Because we can’t be angry about both?
The royal terrace (which is essentially the same as the airship pass) has been on sale at least twice, and coupled with the airship pass, it seems like they go on sale about twice a year. I remember the terrace pass was part of the wintersday sale when it came back last year.
There’s no way to get any candy corn anymore, so it should be increasing little by little in my opinion.
Not entirely true. Not to say that Candy Corn nodes available to players would cover all of the anticipated usage, but it can add to supply at any time.
Don’t forget that you can also get the recipe for Vial of Maize Balm, as well as the vials themselves, which also produce a ton of candy corn and other halloween items. MY guess it will follow watchwork sprockets, it’ll bottom out for a bit, then climb back up, and level out.
I’ve blundered with the candy corn nodes, but honestly they seem like a drop in the ocean :P
And vials of maize balm? Did you even check the recipe?
At the very best it’ll give you 9 ToT bags for 100(!!!) candy corn!
Though I guess it’s possible to co-operate with other players about it…It depends on where you are using the bags. There are places with a very high concentration of ambient creatures to use them on, which will generate more then 9 bags. Also the candy corn drop rate per bag is an average of 9 pieces. (http://wiki-en.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trick-or-Treat_Bag/research). So even if you did get the 9 bags, you can still get an average of 81 candy corns per vial, couple that with the candy corn node, and you can easily get enough candy corn to make more vials, and still have extra candy corn. However, as I said, there is still a trickling supply, and will follow the watchwork sprockets in that there are still ways to get them, without buying them off the TP, and the price for them will climb a bit, the level out.
Each toss of the balm will only transform 3 creatures, so the most you can get from one balm is 9.
I always run for the water before I realize I need to turn around. The old Mystic Forge WP faced the forge, and I think that’s why.
I would say that this part of the mail human characters got is rather clear that it does take the defeat of Zhaitan into consideration:
After working so hard to defend Tyria, we could use some fun. Just in time, the Ship’s Council of Lion’s Arch is hosting a “Dragon Bash” festival to celebrate our victories– past, present, and future–against the Elder Dragons.
I wouldn’t really say we had any real victories against the Elder Dragons before the death of Zhaitan.
Victory can be defined as many things. Ever heard the phrase “We lost the battle, but not the war” before? Killing an elder dragon is not the only way to define a victory against them.
I’m just going to leave this here…
Yeah, it’s so whiny to expect people to mean what they say. Super unreasonable.
Sorry about killing your thread, Guhracie. I really thought my post there was relevant :-/ I was sad to see it locked.
I still feel bad for Gaile. It feels like after the communication blow-up, they just shoved her outside of the ArenaNet fortress of silence, bound and gagged, and told her to do a little dance to keep us entertained. As much as I’d like to see the things she’s said in that thread come true, it’s not up to her to make them happen. :-(
<3 Gaile, even though I’ve been a kitty to you sometimes!
Oh, I’m not blaming you for it, not even a little. I blame myself, honestly. I just felt like that response was relevant to the topic of this thread. I hope I haven’t misstepped by mentioning it.
I’m guessing they haven’t got resources to pull any changes to traits now that living story 2 is going on. Trait change came just before season 2 and now they are busy doing story.
When LS2 finishes I hope there will …finally…… be changes to traits. Changes that players have hoped for 7 months.
No. There was a second feature patch right in the middle of S2. If they wanted to fix this, they could’ve done it then. I mean, they managed to course correct some major flaws that arose because of the second feature patch. The gem exchange has already gotten a massive overhaul due to feedback.
I’m just going to leave this here…
Yeah, it’s so whiny to expect people to mean what they say. Super unreasonable.
That was what I was thinking, initially. Then we had Halloween, so I want to know why Dragon Bash was avoided this year.
I would assume because the first one was quite tied into the defeat of Zhaitan and as such it wouldn’t really make much sense to celebrate the defeat of an Elder Dragon in the middle of the Rise of another one.
It was tied into the defeat of Zhaitan?
“Dragon Bash is a release launched on June 11th, 2013. It is a holiday event inspired by the historical Dragon Festival, but with a Lion’s Arch flair, intending to symbolize the resistance to the Elder Dragons.”
-GW2 Wiki
“Lion’s Arch honors the defiant spirit of its citizenry with the rousing Dragon Bash festival, when revelers laugh in the face of fear! "

The world boss schedule. I feel like some of the larger bosses could run more often, but overall, it’s handy.
My first “wow” moment while playing was this little segment of music in the Grove. It was so stunning, I couldn’t believe it was part of the soundtrack.
My first “wow” moment while viewing the gameplay was looking at the way dyes worked on armor. Then the amount of customization at character creation.
The first time I went to Labyrinthine Cliffs was amazing, and I practically live in that zone when it’s live.
The first time I jumped Troll’s End with no help. Ditto Vizier’s Tower, back when you had to jump all the way to the top to get credit.
Doing silly, open-world “RP” on my asura dude, Khaleesi Eirsdottir, and the response from the community nearby.
Marionette.
Seeing Bruce Warbanner, a norn, with the title “Avenger”, and an absolutely perfect “Hulk” look.
When Chris Whiteside offered to play through the NPE with a group of us. It never happened, though.
Super Adventure Box
The fact that combat was action-oriented and moving could make the enemy miss. Also, casting while moving.
Map completion in Orr. I don’t remember the map, but it’s the one with the skillpoint in a maze.
Using my commander tag to lead a Labyrinth zerg. Thanks for being patient with me, everyone!
When I realized there was no sub fee.
When I realized I could join more than 1 guild at a time.
My first week of playing, a random guy stopped and patiently watched me painstakingly jump through Sharkmaw, helping me out with tips for Charr jumping. (The key is not to watch where the feet are, like with other races- you want to watch where the midsection is. This advice hasn’t failed me. Also, we are still friends.)
When I identified an abyss dye.
Tybalt. Every. Time.
Winning the sanctum sprint. I love that minigame.

I logged in to find after almost a year to find my ranger’s traits refunded and the new system in place.
First, let me say that I do think it will be easier for new players to learn how to pick traits.
Second, I think doing events for traits is a good thing…honestly, fun to do them with your guild.
Third, MMOs change all the time. SWTOR, the game we play most often, is completely redoing their abilities in an expansion coming out on December 1st. I know most people will hate it but there are things you have to get used to in life or go somewhere else..such as, my company selling our division to another company and we have no say in it. You change or you leave….goes for real life and the game.
Doing events for traits, sure. Doing map complete for a single adept-level trait? No.
If you read between the lines you can see what this “earnings report” is really about:
You owe me a new monitor, and keyboard. Hilarious!
Not only am I not buying gems and playing as often as I was prior to the April patch (with the exception of Halloween), and not only am I not recommending the game, I am actively discouraging my friends from purchasing and/or returning to the game. Additionally, I’m making sure new players know that traits used to cost 2g60s to unlock all of them. And that they used to be obtainable starting at level 11.
But still no one can even answer that question – why the trait stuff is bugged so frequently. Obviously the best time to get them done is immediately after a patch hits, because that’s when the servers have reset.
Why we can’t get an official word on thesequests and the collections they’re tied to, well… is the policy to blame there as well?
The best form of communication is not to talk about things, and certainly not to do anything about them.
-Someone at ANET, probably.
Since it’s was tied to LS Season 1 storyline I wouldn’t hold my breath but who knows.
It wasn’t tied to the S1 story, it was a festival with historical roots. However, with Lion’s Arch destroyed…. wait, we had Halloween, so… seems like Dragon Bash would be the way to go to get everyone even more pumped up about punching Mordy in the face.
Because town clothes don’t share the same mesh as the various armor classes. So the helms were made wearable in combat, and the outfits were made wearable in combat, and anything that didn’t fit with the combat moves was made into a tonic. There’s an extensive thread on it, as Inculpatus has said.
Is that extensive thread going to basically say “couldn’t be bothered to maintain the older superior level of customization we previously provided after we added the new feature of allowing players to use outfits in combat " ..?
Because I’m not sure I need an extensive thread to reach that conclusion, and it sure sounds like that’s how things can ultimately be summarized. I’m also not even remotely convinced that being allowed to use outfits in combat is worth the loss of being able to pick and choose which outfit pieces to wear. As someone who has no plans of dressing up like a chef while fighting the undead the ability to use outfits in combat is meaningless to me. The loss of being able to cobble a unique outfit together from different town-clothing pieces, however, is a significant loss.
A few of the responses in this thread feel like they’re coming straight out of ANET’s marketing speech. “You’ve lost the features you care most about but that’s a good thing! Truly!”. I spent real money on town clothes based on how they used to work at the time I made those purchases, and I’m not at all thrilled that all that money has now apparently been wasted. I didn’t purchase town clothing to use in combat, and I didn’t purchase town clothing sets for their entire look but rather for how the individual elements in those sets could be used and combined to make different outfits.
An extensive thread isn’t going to make me feel like I got cheated any less.
All we’re doing is telling you what ANET told us. So, if it sounds like marketing speech, you have the answer why. Don’t get mad at me, I’m just the messenger. It’s just that if you want to feel outraged with a group of people, that thread is the place to go. Most of us have felt the outrage/disappointment already. It’s been seven months since this was implemented. It’s exhausting to maintain that level of outrage for that long.
Nothing is off the table.
The solution is to block that person. It’s super easy. Report for harassment, then block. Problem solved.
Because town clothes don’t share the same mesh as the various armor classes. So the helms were made wearable in combat, and the outfits were made wearable in combat, and anything that didn’t fit with the combat moves was made into a tonic. There’s an extensive thread on it, as Inculpatus has said.
Maybe this is an old complain, but why is it not possible to release only one dyeble version of the Mask? Does the glow incur in some technical limitation to change the color at will?
it incurs the inability to recolor it and sell it in the gemstore for more profit.
Imaginos, so have the events with the Ogre Wars and the Dredge Commisar, but these don’t get any attention either. These are too easily bugged and have key items attached to them for collections purposes, so a lot of people potentially can be doing them at once.
Why is it so easy for Anet to ‘fix’ stuff that is originally overlooked by them, then exploited by us, and yet so hard for them to fix a series of events for the betterment of the game (improving the experiences with collections)? Neither takes more thought or planning than the other.
Quaggan is disappointed.
Events tied to obtaining traits are still bugged. This is just how the game is. Think of it as a “feature” which allows the quests to be more elusive and thus more exciting if you can ever complete them.
More than anything (on the subject of new weapons for professions we already have), I want engineers to be able to use hammers. Then I want them to be able to use maces. I also think they should be able to use torches.
Thieves with rifles and sword off-hand are my next wish.
I’m not convinced that the next time Gaile visits this thread, it won’t be to lock it.
I’ll take your word for it. And buy 6 for 100 gold. I’m not sure how many people stock up on this though. It used to cost 3 gold? each?
Hahaha. Hahahahahaha! Haha. Oh this is funny.
Ok. Ok. Phew. Ok.
So, at the crafting cost of 30 silver each, selling maizebalm will always come at a loss, right? But, hahahaha, ok ok… Sorry. But you know what the best part is? You can only craft 1 maize balm per day per account! Hahahahaha! You’d never get the 100g back before the next Halloween!
Trick or treat!
We are talking about the recipes for the maize balm, not the maize balm itself.
I already made over 400g profit on the recipes during the first buy out of supply.Joke is on you.
Why would it? I didn’t buy an item you inflated for an hour through your post – from 5 to 458 gold to 7 gold. I was talking about the buyers of a recipe that will never make a profit. And yes, of course you made a profit, you’re the one who caused this bubble in the first place!
At least he’s not making rumor about flying pig mount that can be bought with candy corn….
Oh wait, he made similar rumor before with sprocket lol. But take it easy. People are always spaming rumors. I’m willing to take the risk. 100 gold isn’t a big deal to me. It just depends how many hundred if not thousands people stock up. I’m not sure how many Wanz stock up.
And my guess is you stock up on candy corn or bags too, that’s why you are talking about it. Someone says the dev talked about the number of candycorn drop during the events. It’s ridunculous. I can’ remember the number.
edit. Actually here is a quote 10’s of billions of candy corn. I’m not sure if that is actually number or figurative speech.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/I-have-a-question-about-the-economy/first#post4216795
That post was from July, and it was talking about how much candy corn dropped during year one, and how that impacted year two.
How do you know what race I’m thinking of?? >.<
I for one like the new trait system a lot, it’s like in Gw1 where you had to go out in the world and use a signet of capture, but i guess most people today are entitled little idiots who don’t like to work for anything at all.
Also this is insane i know, but i know a way to get a traid withouth doing the event/boss/veteran/whatever.
ok here it comes…..
you can BUY it straight of a trainer! OMG!!!!! so insane!!! whaaaat so you are saying that i can actually just buy them instead of crying like a little kitten ?
Yes that is correct.
“Entitled little idiots”
“crying like a little kitten”
I’m sorry, but you think this is an okay way to talk to people?
It costs 43g and 360 skillpoints to buy all the traits from the vendor. Prior to April of this year, it was 2g70s for all 60 traits.
Yes. I want the game that I originally purchased. Maybe that makes me “entitled,” I don’t know. But if the new trait system is so wonderful, then it shouldn’t be a problem to set the price back to what it was originally. If the new trait system is so engaging and fun and easy-to-use, most people won’t bother spending that 3g, right?
Reason for edit: Temper got the better of me.

Guys, the glassdoor stuff is interesting, and the link is fine, but let’s try not to get this thread closed for being off-topic. We don’t need to wave a red banner around about these issues. It’s not constructive. Thanks.
My phrasing was poor about the posts earlier this year. I meant that Ms. Grey posted about support issues, and then other devs posted patch notes, and there were random comments here and there by “reds,” which really didn’t amount to much.
I appreciate your comment that it wasn’t my original post that sparked yours, though. I am earnest about this thread’s intended topic, and I’m glad it shows.
Whine about communication being bad after you’ve played a game where there wasn’t a single new post in the Dev Tracker for months. You people have no clue what bad communication is.
Earlier this year, the only dev posts in the dev tracker were from Gaile Grey on support issues, patch notes, and the occasional random comment. For about four months. I do know what bad communication is. This is it. The devs explicitly came out and said it was a problem that needed to be fixed. I’m not whining, I’m responding to their claims of improvements.

You forgot “Nothing is off the table” in your list.
Well, all of the living story is now replayable, and the zones it introduces are permanent. But if you’re interested in making new alts, I’d suggest you research the NPE (new player experience) and the April trait changes.
I don’t know if the wallet was just being used as an example or what, but the wallet came out in August of 2013, so it’s not part of this year’s list of accomplishments.
I don’t know that I’d say this is a good year for Anet. I think it’s been a turbulent year. I think that there are plenty of unfair comments on the forums but plenty of fair ones too. The game has made progress…and yes I’ve liked both new zones, but there’s plenty that requires attention that hasn’t received attention.
In short, I’m still enjoying the game, but just as I don’t really kow tow to the doom and gloom crowd, I don’t think it’s really fair to say this has been a good year for Anet.
I’m hoping next year will be a better year though.
If Anet can avoid some of the stumbles it’s made this year, next year might well be better.
With this thread I just wanted to put the hate and loathing aside and say how much better this year is compared to 2013.
And nobody can deny that.
I absolutely can deny that. I’d trade everything I liked about this year’s updates if it meant I could enjoy leveling my alts again. And since Dry Top and Silverwastes are chugging along at about 1fps for some bizarre reason, I can’t even count that content as enjoyable, personally.
2013 was MUCH more enjoyable for me. Just because it wasn’t more enjoyable to you doesn’t make your opinion an undeniable truth.
These forums are not a grey market.
Yes, that’s what is meant by “still has a destroyed waypoint.”
I wanted to clarify that it wasn’t a response to FlamingFoxx, which referred to the episode before this latest one.
Nope. Fort Mariner in LA still has a destroyed waypoint. All Taimi did was make it so the other waypoints were not attractive to Mordremoth. She didn’t repair anything.
Okay, thank you, that’s what I thought. Is that still true after the latest episode?
I can’t enjoy the LS experience because Dry Top for one reason or another causes my client to chug along at 3 fps. not 33, not 30, 3. As in, three frames per second.
Considering I can run a majority of the game in the mid 20’s to upper 30’s FPS, Dry Top confuses and infuriates me.
Drytop and Silverwastes both do this to me. There’s no reason the game should run fine everywhere else, but be lag central in the new zones.
Can anyone confirm this? I thought I’d played all the previous episodes, but maybe I’m not caught up after all.
Although there was that SAB item datamined from Tuesday’s patch…

Yeah, I saw that, but my speculation is that it’s for a PvP reward track.
A lot of people would probably rage about this but I’d be thrilled.
I would come very close to becoming one of the people on these forums to whom I refer as “speshul snowflakes,” having gotten my storm wizard weapons through sheer blood, sweat, and tears. Then I would take a step back, breath deeply, and be over it.
I’d only get upset in a lasting way if they make this pvp track without also bringing back SAB at the same time- that would be a slap in the face to those of us who really enjoyed it.
It’s different than the “speshul snowflakes” because you’re not opposed to other people getting the items, it’s a matter of difficulty scaling. If it’s a PvP track, it’s practically negligible, compared to trib mode.
Do the perpetually broken waypoints get fixed in the latest bit of LS? Thanks in advance.

2. If I do instant-sell my random not-junk-but-not-wortwhile items via TC, is this considered griefing (because I’m enabling flippers, or maybe undercutting crafting characters who can’t sell that low because construction costs are too high)?
It’s an open market- you’re not griefing by selling at the price people are willing to pay.
Wandered away a month or so ago, just came back to unlock the story chapter and see if they’d even bothered to reply to the thread.
All I’m asking, after months of trying to get a response is this: Are there changes on the development schedule, or are you just waiting for the storm to die down?
I have to tell ya, I miss Guild Wars, but I’m an altoholic, and I cannot, simply cannot face doing this absurd song and dance to trait another character. And i realize that my little gem card a month is a pittance in the grand scheme, but I cannot be the only old-timer who has stopped playing and stopped buying gem cards.
I just want to know if there’s any chance at all that you’re going to do something so that customers who bought character slots aren’t faced with these Sisyphean tasks over and over and over again.
Because it’s just breaking my heart that I can’t experience this gorgeous game the way I want to experience it, but instead must follow someone else’s plan for my play time. And I’d just as soon not play your way, but would like to go back to the game’s ideal state of being able to play my way.
Colin did say they were working on something for altoholics…but that’s all that was said.
Reminds me of how John Smith said in April that changes were coming to the mystic forge and he thought we’d all be super pleased about them. The implication was that those changes would be in the feature patch, but he’s since said that they’re not in yet.
EDIT: Oh, he said it before April. This references it:
The mystic forge changes are a work in progress. What I will promise is that when it is done you will like it much better than you do now.
I will hold you to this statement, and applaud your courage and openness; communication regarding changes in this game need a lot of more of both.
(edited by Guhracie.3419)
Anet explicitly said it was coming back in the future, on these very forums I believe.
I’d like to see a source for that.
Said here. Some believe it to be as early as Q4 2021, but maybe later yet.
Ahaha, love it. Thanks for finding that for me. I’d given up on that thread, as it was so depressing to read. Interestingly enough, I’m only slightly reassured. Because, truthfully, without that statement, they’d be obligated to issue refunds on the infinite continue coins. I can only imagine how they’ll handle the return of SAB, given all the recent changes that were blanketed with protests, and their response was to say, “But you SAID you wanted this! We’re only doing what YOU WANTED!” I’m not feeling positive they’re going to avoid corrupting the SAB wish, too.
Anet explicitly said it was coming back in the future, on these very forums I believe.
I’d like to see a source for that.
I’d love to see the Marionette make a return. Hands down, my favorite large-scale fight. If it comes to one of the new living story zones, I won’t be able to play it, due to excessive lag in those zones.
So, just curious. Does anyone else remember when the NPE first came out and Chris Whiteside said he was going to play through it with us to hear our feedback? There was a whole group of us.
Anyway. It’s been two months and two content patches since then. I’ve never heard another word about it, and I’m no longer interested, at this point.
I have serious concerns about the OP’s mental health, and I am not being snarky at all. Dude, you need to get help, and you need to stop playing GW2.
I have the impression it is the company’s policy to leave you in the dark, than deliver pre-known bad news. The answer was there before Halloween went live, but maybe you’d be distracted, maybe you’d just forget, who knows.
We now can tell it was “NO” all along.
Yeah. This whole thread is just depressing.
I voted for Evon.
You can also join a friend’s instance to replay S2 of living story with them, if you just want to see/experience it. You won’t get the rewards, but that may or may not matter. Welcome back!
ETA: Lanfear beat me to it! Ah, well. I’ll leave it here with the welcome, anyway.
