84 is not any better, and also you dont see you state anywhere when and how many times you didn’t get a ring at all, which likely would break up quite a few of your pairs

Random means equal chance at each outcome.

That’s where I basically stopped reading.

For any non-infinite sample size random means random. Full stop. Every “pattern” you see is expectable. If they didn’t occur, it wouldn’t be random.

Posts like this show why Miku’s logic is so harmful. He stops reading my post after I give the proper definition of the word “random.”

This is just laughable:

“Every “pattern” you see is expectable."

By your very definition RNG literally cannot exist, as it it impossible for a computer to generate a truly and 100% random number
(heck even a cointoss or dice roll is actually truely random, granted they are very close but not truely random)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rIy0xY99a0

Edit: Not to mention that you got a EXTREMELY low sample size, now go get a 1000+ (and even then it is kinda low but begins to get acceptable) before you start talking about statistics

Fact 2: The GM trait that gives 50% crit chance when under Fury means in organized groups with permanent Fury and Banner of Discipline the Rev can get to 100% crit chance without going deeper than 2 into the Precision Line.

Wrong fact there, the trait does NOT give 50% crit chance for fury, it gives 50% MORE crit chance and since fury is standard 20%, that mean you get another 10%, ie fury will give 30% crit chance

the more and more i think about it, Sinister seems like it’s going to be the go to, simply because most of the chance on critical hit put a condition on the enemy

warrior currently have a trait that gives them 33% chance to apply bleed on crit. they do not use sinister.

you do know that that is not exactly warrior specific, EVERY SINGLE class have something very similar most is identical with a few exceptions (like mesmer get so that clones always apply bleed on crit (but the mesmer itself doesnt), necro got a 66% chance etc)), revenants seem to have SEVERAL of that kind of traits though at different spots so they can be used together

That sound very much like demanding an apology (since well if they dont you report them), but you are just not clear about it… which just makes it worse than straight up demanding it

And? Taking longer to do something isn’t all that bad, its a trade-off.

So what’s the trade off? I haven’t noticed condi builds to be superior to power or crit builds as a trade off for being completely ineffective against objects.

What are the condi builds getting in return?

And taking longer to destroy an object that sits there and does nothing in return, yes, that’s bad. I can’t think of an upside there. PvInertObject is about the dullest form of gameplay possible.

Come on, the Virtue of Justice only burns bad folk, we all know that. And poison/bleeding/freeze won’t affect a barrel.
So i think is right you need like an hour to kill a barrel.

So how come you can burn fish in the water, or make earth elementals bleed?

Why are people afraid that this will break in PvP when it will never get to 25 stacks much less above that?

well the only way would be to have epidemic necro’;s stack 25 bleeds , epidemic, then target next epidemic, eopidemic, epidemic, but interestingly enough I doubt anyone would live very long with 25 stacks, which is already easily obtainable, 50 would be insta kill: so above 50 is useless effort..

I really do not think it would break much, only S/S warrior wouldn’t overwrite it’s own stacks upon flurry… maybe achieving 30 stacks…for 2 seconds, maybe 4…

and IMHO it wouldnt’; break PvP but it would repair PvE, bigtime.

and just like when they did stab changes im sure they do something to epidemic so it wont be that insane, (like a cap to how many can actually be transfered, or maybe something more refined than that who knows)

People weren’t reviving for the reason of DPS races and stuff in PSO 2 JP and eventually people complained: both the English speaking players on it and the native Japanese.

Now reviving is encouraged as you get fun points to spend (40 per revival) everytime you revive someone with a revival item. That game however has just plain dead no downed or anything nice like GW 2 has. We can dodge however.

GW 2 needs to add something like karma or what the other member suggested: a new title track + effects for said titles.

I always revive people dead or downed, because I’m
not a kittening kitten!

You already get XP for ressing.

like 50 xp or something yeah… or 0.00000000000001% of a lvl/skillpoint(at lvl 80)

They haven’t said anything at all yet regarding future stress tests or even beta. But I’m pretty sure the next time players are able to play the game will consist of a real closed beta (with no NDA). They were able to stress test the demo already and it would seem weird to be like “hey we’re gonna do another stress test of the same area and same build again!” Since it’s just mainly for gathering data at peak activity intervals in a day. I’m sure they got enough data from the first one.

So look forward to Closed Beta!! =]

stress test usually mostly concern the backend (or server) so may not necessarily need a new client build to test new stuff there

As for runing in back in well the vinewall goes back up after a while blocking the path so i guess if you die early enough you might have time to run back in but if you any decent player you should be able to survive long enough at least to be blocked by the vines if you die

They should hide the message entirely and replace it with a warning that states the message was sent by a player. The message should then show a checkbox stating that if you fall for it, you agree to waive your right to an appeal. It should then end with a captcha and an accept button, which will then reveal the original message.

The problem with that is, that you annoy most of the players who just want to read
their mails to hell with that stuff, just because you want to reach a very view people
who you mostly never will reach no matter what you do.

Theif specialization?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: GummiBear.2756

GummiBear.2756

The problem I have with the rifle idea is zerker theifs like me are gonna get the “ranger LB mash2 to win” treatment. Nobody really complains about theifs any more and if we get a rifle, you know will figure out a way to crit at long range, then people will get mad, theif will get a nerf and so forth…I’d rather take a great sword and avoid this now…

How is a zerker greatsword any less rage inducing than a zerker rifle? People complain about thief all the time, and the anti zerker brigade will complain about any zerker weapon. It won’t matter one bit what weapon we get, someone will find something to complain about.

I’m not saying I don’t want a greatsword, I would actually prefer it over rifle, I just don’t think people’s complaints about zerker gear is reason enough to not have rifle.

Think about it….ones Melee and up close, the other is range. If the theif is given the ability to crit the same way their backstab does in stealth for example, you just gave a highly maneuverable class the opportunity to down another class at a long range without ever being touched.
If you were walking around in WvW and saw a theif in the distance go stealth and suddenly you’re downed, would you get mad? You had no chance to defend yourself like you could if they were going for a backstab.

and whos to say the rifle stealth skill is anything like daggers stealth skill? we already have a sword that dazes from behind, or blinds from frontal attack, shortbow just put immobilise on, pistol is a multiple shots skill that bleed so you can dodge the upcoming ones if you are fast, so yeah i see no reason the rifle stealth skill will be anything like a ranged backstab. heck maybe we will loose all stealth skills on weapons when we are specialised as they did say specialisations changes the mechanics of the classes too

GummiBear.2756

If this change was to be game wide, I would like to go with full condie specs into arah p3. The very first boss transfers all of his condition to everyone around him. 100+ bleeds stack will just melt everyone before they even have a chance to react. Gonna be fun.

(now i havent actually played arah myself yet, so basing it entirely on the assumption you telling the whole truth)
well that is okay, as that would be a fight where conditions would still be a bad idea, but because of a specific mechanic, NOT because of a stupid technical reason that basically makes but one maybe 2 players deal full dmg from their condi, and i assume there is some sort of animation from the boss taht tells when it happen so you have someone put the new resistance boon on everyone just before he transfers them, and then you have time to clean them as they wouldn’t do anything for the first few seconds. ie it could still be done it would just require some extra teamwork

Increased Bleeding Stacks

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

GummiBear.2756

Why in the world are people afraid it’ll break PVP? Full stacks of bleed can be washed off like its nothing, let alone the incoming Resistance Boon. Not to mention, I don’t know anyone who can “easily” stack 25 bleeds in a realistic pvp setting alone. So essentially this will just make it so people can play together. If you get that many stacks from being ganged up on, it’s fine to die… Power players would have had you killed seconds sooner.

100 stacks of bleed will kill you before you can cleanse them on many classes. 1 tick and you’d be dead on an Ele, Thief, or Guardian even, it’s about 13000 damage a tick at that big of a stack with a good amount of condi damage.

And the equivalent amount of focus from non-condition builds wouldn’t kill you before you can cleanse an immobilize? The highest bleed skill in the game is Flurry (warrior sword burst) with 12 bleeds. To hit 100 bleed stacks, you have to have 8 Warriors simultaneously bursting you at a minimum (including the bleed on crit trait).

I’m sorry, but if you eat 8 burst skills simultaneously, you should die stupidly fast. It doesn’t matter what those skills are.

read my edit. This is the situation that concerns me. It’s epidemic when used on a legendary or champion keep lord while the other side is trying to defend it. It’s impossible for 1 person to stack 100 bleeds, it’d be very easy for 40 people to stack 100 bleeds, they’d be able to do it in just a few seconds, and then the epidemics start one shotting people.

So epidemic is the problem? well why should all condi builds be hampered to not allow full effect because of ONE skill? quite simple if a target has well lets say more than the 25 of a condition, it only copy 25 stacks, nice and easily fixed (there will OBVIOUSLY be tweaks to some condi skills and specially condi-using skills, just like there were changes to stab skills when they introduced the new stab mechanic

Because not all professions have equal access to condition clears.

Power can be mitigated with active combat and toughness/vit. Condis cannot.

As a thought exercise, allow toughness to blunt condition damage in WvW if this goes live, and then it could make for an interesting new meta.

skills that apply condis can be dodged blocked as well so active combat makes you able to avoid getting condis on you, and well toughness is the main of those 2 stats to counter power, where vit is the main counter to condis, since more life, means you need longer time to get killed by the same condis, and on top of that you get condi removals, as well as the new resistance boon that negate all condi dmg for its duration, giving you time to clear the condis, so the counters are about equal to condis and power dmg

Unfortunately it looks like burning, chill, and poison might still be stuck at 1 stack.

chill and poison are needed to stack in duration not in intensity – why burning doesnt stack in intensity isn’t obvious to me :/

yeah and intensity poison would be very bad tbh, as you would quickly hit the point where you get over 100% decreased healing ie healing would not work at all.

For burning well from what i understand of burning it supposed to be better than a few stack of bleeding, but can you stack high bleeding it will rule the burning, but ofc it creates the issue that burning from more than 1 person would be pointless, so my suggestion would be to allow 1 stack of burning per person, if the same person apply more burnings it would then stack that in duration. Allowed intensity stacked burning from same person would basically make burning a must more potent bleeding

You guys honestly think that 61 stacks of bleed is survivable?

NOONE will ever be able to reach 61 stack alone, extremely good full condi builds 2 ppl MIGHT be able to with certain classes but most condi build are lying around 20-25 or so stack alone only, so basically your question would be the same as asking if you think anyone can survive being hit by a big burst attack of 2-3 players at the same time? ofc not, you are not supposed to

Don’t expect to see that outside of boss encounters.

Stacking conditions in GW2 is far more complex than how most other MMOs handle it. Simply put, a stack of 100 bleeds is like 100 different debuffs in other MMOs. A zerg’s worth of conditions on a zerg would be expensive to process, though it is possible. Unless they reworked how conditions work or improved the back-end, I’m guessing it’s optimized for specialty targets only.

well they did make an overall change to condition dmg lately where if you had say 4½ second of bleeding duration, you would take half a tick’s dmg when you condition run out, this might be part of optimising conditions so we can finally get some love for condi builds

With 5 Revenants and his ‘banish enchantment’ skill, we were able to deal more than 100 stacks of confusion, but after 99 it just appeared an exclamation mark.

This kinda makes me more hopefull the fact that when it gets to a certain amount (99 if what you say is correct) that this is not a bug, as if it were it would likely either give like some kind of weird capsed error code thing or simply have the numbers keep going up to the absurd to the point where you had numbers go WAY beyond the borders of condition icon itself making a mess on the bar, but instead they are like lets put a simply ! for telling this guy have a very high number of conditions on him (and really if you ahve 100+ stack of a condi on a person well it most likely a world boss or champion at (or wvw zerg vs zerg) where frankly the amount is so high that you dont really have any use of knowing the exact number anymore

Torch, sword and focus can all three considered defensive, so another defensive offhand seems redundant…

And GS would normally be considered a melee, weapon, but not for mesmer, so who to say we cant get an offensive shield then too? (in fact the skill seen used wit the shield mesmer in the trailer looks more offensive than defensive to me)

But at the end of the day, people tend to forget: they said specializing will give you new weapons and you will loose access to old ones. I can see the point of “I want 5 new skills” of course I do, new and shiny stuff is always awesome, but just because a class only gets 2 new weaponskills, doesn’t mean she is worse or better off then any other class, she just only looses and offhand weapon and gains an offhand weapon, simple as that

GummiBear.2756

That’s far from impossible because the big MMO does exactly that with its “Scenarios.” (Story-driven dungeons.) And it got its first one on the exact same day that GW2 released so it’s not like it’s a new thing in MMOs. Anyway in some those instance you will find that carrying a tank or a healer gives you faster runs because the healing or defense allows the group to ignore some otherwise dangerous mechanics that would otherwise distract the DPS players from the boss.

So in that particular one a healer and tank is required for an optimal run

And of course some other instances are faster to clear with just DPS. But any group composition can clear one.

And in those ones a full party of only DPS is required for an optimal run

So anyway the proof of concept for group content that support various group compositions is already there (or at least it’s there for small-scale groups) and it would be perfect for GW2’s “play whatever you want” approach to PvE because it does not always glorify the same role/builds.

But that would require everyone to carry different sets of ascended gears to be able to do all the content optimally, and well we all knows how much a pain it can be to just get one set of ascended gear

Character Slot for Heart of Thorns? [Merged]

I’d bet heavily on getting a character slot with the expansion.

Their generosity – eg. not having a subscription AND not having a stinky pay-to-win cash shop – has played a significant role in ArenaNet’s success. Why would they start being stingy now?

The only potential problem could be players who already have the max number of slots. They might need to alter a few database tables to accommodate them.

Shouldn’t be too hard to change, just up the number of possible slots on any account by 1, and then give everyone a slot, should be fairly easy to do

BIG IF:Rev Utilities are locked to channel

I’ll make this point again.

As said in previous POI livestreams, NONE OF THIS IS OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED.

That’s a bit rude dearie.

I didn’t say anything that was unconfirmed. Utilities don’t have cooldowns. There’s only one with a 5 second cooldown which is freakishly short by utility standards. They use a shared energy resource.

All of this is confirmed. Taken from in-game screenshots.

The only thing that’s unclear is whether Revenants have any choice in the specific utilities they can equip for each legend or if each legend only has 1 healing, 3 utilities and 1 elite total.

Nothing I said hinges on that. The point I was making that even if there is no choice in legend utilities revenants still easily have the most flexibility and freedom of any profession when it comes to utilities.

So all this complaining about revenants being too restricted and such is completely bonkers.

What you are describing yes is freedom when using skills in combat, but it is still very limited freedom in how to build your character, we already on current classes have certain weapons etc that are very very bad to the point of being useless, this will be an issue EVEN more on revenant since you might be lacking crucial “abbilites” for battle (like stun breaks or condition removal etc) if using certain weapons and/or legends, if they do now allow changing of the utilities

How works taunt on ranged players

My question is what if your “Auto attack” is set to a skill other than skill #1… will taunt make the player only use sill #1 or will it actually make them use what skill is set as auto attack. And what if an auto attack skill is not set?

I think by auto attack they mean weapon skill 1, otherwise what happens to those that have no skill set to auto attack?

I agree, though what about in the few case where the Weapon #1 is a AoE ground targeted skill, like engi grenade kit?
