From what i gathered from the POI, Burst mastery was mentioned, but then you went on to describe burst precision, so i’m assuming you got the two mixed up.
I’m assuming, that with burst mastery slotted, if i use an F1 skill during the berserker rage, it’ll effectively consume no adrenaline as it’ll immediately grant it all back?

The difference between Enchanted Daggers and the Warriors Berserker Heal is this.
See a warrior pop his berserker heal? Stun him.
See a Revenant pop Enchanted Daggers? Stun him. He’ll still have the daggers once the stuns over.

Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
So what is the point of this for those of us that do not do dungeons?
You don’t want to do the content, you don’t reap the benefits..
Seriously, why do people feel entitled to rewards for content they do NOT do?
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I’m not overly fond of WvWvW, does that mean Anet should stop creating content for it? No.
If you don’t like hard content, you don’t need to do it.
There needs to be content to please everyone, and as it is at the moment, guild wars 2 is seriously lacking in the challenge department.
All I’m arguing is that lower skilled players should have the same options.
No, they shouldn’t.
Why should someone get the same rewards as someone who put in the effort, just for doing an easier form of said content? You reward those who are willing to put in the effort and time to complete said hard content, you don’t reward the lesser skilled just for attempting. “Oh well, you tried, here, have a participation reward.”
If you want the rewards for hard content, you better yourself until you’re able to complete the hard content, if you don’t want to do that, you acknowledge that you’ll never get those rewards. There needs to be in-game items that cannot be bought yet flaunt someones accomplishments, legendaries don’t even do that, they can be bought so long as your wallet is deep enough, they never should’ve been tradeable to begin with.
You also don’t throw in an “easy mode” for those unwilling to better themselves.
Guild wars 2 has a lot of insanely easy content, and it will most definitely have more easy content in the future, it has next to no hard content at all, fractals are relatively easy, with the exception of some 50 fractals, most of them can literally be stacked with the right group, that’s not challenging, i see challenging as the wyvern fight that was showcased in HoT, you have to be on your toes or you will die.
Edit: haha accidentally uploaded a picture of my kittenatiel by mistake.

Hi dissapoint, i am dad.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
You just listed all those traits and utilities that will require the Revenant to be focused in applying his stacks of might, it won’t be a warrior literally just pushing 2 and providing 25 stacks of might to the group, so I’m not entirely sure where the problem is on this one.
This is from someone who mains a phalanx warrior.
Also a revenant wouldn’t be capable of providing arguably one of the strongest utilities in game, warbanner.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
All it takes a warrior is a single 100 blades and the group is sitting at 20-25 might stacks permanently as the might doesn’t run out before the next 100b is up.
I don’t think you guys understand how overpowered forceful greatsword with phalanx strength is, especially with a warrior wearing runes of strength.
You’re comparing a warrior with Strength Runes, and a Strength Sigil, who is forced into 2 specific trait lines, locked into 1 GM trait and 1 Master trait, and forced to use a single weapon basically full time (and usually forced to pick up the might on crit food to keep up 25 stacks) vs. a single Master trait that will allow you to use any weapon you want and also applies might to yourself, in addition to your teammates.
Just using STR runes and channeling Impossible Odds will get you up to 8 might stacks AoE (including yourself) in addition to whatever might you’re applying to yourself already. That isn’t bad at all for a master tier trait.
Opposed to the Revenant being forced to camp in Glint and manage with either 0 or 1 energy upkeep, potentially forcing them to auto attack and nothing else.
Also don’t forget that the Revenant would need to wear and utilize strength runes and sigils as well.
I wouldn’t say warriors are forced into two trait lines either, more so, just two traits, as the two trait lines are taken by non-phalanx warriors anyway as they provide the highest amount of damage modifiers.

Hey, i posted this in another thread and ultimately decided to stick it in a thread of it’s own so i can more reliably get feedback on it.
This is what I’ll be running with Glint as the second Legend and the following traits from the Herald Line: (image of traits for reference: http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/gw2-revenant-herald-traits1.jpg)
Radiant Revival in Fractals, Hardening Persistance everywhere else.
Shared Empowerment.
Elders Force, this ones very nice, so long as i camp glint, this’ll be a flat 4% bonus damage modifier at least, throw in boons from other group members, and this’ll ramp up quite fast.
Feels like a pretty solid build to me. With fury now granting 40% crit chance for us with the grand master trait, 57% crit chance feels like a good place to stop, considering warrior banner gives a chunk too, and I’ll most likely always be with a warrior.

You already have a auto run button that and wsad is all you need to keep up with fellow players while you use your mouse to manage inventory
I can’t use the autorun and mouse to steer when I am talking on chat. Follow button is still useful.
Of course you can, just type when you’re numlocked on a long stretch of straight road.
That, or type a little, steer with mouse, type a little, steer, repeat. I do it all the time just fine.
Also i don’t think someone with the quote “Ask if ANet cares about their game, silence + removing your post is their answer.” in their signature can really ask for features like this to be added, it just seems.. wrong.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
The ability itself states it inverts ALL incoming damage.
Whether it’s affected by resistance, that remains to be seen, I assume though (and i hope) that resistance takes affect after this ability, so the incoming conditions will heal you while it’s active still, but once the abilities worn out, resistance will start to take effect again, otherwise you can seriously kitten yourself and actually have said abilities effectiveness completely ruined by another Revenant.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Decap Engineer was a bunker with killing potential due to the sheer amount of CC and boons ontop of the damage via turrets being actually somewhat high.
A revenant spamming UA is sacrificing his Energy to merely keep you off a point, his ranged combat isn’t the best, meaning you can just pester him until he’s forced to start utilizing energy for defence, or forced to engage you close up.
It looks like a problem on paper, but it really isn’t, even with it currently ignoring stability.
(I disagree with people stating it doesn’t cover an entire point, it was covering entire points for me when i was using it.)
Dump a load of condi’s on a revenant, he’s forced to pop Pain Absorption (35 energy) which is one less UA and also pushed them into going on the defensive.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I was stacking 25 might on the reaper in the BWE without even being aware of it, i wasn’t sure what i was doing, I’d just occasionally look down and see that i had 25 stacks.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
On topic though, i personally don’t see a reason to run Shiro as a legend, the traits are nice, but the legend is just outshined in pve DPS by glint now Imo.
(Snip)
Currently, if it remains unchanged, the Revenant will be able to keep up permanent might and fury on the party, while still maintaining a positive energy regen, granted it’s only 1 regen instead of the 5, but it’s still regen.
Kind of glad I’m not the only one (though I don’t generally worry about what others think). I could see Shiro stance being great for pvp, but for PvE, outside of the quickness (which is a great thing mind you) I don’t see it adding much.
What do you think about gear setup with that plan? I’m thinking Valkyrie with Berserker trinkets. Lots of potential choices for runes.
I was planning to go with Berserker Armor with Strength runes, alongside Valkyrie trinkets, as that’s what i already have.
Berserker weapons, sword/shield (or sword/sword) and Hammer/staff, depending on whether or not I’ll need ranged.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Depending on how much damage the Sword auto attack is capable of doing with modifiers from traits and group support, i feel this might be a tad bit too strong and could warrant having maybe a -6 or -7 upkeep instead.
Theoretically, with just a warrior in group you have the potential to have 25 stacks of might permanently with near 100% upkeep on fury for the whole group (definitely 100% fury upkeep for the Revenant dependant on traits).
On top of all the other boons the other party members are throwing out, as well as the permanent protection from the Revenant.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I have a feeling that I’m right in what I’m assuming.
With facet of Chaos having an upkeep of -5, does this mean that if i pop this at 100 energy, my energy will remain at 100 providing i use nothing else that costs energy, and upon using something that does cost energy, due to the -5 energy upkeep of FoC, my energy will not degrade or increase?
So, this basically means 100% protection uptime providing the Revenant restricts himself to auto attack damage (which, with the sword, seems to be the way to go now anyway)
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I have a feeling it will work with Condition damage, the tooltip says it works with ALL incoming damage, and doesn’t warriors defiant stance work with conditions? I know Guardians meditation heal, heals them based on outgoing condi damage, as i’ve fully healed myself with that ability from casting it at about 10% hp and throwing out a ton of burns.
On topic though, i personally don’t see a reason to run Shiro as a legend, the traits are nice, but the legend is just outshined in pve DPS by glint now Imo. I’ll probably be running Glint/Ventari (or Jalis) as I primarily do Dungeons and Fractals (and the future ‘challenging content’ whatever that may be.) So projectile destruction, party support via boon spam and 50% damage reduction in those clutch moments will be nice on top of all the damage modifying traits.
Currently, if it remains unchanged, the Revenant will be able to keep up permanent might and fury on the party, while still maintaining a positive energy regen, granted it’s only 1 regen instead of the 5, but it’s still regen.
If the revenant restricts himself to spamming auto attacks, he can keep up permanent protection as well, providing this is the only facet running.

It’s still not as strong as decap engineer if you ask me.
Decap engineer was a bunker that still had the damage to actually kill something, a Revenant doesn’t have nearly as many active or passive defence, on top of barely any passive going out, especially if he’s spamming UA.
A revenant spamming UA is also a revenant that’ll have no energy for defencive abilities or energy to pressure someone down.
I don’t really see it as a problem, as every single meta build running in spvp right now has at least some form of ranged weapon equipped, the only build i can think of that doesn’t is the mace/shield & gs warrior.
Tl;DR if a revenant is spamming UA, he isn’t going to be doing much damage, so just equip a ranged weapon and smash his (or her) face in and force him to use his energy on defensive abilities instead.

We’ll be seeing a clusterkitten of purple stars in mini-map.
Doubt it because it requires the mastery track to be active, and most people aren’t going to be running a mastery track designed towards helping other players, they’re going to want the selfish ones.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
A good chunk of us have no intention of playing a Revenant and don’t care.
I have no interest or intention in playing an Engineer, Warrior, Thief or Ranger.
Does that mean I’m allowed to say that Anet should stop focusing on these classes and show me the classes i do want to play?
Tl;dr – Anet aren’t showing me what I want to see, how dare they!
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I was initially going to be rolling a Norn revenant as it’s the one race i haven’t got, but then the males just make grunts like they’re constipated, have really deformed necks and the females are just unappealing to me.
Next i looked at Sylvari, seemed pretty cool, messed around with a makeover kit and had a pretty beastly appearance going.
Then the BWE came and i tried out a Charr, i fell in love with the animations, now I’m seriously thinking about making my Revenant a charr, how about you?

For those who saying F2P communities are bad:
COD B2P <— new words made to trash talk each other
CS:GO B2P <— hackers buy the game over and over again
WoW P2P <— had a kinda good community, but old players just looked down on new onesHearthstone <— F2P, immense playerbase from the start.
CoD B2P – Can communicate with the players easily.
CS:GO B2P – Can communicate with the players easily.
WoW P2P – Can communicate with the players easily.
Hearthstone F2P – Yeah not so much.
You’ve also just compared the community of first person shooters and an MMO to a Card game.

GW2 is arguably panned as the most friendliest mmo community going.
Making the games PvP F2P would completely destroy that.
people crying about how f2p would bring in immature scrubs
people saying that cs isn’t f2p eitherso… the obvious result…
make a pvp only version of the game and sell it for 5-10$, even if it’s with the new elite specs and revenant.
Or instead of being restricted to one game mode for a cost of 5-10 dollars, they can just wait for the base game to go on sale (because it frequently does) and pick up the entire package for that same price you suggested.

Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Normally I wouldn’t care because this PvE is already plagued to the core by the bum rush zerker lolmeta, but we’re supposed to get hard group content so it’s time to make the balance at least remotely fair in PvE too.
You’re judging it when:
1. You don’t know the cooldown of said ability.
2. You don’t know how easy the defiance bar is to break.
3. You have no idea what this challenging group content is going to be, therefore you have no idea how viable revenant shield will be in said content.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I don’t think it’s needed to be honest, boons should be short term buffs in my eyes, not things that are stacked up to obscene lengths, especially as there’s only one class that can reliably boon strip, with another soon to be joining the game, that’s only 2 classes out of 9 that can deal with boon spam.
Especially as most boon spamming builds currently out there are being fed boons with little to no effort involved. (DD C’Ele i’m looking at you)
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA

Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
I would like an early access revenant so i can get him to 80, geared, and story done ready to get him straight into HoT.
As it stands, if i want to main a Revenant, I’ll have to do the entire Living season 2 story just to get access to silverwastes and dry top, which I imagine will be a requirement to gain access to the maguuma jungle, putting me at a disadvantage to those who aren’t going to be playing a Revenant at release.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Traveler runes, problem solved.
Being serious though, Glint is apparently getting a 25% speed boost trait, so you have that to look forward to if it’s true.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Going with what you’ve said, you’re after a Guardian or an Elementalist, both are highly praised in both forms of gameplay, PvP & PvE (This includes WvWvW), Guardian is more so what you’re after as they are capable of offering reflects, where-as elementalists only really offer projectile destruction as their Reflect comes with an earth ability and only affects the Elementalist, not the party unless specifically traited for it (But it’s not really worth it, better alternatives) where-as the guardian just needs to sacrifice a utility slot.
Both classes are pretty easy to play however, the Elementalist more so as it is a very forgiving class right now with it’s meta build offering a crazy amount of damage through Burns as well as having great survivability via the celestial amulet and large amount of active defences the class has.
The guardian is a more “High Risk-High Reward” Class, given that if you play the general go-to meta build for a guardian (Medi zerker) your running a glass cannon build who’s offensive abilities also double as his or her defensive. This means if you want to be offensive, you’re giving up the option to be defensive in the near future until your abilities are back off cooldown.
The guardian also offers an insanely strong supportive role if you choose to build as a bunker, don’t expect to tank 3+ players at a time, this simply won’t happen, this isn’t the game for that, but the guardian if built supportively can offer a crazy amount of healing and support via boons and condition removing/converting into boons. The elementalist doesn’t have anything quite like this yet, however this may change with them receiving shouts in their future specialization (Due to the use of Soldier runes).
Do note however that you stated you enjoy CC (Knockdowns etc), neither class really has a large amount of access to these abilities, the Elementalist more so than the Guardian, but if you’re strictly after CC, the Engineer is definitely the go-to class here, but i personally feel that the Elementalist or Guardian are more so what you’re after.
In regards to leveling taking minutes or years, this is very very exagerated, I’m not entirely sure where years has come from.
For a new player, leveling to 80 in minutes isn’t going to happen, as this is done via stockpiling tomes of knowledge which are gained quite often in SPvP, but leveling via PVE for a first toon is still faster.
If you play for roughly 3-4 hours a day, you can expect to get to level 80 in roughly 2 to 3 weeks. If you’re in a guild that would be happy to guide you through level appropriate dungeons, you could probably shave some days off, as doing the early dungeons (Ascalonian Catacombs (AC) and Caedacus’s Manor (CM)), you can, at the lower levels, gain at least 1 level per path, meaning an easy 6 levels a day at least until the level 50-60 range.
Or, if you have the cash to burn, you can purchase gems, convert them to gold, and purchase crafting materials to craft your way to 80, i wouldn’t recommend this though as leveling in this game is already so easy as it is, and to craft your way to 80 from a fresh toon with no gold or mats at all would probably cost you roughly £40

Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
At this point, i genuinely don’t care if content is broken, i just want something new to do in-game.
I was having a blast on the first beta weekend with the revenant even though it only had 3 legends and was missing a weapon set, simply because it was something fresh.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Is burning broken on purpose or it will be changed any time soon ? Some people may like it but i think is kittened.
Why ?
is it because you continually refuse to run a cleansing team comp ?
is it because you want the ONLY 3 barely viable options outside of zerker to fail and be completely useless again in dungeons and across other places in the game ?
i’d rather have the few PvPers quit here then have so many people on other areas of the game quit due to zerker boredom.
Burning would still be fine, even if it took a damage hit.
As it stands now, conditions are meant to be damage over time, but most builds that are utilizing burning are literally playing as if they were marauder/zerker builds due to the sheer amount of burns they can unload in a short amount of time, with the added bonus of their damage coming from only one stat, meaning they can beef themselves up with healing power, toughness, vitality, etc.
I played a Burn guardian, and it’s disgusting at how effective it is, i don’t need to think about what I’m doing, just pop whatever applies burns and you’re golden.
An engineer running with a flamethrower, balth runes, dual pistols and doom/geo is even worse. I was literally killing people by doing the following:
1. Use Incendiary Ammo
2. Magnet Pull
3. Weapon swap
On top of all the procs that went off upon weapon swapping, it was enough to actually down several classes/builds. Do you really think that’s balanced? This wasn’t damage that took 10-15 seconds to roll out either, this was literally condi burst that was occuring from a weapon swap, procing my sigils which in turn, procced incendiary powder and Incendiary Ammo’s effect. I was applying nearly 9 stacks of burn instantly, alongside a ton of other condi’s and it was wiping classes with 11-15k hp in mere seconds.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Because Anet haven’t got the smarts to go through every single ability and change their effectiveness against player targets, which would completely destroy the “PvP ruined this for PvE” and vice versa argument.

what’s the point of picking Jalis if you can choose his same heal on Shiro? That’s just an example. Picking skills would just make legends useless. You’re simply saying that you don’t like Revenant’s mechanic, and you’re free to do it. However don’t ask to ruin the class please.
Going through your post history, i see where you feel there’s a problem.
People aren’t asking for the ability to have Malyx utilities with Shiro, we’re asking for some universal utilities that can be used with all legends or give each legend an additional 2 utilities that can be swapped out for what they currently have, restricted to legends.
This will put the revenant on par with every other class having 20 utilities base, and it will at least offer SOME customization while still remaining to the theme of utilities being locked to certain legends.
