@Galtrix
I have a question for you? Do you have a tally of the number of people who specifically AVOID those games because of gear grind?
Let’s say there are 20 million people playing MMOs today. Maybe a bit more, maybe less. There are over 200 million gamers according to some estimates.
That means only 10% of the gaming population (again more or less) actually play MMOs. Ever ask yourself why?
Maybe if MMOs didn’t have gear grind, MORE people would be playing them.
Perhaps. But I’m guessing there are a lot of reasons for people not playing mmo’s. People play consoles, some people don’t like the idea of playing online all the time, some people suck at typing and are too embarrassed to play online. That’s my guess anyway. I’m guessing the amount of people specifically avoiding the games WITH the gear grind is pretty miniscule compared to the people that avoid the games for other reasons. Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have the gear grind, and the amount of people playing GW2 compared to WoW, a game with gear grind, is a lot less than WoW. Runes of Magic may have about the same playerbase as GW2, even though it’s f2p which is impressive. I had to google the part about WoW as I haven’t recently seen any numbers for their actual playerbase. I suppose it’s a matter of opinion on which aspect of the mmo you prefer though. I would be content with gear-grind, as would many other people, and I would also be content with more permanent additions to GW2. Others may not agree, and they think the living story content is enough. It depends on the majority of the people wanting more gear-grind or more content for Anet to do anything about it. From my experience, a lot of people want more gear.
Meaningful rewards that give you a sense of character/gear progression is a key component to keeping players interested.
Why gear progression? Why not other forms of character progression:
- Rising up the ranks in your Order and Race after the threat of Zhaitan has been dealt with (shame they did this through the story really, as opposed to in the world).
- Finding Skills and Traits all around the world, which depend on your profession? EG Warriors fight a weapons-master and meet a certain criteria (eg, attack the enemy when they’re knocked down to unlock +damage when foe is knocked down trait) to unlock a trait.
- Rather than give all 3 Explorable paths at once, make all 3 paths have different difficulty, and then unlock them as you beat each path, with appropriate rewards for each path. Maybe make it so only certain pieces of armour can be bought in each path.
You don’t need ever-rising stats to have a sense of progression.
I really like these ideas. I’m tired of the wow fans begging for more gear progression or a level raise. Adding more permanent story based content (sans trahearne) would be cool. Having what order I chose actually matter? That’d be cooler.
Sure, that would definitely work. This was the substitution method I was talking about earlier and it would work in place of the gear grind. I’d be happy with any progression at the moment. These are some great ideas that would improve the sense of accomplishment people get from completing difficult tasks. Anet just needs to implement some type of end-game to please the crowds.
There are a number of issues with your argument:
> States that nearly every gear grind game has been successful.
> Points out that no MMO has tried to change the gear grind until GW2.
To say that something is a ‘failure’ based on one sample doesn’t constitute as accurate evidence.
Second, how are you measuring success? Do you have stats for every single game you mentioned there? And do you have stats to show that gear grind is a leading contributor to their success?
Third, some of us aren’t ‘pretending’ that we don’t like gear grind. Some of us genuinely don’t. Unsure where you got that idea from.
Fourth, just because 410 people in your guild agree with you, that doesn’t mean that the majority do. Unsure how you could even present this as a valid argument.[/quote]
No, I agree that an mmo cannot be considered a failure due to no gear grind, but in terms of end-game content, Guild Wars 2 does not have the gear grind that other mmorpgs would. This means that there is a severe lack of end-game content, (and no, living story does not count. People finish those in a day.) If there were some substitute for a gear grind, then I would consider Guild Wars 2 to be up to par with other mmo’s, but no gear grind means that you will endlessly be doing CoF p1, meta bosses, and WvW.
Secondly, I do not have “stats” for every game. I’ve played these games personally for most of their mmo lives and have seen them change for the good and for the bad, experienced player’s discomfort with certain aspects of the game and I’ve experienced their joy when they get rewarded correctly. I can tell you from my experiences with WoW, Runes of Magic, and Lotro that players love to gain gear whether it be from dungeons, loot, or quests. I can speak for these games because I have played each since the beginning of their existence. It’s not coincidence that nearly every player I’ve come across loves to get more powerful gear. I definitely agree with Vayne that the people that don’t like to grind for gear come to other games that don’t have that grind, but they’re missing out on end-game content since GW2 has no substitute for it at the moment.
Thirdly, I know that some players don’t pretend to hate grinding and genuinely do hate it with a passion. I got that idea from multiple people that pretended they hated gear grind until I finally got it out of them that they secretly enjoy grinding for gear and progressing in power. GW2 barely has any armor progression at all.
Lastly, It’s not people from just one guild. That was one example I was using to prove a point. This actually happened in 3 of my guilds that I later quit because they all left to go to a game with more gear progression.
I definitely do not think every mmo that has gear grind is successful. There are other factors that lead to it being successful other than the gear grind, but if those are bad or lacking in content, the gear progression keeps people going. It’s the only reason I stayed with WoW for so long – because I felt that drive to get more gear even when I hit max level. Every time someone would beat me in PvP or I would die in PvE, I would google for armor that would improve the areas I’m lacking in. I don’t have that in GW2 at all. I can’t get more gear to constantly improve myself. All I can do is change my build around to better suit my needs, but it still doesn’t improve my already amazing build. I can’t fix something that’s not broken.
How many games with gear grind can I consider successful? Nearly every single game with gear grind has been successful. WoW, Runes of Magic, Rift, every korean mmorpg on earth, Everquest, Lord of the Rings online, Ragnarok, Star Wars the Old Republic, Fiesta online, Perfect World, and the list goes on.
Most of those failed, at least in the West.
How many MMORPGs without gear grind have failed in this side of the world?
Sure, mmorpgs die of course, as do all games eventually. You can count them successful when they’ve lived as long kitten years, which all of them have. WoW is still going strong, as well as Perfect World, Lotro, and Runes of Magic. I can pretty much guarantee GW2 will not last as long as even Runes of Magic.
Let me tell you this. In every single successful mmo out there, the developers have made a goal once you reach the max level. Can you guess what that goal might be? Getting armor. I’ve been playing mmo’s all my life, and I know that any successful mmo will need an armor grind to keep it going, and doing dungeons for armor or forever searching for better armor is a necessity. I know it doesn’t appeal to most of you, but I bet you have a small moment of absolute joy every time you got that armor piece to make you better in WoW. This is what Guild Wars 2 lacks big time. Once I got exotic armor, I was basically done with the game, but I continued to play and found nearly nothing else in this game that has the same appeal as the armor progression in WoW. Legendaries are out of the question (Threw away thousands of rares and exotics into the Mystic Forge), and ascended gear is just there to make it so people will stay around a little longer instead of quitting GW2. GW2 has no end game.
I’d rather have tons of people quit the game, and have a strong niche audience. Because gear grind won’t keep people in this game once other games with gear grind come out.
This is how it works (and I’m making these numbers up as an example).
Say 10,000,000 people play MMOs and 1,000,000 like games with gear grind as end game. That means 9,000,000 will end up not liking Guild Wars 2. However, if those 9,000,000 people have 20 choices, and they divide evenly, only 500,000 people will end up playing each one.
Guild Wars 2 will be the only MMO with gear grind and so it will keep it’s 1,000,000 players.
Those may not be accurate numbers but the theory is sound. Some people, obviously, don’t like gear grind. And those people may not be in the majority. But the majority fo the people who like it aren’t playing every game and once you divy them up, you end up with less people playing.
Put another way, how many games WITH gear grind would you consider successful by percentage?
Not to be rude, but it sounds like you haven’t played a lot of mmo’s. That may or may not be true, so I’ll not accuse you of not knowing what you’re talking about. The point I’m trying to make is that you may pretend not to like gear grind, but it’s the only thing that keeps many, many people interested until end-game. Everquest was the first to implement this idea, and Blizzard was smart enough to go along with it. No current mmo has even tried to change that gear grind until Guild Wars 2, and a ton of people don’t like that the gear is so easily attainable. I’ll give you a percentage. About 82% of people in my guild say they want more gear that will make them better. (This is just a rough estimate of the guild percentage) That’s 82% of 500 people. Because of this, I can safely say that the majority of players want way more gear to obtain and they don’t want to so easily obtain the max gear so early on. Without boasting it’s dynamic events, fun dungeons, and meta-bosses bigger than life itself, Guild Wars 2 would’ve died awhile ago.
After playing my Elementalist for 1500 hours, and my Thief for 1000 hours, I can say that I definitely prefer Elementalists. First of all, Elementalists can basically be a melee class while using the D/D build, which gives them survivability and very decent damage. Thieves can also use D/D but lack the survivability that Elementalists have. Especially after the latest patch, I found I am dying more and more frequently on my Thief.
Anet is jealous and doesn’t want people talking about moving on to other games.
Yeah… currently, GvG would not work on my server. There are the few strong guilds which have 500 members, I think there are only about four 500 member guilds on my server, and then there are the weak guilds that have less than 200 members, which is the rest of the guilds. My guild would probably destroy everyone’s guild because we have all level 80 members – so that’s not fair at all.
There doesn’t need to be a “progress bar for infractions”. Why would Anet implement a system that tells people that they can be bad for X amount of infractions? Wouldn’t it be better for Anet not to give people a specific number so those said people will be afraid that they just incurred another infraction and they think they will get banned if they do it again? Anet’s system works. It keeps people (some people) from insulting, cussing, or doing other bad things and makes them think twice about it. If you got ip banned, it was for a reason. You must have received lots and lots of infractions, because I’m up to about 20 and haven’t received a single ban.
Even if Anet made an expansion and sold it for 10 dollars… I wouldn’t buy it. People are right: It’s a blatant cash grab and it’s probably going to stay that way. I would happily support Anet if they sold the items in the gem store directly, and not through RNG within RNG, but it seems they are slowly edging toward complete and total RNG control of this game.
I would definitely stop and appreciate the events more if they added more rewards into them. Garbage blues/greens and 2 silver per level 80 event. Why would I appreciate that? All the living story does is create content that players will get angry about, and for good reason. Granted, some of the events are enjoyable…. until you reach the end and get kitten as a reward.
Too many hours spent tossing rares and exotics into the Mystic Toilet. The lack of actual rewards in this game is more than laughable. It’s downright ridiculous. If I spend half an hour running a dungeon, I want to get more rewards than a few measly dungeon tokens and useless greens/blues. There is literally no point in doing events once you hit level 80 because the events give 2 silver and some experience, which isn’t really needed anymore. I recently got my first exotic. This shouldn’t be surprising except that I’ve played more than 2000 hours, mostly running dungeons and doing meta bosses, but I’ve only gotten one exotic in 2000 hours. That’s unbelievably wrong. And it wasn’t even a good exotic. It sold for 1 gold 40 silver on the TP. In my opinion, exotics should drop AT LEAST every other day. Even every other week would be nice. Anet needs to fix the reward system fast, because I guarantee people will be leaving within the week. Don’t believe me? Look at how many precursor posts there are on the forums. Look at all of the complainers in-game complaining about the Mystic Forge. Usually I don’t condone complaining, but they actually have all the right in the world to complain about the Mystic Forge and the reward system.
And this is what makes me want to quit Guild Wars 2. 2500+ hours played, no precursor drop. 1000 hours dumping rares/exotics into the Mystic Toilet, no precursor. Participated in every meta boss that I could possibly catch every day for the past 8 months, no precursor. If anything will screw this game over, the precursors are the things that will do it.
I agree with Clumsy. This game favors berserkers everywhere in the game, except maybe WvW. Maybe. But, anyway, for dungeons I run berserker with sword/dagger and I find that the extra shadowstep/return skill helps a lot and it’s much easier to dodge in dungeons. Dungeons are the only places where I use sword/dagger though.
I look at other characters’ armor all the time. I tend to look a little closer if it’s glowing with fire or shiny, but I still throw a quick glance at different types of armor people are wearing. It’s gotten to the point now where I can name off any level 80 armor type and where they got it from. Now I just need to do that with weapons.
This is somewhat of a poll. Just imagine that Guild Wars 2 created five new, malignant monster races in the next expansion, in which they dwell in an entirely new continent, warring with Tyria. What five “monster” races would you wish to see?
My five are…
Ettin (Large, massive and dumb)
Centaur (Just imagine playing a four-legged centaur… so awesome)
Troll (Guild wars two makes them look sick)
Undead (Who wouldn’t want to play a disgusting, mindless, vile creature? ;P)
Flesh Reaver (Fear me!)I’m not understanding this: there are currently Ettins, Centaurs, Trolls, and undead. So, how can they be 5 new monster races?
I’m guessing the OP means playable races, not races that are currently in-game already.
Dont hate you, congratulations. DO hate the game mechanics with regard to this though. And ultimately, having thrown well over 500 rares and 100 plus exotics into the forge and got nothing, it is exactly what will make me quit when something else (heck, anything else, even GTA V…comes out).
In fact I hovered over the delete button earlier having thrown in another 50. Im sure I’m not alone. Wake up ANet, this is the most pathetic thing I have seen in a game in 25 years.
Agreed. I’ve hovered over the delete button many times over the past few days when I’ve thrown away precious exotics into the mystic toilet. This is the only part of the game I hate with a passion because it’s such a garbage way to make it to “end game”.
So I just bought a Turtle Beach headset for 60 dollars and I can gladly say that it was well worth it. I plugged them into my computer and started up Guild Wars, and oh. my. gosh. The sound was so amazing that I sat there stunned for a minute or two just listening to the sounds of the forest and the sound of the attacks/skills. This was a huge increase from my logitech headset that cost 45 dollars. What about you guys? What headsets do you prefer to use while playing Guild Wars 2 and why are they different from other headsets?
I totally agree. I love the feel of the dungeon as well as the challenge of it. Other dungeons make me go down maybe once, but this one killed me at least 9 times. I actually had to pay attention and think about the best ways to hop over electricity and defeat the boss.
The thief wins Guild Wars 2, gg everyone.
My guild is like that. It probably is only like that due to the massive amount of members it has. More people = better chance to meet people that are friendly.
I believe adding someone as a friend allows them to view your achievement scores by mousing over their name.
There are some closed threads that show all the patch notes that possibly are on their way. A quick perusal of the forum and you will find what you seek. =)
Still, I would recommend not spending any badges until the patch comes out, because those notes may be fake. It’s best not to guess at what build you think will work instead of just waiting and getting an awesome build on the first try with these new patches.
In every single other mmorpg I have played, the RNG has been NOWHERE near as horrid as it is in Guild Wars 2. I could spend maybe 2 hours collecting an entire set of amazing armor from dungeons in WoW. I haven’t even received a freaking exotic piece of anything and I’ve been playing for about 2500 hours total. RNG needs to be hit until it’s dead, thrown off a cliff, and trampled by horses until there is nothing left of the garbage. When I can’t even get a single exotic armor piece by playing 2500+ hours, there is something seriously wrong with the rng.
You’re…. you…. what? Huh?
This game FAVORS melee. D/D ele destorys most content. People prefer GS warrior over longgow/rifle. People prefer D/D ele over staff ele, people prefer D/D thief over sbow thief, people prefer sword/anything mesmer over GS mesmer.
You play one class and one weapon set and that’s how you determine this game doesn’t favor melee? Here’s a hint, if you want to go melee, don’t pick a ‘magical’ based class.
+1. I play staff Elementalist, longbow Ranger, and greatsword Mesmer and I get destroyed in PvE a lot. I’m forced to build Berserker gear, and I can do nothing but slow the enemy down until they get to me and 2 hit me. This game favors Melee characters, not ranged.
I had this bug recently, and Anet refused to give me the gold back because there “was no record in our logs of your transaction.” It’s a bug that they refuse to acknowledge, apparently. If you have a lot of money that disappeared, it may be time to quit like I did.
Some people create their characters based on their own personalities. Myself, I like to create evil characters so I can destroy everyone with my amazing powers. WoW was the only game I ever created a character that actually reflected my personality. I created a Paladin and helped everyone I came in contact with. But every game since then, evil, evil, evil. Being evil is fun. Oh, I also created an Elementalist so I could be like Darth Sidious and have lightning hands.
Welcome to the world of gaming, my friend. Once a game becomes too boring, or requires things we don’t want to give, we move on to other games. And once that game gets boring, move on again and again until the process ends when we die. Have fun!
Haha, I agree. I took one look at the numbers required for the achievements and went, “Yeah, I think I have better things to do.” Spending that much time smashing pinatas and launching fireworks is really, really lame. In WoW, I could spend maybe 10 minutes on an event and get what I wanted out of it. I don’t want to be forced to complete monotonous mini-games for what I want.
Yeah, Sylvari constantly deal with clipping issues and weapons floating behind their backs. I can’t speak for other races, but this is just my experience.
I bought it instantly, but it left no trace of the transaction at all. If nothing else, this experience will help Anet fix the bug so no other people will lose their gold/items, but I really hope I get some compensation for this.
Again, I’d really like this answered asap as I still have not received the scepter, or my money back at the Trading Post.
I log in for 5 minutes at least once every two weeks to see if anything has improved. If not, I log out and play WoW.
I don’t want an expansion until they fix the current state of the game. Seriously… there’s something wrong when I’ve played almost 2500 hours and haven’t received a single exotic drop. The drop-rate issues are now almost as bad as Diablo 3’s drops were. Why would I want an expansion that’s just as broken as the current game?
There are indeed!
We’ve had a lot of feedback from folks asking for more difficult places in the game that can be more rewarding to play in. Our intent with Orr (and Southsun) is to create areas that are more fun/difficult for groups to play through event chains, with events that scale better when larger groups of players show up than the rest of the game, rather than the old versions that fell apart when more than a group or so of players showed up.
Thus the continual updates this year to make the creatures in Orr have more varied skills, the swap over to the new event scaling system that creates veterans/champions as content scales up, and the updates to Southsun to have more playable content. The one thing that’s really missing is the rewards to help make playing in these locations more even exciting and rewarding than they are now.
We want champions to be more rewarding, so places like Orr/Southsun where events can scale up to create champions become one of the more fun and rewarding places in the game to play, since events there can be champion on demand generators to an extent. We’d also like to tie in additional unique rewards to the temple chains, to make those more worthwhile and differentiate them from the giant boss encounters (which we’ll also be upgrading to be more exciting) to give a reason to do each in a day. We’d also like to add more value and use to blue/green items, so things like killing vets feels more rewarding when those type of items drop when doing those events in Orr as well.
And of course, we’d like to remove culling from PvE as well so you can experience these events in all their glory when they do scale up.
We’ll go into specifics on all of this in an updated version of the Gw2 in 2013 blog post sometime in July focusing on our plan for the 2nd half of the year and how we plan to improve the core game experience. As a reminder, you can find the original detailing our high level plan here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/colin-johanson-on-guild-wars-2-in-the-months-ahead/
Awesome! I’m glad to finally see that the value of blues/greens are being looked at. It always made me sad to receive pointless blues and greens that would sell for about 1 silver each. While we’re on this topic, I feel like it’s my duty to point out that I haven’t received a single exotic drop since launch, and I have almost 2500 hours in this game. Drop rates, and the value of those drops need to be increased please.
Earlier today, I decided I wanted to buy a really expensive scepter called “Abyssal Scepter” from the trading post in LA. So, I clicked on the icon, looked in the pick-up section, but it wasn’t there. I then looked in my inventory, found that it wasn’t in there either, but about 100 gold was gone from my inventory! This has happened to me once before, awhile ago, but it was with a very inexpensive staff that I decided wasn’t worth the trouble of crying about. 100 gold is a very different thing though. I’d appreciate it if this could get a response as quickly as possible. Thanks in advance!
I agree that it is a ripoff, but I actually think that is the intention. They want you to see the price and instead of pulling out your credit card / in-game gold, step back and go “Whoa, that’s pricey, maybe I should stay on my server instead”. Seeing as how server means absolutely nothing outside of WvW with the introduction of Guesting (and the fact that instances are cross-server already), this makes sense. That said, they also don’t want players who are desperate for WvW with their friends being held out from doing so, and that is why we’re still allowed to change servers at all.
If you want to play with your friends in their guild and do PvE/PvP content, you can do all of that already at no charge. If this is strictly about WvW, however, then you really need to cost-analyze it. Do you want to support that server that much? If so, then go for it, and it’s worth the money. If not, then don’t and never look back.
Umm, I don’t think that’s what Anet intended when they set the price that high. I honestly think one of them just said, “Well, looks like we can squeeze them for all the money they didn’t spend on RNG, so let’s set the price to 30 bucks.” Pure greed, and not an actual feeling of care for the game.
Actually, the GW2 economy has slowly declined in quality since about a month ago, people are getting bored and quitting left and right, and the rewards are still the same crap they have been. Anet brought in too much RNG and people got angry, and left. I’m lucky to see one person within 5 hours of playing, unless I go to LA, and then I see 10 people. So, simply, no. There are no changes that would bring anyone back to this game. WvW is also still boring, and Gw2 is just digging itself a grave with more pointless temporary content.
You see 10 people in LA, you mean 5 am in Vabbi ?
Ignore this guy.
And WvW is better than ever.
Funny. Please tell me how WvW is better than ever, when it wasn’t changed in the first place. I think you need to apply some logic here. If he said WvW was bad, and nothing changed, doesn’t that mean it’s still bad? And the 10 people in LA was on a Saturday at around 5:30 pm. That’s the most people I’ve seen in LA since about a month ago. Of course, there are some people that make things out to be better than they actually are, which is what this guy is doing. WvW is almost pointless. I say almost because buffs are given to the entire server for doing well in WvW. Other than that, pointless.

It’s always a possibility. Like someone else said in another post: Players don’t decide where they go, Anet does. If Anet decides to funnel players into Orr for events that are garbage, but a higher quality garbage than other events in other places, it’s their decision.
I’m not going for a legendary, because I find it a huge waste of time.
Yeah right. This game has some of the most bland looking armor/weapons I have ever seen in any mmo. I don’t get Anet’s thinking on the weapons or the armor. In WoW, the weapons would start out boring at level 1, and then as you progressed in level, the weapons/armor would get really cool until they were amazing. In GW2, they start giving the coolest weapons/armor almost right away, or randomly, and the weapons actually start to look worse as you progress in level. Even the supposedly “cool” weapons in GW2 pale in comparison to WoW’s. The only longbow I use is the longbow I got from Ascalonian Catacombs.
Honestly, that would require a large amount of time spent studying where everything is for a new player. If I was a new player, I would rather not spend more time on the wiki looking at where everything is than in the actual game.
Just wondering whether we can get confirmation if adding support for Raid Groups is even in development?
Not another one of these threads…..
Please use the search function before creating duplicate threads for subjects that have already had multiple discussions. The mods have to keep merging these and they have better things to do.
The short answer to your question is no. Nothing has ever been mentioned about adding raids or even a suggestion of them being in development or even that anyone inside anet has even given them any thought at all. You could ask the same question about adding flying saucers to the game and it would have just about the same relevance.
If the mods have better things to do, then why are they continuing to merge the threads? Anyway, raid groups would be fun.
There are plenty of titles in the game. I’ve gotten somewhere between 10-15 since launch. How many do you need? 100?
I agree. I really don’t see the need to flaunt new titles that show off your accomplishments anyway. I mean, how many people are actually going to stop the questing they’re doing and think to themselves, “Hey, that’s a nice title that guy has. I’d like to have one myself to show off.”
I like to think of myself as a hard-core casual.
I’m not particularly looking for challenge in an MMO, I’m looking for fun. I just want to sort of roam around and enjoy myself. I don’t mind occasional challenges, but I’m not always up for them.
I do a lot of everything. I bounce around a lot. I’m not too focused on just getting a legendary or just getting dungeon master, or just finishing my personal story. I’ll get there. When I feel like doing something, I do it.
I’m also a big fan of helping other people. Particularly but not limited to people in my guild. Anyone needs help with a dungeon or WvW or just finding a vista, I’m there.
I guess you could say I’m a social player, who enjoys the world for what it is, without putting too much pressure on the game to entertain me, because over the years I’ve learned to entertain myself.
Guild Wars 2, so far, is the only MMO that actually fits my play style.
Yeah, honestly there’s nothing “hardcore” about what you said you like to do. People that are hardcore rush to get things done, want things as fast as possible, and are dedicated to a specific part of the game until they complete it. In other words, they focus on certain aspects of the game, giving it their undivided attention, until they finish so they can move on as quickly as possible. I know this because I’m a hardcore player myself, and I know that I focus on individual aspects of the game. Unfortunately, when I finished the most important aspects of the game, (hitting 80, getting all exotic/ascended, and getting everything I wanted), I found that there was nothing left in the game to hold my interest. I tried to become a casual gamer at first, but it was so boring that I instantly went to other games. So, no. I suppose I’m not a gamer like you
This happened about 4 times to me. Things like this normally aren’t a big deal, but I’ve been especially poor lately and that was the last of my money. If I don’t get the money back, I may quit. I’ve lost the will to run CoF part 1 or any other dungeons, so I think I’ll just take some time and then come back to the game if this doesn’t get resolved quickly
My server is nearly dead as well. I rarely see anyone on Gate of Madness, because people started quitting GW2 left and right on my server. I’d be lucky to see two people in 5 hours nowadays. I swear, the entire server must have had a meeting and decided to quit GW2 right then and there and I wasn’t invited.
Funny how you guys still manage to accumulate good numbers for WvW.
Why does everyone always say their server is dead when it clearly isn’t?
Have you taken a look at our WvW recently? It’s due to pretty much everyone on the server doing WvW on a specific day all at once. I’m not going to tell you which day because it would give an unfair advantage to you, but a bunch of people decided that our WvW was nearly a lost cause and they shout out in LA when it’s time for the WvW gathering. This is the only way we can possibly do anything in WvW. I don’t know what servers you’re looking at, but mine is clearly dead. That’s for WvW, and for PvE, I can’t find a group for a dungeon anymore unless it’s CoF part 1.
