Warrior was fine for a long time, but then he gets nerfed hard in pve, but all people do is complain about pvp changes.
So to answer your question: It feels like trying really hard at school, doing your best to have a future, and then getting punished by your parents every single day because you dont drink enough beer and dont smoke enough weed.
You see normally I would ask if you are on drugs. Anet’s kind of getting mad at anyone that speaks out on these forums, hell they get mad at their own devs for it. So I’m just going to say you should learn to play.
OP if the war is running away he’s just as useless as a stealth thief. That is to say he an do absolutely nothing. Just ignore him, unless you feel his running away is somehow threatening to you.
Well i wish his running would make him useless heres aa example on why it needs to be taken care of.
3 v 3 we focused the hammer war first. got him to 20% he pulled out gs, ran from the fight. (nothing we could do) he sprinted about 3000 units away after whirlwinding twice and charging once. so we focus the other 2.
He jumps back into the fight after resetting his hp and managed to down one person which we revived. We kept fighting, thief used sr. Two stealthed war was visible, we focus the war to about 20% again.
He sprints away, we chased alittle bit no one had mobility to match it. He resets hp. We focus the other 2, now ignoring the war who was doing insanely high damage. Kill the other 2.
Guess what the war does after we beat his team mates? You got it. He ran away. nothing we can do to stop it. We even had a kitten good thief, who had his teleports and basilisk venom, i used signet of earth in place of mist form. Nothing worked, war still got away.
Btw in reality that fight was 6v3 but i dont count the uplevels who dropped like flies.
Teleports and 1 CC on kitten cooldown isn’t gonna cut it. You need to actually be built to catch a warrior as a thief, to catch 1.

I WvW with S/D, shortbow specced to chase warriors. (30/30/5/5/0)
I know the build actually sucks in real 1v1, because I entered a dueling server in sPvP with the same build and got rolled.
But 1v1ing in WvW is entirely different, most people just run when they see me coming and since its specialty is killing people trying to run away it just freaking excels. It’s able to disengage well as well, which is another thing that is useless for confined dueling. (because I think disengaging in a proper duel means you lost)

I actually do get most if not all my thief kills because they proc’d last refuge , since 9/10 times that’s approximately where they got downed so basically i just AA around that area to find myself a dead thief on the ground.
Though for me, I don’t remember the last time I died because of last refuge (more or less makes sense since I don’t use stealth offensively). It has saved me countless times though.
It pretty much depends on your build whether it will save or kill you. Though really I think it’s just easy to blame last refuge for your death, never mind that the chance is extremely high that you would’ve died even if it did not proc. Especially when we consider that 9/10 times, the thief already got dropped when they proc’d last refuge.

Or you know, bring a hammer or mace/shield. Necros have almost no reliable stability, so hard CCs on them are the bane of their existance. Some necros do pack a lot of fears, but that’s where balanced stance or dolyak signet come in handy.
Isn’t fear a condition, so stability would do nothing against it. Berserker stance would work though.
And these are the keybinds I’m using:
Target unlock – deselect current target
Sheathe/Unsheathe weapon
Look behind you
AoE loot
Dodge roll
I also binded all my utilties and elite so they’re more accessible. I’ve moved to ‘fast cast’ and I prefer to have auto targetting on.
What kind of build is 10/30/0/0/30? It seems to be for a S/P build which is focused on interrupts and steal.
S/P has some problems because it’s more for PvE and PvP due to pistol whip rooting you which is pretty bad for open world PvP.
Which weapon do you use for offhand?
What are your utilities, heal, and elite?
What do you mean by sucking at WvW? Do you suck at 1v1, or 1vX, or Xv1, or staying alive in zergs, or getting lots of loot bags, or taking small objectives by yourself, or small group play, or inability to disengage, or ability to chase, or GvG?

I love Daecollo; he’s the reason Warriors are where they are now. He keeps making forum posts to buff warriors and now they’re great. I say let him do the same with Thieves so we can be op too
Yea I got no beef with Daecollo. He’s doing our class a favor for sure. Who cares if they’re OP, we can help with that.
A properly built warrior should have the least amount of trouble against necro. And I don’t just mean mace crack/hammer with unsuspecting foe which hard counters necro. Even without those 2 weapons it’s still a good counter to necro.
For example, if you have the longbow and have cleansing ire trait (which you should probably take always it’s so good) and healing signet (which you should take anyways best heal ever) and runes of melandru (good for current condi meta) and berserker stance (should take it’s really good against condi meta) and probably adrenal health and banner regen if you don’t use mace/hammer then you can just spam buttons on the longbow and break even in terms of their damage and your regen and eventually the necro will die.
I guess…if you take absolutely no anti-condi traits/weapons/utilities whatsoever, then yes I can see a warrior getting creamed by a necro.

On the other hand, it’s more reasonable to expect some sort of change to pistol #2 – body shot.
I think the dev is thinking about changing it too as we can agree pistol #4 and #5 are in a good spot and pistol #1 is “okay”. Pistol #3 is also more or less okay. Pistol #2 sucks donkey **** for every single build.

feels very good i must admit. the only thing i need to work on is how to get away from a full enemy team as a warrior and get them to chase me around and waste time and never actually be able to kill me. i’m thinking of bringing signet of stamina and then doing berserker stance -> signet of stamina and then rush -> whirlwind attack to troll them good since I have mobile strikes and running runes of melandru and dogged march. healing signet + adrenal health + banner regen practically makes you invincible in a 1v1 anyways so it’s very very relaxing to play. i get to focus down who i want, since i’m always the last to be targeted (very refreshing coming from a thief who is always first to be targeted and first to drop) no matter what, i can res anyone i want and even if they focus me when i’m ressing my HP barely goes down! it feels good. this is what playing on “EZ-Mode” must feel like, I guess.
what? trolling uplevels who can’t CC in wvw? man, i do that all day long on my thief…i can 1vX so easy, but as a warrior, if you get focused you are pretty much dead.
berserker stance -> signet of stamina clears all CC on you and you’re still immune to CC for 8 seconds. Enjoy!! Noone can keep up with you besides you got most mobility. After you storm out it’s impossible to catch you.

Saw this coming a month ago, but all the warriors were like (at that point in time) we’re not even viable in tPvP! Find me any warriors on top tPvP teams! (which at the point in time there weren’t any admittedly) and that healing signet is no good for tPvP since it is supposedly “hard countered” by poison (even though practically every warrior uses that now)
Look what we have here, with no changes to warrior in a month. Yea you’re viable for tPvP, you’re TOO viable, you’re the meta now.
There is too much gear grinding, and too much achievements, and too much things to do as well.
Doing so would invalidate the time people spend acquiring that gear. I think the heart of your post is in the right place, but what we would rather do is make possible for people to get the gear by playing WvW with a sprinkling of PvE, rather than the other way around.
But currently it’s just not possible.
You’re forcing crafting and PvE on WvW players. WvW feels like a gigantic waste of time still.
This would likely be a nerf for my S/P PvE thief as well since he uses PVT armor and relies on the multi hit proccing signet of malice to stay alive.
No doubt it would bring back burst thief, but in the process of it would kill just as many or more builds as it would resurrect.
Only slightly on topic, S/P is extremely underrated. Most stopped using it back when PW damage got nerfed, but really PW is just for the evade/invul. I have more success with it than I do s/d
PW’s damage is fine when you run a Superior Sigil of Impact, which gives its 15% damage back from Pre-nerf.
yes but pre-nerf you could run those force + impact sigils too and still be better off :P
PW damage may be fine, but there are still issues with the set. Such as the root, and multi hit making the user prone to effects of retaliation.
Warrior here and i just watched your video.
No offence but you are being carried by healing signet and the mace, just like quite a few warriors out there. This build is as cookie cutter as bulls charge+100B early on in the game. I also use healing signet but it doesn’t mean its anywhere near balanced. Mace stuns need to get tuned down.
Regarding your build:
You cannot run away from anyone
Outside berserker stance you are really susceptible to kiting
Someone with the slightest mobility can outrun you.Its basically a stay and fight build.
Overall good skill though, but i would like to see more 1v2
Been running the exact same build with Surge for months before healing sig change.
And whats with everyone caring if someone runs away from them or running away from fights? quit being kittenes, stay and fight.
because it’s not sPvP and mobility is king. like for the build I use on my thief, I have absolutely 0 sustain but has ability to disengage + ability to chase people who tries to disengage. You don’t need to hold points or anything so everyone flees when they’re low health if they can.
i think the criticism about lack of mobility for the WvW roamer is fair. There is just nothing you can do vs overwhelming odds (such as an incoming zerg) besides disengaging which is something any roamer in the higher tiers (especially T1, T2) has to deal with.
The problem with s/p is not the root or the damage.
It’s retaliation.
That boon will wreck you as a S/P even after they nerfed ret damaged.
If that’s the only issue, then use S/D as switch set and steal the retaliation boon.
Thief counter warriors atm, just kite berserker stance and spam blind, if the war runs the teef prob wont be able to kill them, but it’ll prob be the counter meta backpoint defender
people are saying they will be gettin toned down tho, at least stun durations so they might not be as big or harmful as the spirit ranger/necro meta .
Spamming blind does crap against a warrior with longbow and cleansing ire. Not to mention that thief can barely do enough damage to outpace warrior regen. 9/10 cases the thief will be forced to run.
If you want evidence just look at PAX finals between Car Crash and Sync. Caed playing D/P thief (the thief build with most access to blinds) got messed up everytime when he 1v1 the warrior played by Super.

There is a problem with S/P…the problem is you being rooted for the duration of pistol whip. Self root in PvP Is pretty bad….then again, I mean if your opponent is dumb enough to stay in the pistol whip range like PvE monsters then yea it’s a good set.
If they take out the self root then yea S/P would be amazing for PvP, but I guess it’d be OP.
Yea right. I have 3500 armor on my warrior in sPvP with healing signet, adrenal health, and banner regen. And it’s pretty much impossible to die vs power builds 1v1. Dagger thief does a neglible amount of damage that I don’t even notice.

So you don’t like to kill people. Ok, at least use Banner of Discipline.
And don’t use healing Signet, then. You don’t want to get used to what yourself said it was OP, right?
However, I’m coming back with Rune of Melandru. That means M/Sh GS warrs won’t work against me (Skull Crack back to 3 seconds -> 100 b damage reduced by less than half). Then taking them down is a problem, but they SURELY won’t be able to take ME down.
I get most of my points from defending/neutralizing/capping points. I don’t get a lot of kills but the score is still enough to put me at MVP for many games.
Also you’re pretty much handicapping yourself if you don’t use healing signet in its current implementation, it’s just so good it’s ridiculous.

You don’t need to hit anything in order to get larcenous strike. Also there is no rule that states the thief must use larcenous strike right after flanking strike. You can use larcenous strike up to 5 seconds after you get it.
All you gotta do is buy like 10 stacks and be happy cuz that food is op

I think TC is clueless, PVT gear and Zerk gear does the same damage on world bosses. Difference being Zerkers are on the ground all the time doing 0 damage. I say we ban zerkers for griefing.
it would be a little OP but they could change it so the skill proc does not have any animation, and it doesn’t proc revealed.

Would not trade power for anything.
The blinding powder procs on a hit that kills you rather than a hit that brings you to low HP. Too often I’ve found thieves on the ground right where they dropped this. Though to be fair they would be screwed either way even if they not drop this upon dying.

no. it’s pretty rare in TC except for the rare 3-way in SMC as well.
Price is still based off the Candy. You can buy candy for stupid cheap and exchange 5 for 1 food.
