I don’t think it’s ever going to happen, the console manufacturers have rules about in-game cash shops and subscriptions that the publishers won’t go along with.
It’s the same reason as to why you won’t find GW2 on Steam.

Bottom line, if a developer puts out a game and says flat out “this is still being worked on, but it’s complete enough we want people to play and give feedback”, I won’t complain about it being unfinished.
You can safely assume this now applies to every single online game.
(and is also generally true about most other applications and games)

unfortunately, the industry is going in the other direction.
More games are being sold while still in beta and in fact a lot of games are using early access as a marketing tool. The positive fan reaction to this trend has pretty much guaranteed that “perfect on release, never to be patched” products are a thing of the past and that the new norm is continuous development.

FYI the farmers that farm linen get mad when you finish the event , cause if you set it up from the start ( witch you need to do most of the time ) it takes about 45min to set up that farm spot.
So when selfish people like you show up and ruin it , yes they get mad , specially when they ask you nicely to NOT finish it.
1 good farm spot in game VS a TONE of events you can go do some where else.
Thats why we cant have nice things . to many selfish solo players in GW2.
Players finishing the event are not ruining anything, they’re playing the game as it is intended.
The ones being selfish here are the farmers that are exploiting an event. They don’t get to call ‘dibs’ and take ownership of the event, it’s there for all the players and it’s there to be completed.

This trend frightens me when I get back into console gaming, the idea a game just released is needing to be patched after it was considered finished enough to be shipped. I mean, a couple months down the line, fine . . . but a day one patch?
So between the ship date and the release date, devs should just sit on their hands and not work on fixes till a few months after release?

the problem with that is that regardless of how motivated someone is, the vast majority of players have no impact on whether their server wins or not.
If you want to reward players based on their performance, you have to evaluate their performance, not the global performance of their server.
otherwise, player A could spend an hour following a zerg from keep to keep and get end of week rewards because their server won, but player B who spent 20 hours defending towers, running supplies, etc.. they get nothing because their server just doesn’t have the coverage. neither of those situations would encourage a player to try harder for a win.

Conditions in general are already way overpowered and ridiculous.
I don’t understand why ppl keep repeating this nonsense.
the player base spent a year kittening about thieves and warriors being OP, suddenly condition builds start to catch up just a little and the easymode gankers are up in arms.
perma stealth was overpowered and ridiculous
stun-lock was overpowered and ridiculous
conditions in general? not remotely overpowered and accessible by way more classes than previous problem mechanics.

I see some merit to the first idea, though I would add an extra reward on tick rather than completely replacing the event reward itself.
as for rewards being conditional on the server winning: this basically locks out 2/3 of the player base, most of which have zero power to affect the outcome. It would lead to big drops in activity once the match is decided.
ie: in most cases it wouldn’t make players try harder to win , it would make them give up faster.

I think the reason it’s at 40% is to have an actual impact on all condition skills.
ie: a large portion of the conditions applying skills have really short durations, for which a 10% bump would have zero effect.

I do the reverse: if I’m about to be run over by a zerg I will just /sit.
If they’re going to treat me like a practice dummy, that’s the level of challenge I’m going to offer them.

It’s not more spammable than copy/pasting something. Team chat has no suppression. I don’t get why canned text isn’t a commander function.
It’s one button press instead of three, meaning you can spam it 3 times as much.

it would be incredibly easy for Anet to just add keybindings to chat strings in the options menu (that’s like a mornings worth of work)
The reason that this kind of feature isn’t in the game is not because it’s hard to make, it’s because it leads to too much spam. If you make your own macro to replicate it, you’ll notice you’ll bump up again chat suppression really quickly.

how would you go about infracting someone for “you didn’t show up to defend a keep”?
maybe you didn’t notice that I used the word “unofficially”? it’s not an overt agreement, it’s just an how the zerg movements ends up syncing to one another(Server A is taking all of Server B’s BL keeps so Server B just goes to BL A to do the same.. then they each go home and retake all their keeps, rinse repeat.)
This is already happening but it was much much worse when WXP was first released and everyone was obsessed with farming it.
and if you don’t think that PvE rewards are balanced around potential exploits… you clearly have not been paying attention to the game’s evolution

The only auto condition on Necro is scepter and in the time you built up a decent stack, the ranger maxed them long ago.
Why are you so focused on auto-fire spam as being the only factor? it seems like you’re ignoring 95% of the class and complaining that auto-mode isn’t as brain-dead as it is on rangers.
also, if you really do want to just compare their auto-fire bleed stacks: the ranger ones don’t last as long nor do they cause as much damage. you’re essentially saying that your 10 pennies are better than his 3 nickels

Fights for a keep can last hours.
They can also last 5 minutes, and there’s already a history of servers unofficially agreeing to trade keeps back and forth just to farm rewards.

He’s not doing anything wrong.
1. Necromancer weapon sets just don’t have that synergy between the skills the way that warrior skills do (guardian weapon sets are even better). If you play staff or axe, you are stuck with a lousy auto attack that you have to use because of cooldown timers, if you play dagger or scepter, you are stuck with underwhelming or unnecessary 2 or 3, which causes you to be a 1 spammer most of the time.
2. Other classes can burst conditions better than necromancer, Other classes can sustain conditions better then necromancer. I don’t know how this is a dispute. Necromancer has epidemic (overrated), and dagger 4/staff 4 (good but constantly nerfed), to go with signet of spite and corrupt boon. These are why Necromancer’s are titled masters of condition, but three of these are conditional in pvp and situational/useless in PvE.
You don’t seem to understand this class very well either.
I wish I could give more precise feedback as to why, but basically every single thing you’ve just said is wrong.

Hybrid Necros run Rampager, it’s actually key to the build.
The problem with Rampagers is that you get backstabbed for literally 60% of your HP on a necro (which has the most HP), and the tradeoff is hitting a little harder. Not a good tradeoff considering you have no crit damage, weaker condition damage than a standard condition build, and lots and lots of precision; arguably too much.
crit dmg is usually around 30-50% for the hybrid build. (depending on traveler vs celestial runes and trinket choices)
also, the tradeoff isn’t just “hitting a little harder”, it’s the extra 3-4 conditions that proc on-crit.

the player limit on a map(how many it will allow before creating overflow instances) is not based only on performance issues, Anet has factored in balance issues.
ie: even if the servers and every player’s system could handle it, do you really want to have 600 ppl fighting the same champ?
They have to set an upper limit on the encounter size to make any kind of balance choices.
