So, you basically want to create a guild, where you’re all known as being kittens for stealing other peoples hard work? Good luck with that.

Anyone who thought this would be easy or a short method was kidding themselves.
I’m pretty sure none of us thought that precursor crafting was easy or short.
You are missing the points that players are making in this thread. No I understand the point completely. It’s stupid expensive to TP the materials directly.
You weren’t expected to do this. It was supposed to be a method that would let you make tangible progress through general play.
The only problem that really exists is the need for otherwise time-gated materials.
TP cost only matters if you are looking to buy the mats instead of gathering them. One only does this to speed up the crafting process.
Still not comparable in the least, when one method costs 1.2k gold and is faster, and the other costs 2k gold and requires you to scavenge around looking for random crap too, there’s something not right.
If anything the precursor collection should cost LESS because you’re also putting in the effort to scavenge and hunt for things as well as wait on time gated materials.
The bifrost precursor has it right, it’s costing on average about 100-150g less to do it from the collection.
They’re just not comparable at all, The Legend is currently costing roughly 550-600g to craft via the collection system, where-as other 2handed weapons are costing around 2k to craft, a whopping 800-900g more than they’re selling for on the TP.

Now that dungeons have been nerfed and we have a slew of new content to trudge through, is silverwastes still top dog when it comes to gold income per hour?

A lot of events required for them are bugged too, either not spawning or not giving out the correct item required.

I’m new to necro, so i have no idea how well this will function or work, it looks good on paper though, this is what I’ll be running with.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I’m looking for something a bit different in HoT, and as such I’ll be running with a condi based build alongside the power based one for PvE content, when it comes to equipment and legends, it’s pretty much a no brainer for the main set.
Mace/whatever & hammer or whatever.
Legends would be glint & either Mallyx or Shiro, depending on whether or not the quickness from shiro outshines the torment stacking that Mallyx can push out.
However when it comes to the actual gear stats, the sigils & runes.. i honestly have no idea what would be considered the best. Originally i was thinking sinister, but the power scaling on the mace is so poor it really just feels like a waste, granted it would help out for when you need to pull out the hammer.
Any ideas?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Not really, the power scaling on the mace is pretty bad, i was trying it in BWE3 with Berserker amulet in spvp and it was only hitting for about 800 (crits) on the direct damage.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
It’s pretty obvious, no?
Staff for Melee, Hammer for when you absolutely must use range.
I always need a ranged weapon on a weapon swap because you never know when a mistake might occur that’ll force you to play more defensively, and that’s done better with a ranged weapon.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I’d argue that the revenant has more useful utilities than any other class outside of pvp and WvW
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I’m personally leaning towards something like this for dungeons & fractals (if dungeons are still worth the time/money after HoT launches)
80% crit chance, with the additional crit thrown in from a warriors banner (as i’m normally always grouped with one) works well for me i think.
And the following for PvE content
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vlAQJApnnvN2gS6JvQRZlbosryPUYV5IKYs8ElFUlhNpmiKNgDSwO92nH-TxhAABLt/A0nAgE1Dcq6PSqEEgHAgYK/AA-e
Swapping out the second weapon for either a Staff or Hammer, depending on the encounter, even though pretty much every other weapon bar Mace will suck in this build.

Pretty much, the optimal zerker build won’t be using full set of berserker gear, because there’s not really any need to in a group setting, so i was wondering what other gear piece players were gravitating more towards, i can’t decide if Vitality or Toughness is more important.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Given that the Revenant gains a large amount of crit chance from the Roiling Mists trait, and being able to keep up 100% fury, the “slot everything with berserker” mentality is wasted, because you simply do not need that much crit chance, especially in a group setting.
So what gear pieces should be slotted to make up for it? Valkyrie and Cavalier?

Was having a think about more gamemodes gw2 could do with, and i was thinking about King of the Hill, now ultimately in a game like gw2, this wouldn’t really work without one team completely destroying the other, so i tried to twist it a bit and ultimately, what i came up with was this:
Both team starts with a score of 0, to win, the score needs to be 500.
To gain points, each player individually gains a set number of points every 5 or 10 seconds that they remain on the point (the hill).
For example, if a warrior was standing on the point for 5 seconds, he would gain +5 for his team. If he were to move off the point at 4 seconds, he would gain no points and the timer would reset.
The points are based on the individual player, not the team, but the points add up consecutively to the teams score.
What happens if both teams are on the point? Both teams players (that are standing upon the hill) will gain points as mentioned above.
The numbers could be tweaked of course, so that the games aren’t over in a few seconds, powerups could be placed around the map that prevent the opposing team from gaining points, etc, kills will not grant points, but rather take them away from the enemy team, again, numbers can be tweaked.
The other idea i had, was a simple King of the Hill with the standard KoTH ruleset, where the only difference is that the capture point randomly changes position, with 5 positions on a map that it could be, making teams that pre-emptively attempt to capture the point as soon as it changes position, less effective.

I don’t see why the racials wouldn’t work on Revenant if they just retained the Cooldowns, i think it’d be alright surely? The vast majority of the Elites & Utilities are all now widely useful and pretty kitten decent and worth using.
I mean if you swap EtD or Shiro’s Stun for an elite on a 180 second cooldown, I’d say you’re gimping yourself quite a bit, no? Would be nice to at least have the option.

Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Burns are tremendously strong, but I’m surprised you didn’t mention Engineer, a burn Engineer is arguably stronger than a Guardian because they throw on an absolute crap ton of condi’s, giving less chance for the burns to actually be cleansed.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Looked completely fine to me.
Look at the players he’s fighting, bunch of idiots auto attacking and backpeddling, even spotted a thief literally just spam #3 with 2 pistols.
One guy was keyboard turning around and took him forever.
Yeah, if a veteran, experienced player goes up against 4 players with a combined AP of 20, they’re gonna make the Revenant look strong.
Fact is, this same situation could’ve been pulled off with a thief, a mesmer, an engineer. And guess what, it has been.
Nearly everyone in the video who was targetted had CoF skins, now, i don’t know about you, but when i see a CoF skin, it says something. To me it says “New player.”

The road is bad, it was in a really good spot the first time we had it so i don’t know why it was changed. It wasn’t overpowered, it was balanced, now it’s just kitten and next to useless in PvP unless you can predict you’re going to need stability in the next 3-4 seconds.

Swap Glint for Mallyx in WvW roaming, Glint’s pretty cack for that, use her to build up some boons but switch to Mallyx before the fight begins if you know you’re going up against a condi user.

I have to agree, I’m stumped on this too.
I posted a thread a while back and after a while eventually settled on Sylvari, but the sword animations on every single race but the Charr look absolutely hideous, and then there’s the problem that Charr has with most armor sets looking god-awful on them.
The animation is actually so bad I genuinely want it re-worked, it just looks stupid and doesn’t appear aesthetically pleasing at all, I wonder if there’s actually anyone out there that likes the swords auto attack animation on any of the races that aren’t a Charr…
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Herald, Chronomancer and Reaper are all incredibly(OP) strong. With Scrapper slightly below.
Druid is strong, but I wont judge it just yet.
Daredevil and Berserker are okeyish.
Tempest and Dragonhunter are meh.
How is it ok for some specs to effortlessly gain 25 stacks of might on their own (Scrapper, Reaper, with Herald sitting at 15…), but it’s somehow wrong for eles to gain from 8 to 15?
Some of these specs are just flat out(shameless) upgrades (Chronomancer anyone?).
The problem (and concern) wasn’t with Ele’s being able to solo stack 25 might, they’ve arguably been able to do that since the games launch, the problem was how well the survivability was combo’ing with the damage increase on the already insane damage the burns were doing.
I have a feeling Scrapper is going to be a build reminiscent of the Cele meta, where Shoutbows roamed supreme.

It uses an insanely powerful defensive utility in place of guaranteeing a stomp, it’s fine in my opinion, you give up the defensive cabailities of the skill in order to get a stomp.

Knowing that any any minute a thief can stomp me and i have absolutely zero ways of countering/fighting against it, really infuriates me.
If the guy is skilled enough to pull this off (and yes it does take skill and timing) than he would have been skilled enough to stomp you anyway.
Not true.
Certain classes downstates can buy them precious time, the elite locks them out of being able to do anything.

What is it with the GW2 Community being so edgy all the time, it’s like you people have forgotten what the word ‘fun’ means, everythings taken so seriously on these forums.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I really don’t understand how you people can think that Condi Mesmer is justified in it’s current iteration.. Is it because you all main Mesmers or something?
It’s nothing to do with the opponent not having enough Condi cleanse either, a Mesmer can destroy a Signet necro running as much condition transfer as possible due to a combination of misdirection, blocks, blinds, stealths, distortions and the evades, all while keeping up the pressure.
I have yet to see a good condi mesmer because it’s honestly hard to tell if the person playing it is indeed good, because (and i’ve done this myself) you can literally just spawn 3 clones, and go f2f1f3f4 and It’ll kill most players..

I’ve had it happen to me quite a few times now actually, where i’m dead almost as soon as the invuln frames pop from being downed, it’s insane, definitely takes skill and timing to pull off, but at the same time it feels incredibly cheap because it pretty much removes the downed state component of the game.

In Dungeons generally
Zerk is Meta…
Healers are well…, not needed
Conditions are mostly useless.
Support is very welcome
CC is mostly harmless, but occasionally very usefullAren’t condition guardians, engineers, and rangers all the meta builds for them?
That’s PvP, not PvE.
For “oldschool” content, berserker stats are still going to be the clear go-to stat set.
For HoT content, that remains to be seen.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
My only complaint is with the Mallyx elite, it really needs the condition copying back.
I don’t really understand that Revenant doesn’t apply conditions to him/herself anymore as a factor. Necromancers only apply conditions to themselves with corruptions (Which are pretty crap mind you in pvp), yet they run tons of condi transfer.
Why can’t Mallyx’s elite be the same?

PU was not nerfed enough. Needs to go back to +1 sec. If it remains 50% protection needs to be removed from the boons applied
lol, clearly a clueless mesmer hating thief. Fortunately someone already did the work so I can just point at this.
Looking at individual stealth skills +50% stealth time isn’t a great improvement over what it was previously of +1 sec.
Veil
Veil untraited = 2 sec
Veil + old PU (+1 sec) = 3 sec
Veil + current PU (100%) = 4 sec
Veil +Proposed PU (50%) = 3 sec
Note the proposed change would now be the same as the old PU trait.
Decoy (and Prestige)
Decoy untraited = 3 sec
Decoy + old PU (+1 sec) = 4 sec
Decoy + current PU (100%) = 6 sec
Decoy +Proposed PU (50%) = 4.5 sec
Note only 0.5 sec difference between current and old PU. Same as with Prestige on torch.
Mass invis (MI)
MI untraited = 5 sec
MI+ old PU (+1 sec) = 6 sec
MI + current PU (100%) = 10 sec
MI +Proposed PU (50%) = 7.5 sec
Proposed PU is 1.5 sec longer than the old PU. Obviously MI has the highest increase over old PU because it has the longest stealth.
So overall for everything but Mass invis, the proposed PU of 50% is effectively the same as the old PU.
Personally I think the devs thought we have the current pledge trait and with the upcoming addition of alacrity with Chrono we can still keep fairly high stealth frequency if we want to build for it. But overall stealth duration will decrease.
I actually like the +100% PU, but I never traited it much with the pledge trait (stealth reduction), which seems to be the main problem for keeping high stealth uptime at the moment. If I had to choose, I would rather keep 100% PU than I would the stealth reduction component from the pledge trait.
But yeah, 0.5s more stealth than old PU (1s total on whole build), too stronk, must nerf moar.
You also failed to factor in that before the buff, PU gave you one boon per stealth, period, now you get boons every second you’re stealthed, and they’re not crap boons either.
There’s also the fact that mesmers are now able to kitten out condi cleanses on a bunker build capable of destroying someone due to the sheer amount of condi pressure it puts out, literally having next to no counter.
They can even overwhelm a signet necro with the amount of conditions they put out, and if you aren’t capable of doing that, then you’re a below average mesmer.
Right now mesmer has too much of everything and it needs toning down.
