Not to mention if you keep buffing, buffing, buffing, you would eventually have to buff EVERY SINGLE mob in the game, creating a LOT more work in the long run. And you would end up with player characters having 10billion HP, just to be able to survive the INSANE dmg output that would be put out by others

coming from a player that watches almost every encounter get outnumbered in WvW, an idea came up where it would be helpful to have a few extra players. i feel like it would help if i could spend influence on a set number of guild “henchmen” (NPCs) to make a few encounters more fair. not super strong or mass numbers of them, but like the guild catas and guild golems, enough to make a stand against a massive enemy… ideally this would be helpful for servers that either have less population than others or less WvW participation. this probably has already been stated and addressed, but i’m sure it would help from one server completely dominating ALL the time.

Would just make it even worse, if you are always outnumbered there is a good chance the enemy have also even more influence to spend (due to being succesfull in more events) on even more mecrs then, so you may buy 10 mercs, they buy 20 instead

No, everyone would be using the same title then, because that would be the best title, unlike how now ppl use the title they like the most of or maybe fit best with their character. Yes Aion have titles and all you see there is everyone using the same 3-4 titles or so

wvw is not pvp, yes it has some pvp in it but it also has a lot of pve in it, the primary focus of wvw is taking and holding structures, not killing players. PK is just secondary.

And guess what, you take and hold structures, mainly by killing the ppl attacking/defending it, so yes it mostly pvp with some PvE thrown in (but hell even some of the sPvP maps have a little PvE thrown in as well so hardly much difference (like killing svanir in one of the maps to get a buff, or killing the enemy lord to get a massive point boost, on another map)

Yeah i agree, would make more sense to have it account bound, by being character bound you are kinda forced to play wvw on only 1 character. And i thought GW2 was supposed to be alt-friendly?

+1 this topic. Officer in a maxed guild since launch, Every week we have to expend more effort than we should into best-guessing the MIAs to clear room for applicants. This is basic guild interface functionality and should have taken priority over the ability to see crafting levels in the roster.

Even if it’s added as a tick-box toggle similar to the ‘Achievements’ option, at least add this information for us please.

As long as only people who have permissions can see the information I’m good with a toggle, or tick box. But I sincerely hope they never add this information without the guild leader having the option to turn it on or off, or to decide who can or can’t see it. It’s simply a font of unneeded drama.

Seriously? it is a feature in just about ANY other MMO out there on the market, and i never seen it cause ANY drama at all, so why would it do that in gw2?

If by normal, you mean any dropped torch then you re using 2 very generic terms that cover a wide range of torch skins, and a torch drop from a mob is very possible to have same skin even as one you can craft, and for from all crafted have the same skins

You can already do this in-game. But not like you think.

You min-max stats, not per armor piece, but on you character as a whole by equiping diff items with diff stat combo.

I remember try to make a full condi build with my thief and i came across a stat combo: Condi, Precision, Tough

It’s called RABID gear i think. I didn’t make a thorough search but i think you can get them for karma from uncontested temple vendors.

GIVER weapons give: Condi, Presicion, Vit.

Correct, if precision is useful. If precision is not desired then neither Rabid nor Giver work. The idea is not only to max condition dmg but also not to “waste” points on stats that are not useful – in this example power and precision. Note that Carrion also has condition as major, but it has power which is not desired. Having said this, I think the issue is specific to combos not containing power and precision and what is specifically missing is “condition dmg/toughness/vitality”. If that existed, you could use it as base and tweak with the 2 above and possibly Giver’s armour.

Im pretty sure all classes have a trait that will give “x% chance to give y condition on crit” (well for mesmer is is 100% chance for bleed but only when illusions crit). usually relatively low in a trait line too, so if you doing a full condition build precision would be needed

I have 2 of the classes that use a torch, both using the same skin (bandit/infiltrator).

The ranger torch has typical orange/yellowish light, the guardian torch has bluish/white light. Seems the light colour when using the torch is related to class torch skills and not the skin.

Pretty sure that not the case, at some point i used a normal torch on my mesmer, casting a standard yellowish/orangish light, then swapping to an asura torch on SAME mesmer, and in very same game session it was giving a more lightblueish light (whihc as i mentioned i found a lot better for the dark room in sharkmaw cavern. SO ahve you actually tried to use either the SAME (not just same skin, but well “physically” same) or at least to swap to a very different skin on the same character?

Yes in that yeah you can be in up to 4 guilds at once.
No as in you can only represent one guild at a time (but change who you represent as often as you like), and only the guild you represent you can see the guild chat of, gain influence for and basically do anything for

with a logitech G500 i have my dodge on tilting my mousewheel to the right, gives a very fast response time for that. Additionally i have heal the thumb button closest to myself, and elite for the other thumb button. That it for the mouse then my uttilities i have bound to QER, and got my profession skills on Alt+1/2/3/4

Then again if the arguement that all torches should be created equal for this, then you would have to argue that all classes should be able to use a torch, which they obviously cant.

As others said they seem to be same amount of lights which can make it easier/harder to see with some torches in some places. I found the asura skin torch works relaly good in the sharkmaw cave JP’s dark room

Ninja hit the nail pretty well there. Also in fact i do kinda like (though i dont particular LOVE it) the underwater somewhat, but it is simply not enough diversity, you have as many different underwater weapons as you have weaponslots, so not really a choice there you jsut equip them, and then hope the skills on one of the might suit your build, and if they don’t well bad luck.

As for breathers, not having an exotic version simply put means you have less stats underwater than above

You see, this is more like it I can get on board with a reason like the one here. I just hate it when people say the vast majority, when 99.9999999% of the people don’t even talk or associate with the vast majority.

I also agree that some professions Underwater skills seem to be lacking a bit, and I have a feeling by the time Bubbles is released they will have worked out everything about that. I mean if you look at the alternatives in the “Other MMO’s” this underwater combat is a godsend in my personal opinion.

I think the main problem about underwater skills is that noone really is thinking about what to do and what to combine to be effective. If you don’t have to use it, you clearly won’t think a lot about it.
As necromancer, underwater combat is pure fun. Switch weapons, use different skills than above water, etc – all cool stuff with a lot of variety to daily gameplay.

well Necromancer is one of the betters ones true, where you can in fact usually utilise both weapon set for most builds. take a mesmer on the other hand if youa re condition dmg built well then the spear useless really, only the trident any good then (maybe a bit too good but that is not the point here really). Now if you spec for power the trident get really weak, and only the spear any good which forces you into mobile melee even if you are used to above ground to be ranged. And a LOT of the classes have similar issues, mesmer is just the one i know best, as that one of my 2 mains, and the one i played most by far.

So simply put we need more underwater weapons, that specialises in different things so you can choose the ones that best fit your build (just like when you are on land)

now everyone can bs and spam hs … if bs misses or is evaded/blocked … ok, let’s try again, with the change only high ini regen can deal great damage (if they can) bs and spam hs… it will change the gameplay a lot (at least for BS thieves)

If the kind of bs’s ppl complain about are missed/evaded/blocked no they can not use again because those insane high dmg backstab rely on specific very offensive builds with little, likely no defense and ini regen, as well as using 2-3 utilities to get those high dmg number so those utilities would have to cd first

Well its not always good for other classes to pick them up (but might be sometimes really nice too. If you are a bit squishy ranged character, well the GS might put you at more risk than its worth for instance :P, but yeah if it usefull for you at the time pick it up really

the the ONLY way the skills are “Re-aranging” based on what you equip is that it doesn’t show the skill currently equipped in that particular slot, meaning each skill can MAX move between must be like 3 places TOTAL, it really is easy to find the right one. and a fraction of a second, you wont be out of combat for a fraction of a second only in 99.999999999% of cases, you will at least have a 5-10seconds and easily more if you want to, which is more than enough time to swap skills

Ritualists, as you suggest, would probably appear when they introduce Cantha, or so I’d think.
- New professions/classes will probably come with the other maps being introduced, since they are part of that maps particular lore (I’m looking forward to some of these too, especially the Dervish is one I am particularly interested in seeing again).

The engineer is one of the new professions introduced in Guild Wars 2, with inspirations from minions and the ritualist from the original Guild Wars mixed with completely new concepts. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Engineer), So not likely we see a direct copy of the ritualist i say :P

as for a thief waiting at a camp till you leave… you know you can at absolutely MAX get 15-20sec of stealth before you have no more out of combat stealth skill possibly available, and by then you will have NO defensive tools at your disposal as you traited into stealth and used all your utilities for it. So wait around for 20secs at the camp if no thief came up by the, well chance are he are really gone. Yes sure a good thief may be able to hide well for a LONG time, but that is by using both stealth in COMBINATION with other skills to get away from ppl, and is simply skill full play, so if that is the case, you simply for outplayed

I suppose they are “legal enough” to not be sued, but just barely. Which is a shame, since that would be really handy way of dealing with gold sellers, just sue them and get those sites off the google.

Im actually rather sure (while not being 100% though) that they could sue gold-sellers, the main problem though suing can cost a LOT of money, for each case, and chances are the gold sellers might just open a new company over and do it all again

this game is no where close to an fps… for the simple fast that you cant even view anything in first person whatsoever. Secondly. a fantasy mmofps would be more like TERA and a futuristic mmofps would be more like Planetside 2.

Why would you want click to move in the first place? the only thing i would suggest adding is a Move To Enemy feature in the options when you click on an enemy and you have a melee weapon.

did you read my WHOLE post? i said in terms of control, the viewpoint of the camera does not have anything to do with the control of your character

The problem with that is that race is integral to your personal story, and so a race change would require a re-write. It’s just too complicated.

I have a perverse tendency to find the race/profession combinations that seem the least appropriate, and then challenge myself to come up with a character who makes it work. Charr guardians were stated to be very unusual, but I love my fiercely protective feminist legionnaire :P

Factoring in roleplay, I think you should probably just think up some basic concepts and decide which you like better. Can you picture your asura necro, can you imagine how he/she would talk? What about the norn necro? Then go for whichever seems more interesting. And again I’d suggest factoring in armour appearances. Asura can be made to look super creepy, if you want, especially with the face paint necromancers get at creation, but then again if you wanted a more imposing rather than freaky necro norn might work better.

I like to hear you make up something for a sylvari engineer then that would imo be the MOST odd combination of any

yes any action including utility and healing and also condition removals, before it gets removed. but unless you got very high stack most healing skills will heal more than you take damage

as a general rule of thumb when it comes to finishers, physical projectile apply something (usually a condition) to its target (or targets if it is a pierce or bounce shot). leap finish apply something (usually a boon) to yourself. Blast is usually the same as leap but in aoe but slightly short duration to make balance it out. And last whirl shoots out projectiles in random directions that do stuff to whatever it hits of the appropriate target type (depending on field is either going for allies or enemies)

as for pve in fact if you are playing a mesmer (the one with easiest access to lots of confusion for sure) you have to remember that your illusions (clones and phatasms) DO NOT get any effect from con duration, where they do get the benefit of your con damage. so if you apply a lot of conditions from clones you want to go for dmg nor duration

on the other hand if it only proc of the mesmer, the 5% would happen a lot less than if you battle any other class, as you often be hitting clones when you would otherwise normally hit the player. So the real soluation would more be a shared cd between the real mesmer and its clones

AFAIK stack never been replacing other stack types so that seems to be working as intended. As for not stacking properly, there is a LOT of mobs in fractals that dont really count as “kills” (thus wont ever drop items too) usually those that spawn endlessly untill a certain objective is completed, and thus wont help you stack sigils too of any kind. This i assume is to prevent farming the same spot for drops/gold infinitely by not doing the objective

@Jettit 25 stacks is unsurprising given 50 people and that all stacks are maxed at 25. What is surprising that 5 man dungeon encounters result in 18 stacks. That looks flat out broken.

25 is not the max for defiant, saw a champion a few days ago with 60 stacks, but than we were a LOT and i mean a LOT of players there was right after the tequalt (spelling?) dragon had been killed in sparkfly fen

Sorry, I might have trouble understanding you, but last time I checked, changing armor wasn’t a requirement for changing traits.

you quote his part about stats and reply about changing triats? you know the MAJORITY of your stats come from the armor?, and you cant truely change a build either without changing BOTH stats and traits.

Yes something to show it would be nice. Kinda like the idea with actually changing the icons themselves in color, as long as it is done right, and look good thus, it would be awesome. Ofc giving colored outlines would be the far easier solution, but also imo more boring

no portal and ehmm well i was a thief but i cant really see anywhere in that particular JP you could even teleport over, simply no flat ground anywhere, at any point, so no i did nothing but run and jump (and interact with the chest ofc). I did also jump down at at the end, rather than using a WP to get out

is more that spam protection in general should be less strict, if you totally remove it just for commanders, what you gonna see will be a bunch of spam bots with commands tags sitting around in LA and others zones spamming non stop. if anyone can afford the commander title it is the bots
