I wouldn’t like to see rare or exotic minis with a slight advantage even tough I have a few.
To me they could do like the “capture the flag” activity on wintersday, where you pick a “class” at every respwan and that determines the abilities of the mini, the looks are just aesthetic.
Given that the Inquest beat us into Dry Top, how much do they know?
Know enough to have zone green on CE running for a while and subject alpha with some Mordremoth “powers” when zone blue is still under construction because they are clueless about the deep sea dragon.
If you wanna talk about more design faults you can unequip your aquabreather and still be fine underwater.
Theres even one thats just an helmet.
If you start nip picking this whole thing falls apart so better stick with suspension of disbelief.
Those six orbs could represent anything—the Dragons, the Gods, the Gods’ Realms, we have no idea.
It says in our journal it represents the dragons, and before you say it, no, I don’t think our character would write it down by mistake.
And the orb in the end that “attacks” the center one, I think thats just Zaithan dying, not Mordremoth.
Why could it mean?
A number of reasonable things, maybe that will make the others stronger, or imbalance something, what ever it is it’s gonna be something simple and reasonably explained.
This whole “Pale Tree ultimate boss” doesn’t make any sense since there’s at least another fairly close, and possibly many more around the planet.

The meta is berserker DPS and when it comes to that formula warriors do it best. Anything else and you’re sub par and gimping yourself. This isn’t a troll post, I’ve played every profession (excluding engi) up to level 40 and played a necro/ele/warrior at 80 in full exotics. Warriors are pure faceroll. Walk up, smash a button or two and you walk away with a mob kill and 90% health. Other classes need to bounce around, worry about placing skills or their health bar. In fact, I never even use my healing skill because the regeneration on it does the work for me.
If the game welcomed builds other than berserkers then the other professions would be worth playing, but ATM everyone should just play a warrior.
Really? No offence but that kind of warrior is the type that shouts for people in AC to stack for spider (even tough it doesn’t work anymore) then gets all frustrated and joins the fight in the open thinking “bunch of noobs” so he jumps on the spider like its a trash mob, no condi clear, no healing, no dodging, basically doing is normal rotation until he just dies.
Now he’s really mad, after all the only way he’s dead on the ground is because everyone else sucks because he’s playing “optimal”, he then uses his free time to complain in chat, possibly picking the lowest AP person and trying to kick that person.
Or, just like a Guardian did a few days ago in CE, come out with the remark “is everyone here under 500 AP?”
Never mind she had 2k while everyone else had 4k+, just because she died in the Alpha AoE because she can’t dodge, others are to blame, she was optimal!
Would have been easier to exclude legendaries from the wardrobe, you could have them account bound to swap around, but no reskin other weapons with a legendary look.
While AP may not be the best way to judge someone’s skill, it’s the best we have.
And since AP is part of bragging rights which keeps people playing, forget about having the option to hide it.
As for unlimited daily AP, not only it’s time gated, its limited to 10k which is wrong IMO but that’s another argument.
Now let me share a true story, a few months ago I pug’ed CE and one of the guys was one of the top AP leaderboards.
Front page, top half, not gonna say the name for obvious reasons, what I’ll say is the guy was playing a Mesmer and dying all over the place.
Don’t know if he was new to the class, having a bad day or what, I just know in that day on that run he was playing like he was right off the boat.
Maybe he spends so much time after AP he forgets that he has to learn to play.
For the OP, the solution has been presented, create your own party so you can play it your way.
I never played GW1 and I’m sick of Cantha already with all these threads about it.
I’d like to see them all blocked for a week or two, not permanently.
But since a certain character made certain adjustments so certain things don’t get attracted and mess with WP that likely won’t happen.
I really wished this was just a game mechanic, the idea of “I’m in the Cursed Shore and the next second Divinity’s Reach” really takes away from the travel a great distance and be very far away in a really dangerous place.
Having that said you’ve posted everything there is to know about them, what other questions do you have?
As for thoughts, I think it would be cool to have them all but major city ones disabled for 2 weeks as part of the LS2.
Try fighting outnumbered so they don’t run away until they really start to lose, you can’t really blame anyone for trying to escape a 4v1.
The goal is pretty much to allow the freedom of any and all players to accomplish something in game without having to resort to having assistance to keep from being ganged up on or have to deal with low populations in a place where they have no interest in of being in, but seek to accomplish an achievement that requires them to venture into.
Your heart might be in the right place, but for someone that’s completed the all the WvW maps (EB, BL*3) 5 times this sounds unfair to say the least.
It’s like you are asking for a free PhD because studying is hard but you really want one.
The requirement for WvW maps was there on day 1, if it was added later then you’d have grounds to complain.
LOL. You want 2 hours on FRIDAY where people aren’t allowed to play wvw so you can map complete?
Yup.
No we want REAL Guild Wars 2 = GvG
It’s called Guild Wars because in the old days the Humans factions from Kryta, Orr and Ascalon were at war with each other, that’s where the name comes from.
Imagine trying to organise three large guilds to compete at the same time. You’d be lucky to get one match a week.
My thoughts exactly.
No more WxWxW. We use only the maps to preserve PvE as it is.
There are several guilds and a lot of “foreveralones”.
It´s only and classic “open PvP” among guilds, parties or factions from any server (megaserver), not among servers. Yes, 1×1 duels too.No more zergs but battles everywhere for territories, areas, new objectives, dangerous quests, you decide.
It would be fun, hard and good to play everyday.
What’s exactly wrong with “foreveralones”? You think your need for group approval is somehow a superior and more valid attitude in any way than playing content alone and only pug when strictly needed?
Not to mention, you just described WvW AS IS, “battles everywhere for territories, areas, new objectives, dangerous quests”.
People CHOOSE to have only 1 commander tag up, there’s nothing stopping you having more and devide the zerg in 2, 3, 4… while still having small groups going around sniping stuff, that’s a dangerous quest for you, go take all the enemy supply camps in EB.
This is exactly the kind of thing they should try in EotM, you know that map they created after so many people complained about how week long battles were stupid and night cap was killing it and they should do shorter smaller scale stuff? The one that players grabbed hold on and immediately turned into farm fest and Anet doesn’t nerf because there be no end to complains?
Exactly, that one, and once you see this idea of GvGvG is a fantasy that will never really work, then you can move on.
Alternatively instead of wasting away resources and money from a company that doesn’t have all that much to throw away to begin with, why not pick up your guild and move to low tier servers where there are no huge zergs around?
I love how the options op presents are negative.
Also love people saying how they rather get killed a lot and have “fun” as if thats any true, and lastly I love the remarks of some people on how they roam solo to duel.
Guess what, as far as WvW is concerned, thats very useless, second only to afk on WP.
Not to mention you’ll almost always gonna find yourself outnumbered.
WvW is won by either joining the big group, or supporting the big group with supplies, building/refreshing siege, snipe dolly/camps, scout and report the enemy zerg location, etc.
Roaming around looking for duels adds nothing, those 5 stomps you might pull out an hour are neglectable.
Right now is not so bad because of the low % of players, but when you have 100+ queue…
So for those that do solo duel you may get off your high horse of delusional superior skill, if anything engaging multiple targets in a big fight can be much more demanding since there’s A LOT more going on.
Even the times I spend an hour siegeing up say Bay ALONE are more productive for the server than duels.
If I were you I’d keep doing dungeons, and not just AC, SE 1&3, HotW 1, CE 2&3, CoF 1&2 all of these are easy when you know how, I pug them most days without a problem, if you ignore the fact that no one carries the banners.
The truth is, thanks to grinders it will likely get more and more expensive, I remember when I drop the Tooth of Frostfang I sold it for 350 gold thinking the price might drop thanks to precursor crafting, now a days it’s about 800 gold.
I wonder how many got the hint dropped A.Net dropped in the beginning LS2 story. The hint was the Zephyrites are disciples of Glint. That is a HUGE hint drop.
Actually they dropped it on the first week the Zephyrites showed up, on season one.

As for paid updates, no, I rather have this system a lot more.
The reason I’m still playing is because of living story, if I had to wait a year for an update I’d stop and forget about it frankly, this way there’s always something new every two weeks or so.
That’s what I call end game content, not grind meaningless numbers to infinity while waiting for an expansion that’s burn out in 3 weeks and back to grind nothingness, text book threadmill.
And then you guys wonder how come the devs don’t post more often…
By the way, the idea of having to craft a legendary seriously needs to be dropped.
I’ve been playing since release and I don’t have any, because I don’t like any of them. I even got a precursor to drop on Jormag and I just sold the thing.
What I’d love to see is a completely new set of legendaries, made to be realistic weapons twice the polygon count, larger skin, scabbard on GS that woukd actually stay on the back
I can imagine these being acquired with 400 laurels, why?
Laurels are something you have to work towards everyday, no RNG, no gold sink, no market manipulation, no credit card short cuts and generally weasel around for a legendary.
@darwin.2790
You can’t dodge her teleportation projectile attack that deals ~15k damage. It can only be blocked, which not all classes are capable of doing (necromancer/thief).
Maybe you mean you can’t, because it is possible.
Besides that, how about investing on some defensive stats? Or you’re the kind of person that thinks a dead-on-the-ground full zerker is more useful that a soldier hybrid?
Did it with my Warrior, 0 stability, get off the AoEs, and when they cover the entire rock JUMP, up and down, not off the rock.
Since we’re asking to bring back stuff, bring back the Wide Rim Glasses.
Rox Quiver was a temporary ‘prestige’ item, the glasses where removed just because there was “too much” stuff on the style section and was making navigation hard, they took down many items on that patch that I’m sure people would buy them now since they’re usable in combat.
I didn’t notice anything either and my internet is nothing special.
There has been mention of a GW2 expansion in NCSoft earnings conference calls since ever.
It seems obvious that the original plan for GW2 future development changed with the higher than expected amount of gem store revenue.
It might have been focused on expansions before release, but now, while expansions aren’t completely out of the picture, it is quite possible that Anet/NCSoft figured that free episodic content, with or without occasional expansions, will be more profitable.
I MUCH rather free episodic content than year+ apart expansions with nothing to do but repeat the same content a billion times just to raise some numbers that at the end of the day mean nothing.
Gear threadmill is not end game content, it’s just a threadmill.
The free content I got from GW2 was worth to any other company packing up and sell, not only I got all that for free, it was phased in so I got to properly explore and experience instead of having to blow half of it just to “keep up”, read, on launch it was hard doing any group content on low-mid maps because people were rushing to 80 as soon as possible.
Get out your credit cards! More RNG boxes for sale!
No one us twisting your arm to buy black lion keys.
You can farm these keys and this company is cool enough to say “thats ok” instead of nerfing it.
If you buy some in hopes for a ticket to get an 100 gold skin you can sell and then it flops, that’s on you for gambling and not buying the skins you “want” directly.
Same with people that say “there’s nothing legendary about buying a precursor, so I’m gonna buy 100 gold worth of swords and throw them on the mystic forge”.
And when that flops they do another 100 and another and so on and at the end they jump on the forums to complain how they ended up spending more money doing that than the actual precursor, again, it’s called gambling, by default the odds are against you.
WvW might have a bit fewer people now. But that might have to do with several things:
1: It is summer.
2: There is no Season going on.
3: There haven’t been any big updates in the game for some time, so people don’t play much overall.I also seem to recall having posts about WvW is dying basically at the same day the game was released, and yet it is still there with rather long queues at times.
Exactly, when both season 1 and 2 hit you had 50+ queue on BL, 100+ on EB.
The “problem” is people get their achievements and get outta there, and then you have the dedicated players trying to cover 3BL, EB annnnd EOTM, so no wonder right now with no achievements to get the game mode feels a bit dead, but rest a sure there are still plenty of people, you should see the freaking blob SFR had going yesterday.
Maybe Anet coders will release seamless transitions between zones with the release of the dx11.1 update(Most likely now dx12 update, but cant confirm yet).
This is offtopic, i would like to know if this is true. Are they really upgrading to dx11?
I really don’t think so and even if they did it wouldn’t work like you guys are thinking.
Every major villain wannabe in gw2 is a sylvari, Canach, Scarlet now another one A… something < already forgot his name as I write here. Seems like Pale Tree is losing his flock
Not to mention that I hope anet is learning something by now, Canach was a miserable fail to portrayal a villian, Scarlet was a mary sue… now lets see this one how they fail him. Apparently this new villian lost his mind too, verry original, we just get rid of the last crazy silvary two months ago. Clearly the grove needs a mental institution in the next patch
Canach was never evil, he was like Batman, expect he didn’t just beat people up, he killed some too.
As for Scarlet and Aerin if you paid attention to the story you’ll see that they’re just “the tip of the ice berg”, I’m still not excluding Sylvari as minions regardless of what the permanent residents of the lore forum said, they’d “disprove” beyond reasonable doubt countless times that Scarlet had nothing to do with Dragons or leylines and look how that turned up to them.
And before someone thinks about saying Husks are the minions, Primordus has Trolls, Crabs and Harpies (that didn’t sound good) very different amongst themselves so that’s no reason do discard Sylvari right away.
And by the way, Aerin is dead already so you aren’t going to get to see “how they fail him” but rest a sure, I bet more will come.
For not much thanks to game design and mind set.
The ferocity made people stronger in low level areas and barely any weaker in lvl 80 areas, more than ever Bezerker (and Knight) is the way to go until we start getting content where we actually need to Tank damage.
I’ll give you an example, when the patch hit and I saw an achievement to survive 15 seconds on quick sand I thought “Nice!” when I went over there with my Sentinel/Soldier wasn’t so nice after all because guess what? The thing takes 12% of HP, so the more you have the faster you’ll die because you can’t heal up that fast, the less HP the better.
And over all across the game the time you “buy” with survivability doesn’t compensate the damage loss.
Take CoF P1 as an example, to open the gate while standing inside the bubbles a Bezerker will clear off the mobs in a second and take no damage, a Soldier will take for ever and get his HP to half.
So I don’t really see this being a success, if they introduced a Crit Damage (major) Power, Ferocity, now that would make people excited and then automatically rage like there was no tomorrow because their Zerker would be “useless” and “give us a one time ability to change the stats in my ascended gear”, so if I was Anet I wouldn’t do it at all and avoid all the drama and maybe thats what they’re doing already.
I also noticed with surprise the Maguuma killer didn’t move o.O
There’s been 2 patches since I tried so maybe they’ve fixed it by now.
This will surely be in the gem store, you work in game for the stats and pay for the looks.
But if you don’t feel like paying real money you can always work in game for gold and exchange for gems.
Only if you haven’t done that in a while you’re in for a surprise, yesterday I saw that to buy a new char you’ll have to part ways with over 100 gold!?
I remember buying one for 20 gold, thanks grinders/champtrains/Obama.
(…)Oh, you’re one pixel to the side? Slide to death!(…)
Actually GW2 is very forgiving in that aspect to the point where you can have both feet cleared off a platform and still be “standing” on it.
It’s not so much trial and error as it may first appear and when you know how you can do it with ease.
Combat is more demanding than jumping, if anything you need the reflexes of a fly for the combat not to mention fast decision making.
There are crystals everywhere, so although they are on a timer that only matters on the final stretch to get to the goggles to jump down for the water, like wise the most demanding jumpings are to get on optional areas.
As everything just practice, took me 2 hours to get the vista on EB green gari the first time, now I can do it in a minute.
I don’t mean to be rude but it looks like you’re complaining for the sake of complaining.
Here’s the chat link [&C3gVAAA=]
That sword is too big to be a katana, it is closer to be a nodachi.
Every sword in GW2 is over the top, were you expecting this to be any different?
Hell, even some daggers look at big as a real sword would ^^
Did you notice how when she has it on her back, it’s IN a sheath? Unlike… well ANY other weapon we’ve had so far (at least that are normal blades).
First sheath in the game.
Yes! I love it
But what happens to the scabbard once you draw the sword?
Its called saya, and it dissapears, the good thing is, its a GS so the hands are holding it bang on the money unlike with swords.
Here’s my theory of season two.
Mai Trin decides to attack the Zephirites to steal all the goodies they’re flying away with (after all, she’s the sky pirates captain) in the process of looting the sanctum she discovers that the secret behind the Zephirs powerful magic is the remains of a Dragon.
Fueled by hunger for power Mai Trin decides to go after Mordremoth to kill him and claim his remains infusing herself and her sky pirates with magical power beyond anything they could imagine and it’s up to us to stop her from doing this and Mordremoth himself at the same time from destroying anything he might be heading towards.
Nice, maybe I’ll hold on to mine and see whats what in the future.
(…)It is so easy to level in GW2 I honestly think you should be reset to level 1 honestly there would be no zerkers then and Anet would finally be able to dish out loot for bosses. End game wise it only takes you like 2 weeks to make an 80. Would remove a lot of boredum that is for sure.
Thats the ticket, oh wait people already complain about leveling and alt and are CONSTANTLY making suggestions on how to (essentially) remove leveling from GW2.
Imagine getting reset to level 1 every time you die, you couldn’t use your gear anymore for at least 2 weeks, nor play any content.
As is you can’t find pugs for most dungeon paths, even the easy ones are filled with elitists and to me that was always a good way to check the pulse of an MMO.
I always shake my head in disappointment when I see a 1k AP guy demanding (while he lays dead on the ground mind you) to kick a 15k AP one just because he so happens to be in a lvl 70 toon on lets say AC…
While you might think heavy penalties for death is a good thing, I believe you’re only saying that because you haven’t put enough thought on it.
But since ascended gear is account bound now you can do a little experiment, delete your toon every time you die.
Your name is saved for a while so you can rename the new one the same, your ascended gear will be safe and exotic, well that’s easy to get.
So do that then let us know how many times you did it before you realized it’s an awful bad idea, my guess is after reading this you won’t do it even once to see whats it like.
(…)Full celestial gear with runes of lyssa, yes the all-stats one that every one considers inferior.(…)
You wanna talk about inferior I used a Warrior in Sentinel, GS/LB.
44 seconds left in the clock when I got her.
I have to upload that video as soon as I can make some cool editing.
MGS4 did try to go that way, it was (as always) game mechanics.
There are technical reasons why EU and NA don’t play together.
Besides that “go helping a struggling team” will not catch the interest of many players, as is you can even have a queue but the people on the map will stay in the keep idle or pretending to do something if they’re being beaten on the field.
Lastly, pro WvW? You know how many treads about “Gendara was declared a winner before the torney started because it was the only EU English server with free transfers” there is?
You’d basically get guilds teaming up, and a lot of solo players getting the wiser of where to go.
So it would be #1 place, the clever people, the rest just the guys that didn’t know any better.
Something like that would only work (maybe) on EOTM but only if it randomized the players placement for the 2 hour match.
Pay 10 gold to enter, get 30 if you win.
I’ll never understand why the players feel this need of having anet holding their hands and talking directly to them at every minute.
Anet is a company, the devs and mods can’t speak their mind on their own for the company because when they do they make the PR people very angry because then they have to issue an apology and spend money making an arena…
You said it yourself OP, you don’t have a lot of experience, since launch they’ve banned hundreds of thousands of accounts for exploit/hacks/gold selling.
They’ve also patched all the exploits/hacks they could.
They ARE aware, and they DO take action. The problem is tracing these and put a patch in place, that takes many working hours and a lot of detective work.
Even if you sent them a video, they still have to figure out exactly how that was done.
So rest assure, just because they don’t phone or fax you a report every other hour, they are working on it.
Lastly, rewards? Really? That would just inundate them with false reports for people that don’t know any better.
Just have the sword leap, GS 3 and GS 5 require a target. If they are gap “closers” make them that, not escapes.
Even if they made it like that, what’s stopping me from aiming at a bunny far away and hit War GS #5 to get away?
Not to mention that would just limit “smart play”.
I hate having 1500 range and see a warrior go away unkilled as much as everyone else, but I hate nerfs even more than that.
The problem is exploits, as always.
Imagine you’d get guarantee champ loot from stomp.
What’s stopping you from teaming up with a player from another server and rez rush to him without armor and let yourself be killed?
At places you can get very close without the fear of other people attacking, so we’re talking about less than a minute per box with no down time.
“Put a debuff, a player only drops a champ bag once per 15 minutes”
That would be another thing the server would need to keep track.
“Maybe it could be tracked client side”
No, insta hack.
As much as I’d like better rewards, that’s something hard to put in place thanks to a certain kind of people.
The Outnumbered buff could use some serious buffing since as is it’s completely useless.
It’s giving you a marginal reward assuming you can do anything, which you can’t really, all you can hope for is camps and sentries close to home.
I’d like to see it give some serious HP buff, because since you’re greatly outnumbered, chances are you’ll find yourself… greatly outnumbered.
Three or four times your normal HP sounds about right to me.
I think that megabosses are a bad idea.
Many people can not run them due to fps issues. Personally, I get around 12 fps on lowest settings on most of them and my rig is pretty good. Nothing to write home about but good enough that I usually run on max settings when doing other content. I know for fact that this an issue because everytime I do one of these events people in map chat are having conversations about their low fps and how it should be running better because their computer has X, Y, and Z.
Try setting character detail to low and character limit to lowest.
It’s the last check boxes on the graphics options.
Well, it started out talking about performance issues, which is a legitimate concern, and hopefully they can fine tune that with the networking team, and perhaps tuning mega server thresholds.
Low FPS has nothing to do with networking, not the way you are thinking anyway.
It gets low because your screen gets busy.
As for improvements I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Honestly I don’t get it why they didn’t left the town clothes as they were.
(…)It was nerfed further when badge farming became easy in EOTM.(…)
That’s the only time it was popular really, people wanted their Legendaries because for some reason they think they have to get a silly skin.
“Winning badges from fights? That’s for suckers, party up with mesmers and lets get dem badges of jumping!.. honor”
So you want pve players and ap hunters in WvW more often?
No.. I want new players who need an incentive to come and try WvW, like what they experience, and so stay to become experienced WvW players who will add to our WvW experience..
This is my idea exactly.
The reality is dedicated WvW players (like me if I can say so myself) are too few.
I’ve seen mention of how they mess up, they mess up because they don’t know any better, because they drop by every other month, because they have no reason to do other wise.
Making it a more regular thing would allow them enough play time to actually learn.
And about AP hunters that would come and go quickly, how is that a bad thing?
If they don’t like it very much they’d go away quick enough, while other players could actually start to enjoy the game mode on their own for what it is.
The short-bow on thief is a must have, gives you great mobility and AoE for the group fights in WvW.
That said you shouldn’t build for it because there are more important and useful things, but you should definitely have it.
