Accept it or not. It’s an old game, and they can choose to have as little or much support as they wish. It’s free to play, and their main focus is GW2. They can also cancel all support on the game if they see fit. They can also close the game down without warning.

You messed up and now you want everyone else to clean up your mess. I hope you realize anything you with through your credit card company will be committing fraud. Fraud can result in jail time.

Someone could create a legendary, send it to a trusted friend or guild bank, pay for a rollback to before they did so recovering the original legendary, have the friend send the other back, sell them both on the TP for double profit. That’s just one example of how it could be abused.

Yes there is that.

It’s strange that an old game like WoW can have individual characters restored and this is not even an option to pay for in guild wars.

Because in WoW, they can track the stolen items, and take them back. For Anet, they don’t track the items. The market is shared game wide. Wow, each TP is server based.

Also, Wow has a lot more capital to play with to have those features. Blizzard will go in and remove the stolen items, and can restore the character. Anet doesn’t track items, just that “x Character had y Item at z Point” and restores. They don’t follow where the item goes, so now there are 2 of each in the system. If every account had a pay option to restore, think of all the extra items that would be put into the market.

You can purchase additional character slots with gems, either by converting gold (it will take a lot) or using money. You can have up to 64 character slots (at this time) as well.

I doubt they will increase the cap, since that is usually hard wired into the game. They could give a free slot, but until the game is released, they won’t announce any of the sorts. 64 characters on one account is a lot of data for them to store.

They even said that they wouldn’t have free transfers forever, and made changes to the transfer system while it was free to ensure that when there was a cost it was in a good place.

Servers have limits because…. bad things happen when you go over the limits. It’s like you trying to store something on your full Hard drive. When it’s full, there isn’t any room. They also won’t answer your petition over the forums. You can make a suggestion, but this is how the game has been since the beginning. It’s always been “first come, first serve”.

I have log in issues with my linked guild wars account and its already been 9 days.Oddly i have no problems connecting to my guild wars 2 account but i cant connect to my original guild wars account.

If they are linked, make sure you are using the exact same login information you use for your GW2 account to log into GW1 (same password as well). Some people have forgotten that part. If that isn’t the issue, hopefully they will get to your ticket soon.

Going invisible has nothing to do with guild ranks, or even related to guilds, which is why it was recommended. All your suggestions were about guild and zoning. Did you try that suggestion, because I remember another poster having the issue and it worked for them? Your post came off as a little hostile towards someone who was trying to give a suggestion that most people wouldn’t know about.

People need to have some fun. If you can’t… have fun… in a video game (meant to have fun) then maybe video games aren’t for you. It’s one day. If you don’t like it, you can choose to not log on for 1 day. There are plenty of things to do. If you are really upset about a company trying to make the game a little interesting (and different since they like to do something unique each year), then maybe something else is setting off your nerves. And to why they don’t let people just change it, it’s your identity in the game. You can add a character, but you’ll always be able to see the Display/Account name. They don’t want people to act like jerks, then change their display name and have a new identity.

It’s basically to protect everyone. So if you act like a jerk, you can wipe the slate clean completely.

Actually, people didn’t put in a support ticket for it. Support was able to determine who was logged in during the event, and gave everyone the item. If you didn’t get it, you didn’t get it. They didn’t use tickets. I remember because I didn’t get one, and my friend did.

Supposedly they were all caught up and all tickets would be answered today by 6 PM EST, if you went by the time window he gave in the thread, but I have yet to here a peep.

Hi everyone! Gameplan:

All login tickets should be done by this time tomorrow. Password resets, email changes, and authentication removal should all be looked at in 6 hours or less UNLESS you don’t provide enough information to prove ownership of the account (fill out your ticket forms thoroughly!).

Gameplay issues such as deleted items, missing skins, missed rewards are taking the full 72 hour SLA to respond to.

Appeals are also taking longer than normal but we’re getting to them. Again, give us as much info as you can to prove ownership to speed this up.

Guild Wars tickets will soon be handled with GW2 tickets – this will remove the issue of you guys having to wait weeks for help. Note: This will still only apply to game access as we do not support gameplay or bug issues for Guild Wars anymore.

If you read what he said, only certain tickets would be handled by that time frame, if certain criteria was met. If you didn’t put enough information in to prove ownership, then it’s quite possible that’s why you didn’t hear back in time. Also if you weren’t a login issue, password resets, email changes, or authentication removal, it was outside of the time you listed.

Server Time no longer works

“In-Game Clock — Select whether to display the current time on the bottom-left corner of the minimap. The time can be either your system’s local time or the server’s time (in UTC time). "

It hasn’t been in the US Pacific time zone for quite some time, they switched it to UTC.

When I read your message, I thought you hadn’t even heard from them, the fact that you have shows it hasn’t been a week. Some things take a while to resolve, it’s not an instantly done feature.

Also, since the agent said you were hacked, it’s most likely the ticket clearly states “perform these tasks and inform us when you have done so” and you haven’t done that, thus not hearing from them again.

Duplicate tickets deleted. Still unable to get into game. Starting to want money back.

Hacked accounts can take longer to solve. They want to make sure they give the account back to the proper owner so they don’t rush through double checking things.

Has your friend made sure their email is secure? I know Gaile has posted that a lot of account hacks seem to be done by people who have also had their email hacked.

Not saying that that is the case with your friend, but it doesn’t hurt to double check.

I hope your friend gets the situation sorted out sooner rather than later.

He didn’t get hacked. He just hasn’t gotten on his arena.net account in ages so he doesn’t remember his password.

You really need to bring back phone support. I don’t believe you when you guys said that phone support took longer… never had to wait for over a month on the phone.

Guild Wars 2 never had phone support. If it’s a GW1 issue, they have posted a few time it will clearly take a long while for assistance and they are working on it. Also, if he hasn’t been on in ages, it’s possible he has been hacked and doesn’t even know it.

That would be something you should actually take up with your bank first. Anet doesn’t know how each bank will show on statements their purchases (and yes, some banks will place a hold on the amount, and then then the withdrawl, it’s possible your bank shows you both so you are aware of what is going on.) But in the end, you should first clarify with your bank.

WTFast runs through shared service VPNs like most tunneling services. Unfortunately when they change servers or providers, our systems detect a large quantities of accounts suddenly being accessed by a different network. Standard preventative measures dictate that we close access to these accounts to try to insure that the account’s holdings remain secure.

As we currently don’t have an “account identity lock” system, we rely on preventative banning in this case. We are working on a better solution for this, but this type of issue doesn’t happen very often, and when it does it can quickly and easily be fixed.

In this case it looks like this hit WTFast VPNs running out of Frankfurt, Germany which was brought to our attention because of high GoldSeller activity on it along with a flux of accounts hitting the same and new network at the same time.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I am still looking into this issue.

You guys have heard of BGP/OSPF right? and Internet Multi-pathing? Your system would flag accounts that happen to jump routes and change source IP’s due to BGP topology changes too.

You guys need to change your security measures. Mass banning accounts based on source IP is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard of. Especially since accounts that are banned via this method need tickets opened with your helpdesk. You are just burning $$$ by going this route. There are many other/better ways to run security.

One would be to enforce every account to use the email authentication system you have setup with GW2. They change IP the system blocks access until they accept said email. Sames goes for mobile authenticator.

Except that A LOT of hacked accounts also have had their email hacked, so your suggestion is completely negated since they can log into the email and just “poof” fix the issue.

wow.. its my gmail email acct. its my gw1 acct, its my gw2 acct, she played a character on the acct.. the display name wasnt chosen, it was a kitten gw1 character needed to link gw1 and gw2 for the stupid HoM.. if i had known i would have used a diff character than the black sun. why the kitten is it displayed in game.,… everyone just wants to copy paste TOS breach and buy a diff acct and use that, i shouldnt have to buy a new acct, when i have yrs and thousands of achev points wrapped up in this MY acct…..

You keep saying that linking GW and GW2 accounts required you to choose a character name to set as your Display Name. I was asked to choose a Display Name when registering my GW2 account. Nothing to do with linking it to my GW accounts. I certainly did not link my accounts in such a manner, nor have I ever seen anyone else post about such a procedure.

Your accounts must have been bugged severely, and, as such, perhaps you should take it up with TCS. Best of luck.

No, he’s coming up with lies to get around it. Haven’t you noticed how the story keeps changing to get his way to change it. First it was his girlfriend who set up the name, since they were sharing the account, now it’s from HIS GW1 account and it forced him to pick a name (which is untrue). And now it’s even his email address, which isn’t true since it’s not blahblahblah@***.com. He’s just one of those people who lie to get their way.

Is is possible your laptop had an update? It could have caused the issue your having. There was another post (it was locked because the person wasn’t wanting to give any answers so people could help him) but someone in the post said that there was another way to turn off the integrated video card that wasn’t the Nvidia control panel. .

Edit: I found the post, he said look in the BIOS and try turning it off there.

Just so you know, speedtest doesn’t show you what is happening at that moment, but what the best you “could” get. So even if you have a bunch of computers on at that moment, speedtest won’t show you that your upload is having the issue.

If your GW1 account is linked to your GW2 account, you login to GW1 using your GW2 username/password. For the character name, you have to enter one of your GW1 characters. If you can’t remember a name, check your GW1 screenshots.

If your GW1 account is not linked, you login using your GW1 username/password. You can manage your account using account.guildwars2.com.

If you can’t remember enough details to login yourself, you will need to contact support using the option for GW1. Support for GW1 is very slow though.

It’s not that they have ignored you. It’s that they are extremely busy with so many tickets right now that it’s taking a really long time to answer tickets.

If you still have your old device, you can actually get the serial code from it, and set up the authenticator on the new device with that code. If you already wiped it, or got rid of the device, you’ll need to wait on Anet to answer the ticket.

OH. Your cousin gave your the account, and someone else hacked it, but since it’s not really your account, you can’t get it back. Your cousin has to create the ticket to get it from Anet.

Though since you already created one, there is a Really really good chance Anet is just going to close the account because per the rules, you can’t share accounts, or give accounts away. Your cousin was in the wrong for giving you the account. It wasn’t yours, ever.

You weren’t the owner of the account. If I understood what you are trying to say, your cousin gave you his account, and then he took it back.

Anet is very much against people giving away accounts, because of this very reason. You didn’t own the account, it was his. You should never have been on it. If you wanted to ensure you never lost your stuff, you should have bought the game yourself and created your own account. Doesn’t matter if he was family or not. It was never yours.

You can use a different email source to send communication with them, and with that email, you can also request for them to change the email on file. I would suggest creating a brand new email address, use that to send a ticket request for help, then also ask to change the email address on file to the new one you created.

I’ve never had my CPU overheat while playing GW2, so I would agree with Dark Jericho, it sounds like your thermal paste isn’t applied correctly. GW2 is a more CPU based games where a lot of other games are GPU based. Has nothing to do with how it is being optimized.

It also could very well be that it’s a full server, but when you are looking you’ll see very high since you are located on that server. That’s something to consider that accounts already located on the server in question could see something different then 2 accounts trying to look at the server and aren’t located on it.

You really didn’t understand what anybody said. Anet can only fix things so far. If a certain provider is sending their internet signal through a certain node, and that node is having issues, it can cause issues to ripple through-out. Anet can’t fix the node, nor can they do anything to fix the issues because it’s outside their ability.

The fixes could have been trying to route as much of their signal to the game to you guys through different nodes, which obviously didn’t fix anything.

They won’t transfer, especially based on a post. If they assist one person in trying to transfer, then they would have to help everyone, which would create a massive backlog list to get someone moved to full servers. With the exception of WvW, you and your wife can still play together in all aspects of the game on different servers.

1) Tickets are extremely backed up right now due to the latest expansion being released. A lot of tickets are taking 3-7 days to be handled.

2) The city is tied to the IP address that is assigned to your ISP. If your desktop is on a wired connection, your wired connection could have a different city associated with it. If it really is your IP, and it’s the request you gave, then the information is correct. Anet doesn’t know what city you are in, they base it on IP and ISPs tie cities to them.

3) It’s quite possible your ISP is now doing dynamic IPs, so Anet needs to learn the range for your desktop to stop sending the emails.

At the same time, they won’t tell you yes or no because the information can be used by those who create third party software to cheat the system. It will also clog up their support system from being able to assist those who need assistance with their accounts.

Since both accounts have the username GuzziHero (.2467 and .5104) and indeed the second account’s email address includes guzzihero, they will see that I am genuine and consider my request.

Same name technically doesn’t prove that it’s you. The personal information they have on the accounts would prove it’s the same person. It’s not hard for someone trying to sell accounts to create the same name and use that same reason. Just saying.

They may roll your account back to before you deleted the charature but they will only do this once and only once so be sure it is worth it you may need this service some time in the future for something like deleting a charature with a legendary on it so be carful.

They ONLY offer roll backs for hacked accounts. And by hacked accounts, hacked by 3rd party that Anet can prove wasn’t you. So the roommate “hacking” an account situation doesn’t apply. They have never done a rollback for deleted characters.

Technically, you aren’t supposed to share account information. If you brother is with you at your place, he is completely welcome to log into his account, and what you guys do while he is there is up to you BUT you technically shouldn’t log into his account without him present (it’s against the Terms of Service to share account login information).

Well, that might be why it’s being missed. The information you included said “guildwars 1 purchases” which the GW2 staff wouldn’t use for proof of ownership anyways. It’s quite possible your massive paragraph that they think it’s a GW1 issue.

Bought a copy and tried to register to my email, said the email was in use. Anyway got the account back. Originally I had bought the game long ago and the payment went through on my card. I was able to play for a few days and the card retracted the payment thus getting the account suspended for non pay.

Like I said that was a long time ago and I had honestly forgotten. Anyway there was a place to insert my new cd key on that account so I went ahead and did that. Tried to log in only to come up to “Account suspended” upon login. If I had known any of this was going to happen I would have just used another e-mail address and new account. I even tried making a new account but now that I added the brand new cd key to the old account I get the obvious “cd key in use” Original ticket was 6 days or so ago now.

You need to include your ticket number if you want assistance.

If by last Christmas you mean 2 days ago, then yes, it is pretty worthless because the game has been out for quite some time and being an MMO there has been many patches (updates) thus the physical copy has not been updated. It’s the nature of the MMO world as they have to constantly update and add content to keep their fan base engaged otherwise they will lose their player base.

Actually, the wiki is how Anet gets all the massive amounts of information collected and controlled for the players. There is only so much you can put into the game before it becomes cluttered. You know when you have a single player game that used to come with a game book? Or a board game with an instruction set. The wiki is that for GW2. Even look at the top of this screen, Wiki is one of the links.

When you click on Wiki (at the top), the main page, under Economy – Items – Unique Items.

It’s not even hard to find it IF people use the resources Anet applies.

Randulf … theres 17 pages topic on this forums where ppl write about this problem, so its kinda affecting majority of players :P

That page goes back 3 months, is localized to EU based on an issue in the EU servers, and if you read the page, they requested very specific information to the issue. Anet also said they couldn’t see an issue with their servers, so a lot of things can cause this. From what I remember about that time, seems there was something outside of Anet’s control (as in, not Anet equipment or internet access) causing is.

Actually, the item does say UNIQUE and the GW2 Wiki explains it as well. The Ascended rings/trinkets/etc already have a lot of information on it so adding more will just be even more crowded. Most of the information about this is available on their resource page, and even in game you can /wiki x (x is your search) and it brings up a web page with the information.

Anvil Rock can pop up if you are in WvW or sometimes in PvP. If you guys were doing a 1v1, those would have been either of the 2 zones possible.
