If this is a temporary map, let’s say… for 4 weeks only, i guess Anet did ignore this problem and it’ll be automatically fixed in the fresh new lion’s arch map after the attack.

No, we probably couldn’t. It took 2-4 months to develop some of the updates (i think) and Anet already knows what is coming. The only exception was the fractal that we had on the cuthroat politics update.
It was a nice attempt, however it divided the community and some people did get upset because we didn’t see Abaddon’s fractal at all. So i don’t think Anet will do something like that again.
However, something based in failure or success in events, like your idea of marionette… it’s interesting, and people would actually try to do better. Maybe something like a server meter (Event completed: 20/100) to determine if the final state of the event it’s failed or completed by the characters. This would create another problem. Some servers would get it completed, some servers won’t, the overflows would don’t count… you would need 2 versions of the same game, where some servers did suceed, and some where it was failed… a Marionette in lornar pass dead and a Marionette in another server destroying LA…
All servers fighting together to suceed or fail an event might work, but again it’d have to be content that we wouldn’t see after 2 months, and assuming that happens, it would have to be content that doesn’t involve a big story, otherwise it’d had to be impossible. As example: killing the marionette in time would stop the aethercannon tests, and Scarlet would NOT attack lions arch, but that breaks the story since the next step is to find what is behind.
- As an optional random effect, it could work good. As example, maybe if we destroyed the tower of nightmares enough times, we wouldn’t get miasma in LA and we could be there fighting all the time…?

What got me into the game was the LS. I was tired of being 6 months literally “jumping in the hub” doing the same duels, spars, dungeons over and over… and when it wasn’t possible, just hours and hours doing n-o-t-h-i-n-g but jumping around.
GW2 promised me to have monthly updates, and… i must say that i made a right decission.
Some updates are useless for me, as example the edge of the mists, since i’m focused on PvE only. However i understand that gw2 is built on a trinity, pve, wvsw and pvp, so…… i don’t mind having some updates for the other guys playing the game, i’m still having a LOT of new content to do each month. This was expected and i like it.
By the way, tower of the nightmare…….. was… E-P-I-C, it made me feel as same as i felt the first time i was doing the modniir event at the north of harathi. That’s what got me in love with the game.

I hope they have a final burnt down version of the map ready for the aftermanth. It would be silly if same wooden structures still burn 1 year later.
Remember the tower of nightmares in kesses hills? I bet Lions Arch will also be fine after the siege.

As weird as it might sounds, i think he did just level up because it killed a lot of players! That gave him new skills and such.

Although this is not perfect, the step 1 for you should be to “catch up” on what happened to Tyria in all the time you were away: Check this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/
Then you can start googling info about all those events 1 by 1. You’ll enjoy it i hope.
Step 2 would be to actually play the game, open your achievements pannel, go to the living story section and try to complete all those, that are inside Lions Arch. Eventually you would learn what is going on. You should also visit the places mentioned in a mail that you should had received.

well, it could be worse, Zhaitan could just make them come back and force you to kill them… again.
Don’t be sad, they’re just pixels.
Fixing that shouldn’t be hard to do if they finally fixed 1 type. However, telling in the patch notes that all potions were fixed is even easier… since there was no mention about it, i wouldn’t count on that.
Except for those that were about to aim to kill the 3 wurms… xD (not me, btw)
Actually, Elrey, you don’t need to pay gems. It’s the fastest, indeed, but you can get one-time use passes from the Alliance Bags. I got one from my last run 20 minutes ago, even.
I didn’t know about that… it’s indeed a nice touch.
But it was still fun seeing everyone go from complaining that it’s bugged to desperately trying to save as many as possible to hit our self-made target.
That’s really funny, people saving more citizens because there’s a bug than the intended way to do this event haha. I gues i’d do the same, ignoring the other events and just saving citizens in order to get to the maximum. It’s amazing how some bugs add some more fun.
All 3 puzzles can be done, confirmed my myself.
Have you done the one in the edge of the mysts where you actually need to fall into a bucket? :P
However, i must say NO to this suggestion, since that’s a place where you need to pay gems to go :\
As someone said in a similar thread “I don’t see why anyone would keep ciphers instead of using them right away. Is not like you’re gonna get better rewards if you keep them.”
And of course, you knew the past living story would end today. Even if you had the rumour about the lair sticking around, you should had exchanged your ciphers “just in case”. And then if the chests were there after update, it’s great, if not you didn’t lose anything.
So… are you again telling me that you’re having an issue for being lazy enough to not waste 3 minutes walking to the lair before patching? :\ sorry, i can’t see the point.

O,o O,o O,o O,o What the… hell… The amount of lost that you are can’t be measured.
Let’s see…
1: Anet will add new areas, although that’s not confirmed and only rumours. 2 Weeks ago we had a new WvsW map, we also had Soutshon Cove (i think, no idea how it’s called in english). expect more PvE maps as in the future.
2: The mystic forge is still around, just moved to The vigil castle, since Lions Arch is attacked. If you are surprised that Lions Arch is attacked i must ask you now where had you been the last month, since you’d did get a lot of information about that in the Forums/living story/website/npc dialogues… etc.
With no offense, sir, you should re-learn what game you are playing. No new content since 2012? you completely missed the tower of nightmares? that was an outstanding piece of content, it completely made me fall in love with gw2. Also new dungeon, Aether in TA. Also a few more events like marionette, the queen’s jubilee, the new tequatl… i would never end.

They are in Orr, and since Lion’s Arch people didn’t think they would be attacked again, they didn’t bothered in asking for help. So if they come, i guess they’d come late.
Wouldn’t be epic LAME if they ask for help now, the pact comes from orr, a dragon appears in Lion’s arch and the pact kill it same way as they killed zhaitan? xD i would be LOL’ING for a year.
Same happened with marionette. A lot of people complaining about it the first day. Then suddenly a lot of love from people calling it “the best event ever” the next days.
It’s what happens when you don’t really understand something. At first we all hate new stuff, but then we are used to it, to the point that we actually enjoy it.

I am lol’ing about the fact that a friend saved all the keys she had from marionettes and now she can’t use them. Epic trolled.
I personally changed all my ciphers 4 hours ago. After tha last marionette what we killed in Baruch’s Bay. Honestly i don’t know why did you guys don’t use yours after every marionette. There’s no point on saving them, except maybe to save 2-4 minutes. Now they’re useless, wich means you already wasted more and more than 2-4 minutes.
Seriously people? This encounter is nothing more than “press 1 to win”. A lot of mobs, few champions (no bags), then finally one minute fight with the only one demanding champion, and most people fail. Never again, please. Even legends in Mad King labyrinth were better than this.
2:30 time to kill the champ in the center + regulator. Plus some champions had some inmunity to ALL damage at a point, wich requires more than pressing 1 and that’s why some people fails. Unless you know how to specifically disable their invulnerability, the odds of failing are high.
Anyway….. i started this thread the first days and i guess i will make a last comment in the last day. 27 marionettes killed, 48 server wipes, still was fun. I hope we can get her back someday.
It was challenging, fun, and definetly worth playing. The acievements, though, were perfect for a permanent world boss. The exact amount of challenge needed to keep people trying and trying all over the months.
The problem of marionette going away is the wrong part. Marionette should be permanent and then the achievements could be eventually done. Besides that i did all achievements in the first week, aiming for them was easy. Aiming at the very end of the event is problematic.
Final personal stats: 27 marionettes killed. 48 marionette server wipes.
It’s the update delayed because of this…? O,o
Don’t sleep and you will have time to play! (zombie mode playing, zombie mode real life… but at least you can do everything!)

I hope we can get some fun and great discussions without messing up with players playstyle. The problem that i found in the previous thread was a high elitist attitude that turned into offense against the “play how i want” community, as well as some non-meta build players.
That said, i hope we can make this thread works without that kind of issues. And i’m also excited to see what it happens next, since dungeons might (or not) get some attention now that LS is almost finished.
What do you think about that? maybe some of the teams doing LS content are free and they can fix some dungeons in the near future?

It seems you did choose ranger because you wanted to use bows, however you want nice animation for bow skills… then your fail was to choose a ranger. Use a warrior instead, the longbow skills shot fire arrows, medium and giant size areas, immobilize, etc. That longbow is really awesome for pve landscape if you are not aiming for meta builds.
If you are New to the game, Please Do NOT follow The Queensdale (Train).
Seriously, don’t. I’ve seen players leave the game because they though the queensdale train was the only fun lvls 80 had in the game. That’s completely WRONG, the train it’s just a way for lazy people to complete monthly achievements in 2-3 days instead of completing them all over the month.
Aetherblade path in TA is also doable (even with 2 players but needs specific classes for ooze escort).
Although with only 2 people you might do oozes, the electricity puzzle wouldn’t work.
As wethospu said most can be done with certain tricks. But for general with 4 players you can do every path except cof p1 and TA aether.
For Aetherpath you need 4 players for the electricity puzzle. A player with 1200 range in the 4th platform to drag the enemy away from the 1st platform, and then exploding it near the console in 4th platform.
I’ve done aether with only 4 players a lot of times. Once they 3 were newbies and we did suceed with only 1 wipe, so… i don’t get why you say it’s not possible, spoj. You are giving wrong information :P
the fastest way to level up (and doesn’t really learn your proffession so you are useless for the first weeks at lvl 80) will be to use the queensdale champions train that i hate so much. Sadly i guess it will fit you.
This thread made me remember how a 9 years old girl leaded some dungeons harder than any dungeon in gw2 (including fractals).

In the desert area, we got 3 mechanisms i think.
1 would be the Worm, wich allows us to teleport far away using the worm’s cave. Enemies can’t use it so… you can easily make a zerg appear from nowhere, or escape from there.
2 would be the granades that you can buy in the airport. They cost 25 badges of honour as well, and it creates an air attack that i think (notice, personal opinnion) it’s useless.
3 it’s the possibility to transform yourself into a siege devorator. That slow but steady creature lets you use 3 skills. 1 hits like a ram, 2 teleports 10m away and 3 makes you invisible as long as you don’t move (it lasts 8 seconds).
So… we can be siege devorators, an army of 5 of those guarded by 20-30 enemies can easily take down towers, becuase they are like catapults or rams. Besides that, the other mechanics aren’t that great.
For the north area, i’ve seen 2 of the 3 mechanics.
- Turn yourself into a light, inmune to all damage, nobody can ever hit you until you finish transformation (dealing fire damage area around). It’s great if you want to infiltrate yourself somewhere.
- 2 big cannons that seems to hit really far away. Actually so much far away that you can’t see where if you are in low graphical settings. Might be useful, not so sure.
Maybe caithe already knows about Mordremoth… And Scarlet found that sooner or later. If that’s the case, the twist a la game of thrones would be “caithe was always working for a dragon”.
the OP think skill points are traits. No. When you get a skill point, you will NOT get a trait. Trait points are only rewarded by leveling up.

Today 2 different players contacted me to teach them how to do Arah… however i never said i’d mentor Arah. I’m wondering how they’d get that information, since it’s erroneus.
Could you check the new guild ranks, Iris? i might be labeled as Arah mentor by misstake.
By the way, 1 of them did contact me while doing Aether, i’ll kep doing that one on a regular basis.

I want to make a thread to gather all the information that was never mentioned in the patch notes but it was changed in the game. So far i only found 1, so i hope you guys had better luck.
- Commander tag it’s now visible for commanders as well.
- Commander Compendiums now cost 250 badges of honor in addition to 100g.
- Hellfire/Radient greaves now viewable in the Heart of the Mists locker.

As a warrior i must say also, that i can kill 20 enemies at same time, however it takes 2 kraits to kill me. This (i hope) is said just for you to notice that some enemies are just harder than others.
I’d suggest you to go to the human starting area, since there you can kill more enemies and there’s is less of the harder ones. At least you’ll get it easier until you are lvl 20.
I remember when it took us 8 months to ALL the servers worldwide, to finally beat once a big raid final boss in a different MMO. Every guild was trying week after week, improving slowly until they finally killed it 8 months after it’s release date.
That was something hard, but yet it was done. Wurm has been killed in the first week… that’s something so easy that i don’t even need more words.
I love how you can get to all that places. If there was no way to exploit your way to skip trash enemies or bosses and you could only just run to explore some areas of the other paths, it’ll be perfect.
