Funny. Last few days I see nothing but necros crying everywhere, then I turn on stream night before patch and I see Nos wrecking 5g over and over. Necros cannot be that bad, huh.

“hey 5g, can u beat Nos on power necro?” “Yes, absolutely.”
“hey 5g, can u beat Nos on his condi necro?” “No.”

Beside Nos and OPN (half necro) being only necros from any 100x teams….. Tell me, which was more viable – power or condi ?
Hope i dont need to explain any further.

P.S.
Just to make sure i will quote 5g: “well have to see how it fairs against other classes AND if its useful in teamfights”.

Yes it behaves like that since always.
Its a homing projectile, but it sticks and follows the ground, so it is possible to hit and get teleported even if the target was partially or whole time outside LoS.

The spots where the ground behaves like that are very limited tho, the only ones i think are actually usable are 90° steps like edges of legacy mid and forest henge. On the opposite, you cannot hit some1 from kyhlo mid note onto the ledge as the thing wont climb up.
Focus#4 behaves similiar, but waaay worse, thats where the random obstructeds come from.

Condi Engineer unloads conditions quickly to necro … Necro consumes or transfers them back. Necro laughs (or giggles).

necro will in next 4 seconds : die , heal , transfer.

the heal is the most and almost only interuptable heal.

Tansfers can be prevented, engie could even double dodge and youre half dead after those 2s.

Like look what weve come to, we are terriefied of our best hard counter.

Actually making it a spectral makes it too good.

Same as with lich…

Just vital persistence is just tooo good, especially for power builds. And for condi you need the other part….and for pretty much any death magic with sanctuary or blood magic with transfusion…. YOU NEED THAT TRAIT

Even on a full spectral build, the added lifeforce would on average just about equal the gain.

Hello.

First, big thanks to R. Gee , great rework on blood & signets. Now to actual issues:

1) CoCo Chanel – how, why, wtf and why no shelter treatment as it really is an alround stapple for all necro builds with actual counterplay and non healing turret crazy hps. Other heals plain suck

2) Curses Master pick – almost need all 3 ?
Recharge for actualy having a heal ?
No best trait since 2013… maybe only balanced for reaper
No terror…. know it was requested – but it still looks like a troll

3) Lich + plague nerf , while Rampage can stomp better than our DS

4) healing in DS:
When will parasitic contagion and other regens join the party?
example. eles have new water GM which gives 300hps just on soothing mist so ele can perma 600 hps in aoe …which will miss out

5) Axe is still axe

Yup, problem 3 – all the slow non-homing projectile issues is what makes it not commonly used.

It has been a solid like top 5 pick for 3rd utilty beside 2x stunbreaks, but realisticaly you can only use it <600 range and need to think/setup stuff not actually firing it when you need a gap closer.
And randomly miss/obstruct/sidestep/bodyblock/blind/block/dodge are just too common and u get 0% LF in those scenarios.

You just cant have a skill that does zero more than 1/10 times, and grasp fails around 50%.

Thankfully if you run the trait for extended duration you also get a flat 5% lf for using spectral skills which makes it not a total waste but that really isn’t much. In my chill build it still serves a purpose for LF if i don’t snare people with it, but anet COULD do with an update tweak on grasp so its not so dead useless even for a skillful player.

But like you said, those 5% dont matter, its just the unreliability of the skill that hurts

1) its a very weak trait, not even close to being worth it.

2) nope , no outside healing yet in deathshroud. The reason is some poeple with 15min of beta gameplay in 2012 got 1v4d by a necro so me must be bad and useless in teamfights for the next 5 years. Only 2 to go yay

3) what youre seing is just UI bug.
The trait does its job on the number, then when you pop out of ds just the red hp circle refreshes itself and grows to the actual number you healed.
There is no allied or self regen or ehatever healing ds.
We do get siphons on tuesday, probably no parasitic contagion trait and no allied 6k shouts and 5k water rotatian everyone else with more toughness gets anyway.

Looks like the 10s pre-buffing is back.
So tell your eles to give you staff swiftness and give yourself and your fellow necro 20-30% LF at start.

P.S.
This is probably a temporary bug, since they said pre-buffing shouldnt exist.
hope it gets fixed to “actual static ammount on respawn or OOC”, not to mention the -23% penalty on respawn

1) i think 20s would be wnough, or with new changes 25s + the CD reduction trait. Wither way, increse Vamp rune bonus CD

2) headshot – should remain same, its annoying but even as necro main it should stay, the blind one is far more annoying. also whenever thieves fail and have to double headshot its a big waste for them

3) huh, no prob with this one, idk what a cast time would help

just do 1 of these and delete/dont allow Shadow arts in new traits next week.
really everyone hates Shadow arts, its why wvw have 0.00 respect , its boring and sidewheel easy cheezy and most important – no counterplay and boring to play against.

also surprised for now sbow changes,
to answer the 3 year old question: "hmmm guess our team needs a thief, where do we get one – and one that needs to be better than enemy thief ? "

Hps – healing per second – aka sustain

-backpack regen: while not crazy like turret, its still super passive and has waay too much and too easy uptime.
I dont want to sound like a necro crybaby, but ele/engie hiding behind a corner passively regening full hp, while others need to fullfill “several conditions like its HuneterXHunter” to get the same or weaker effect.

-healing turret – just too much hps half if which is aoe, and against instant compared to a oulsing blood well or ele water field

Low CD spammgineer

- the tool kit blok – nuff said
- rifle 3s CC every 15s(or 12s) , no animation and a same CD no anim. immob to set it up

I agree with this. I don’t mind it being a projectile unlike Magnet, but it needs to be more reliable than it currently is.

+1 , make it homing.

I still dislike projectiles for such crucial skills, but if it was homing like life blast, id take it probably even without a speed increase.

It fits sooo nice in the theme of “you cant get away from me” and ive been using it amateur tourneys and its almost viable. just too bad that in pvp im not worrying about the intended counter play of reflects, but more random blind/dodges and mostly “is he going to sidestep? -.-”

Chill needs to slow initiative regen.

It’s a bug, and it should be fixed.

It’s not a bug, it effected it in the early betas, thieves got completely destroyed by it with no counter play so they removed the effect.

Hmm,
main necro, usually power, and recently i even played with a 3rd chill – the spectral pull – in amateur tournies.

mark#3, ds#2, spectral pull = 3x chills , i even run 4th focus sometimes but no comment on that. Based on my rather not publicly announced playtime and various necro vs thief encounter – i would REALISTICALY say

  • 1st chill – cleared by uninteruptable heal Withdraw
  • 2nd chill – random blind/dodge/LoS
  • 3rd chill – hit , just question if its covered AND if im still alive
  • 4th chil – Spinal trait proc – hmm this one probably lasts full 5s , till he either drops or heal off CD again.

….
So in total
….
in a 30s fight, even though i have around 70-100++% chill uptime with just 2-3 skills
….
the total chilled and slowed initiative regen time would be around 5-10s.

idk,
but we all know the preview specializations for thief are BULLCAT OP CZ SHADOW ARTS,
so it could be a new counterplay.
Still prefer shadow arts nerfed or just deleted

Hello.

The mentioned hero, has again, like in previous beta,

a tendency to waste time attacking enemy players instead of going for the gate.

It was mentioned and advertised that heroes dont stop, they just push, yet this guy does:

walk, aim, walk, hit shoutbow for 2k, knock him, walk again….by that time he could get 50% of gate down

SUGGESTION:

Heroes do just walk to gate,
but when they get to it – to not just stand and be AoE fodder,
they just do the guard shield bubble knockback or short prpjectile bubble. Then they just mumble at the gate.

Of course this turns into a “WARRIOR OP” rant.

Tbh i dont know why Rampage is the only “Transform” skill type that can channel stuff MIDWAY.

Mistform, plague, mini engie can only do 1 it before start.
DeathShroud – always been adressed as a transform by the devs – so you dont get weapon swap sigils with it, but also breaks and chanel even if its instant.

Tornado, lich – only have 1/5 bugy exploit to do it and they both even get only 1x stack of stab compared to 3×.

No mention on the damage and condi reduction.

Big Initial PROS:

  • LORD SPIN ATTACK – that thing hurts , we managed lord defense a lot easier as well as in other match wiping 3x TIMES before finaly getting it.
  • Treb – i suppose , havent seen good action from it yet like to prevent the hero spot

Big CONS:

  • Archers are useless. I could respawn and run back as a freakin necro – and 3 archers didnt do almost anything to the gate.
    The killing guards role is much easier done with players.
    Like you could spawn 5 archers to let them kill the inner guards – and 1 player will kill them in seconds.

Edit:
- a bit of fanboyism but:
- Necro is slooooow
- Condi nec is useless even with epidemic – unnerf the bleeds
- Power necro has good aoe, but its all on long CD – staff ele is better + support
