Stop me if I say something terribly wrong.
Fractals use to go only till level 50, you could cheat your way up with exploits you could go higher, but you weren’t spouse to or it was never intended.
When fractals got reworked and reset they did so for everyone, it was pretty much a new page, something unlike the thing before, so the old levels you might have had meant little or nothing.
What exactly would you want as compensation and why?
I don’t like any of them.
Maybe The Predator, but I don’t actively use a rifle on any of my characters.
In the early days they were rare and had some bragging rights, now that’s gone whats the point really?
They honestly just look more and more silly.
A few weeks ago I was running AC and a guy there with 2,5K AP and a Twilight was playing as bad as he could, so it’s not even a symbol of dedication anymore, it’s just a stupid thing people get for the “look at me”.
This reminds me of the Teq revamp, word got out that Blackgate got him, loads of people all across NA servers started guesting there waiting countless of hours trying to get on main.
Mean while, apparently, the top Blackgate guilds were guesting on other servers killing Teq there while main BG (full of guests) was failing.
Anyway, back to WvW, I think Anet could give some incentive for players to move down on tiers.
Before anything, moving to a lower ranking server would be free.
Then incentives like extra WXP.
Before the Edge of the Mists I’ve always thought a “mercenary” system where guest on other servers to fight in WvW would be a nice way to go around queues in your WvW home server.
Still, after EotM I think there’s still a place for a system like this, this could be controlled and gated, say 20 outside players per each server on a matchup, 1 hour window.
They’d go in, get double the WXP, the outside team (of the 3) with more points at the end of the hour would get extra rewards.
This could also be a very nice way for top WvW players to show some strategies to lower tier ones.
1. Aggressive kick for inactive players in “hot” maps.
Before anything, autorun against a wall wouldn’t prevent the inactive stat.
Secondly, a map generating overflows would be flagged as “hot”, in a map like that players would be warned after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Even if they resume playing, the next warning for inactivity would come if they stayed inactive for 5 minutes, then 1.
Annoying? If you’re actively playing you won’t see any messages.
If you are inactive that much in a full map that’s generating overflows maybe you should give your spot to someone that’s actively playing.
2. Main server bebuff.
This is more for psychological effects for the players that acquired a overly exaggerated hate towards overflows, and to ensure more people can access their main server.
Basically after 4 hours of playing on a main server thats generating overflows, a player would get a debuff that would set him lower in the queue
priority vs someone who haven’t been in a main, that debuff could last 24 or 48 hours.
3. Overflow merge.
The system would identify if an overflow is getting it’s population too thin and prompt a message suggesting the players there to be merged with another, basically not leave in the hands of a player to try to find a better alternative.
Ok first off im not going to bother responding to most of your rant because it is quit obvious that you dont know anything about what your talking about, you probably just like to hear yourself talk.
I do know what I’m talking about, lets see how much you know about what you are talking about.
First some facts:
(…)Yet another long rant only proving again that you dont know what you are talking about and this time that you didnt even read what I wrote. Only enough of it to continue ranting even more.(…)
Can you even read?
You’ve claim I said things I didn’t and you haven’t answered a SINGLE question from my previous posts, not 1.
If that’s your best, your best won’t do.
And unlike you I’ve already made a suggestion that could be implemented and would improve the game experience immensely.
uh huh, so since this update went live, have you been in your main server at all??? As ive been stuck in OF all day everyday, and ive never seen the pop up to move to the main server yet, and as many others are saying the same thing, its just way to easy to AFK into a main server and sit there all day doing nothing, or just rolling the events, and I have no doubt at all that if you where stuck in an OF server that was failing time and time again, you could easily move to another server/main.(…)
Theres a simple solution for this, before anything autorun against a wall shouldn’t prevent a kick by inactivity.
Then, more aggressive time windows on full main servers that stack, you get a warning after 10 minutes of inactivity, even if you resume activity the next one will come after 5, and then 2.
Annoying? If you’re playing you won’t see any of these, if you are afk so much there’s a line of people very willing to play.
Lastly, hot maps (like LA right now) should have a presence cool down, say 4 hours, after that your priority to get in the main server would be less than someone who hasn’t been there at all.
(…)
How do you gauge a good overflow? How about you try MAKING one? Explaining to your peers what to do, and how, and in what order? It’s possible, you know. And when the popular and well informed commanders aren’t on, you don’t have a win-guarantee on main, either – even if they are there you might still fail due to stupid participants in the current round. There are no guarantees, but you can work toward giving everyone a good chance.
Making your own overflow/instance is a boter dream.
Public ones that anyone can join you say, so you don’t have people hidding? Well that’s just like a normal overflow isn’kitten
How do you screen the “stupid” people out so “everyone has a chance”? Put a little description “1337 only”? Lock it in some way with pre meaningless requisites like AP?
What’s stopping people from creating piles of overflows because everyone else’s “stupid”?
And after all that, how would it give the people there a better chance exactly? What’s to say people would actually listen? Or even survive the fight while genuinely trying?
Ok first off im not going to bother responding to most of your rant because it is quit obvious that you dont know anything about what your talking about, you probably just like to hear yourself talk.
I do know what I’m talking about, lets see how much you know about what you are talking about.
First some facts:
Most people like to jump on new content.
GW2 can’t have 1000’s of players per map so everyone is on main.
With that said, overflows are necessary, it’s either them or loading screens.
Now you have an above average attitude when you say you don’t mind overflows, but you quickly add, “AS LONG AS THERES HALF DECENT PLAYERS THERE”.
So, as long as you could hop, because you’re a winner and you don’t wanna be in the losing team, everything would be perfect, right? Because you could side with the winners.
So Anet should put as many working hours as it would take to implement this, a system where you can freely choose what ever overflow you like.
That way, you could be in one that would be populated with “at least half decent players” so you could win.
All you would need to do was choose a good overflow right?
Now tell me, how exactly do you gauge this? How exactly would you, practically speaking, devide players and freely choose a good overflow?
If they win? Don’t they need to win first before you actually know they’re winners? What guarantees you they’ll win it again the next time?
Not to mention, with a system like this you would no longer have, lets say, two overflows 51 players in one, 50 on another.
You’d have one with 100 and another with 1, so not only you’d have the main to full capacity, overflows would instantly get on full capacity as well, what then? Stand around looking at a drop box waiting for 1 spot to clear to get in? Because what would stop players from filling overflows to the brim effectively stopping you from getting in them anyway?
That’s without a shadow of a doubt a much better system than the current one.
And by the way, after the working hours and all the problems this new system would bring, what would happen when the events failed anyway? What would you blame then for the failed events?
Two things here. You need more skill and knowledge if you gonna play full DPS. You need to know what to do in each encounter to survive because if you just stand there you gonna die. Not everybody should go full DPS and usually a couple of knight pieces of armor will make you a better player. Because its true a dead DPS is no dps. If you can have the biggest DPS and stay alive then good for you. But don’t stay full DPS if you can’t stay up.
Also, what the guys said is partially right. Some strategy only work if the party does enough DPS. If the party don’t do enough DPS, full DPS player will die even if they are freaking good. The point where the guys was wrong is to put that on the other member of the party. It was his job to figure out that the party didn’t had enough DPS and he should had use another strategy. Full DPS only work if you know what you do and have the skill to back up your lack of defense.
Last time I heard an argument like that I was trying to teach people how to fight Teq.
Now without trying to argue with you, even because at the core of it we are on the same page, I’ll say it again.
Full DPS doesn’t work.
Now you think I’m crazy, I’m not.
These full zerker Warrior runs rely on overpowering CoF, a level 75 dungeon designed to be doable by level 75 players on Masterwork gear.
So they rely on basically, like the OP admited, kill the enemy before he has time to deal any damage and for that they all need to be in full zerker heavily dependant of one another and unable to sustain a fight if it lasts too long.
This content was never intended to be played like this, so the enemies were never balanced to deal with the over the top damage of a party like that can do.
If Anet ever introduced the so cried for “hardmode” this strategy would fall short because as is they (the players) can already drop very quickly if anything goes wrong because they have no survivability.
And the ones that are clever enough not to drop just pull away and deal no damage because lets face it, a rifle or longbow doesn’t have pretty enough numbers for them to even consider, and so it starts the pointing the finger game to assign the blame.
So again, in short, full zerker doesn’t work because it relies heavily on overpowering content.
I’ll leave the challenge for anyone reading this, if you are in full zerker and you think you’re great, come with me to solo some champs and lets see which one of us can get further.
Now to your point again, “Full DPS only work if you know what you do and have the skill to back up your lack of defense” that’s not always true, you can only blind dodge and block so many times.
In places of the game you’ll need to take a hit or have someone taking one for you, doesn’t matter how skilled you are, sometimes you can’t run for ever and full zerker set will only take you so far.
The pale tree being a champion of Mordremoth would be a pretty awesome twist. It would also prove the Nightmare Court right in that Ventari’s tablet has turned them away from their true nature.
Not a very good champion if you needed someone to plant it and then wait ~200 years for it to mature to the point that it starts popping out minions.
A troll could have sat on it when it was a small sapling and then there goes your champion.
If you go in the lore forum they’ll use this to disprove the theory.
What people aren’t getting is the tree itself DOESN’T NEED TO BE A CHAMP, Destroyers come from eggs, the tree might just be the means to spawn minions, nothing else.
It has a conscious so by the time Sylvari are “born” they’re already mature and fully capable. And it’s not “evil” thanks to Ventari table.
We know there are other trees, how are they? The Ventari table was a random event, the only Sylvari we know that came from another tree is neither here nor there really.
A common problem people present is how would that impact new Sylvari? Doesn’t need to, even if it’s confirmed they’re Dragon minions, creating a new one and playing doesn’t need to be changed, the nightmare court around Tyria can also remain the same without any change to mechanics.
Last but not least, that looked more like a croc than a dragon, hope it looks cooler in game.
+10000
I hate it there, try laying down Barrage on max distance, if you mouse over it forget about aiming, that AoE is gonna end up in your feet.
It’s always funny reading something like this.
Ask anyone how to build a profession and they’ll say “go full, this game doesn’t provide a means of agro, so tank is useless and so is healer”.
Alright then, toss them zerker Warriors with GS & A/A in a pit with a champ (Mario platforms), what do you get? Them running for dear life and 0 damage, “but but, it works on a dummy and in zergs I can hit for a million damage I tell you”.
It’s true that GW2 isn’t spouse to be a holy trinity game, that ALSO means it’s not spouse to be full DPS.
You might be able to one shot trash mobs, and flatten CoF with a party of them, but that’s about it.
In a non full zerker party, 1 full zerker is actually dragging the team down, he spends half his time running or dead on the ground, how much damage is he doing then? Not to mention when someone has to stop to rez them up.
I remember a few weeks ago in AC we had a Warrior in a party 2,5K AP and already with a Legendary, full zerker no doubt.
You know what he did in the run? Dead most of the time (not joking, he wasn’t lasting 15 second on any boss) and the entire time nagging on /p chat to get a guy that was level 78 kicked, a guy that by the way was alive and well.
You gotta love the full zerker mentality, “I only died because you weren’t doing enough damage”, so now other players have to baby sit you? What happened to each players takes care of himself and is responsible for his survivability?
(…)Only thing is now the map doesnt get purged every hour leaving the majority of people stuck on overflow 15 million no chance of doing anything (…) Listen, the bottom line is that I dont really care if I cant easily get into a main server at any given time, just at least give me the option of please choosing a different overflow (…) it would also be cool if we could keep our spot in waiting for main as while being able to do a overflow hop.
Doubtful as any Anet dev that plays the game can always get into the main server so it doesn’t really affect them does it, (…)I was stuck in an OF server hoping that events would get completed, ( as many others where too )
I hope whoever decided OF was a good idea no longer works for Anet, they should have stuck to the same design as GW1 where it become district 1, 2, 3, 4 etc that allows you to move.
I see a serious case of “the grass is greener on my neighbors yard” here.
What exactly makes you think in the main server things are better or easier?
I’m from Desolation and on the Marionette events I’ve won it more often in overflows, how many times after it, I got back on main and people were complaining they just lost it? A bunch of times.
Then you have the Wurm, more often bugged on main servers you were seriously better on an overflow, not to mention AFK campers.
You lose the events because you just do, and something has to be blamed, why not overflows right? It’s the easy target, lets all blame overflows, it failed because we are in an overflow, because everyone knows only bad players end up on an overflow and there for it is impossible to do anything in it, right?
Remember the Queens Pavilion? It was pretty much impossible to “lose”, I think it was the only time we didn’t get a stock pile of complains about overflows, because it was just brain dead farm #1 spam, any new content that required even the slightest tiny little bit of coordination, people instantly blame the fails on overflows if they are in one, on main, well… something.
People seriously need to get this idea of main=good, overflow=bad out of their heads, events WILL fail, they fail just as often on main servers.
Now here’s a funny thing, last night I was in an overflow, and a user was complaining about it as usual.
I’ve mention to him that if it wasn’t for overflows, he’d be waiting on a queue in a loading screen, this way he was playing.
He went ahead and replied he’d rather be in a loading screen because “that way at least Anet had to recognize the problem and buy better servers to fix it”.
So his solution was to have even more people stock piled in 1 map doing these events…
Now I’m asking you guys, whats your solution? Think having more people per map so you could be in a holy main would be it? You mention server hop, what’s that for? Finding the “winning” team and piggy back along?
The only real problem of overflows are the language barrier, and that’s only an excuse in Europe.
Everything else is just a sore loser excuse and the need people have to point the finger.
Just look at Teq, 10 players on west turret, 10 on east, rest at his feet, pull back to defend, repeat.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, or it should be if most people didn’t jump on meta zerker and stay dead on the ground most of the combat, that’s an overflow issue right? I mean it must be, has to, what else could possibly be the problem? Something like that would never happen on a main server ever.
just wait it out, eventually one of the NPCs distracts her and you can just walk up and stomp; it’s what I ended up doing.
If you wait out you don’t get the achievement, took me a bunch of tries but I manage, see if I upload a video montage with fails at it, so close do many times.
The giant drill dominating the western horizon of Lion’s Arch is very, very big – so big, it has led a number to question: Will Mordremoth crawl out of the hole it is drilling?(…)
Stop reading here, if a Dragon is gonna crawl out of there, is gonna be Primordus, where are people getting Mordremoth from?
From below Lion’s Arch?
I said IF.
Why, IF any, would be Primordus?
It’s the only Dragon that “hangs out” underground, it’s gotta be somewhere.
Again, big IF, now a why.
Why under LA? Honestly I think it would be cool if the story when back to Dragons, BUT I think above anything else attacking LA is the devs way to break off the shackles of PS and say “we can do anything”, so that’s why LA.
Yikes, I seriously hope this is just a matter of “they didn’t saw it”.
Flipping the trading post is about the most boring thing you can do in game.
Not to mention the returns aren’t as big as you might think, and there’s a good chance you might even lose money.
And just curious, if you don’t have time to play (because every thing you do in game gives you money, directly or indirectly) how come you want a Sunrise? Just so? The bragging rights aren’t even there anymore, I never liked the skin, with them being as common as they are now theres nothing there.
As for stat change, as of now you can only do it to your weapon, and does anyone seriously uses more than 2 or 3 if not just 1?
I’m just asking because I honestly never got the appeal of a legendary in the first place, and now even less.
Sounds like those guys just wanted to kick you and sell your spot.
It’s like Behellagh, the key is how much you abuse and profit, I don’t think they go after things like you described.
I don’t even think Anet has a way to log what players are doing inside the dungeons for future investigation if anything is reported for that matter.
Didn’t they said they ARE making it more attractive so you’ll go for the 6?
Also, somewhat related, the difference between say back piece and amulet, amount of stats that is, apparently they’re changing it too.
Honestly I think it hurts the game in a way, makes everything more linear and it does kill diversity, the people that spent ages fine tuning their min/max aren’t going to be happy that’s for sure.
This has been suggested several times before and I’d love to have it.
Last time I shorted out my characters inventory it took me an hour, most of which logging in and out, put this, that that.
It would be great for gathering tools (even the normal ones) foods, since on some of my characters I use the same, sharpening stones!
The list goes on and on, it’s basically a QoL thing that would really come in handy.
I think RNG is great, it’s a random system, so all the rare things like precursors are RARE and surprising. For all those who hate RNG what system do you think would be better?
Tokens?
I did the Tequatl fight till I got all the achievements, I would like some of those weapon skins but thanks to RNG I can do it for a year and get nothing.
If you said: look, you get 1 token if it fails, 10 if it succeeds, with ~100 tokens you can get a weapon from a vendor.
That would be a whole different story, I’d actually do it if there was something to look at.
Relying on a system that has plenty of evidence that’s broken is not a good thing.
And I don’t even have one of those “cursed” accounts, I got a precursor from Jormag once, Abyss dye, etc.
(…)I had over 19k health, 2900+ armor, some ascended armor, exotics, and level 80, so no matter what you do or have as gear, it is no match for this Aetherblade(…)
I have over 30K HP on my Warrior and don’t even let me start on how much I can regen a second.
So about “no matter what you do”, no, you’re doing it wrong.
I don’t blame you specifically, just the zerker culture in GW2, people go up against a stand still golem for hours and hours trying to find a way to squeeze a little bit more damage, and then when they go around one shoting mobs they actually get convinced they’re that great.
Before you ask, I can solo those guys.
And to use another one of your lines, I see time and time again people complaining about how there’s no challenge and how much they like a challenge, so there you have it, some challenge. Also, you can easily dodge the guy, you get animation and sound effects warning.
Race: Norn
Gender: Male
Class: Guardian
Armor: Stag Mail
Details: After using a Total Maker Over Kit to alter the appearance of my character, his neck became grayish in a very off tone way, this only happens with the Stag Mail and no other of the several pieces of armor I’ve tested with including town clothes, the problem is specially evident when the skin is spouse to be in the shade.
Also, during previews and cut scenes the problem disappear, only happening in game.
Note: I’ve altered the size of the head (commonly left unchanged I believe) to be larger so it would accommodate the Norns natural large build, I suspect this might have something to do with the shading problem, and no matter the graphic settings max or min, the problem subsists.
The first image shows the Stag Mail bug, along with other samples under the same conditions not bugged.
The second image is from previews and log in screen where again the bug is not present.
Full Armor Set: For the sake of details, I’ll post the name and links to every piece of armor in case that helps in any way.

Actually in one of the camps, Lorna’s Pass if I’m not mistaken, some NPCs mentioned that when the wind changes they’ll make their move.
(…)The main hole in my theory is that the Krait and the Leviathan fit so much better with Bubbles than Mordramoth.
There’s only 1 big thing we know of that lives underground.
The easiest way to do it was have it like it used to be and let players know it’s in the past.
If you take it as a chore, sure it’s frustrating and you’ll have a bad time.
I have 100% map with 2 toons, then 70%, 50%, 40% (roughly).
And all of them have the WvW maps at 100%.
The trick is take your time and enjoy the views.
Just yesterday I went into Brisban Wildlands to do some mapping, thats an area with little going on and I’ve only been there twice, one time for each of my 100%s.
But I remember the first time I was there struggling with my under level/gear Ranger, I remember there are poison berries to collect there with the text that says “double click to poison yourself” that I have on my Warrior and I link every time someone says stupid things.
With farming you can get gold, but exploring will give you memories, 20 years from now you aren’t gonna remember anything good from farming, and what ever you might have bought with the gold is hardly gonna have any meaning.
Alternatively you can just do the event to unlock CoF instead of waiting for others to do it and server hop so much you can’t even keep track of where you are anymore… Just saying…
I think he means champ train “don’t mess up the order”?
People need to get in their heads Queensdale is the human starting area, not farmvile, there’s gonna be 5 slot bags dropping, and there will DEFINITELY be new players around.
I’m sure someone already made one.
Cross server, no rep or ban, just an organized group dedicated to kill the Wurm in EU servers.
You’ll hear people saying Ranger is the worst profession in the game.
The reasons are (including but not limited to) Ranger is the 2nd most played profession, and unlike Warrior (most played) you WILL notice a bad Ranger while a Warrior gets away with a lot of stuff and is overall easier to play.
Also, pets, forget about them, NEVER rely on them, they’re slow to catch up to moving targets, won’t get off an AoE and more often than not their special ability won’t trigger and go into full cool down.
Having all that said my favourite profession is Ranger.
This keeps happening to me and it’s annoying. I just started playing the game. I have no idea why it keeps doing this. I have like 30 items to sell and I have to sit here for 10 minutes to sell items
That might have to do with you trying to sell to the highest buyer, but by the time you press sell that order was filled and no longer available.
This should only happen with really hot items, try something common, also to matching the lowest seller and see if you keep getting the same problem.
If you got that from these forums just go back and ask the user in PM.
Can never stress this enough, it’s the same as ascended (used to be same as exotic).
As far as aesthetics go, I don’t like any of them, maybe the predator, but none of my chars uses a rifle on a regular basis. I honestly never saw the appeal from the beginning.
The bragging rights took a hit when you could start selling them, and now is completely gone with champ train and dungeon sellers.
Speaking of mini pet battles, those could REALLY happen.
Talking about implementation, the player already gets transformed intro things everywhere around the world, no problem there.
As far as skills go, why not something like the snowball one where you get to pick a class?
All thats left are some animations to be made and there you go, pokemon!
And on top of all that I don’t think they are giving exp when you kill them.
That’s maybe because these days they don’t get much time/money for concept art.
That’s something you do on the early development of a game.
I could bet these days any drawings they make are more “technical”, so concept like this is put together hastily and because of that it can never be anything jaw dropping.
If a Dragon is gonna come out of there it won’t be Mordremoth.
Also, maybe Scarlet is trying to bite more than she can chew and what ever may happen to come up will obliterate her marionette and UFO.
Assuming that something does come up, I don’t think that drill could go too deep.
Commander tags are a money sink, sadly, if you could turn them off 80% of them would had never bought it in the first place.
Yesterday there was one just collecting from rumbles and he had his tag on, we see you buddy, but we don’t need to.
Theres no simple way to fix this, but it would start with a refund then working out another way to, preferably, earn them.
I remember seeing a video on YouTube with someone teaching how to exploit a personal story mission to farm gold, “thats how I got my commander tag”, because nothing qualifies you better for it than farming gold right?
They could start by improving the stability.
Then make Team join or Solo join like in PvP.
Have teams registry, uniforms and everything.
With that maybe they could create a community around it, there’s no short of people with too much time that have “nothing” to do in game.

Every main city, and even a lot of explorable areas have crafting stations.
Every main city AND starting area, not just Claypool.
And yes, Ebonhawk is better, I guess is gonna get more popular now, draw back is distance and events happening there.
To keep this short: Why is that, ANet? Help me, and other players concerned with this move you took to understand why.
I’d say because players complained they were sitting on millions of karma that was worthless.
(…) can’t suspend disbelief walking around with pauldrons as thick as his head (…)
Thats mostly a Norn problem, big one.
I feel the same way about Greatswords, they released the game with a fair variety of believable and “high fantasy” but since that all we got was “high fantasy” ones.
My favorite is still the Ebonblade, I also like the Kymswarden and Khrysaor for example.
I have my fingers crossed with the upcoming WvW skins.
You guys cried for months and months about what was the point of killing a Champion if the loot table was the same as a regular mob.
Anet looks into it and puts some actual reward, what do players do? Farm it like there’s no tomorrow.
I very much doubt Anet idea when they implemented this was having “champ trains”, that’s players inventions, the same players that cry around for “challenging content” but will exploit every possible advantage to go over it, the kind that group up with mesmer to fill up on badges of honor then complain getting a legendary was boring, the kind that builds up nothing but DPS then blames other players when he goes down because somehow it’s their fault, in short, the thick of the community.
By the way, for the user asking for an end to the champ train, I don’t think Anet wants to deal with the backlash of turning these drops into 1 per day for example.
Hell I remember someone making a thread to complain how Anet was FIXING the exploits on some story missions that were being used to farm gold.

I’d love a world wide weather system for GW2.
Just look at what R* did with GTAV on less than 512MB RAM, come on Anet, pretty please.
You guys are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over thinking this.
But since you’re in that mood, how about the poor Troll that gets his rune stolen then beaten half to death like clockwork?
I’m not gonna get enough for the 4 I need to do :/

I always liked Evon, he’s practical and down to Earth… Tyria.
As for the voting, BL keys vs WP? That wasn’t even a competition.
In the last 2 weeks I’ve open about 5 chests and nothing really good came out, certainly not worth the gems.
Now I get it the gem store can’t be “Pay2Win” but kitten , some transmutation crystals (higher drop rate) would be nice for example.
