how good looking you want them, but I would like to have these changed dynamically, in a zerg the quality would automatically drop while on smaller fights it would raise, this would be done client side so no impact on the servers.

And like this you could actually have the name plates off, I don’t like to have them on but if I turn them off I automatically get in a disadvantage point because they are such a give away.

I agree with the RvR not being as good as it could be right now.
Before anything, and because it would be easy to implement, they should improve the other dungeons to be as rewarding as CoF, it’s gone to a point where CoF P1 is nearly the only dungeon people are running.

You can set them pretty low and most importantly, lock the frame rate at 30.

Unlimited mine ranges from +100 to 10.
Limited it sticks at 30 (obviously) but it never goes under 20 even on wvw with hundreds on players on screen.

My guess is because the frame rate is limited, the GPU is able to stay cooler and when really heavy duty hits it will be more able than it would be if it had been processing +90FPS seconds before.

How are you supposed to get the precursors?

You can get gold easily just by playing the game, go towards 100% map and instead of running pass everything, fight all the mobs and gather from every node.

Granted its not the fastest way to make gold, but imo is the most fun, farming a spot days on end is definitely a no for me, I’d be bored to death by the 2nd day and honestly in a game with such an amazing art direction staying in one place instead of enjoying it all is rather criminal.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot, precursors drop in many places, they just have a rare chance, so you can, again, get them just by playing.
And legendary weapons aren’t spouse to be for everyone, that’s what makes them special, imo the only one that looks properly good is The Predator, all the others are silly (like bows and gun) or over the top.

I don’t have a Mesmer but all I’m gonna say is STOP TRYING TO NERF EVERYTHING every time I come to check the suggestions forum is nerf this nerf that, the Elementalist got really screwed after the last one (and thats another profession I don’t play) more often than not when you nerf something you screw builds and force players to rethink or worst, regear.

Hell the other day there was a guy demanding a nerf on Barrage (#5 Longbow Ranger) as if it wasn’t weak enough already, easy to evade and with a huge channeling.

I don’t think ANET will change it because that wouldn’t be fair for those that got it already.

Besides, it only takes a coordinated attack to capture which ever tower you’re missing and get that Vista, try to talk to people stock up on siege and get cracking.

Why still downed state in WvW?

…. you lost all your life in every other game but this one that means dead XD so now the life bar counts for nothing. Downed is when you get knocked down. Dead is when you lose all your life. I have seen a warrior rally 5 times using his third downed skill and rejoining his group to kill someone. I have played thief in a fight downed warrior. Another guy runs over to help him and now warrior uses rally two vs 1 instead of the 1 vs 1 that it should have been now i have to fight the warrior all over again.

You never rally with full HP, so it’s not “all over again”, then you have a mechanic in game so the more times you get down the less HP you have on down state & rally (that little down arrow on the health sphere).

This is just how the game was build, I’d imagine everyone here complaining about it have had several kills taken away because of this and that makes them mad.
But I bet when they save themselves with the same mechanics they are despising here (like kill an NPC to rally, etc) they get a big grin on their faces, do you guys seriously give up when you get in the down state? I’ve NEVER seen anyone doing that, and this short of mechanic was present in other games before GW2 came out, so nothing new and unic like a user was suggesting.

I always say to people complaining about how easy the game is to get in common (white) low level gear.
You can transmutate it to a nicer skin with Stones (that are plentiful) and there you have it problem solved.

Bot Hot Spots

I’ve seen more and more bots that basically teleport from node to node to farm them.

You can’t even get a lock on them to report, because an area may have +-3 nodes right there that you can see and the bot will farm, but then its just gone and theres no way to keep up and find them again.
