I’ve opened at least 1k~ bags and not gotten one. Got every other recipe but the superior ones.

No gift recipes or endless potion either.

Ended up buying it off the TP since the price dropped a lot and I’m tired of farming corn.

Yeah I’ve done a couple groups where everyone leaves and you get booted. Missed the chest a couple of times because of this. You shouldn’t be auto-booted if the party breaks up in a instance. :/

Curious myself…it should be going on all day the 31st I imagine though. Since they said it wasn’t a one time deal.

That said, I hope it starts midnight pst. But everything else has been almost entirely noon pst (except for start)…but I hope they start it earlier then that to give a bigger time window for people to complete it.

I’m in a similar predicament. xD Minis or witch costume.

If I get the minis I’ll end up buying two packs which is more expensive just so I can get chainsaw and the others ones still. >.< Since I like collecting them, its sad that they are account bound and I don’t have the ability to get them off the TP unlike the other minis.

If I go for the costume can do costume brawl quite well and have a permanent costume for the next holidays to come. And also considerably cheaper and get a bit more enjoyment out of it maybe?

Theres no doubt that next year they will offer more/different, but not sure if the current selection will disappear.

I was kinda curious if its rebuilding would be part of Act 4 since Act 4 kinda sounds likes a breather day of the final event. I don’t really feel that like anything too worse can happen at this stage, I mean ppl are beating Mad King Thorn x305825082, I doubt he’ll be coming out anytime soon. xD

Either that, or a week of the NPCs rebuilding it or something would be interesting, adding to flavor, or adding a DE would be pretty cool too.

As far as I know for he scavanger hunt, and no where on the internet is there anything mentioning one further, there isn’t one in Act 3 and probably not one in Act 4 either. After you finish the 2nd part it sounds pretty finished. So that isn’t too time consuming.

Once I got the hang of it, it was a ton of fun. I admit I got frustrated at first and sometimes would make stupid mistakes. But its all something I’m used to in my platforming experience. :P

Overall, I loved the atmosphere and challenge. Can’t wait to see the other holiday ones.

As much as I disliked it at first, I also liked the group of people together doing it. It obviously added to the challenge and “racing” to the top was always interesting. Not sure if I’d exactly want it in the future, but I wouldn’t complain if it showed up again (but I’m sure plenty others would).

I can’t say I’ve had very good luck on the chest. Out of all the times I’ve done it (like 10 times, even tried after daily reset to see if chest “reset”) I’ve only gotten one crap Exotic, and rest are greens, with magic find buffs. It really feels like diminishing returns was kicking in on the chest, but I dunno. But I have no interest in farming it so I’m not really concerned.

I really don’t care if people that are willing to farm get exotics. I don’t think it’ll hurt the market too bad. I mean Anet obviously thought the market needed a bit of influx in exotics. Though sometimes I wonder if they underestimate the community, and their ability to want to gain money/farm stuff.

The first time I did this me and the whole group did the commands. And suffered greatly for it. No one died, but it slowed us down in killing the horde of candy.

After that I noticed the pop up and did it that way, and then after that I just ignored it (if I wasn’t leader). I did expect it to be like gw1 but it seems its not.

Yeah can only get one per account. Which is the main issue here. :/ Why is it soul bound if you can only have one per account.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed to see its soulbound. My alt would love it. >.<

By default, my video settings have ‘animation’ set to low.

Just before the cut scene occurred I had switched them to Medium because I was interested to see if I was missing anything on the lion statue. It turns out I was missing a glow around the whole lion, and black liquid spiriting out of the fishes.

Luckily I was one of the people who got to experience the whole cut-scene.

Out of interest, as I’m wondering if a random decision helped me see the whole thing. Those of you who just saw a hole, are your animation settings on Low?

All my settings are maxed out except shadows. And I have zero problems as far as other graphical issues. So dunno what happened. >.<

Yeah ever since Act 2 started I’ve been curious about this staff. I like this way more then the other skins available for staves. Maybe in the future we will see it?

Yeah cutscene was buggy for me too. As well as the sound was cutting out in taht area cause so many people, so cutscene had no audio.

But did manage to see this while standing in the plaza later…scared me. O.o

Yeah that zoom was awesome. Would like to see it in the future. Makes seeing those dangerous red circles a lot easier too.

My first run I got greens. Second I got one exotic. I’d say the money reward is the biggest reason to do it, considering. Also, the reward choices I got second run was better imo (personal tot bags), I really don’t need anymore crafting materials.

While I enjoy the dungeon, doubt I’ll straight up farm it. Especially atm since everything seems pretty chaotic since its the first day.

I’m still trying for the superior rune recipe. >.< Haven’t been able to obtain it yet, so for that alone I might farm it instead of farming corn.

Solo’d it as a level 80 Ele. Not too hard, but had a close call with about getting feared off a ledge. lol

I admit I was a little disappointed, was expecting maybe some one of a kind item. Chest didn’t drop much use except a zombie potion.

I wish the bag was account bound. >.<

But I enjoyed the run a lot. So I don’t care overall. Not gonna complain about it. Since it took all of like 20 minutes to complete.

Theres no diminishing returns on the reward? If so, I’ll gladly do it a couple times.

Was quite easy. But if I get even less then I already got then I dunno. Was fun though and I enjoyed it.

The DE dialogue on the screen says (1)…so I assume any level can join.

I have no complaints about letting Halloween run on a bit longer. I mean, there is no harm in it. Cause I doubt we will have one centered around thanksgiving or anything, at least to this quality.

Guess what, though? The USA is NOT the only country that plays this game and only makes up for 50-60% of the game’s population. The rest are in EU, Australia, Asia, South America, Canada, and so forth. Just because one storm effects a certain population, doesn’t mean that population is the center of the world.

I wasn’t saying it was because of that because it was the US. I don’t even live in the US. But I would say that every country or area if it was something that was part of the player base should have the ability to experience everything even if natural disasters happen. Granted they happen all the time, everywhere.

I can see why a company wouldn’t want to extend things for that such causes, because then they’d have to do it for everyone that had a bad snow storm or something all the time. So I can see why they may be best at avoiding it as well.

Agreed. Even though it has been a bit buggy and jumping puzzle was frustrating at first, but I did eventually get it. I have truly enjoyed the event so far and can’t wait to see more.

I feel like you’ve put a lot more effort into one holiday so far that I have seem in most MMOs I have played. Can’t wait for other holidays.

Also, for prolonging the event by breaking it down into acts is great. Give enough for people to do for a few days without totally taking away from their daily schedule.

On the side note, my level 22 Sylvari Guardian can’t seem to get inside the tower when I reached the top (even if I reached it over an over). Is that also a bug or does the tower have level requirements?

I had this issue for a long time on my Sylvari. Restarting my client and joining another instance of it seemed to help, supposedly some of the instances are getting bugged. I kept hitting some kind of invisible wall.

Like after the first cog and you pause. Does the animation kinda pause for a second while the clock face thing that is forming flips over? Mine did that every run I had till I restarted my client. And some people are suggesting thats a hint that the instance might be bugged for you.

Yeah I was in the piazza when Act 2 started and it was pretty short. But it definitely exploded a little bit.

Poor thing is definitely not going to last long. Can’t wait to see what happens today though.

There is the possibility you encounter a bug when “failing” and get downed/die. I had that happen multiple times myself. :/ Ended up having to repair after my couple of hours on the puzzle.

Either way, that sucks a lot. I’m sorry you had to find out that way. And if the above mentioned bug caused it thats even more frustrating.

It’s quite sad that this puzzle has resorted into people hating on each other because of the race they decided to play. That really should never have had to be a factor.

Personally, I saw a few complain about Norn/Charr. And saw a few Norn/Charr complain about bad camera.

I think just the amount of stress majority of people are experiencing isn’t helping the situation. Failing consistently they have to complain at some point. And the fact of not seeing your character is probably the most common.

Yeah, been hoping they’d do something about this. Maybe one day. Maybe an event item tab? While your at it, a place for tonics would be nice. Especially since costume brawl exists now. And BLTC items, and town clothes stuff…I guess I’m asking for too much now. xD

Any reason these won’t stack? Anyone else having this issue? Is it supposed to be this way?

They stacked fine before the patch. Now they don’t seem to want to stack.

Majority of them were obtained on the same character. Most of them from personal ToT bags, but some of them were gained on alts and regular ToT bags. But either way they stacked fine before.

I believe they did change it with the patch yesterday to only be able to loot it once daily. That means it won’t reset till the daily stuff resets at 8 pm EST.

So if you did it last night. You won’t be able to get a chest again all day today till that time.

I’d say definitely try restarting the client. I went through the clock like 15 times yesterday, always hitting the invisible wall. Restarted client and got it the first try. :/ Its weird.

I was wondering if Air was helping me (only have 5 trait boost). I never seemed to be first at first. But eventually once I got the whole thing memorized I’d breeze past people pretty quickly. So I assume that at least is part of the equation.

Speed hacking is usually pretty definitive. Someone moving so fast they are teleporting or practically running through the air. But this also could be poor connection symptoms as well.

Though I did see some people never get near me at the front yet they still beat the puzzle. Its possible the game just filtered them out of my view since the game does do that with players now if there is too many in an area.

The events are random Dynamic Events. You can get to them by helping the Priory in the starting areas or going through the Portal in the Mad World and killing the champion bosses in the Labyrinth.

I actually “died” a couple of times on this. Usually when I was on the last jump into the clock face and I would hit the invisible wall and just fall. If I fell anywhere else in the puzzle I wouldn’t go to downed state. But at that particular spot always had the downed debuff. I ended up having to repair after that as well. So at one point I must of actually died. :/

I did have one occasion also that when I waited till super late to jump into the clock face (green mist was pretty much all around me). And I just kept falling and falling and it reloaded to me falling endlessly (did this like 3 or 4 times) till it ported me to the second platform on a new run. The one you pause on waiting for the rest of the platforms to form. Crazy glitch that was.

As for your particular glitch. That happened to me the first time I got that far. I assumed I was too slow and the mist got me. After that I avoided the cogwheel and just waited for the platform to form. Then I never got grabbed or reset there.

I believe with this puzzle we have found the true cause of why King Thorn went mad. lol

I agree. I don’t mind that its timed. But timed AND having a large group of people is a recipe for a massacre…

As someone that suffers from MS. I know your pain. But I managed to eventually beat it (took like 3+ hrs)…though I’m really hard headed about letting my disease interfere with my gaming these days. >.<

Eventually I just had it down to a science and could blaze through it. Persistence helps. If you want to achieve it.

I never stopped to loot the chests, I figured they were red herrings to trick you into pausing for a second.

I wouldn’t mind. I’d like to use them on characters that could benefit from. My Eles back slot is the best I can have that I want. But the stats is pretty great for some of my other characters. I just really dislike doing event things multiple times.

Either way now they are taking up space in my bank.

I had this as well..seems you have to jump directly into the middle.

I swear I did this multiple times, but failed to jump into the clock at least 15 times. Eventually I reloaded and got it the first time. Maybe I was bugged, i dunno.

Yeah haven’t been able to go to Reapers of Lunatics yet. Even after patch. Can’t wait to see it though.

Finally beat it, had that crap down to a science. But kept not going through the clock face properly. Finally got it after I reloaded, maybe I was just bugged.

I’m more annoyed Ive jumped through the clock tower face that is broken like 12 times and i just fall to my death.

I have a problem if i get into a big group with a couple charrs with skirts. I really can’t see anything..eventaully it dwindles down, but still. :/

I haven’t bought any corn, farmed all mine. But I’ve spent a good 800+ myself on bags. I got a lot of crafting mats (well not a lot I have like 20+ of everything). Got all the recipes except the Superior Rune (which is what I am after). I even got recipes from the karma vendors. Which I don’t even know why those are in there. :/

Random is random though. There is still quite a few days left of the event. Maybe we’ll have something that gives us better choices or chances later on. But I honestly don’t know why they even sell them in the gem store. :/ Seems like the most useless thing you can spend gems on at this point.

I found a random bag or whatever it was that spawned it in that cave with the veteran bears in Queensdale. I went there on another character and it wasn’t there, so apparently it is random.

But I only got changed once when I was chasing. And I’d say it took me pretty long to kill it. :/

But this is something that is permanently in the game now, so no rush on finding it.

I’ve had better luck getting recipes from regular ToT bags than the personalized ones from the kids. The personalized give a lot more skulls, nougats, and fangs though.

Oddly enough my luck seems to be quite the opposite. Personal bags have been the only ones to give me recipes so far. :/ Also, managed to get a couple cooking recipes I already bought from the vendor…feel kinda jipped those are even in the bags.
