80 warr [Blaze Steelsoul], 80 ele [Blaze Nightstrike], 80 mesmer [Grim Shatterwhirl]
80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
charr and norn cultural armour are very necro-ish
but this is my salad (before i deleted and remade as charr) t3 shoulders; rest TACrossing.. jelaous
lucky drop from the MK dungeon xD (i was also using zhaitans reach and severed hand dagger for even more zombie hands)… i transmuted the skin onto my charr necro so it didnt get thrown into the bin
I’m getting really dissapointed of how lame and childish some gandara are, so to the necro from The Knights Temple did you really have to do this again the second time after the vet archer rezed me to 90% health?
I would generally just ignore this but it’s constantly happening not from guildless player’s who may not know any better but from guilds that after looking up on google apparently don’t allow this sort of behaviour.
You are inside the keep, what do you expect? a pat on the back for manage to stay there or what?
What kinda childish behavior is it to come to forums and complain about someone killing your teammate that tries to res you?
it looks more like corpse jumping (from the second SS) complaint to me

create thief char (or mesmer… engi… guard… necro… whatever)>transmute skin onto a non soulbound white (or blue) item>put in bank>delete char>pull out of bank on char you want skin on (accountbound now; ignore the warning when transmuting it only affects masterwork and above)>transmute onto stats you want
there is barely any available waypoints as 90% of the maps in Orr is contested..
this i agree with
2. You would need a bigger group than in Queensdale to farm the champs, and well… Eventhough the loot is more valueble (with the Heavy loot bags and stuff), it just have a hard time making up for Champ runs in maps like Queensdale.
theres often a sizable CS champ train on deso… (i go FG personally; but alot of my guildies go CS)
Dungeons are chock full of places where you gather around a corner to pull a bunch of silvers
with an optimal team they die before you can get off wells+locust swarm+tainted shackles+life transfer
if you are going to duel DONT DO IT HERE!
also in borderlands; people dueling on roads, its so kitten stupid (this picture especially so; because its right outside spawn and RS was steam rolling with 5 omegas against like 4 defenders)
@gandara engi (magitech armour; female) with runes of perplexity, bk,tk and rocket boots you were pretty fun to fight (when you decided to stick around), but you run so predictably (also when… when you were low on health or i dodged your interrupts – do people really fall for those?)
(edited by Linguistically Inept.6583)
pve overworld is already ridiculously easy (even group events; most are doable solo if you play well… just take annoyingly long)
There is video on youtube, but I don’t have any links, it was posted on the forums a while back.
oh i was looking for new post patch videos; kitten xD
No actually unless you are doing a speed run.
there are good high damage pug players, i had some amazing CoE groups back when i used to farm it for lodestones (and some really really bad ones) that can do this.
Also noone said reflects are bad (they are technically in some cases where attacks obviously aint ment to be reflected, proof being in deadeye nerf and tons of videos on youtube), but you cannot keep it up 24/7.
better proof would be bosses with completely unblockable projectiles (the dredge boss near the clown car or tomcatgolems poison whirl) which good experienced players know about, malronas one hit barrage attack is reflectable; meaning nice damage and some party security (any decent guard who has ran that path before should be using WoR at that fight)
As for encounters that encourage ranged again i give you arah god bosses, AR, most of MF, the Mad king dungeon, most of AC, most of SE and every meta event boss ever.
i barely remember the mad king fight… other than i did it on my ranger back when i thought ranged was best (and scarecrows summoning birds… and getting the crossing) so cant comment
mai trin was easier if people werent ranging about everywhere (because you knew the cannon was going to land on mai trin if you all were in melee range)
that golem boss was nicely thought out (but the camera -as with gauntlet- sucked) in that it is near impossible to melee the golems down
AC i havent done since the revamp (a very long time) but all the bosses were easily meleeable (troll a bit harder; but could be done)
SE… only boss i havent meleed is the golem duo at the end of p2 (cant remember story other than the terminator boss)
meta bosses are extremely poorly designed (for so many different reasons.)… but still theres people who go up and bash the feet of teq, chin of behe and stump(?) of golemMk2
the vocal minority that doesnt understand what working for your rewards means
because being melee and highly squishy isnt hard? is being highly squishy -or worse; highly tanky- and ranged HARDER? do you work more for it? no… you dont
OR plain having fun with a boss encounter pulling the attention of the devs.
wow; really? you have more fun standing well away from things doing less than possible damage? because i have fun being right up in things faces with a full team, killing it before it can do anything… thats not wrong; the irony being that you’re saying melee is bad because you dont like it/cant do it
to clarify; i have nothing against how you want to play (though i probably wont like playing with you), but dont say people playing well and efficiently are playing badly
(edited by Linguistically Inept.6583)
Bifrost for example adds in the rainbowy cloud into the death shroud.
any video on this? i cant find one "/
or do you mean the spider tree?… in which case id suggest you go over to the dungeon sub forum, they have a number of useful strategies (well… one… and another that is… meh)
The oakheart/giant tree and yeah i have read them and you kinda cannot do it in a pug.. also they fixed the dodge trick when the eggs fall/on spawn command thing a while ago.
For short fact is there are a lot of bosses that if not plain require are encouraged to be fought at range, while other at melee and even those require some heavy repositioning or aoe evasion times where you are plain lose more dps by doing nothing than dropping (a tad weaker than the melee) ranged attacks n skills.
Also staff on necro is the equivalent of focus on mesmer, greatsword on warrior, etc with how the profession was designed.
so because you cant do it in a pug it means its impossible… obviously; stupid me.
You want to get hit by the poison squirt. Makes you do 6x damage so its important to tell the group not to cleanse the poison
really? never noticed that… guess ive been doing it wrong… but better than the pugs i was with (staying ranged… until they see im not dying… then thinking that they can melee as well… and dying because they cant dodge… or those guards without WoR shudder)
Just for counter arguments sake:
Warrior: 20 in cleansing ire, 30 in inspired battle standard, full adrenaline, alternating banners for 100% regen uptime.
Healing Signet: 402 hps
Regen: 155 hps (5 people = 775 hps)
Adrenal Health: 390/3 = 130 hps402 + 155 + 130 = 687 hps, sustainable indefinitely, unless you go out of action long enough to see adrenaline decay.
Seems balanced to me. Warriors have a higher damage potential, and are capable of doing more damage output while traited for survival than rangers. So risk/reward and outputs all factored in, it looks like the 2 classes are equal with each other, 1 having more survival through evades, while the other having a higher total damage output.
Also, the hps from the banners isn’t the only AoE effect granted for your party, which is a nice little bonus.
Still, everything looks pretty in line.
Your not factoring in your pet to damage, and that is all the Warrior healing abilities he has.
If I added the 658 Hp/S healing, and the Spirit of Nature, Signet of the Wild, Regeneration, Natural Healing then the Hp/S is almost twice as much as what a warrior can heal for. This isn’t even including the pet.
Not to mention the Ranger has Stealth/Protection/Spam-Evades.
healing signet is always up; troll has a 40 percent up time
warr has blocks invulns and better cond removal, whats your point?Which makes it worse against things like poison. Which we can’t simply dodge to remove.
Ranger has Traited Signet of the Wild, which is 8 seconds of you and your pet having Invulnerability. Warrior has worse Condition Removal then Rangers do actually, ours has a chance to be effected by the following.
Ranger attacks have evades built right in, the Greatsword’s Autoattack is far superior to Shield Block.
1. Aegis.
2. Blind.
3. Block.
4. Invulnerability.
5. Evade.

you say ‘yours’ as if i dont have a warrior? or maybe i read it wrong
ranger GS does piddly damage compared to warr GS, its a defensive weapon, a better comparison would be ranger GS vs warr mace+shield

Ok now how do you deal damage to people? Warrior is mostly power damage focused. We don’t have burning/poison.
Also, that is nice against conditions, however what does that do against Power Damage?

after i deleted my salad sylvari i was planning on creating a norn because i love the cultural armour, demon mask and leopard… but male norn are just so kitten annoying to play (and the way they swing the axe…), so i created charr instead (for similar reasons, cultural armour and skele mask)
how you melee(ed)…or the spider room in TA
…
you mean the stone touches and other trash? you can well bomb them easily (hell; if you go ranged then they scatter everywhere and it takes annoyingly long)
you mean… is it malrona? the big spider? thats easy to melee… predictable attack pattern (squirt>barrage>squirt>barrage, always stay to the side so you dont get squirted and learn to dodge at the right time to evade the one hit barrage)
… i hope you dont mean fiona? thats set to auto attack>alt tab>check facebook
or do you mean the spider tree?… in which case id suggest you go over to the dungeon sub forum, they have a number of useful strategies (well… one… and another that is… meh)
No. Pve and WvW doesn’t matter to them when they balance the game.
didnt they nerf confusion in pve after it was nerfed in pvp because it wrecked people in wvw?
Troll Unguent 684 Hp/s… Can’t believe this isn’t looked at!
for 10 seconds… that means its an 8560 heal every 25 seconds, that leaves you open to burst and poison
heal as one is 6.5k every 20 seconds
in 100 seconds you get 4 trolls or 5 HaO
troll = 34k heal
HaO = 32.5k
then go and compare them to mending or ether feast and youll realise its not insane at all.
A) Staff does always more as the DS base than axe, even if traited.
heres some testing i did
http://imgur.com/a/xwRkUfrom this it appears
staff>axe
staff = axe w/ axe training
staff w/sigil of force = axe / axe training and sigil of force
staff w/sigil of force < axe w/axe training, sigil of force and OFFHAND sigil (i used lightning on the focus in the example)
not sure how that translates into non steady weapons though… too annoying to check… i was lazy and just uploaded all screenshots… and dont know how to delete them from the album (cause im nub)
… and looking at these reminds me to reset my graphics settings (was champtraining in frostgorge a while ago)
Also keep in mind damage modifiers are multiplicative so the more you introduce the more axe training is going to overtake the base staff lifeblast damage.
i thought there was something i was missing…

Guardian hasn’t been touched really
just saying… guardian got… sort of… nerfed from other class changes
c. not my build, but theres not really anything better to take in that slot (maybe reapers precision… but dagger… so kitten ton of life force anyway)… and does it affect the duration of locust swarm? wiki seems to imply that it just affects swiftness… and im too lazy to check… but if it does make locusts last longer then its a damage increase
Yep both swiftness and duration of locusts are increased to 14 seconds. When I tested it locust swarm ticked 13 times when traited, didnt test untraited. So it probably goes from 9-10 ticks to 13 ticks. You end up having about 11.5 second downtime on locust swarm when traited, compared to about 20 seconds when not traited. Pretty massive difference.
despite stating that i was too lazy to check… i did actually end up testing it (just because my necro was in HotM anyway), yep it goes from 10 to 13 ticks
- also updated wiki page… though my wording sucks
(edited by Linguistically Inept.6583)
barely use spirits so i find it hard to care…
but this…
Spirit of Nature: Recharge has been reduced from 240 seconds to 180 seconds.
i like… i like a lot
So many things wrong in terms of necro there… A) Staff does always more as the DS base than axe, even if traited.
B) Dagger is sadly melee thus you cannot keep the dps for the entire fight in most cases, also Life blast is technically our cleave
C) One does not simply ignore better traits for the quite worthless Banshees Wail (seriously the trait is never worth it, even if you wanna get a bit more LF from 5 now that the stun sigils have been fixed)
a. last i checked (with steady weapons in spvp) traited axe DID do more lifeblast damage than staff
b. melee is fine for the vast majority of pve (and if you have to back off for a short amount of time – for example; archdiviner aoe spam right underneath himself – theres still dagger#2 and life blast)
c. not my build, but theres not really anything better to take in that slot (maybe reapers precision… but dagger… so kitten ton of life force anyway)… and does it affect the duration of locust swarm? wiki seems to imply that it just affects swiftness… and im too lazy to check… but if it does make locusts last longer then its a damage increase
edit
oh… and ofcourse recharge rate… locust swarm being a 600 (base) damage aoe (just higher than the first three hits on dagger AA)
(edited by Linguistically Inept.6583)
On the mention of design philosophy, I wonder how much making it so you couldn’t teleport (or shadowstep) out of Immobilize would do to help the necro be difficult to escape from. Rangers, Engineers, and Warriors would notice no change, but the other classes would.
to be pedantic… you cant shadowstep out of immob… you’re still immobed, just in a different location (the biggest exception being ranger elite entangle… which reapplies immob from the vines… so shadowstep/teleport out and they do pretty much nothing – unless you’re stupid enough to walk back into them… which is humorous)
bad in pve (dungeons and DE tagging)
non existant in pvp
could be interesting in wvw… but condis are kind of meh unless roaming and screwed out of a lot of crit procs
Which is essentially my build but with a bad sigil and a trait that you will never use (signet mastery).
didnt even notice; i just specifically recall the part about dagger builds outdpsing deathshroud builds
hamartia has two nice build suggestions
Necromancer:
Dagger builds beat Deathshroud builds by around 20% due to higher base damage of Dagger 1. Traits may look bad, but this gets you all the damage boosts you can have:
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQRBIhhu1IjWlexm6G9eCA6Ru96cMjjXm+Q5A-jQyAYrBRTUgpMgUhAl8KiGbxtIasqFMVJRUt3oIa1A-e30/10/0/0/30 Deathshroud build:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/83937-build-the-shredder-destroyer-of-all/Sadly, the new Deathshroud builds, while super fun, can’t match pure dagger DPS unless your groups need you to stack vulnerability.
On Weapons:
Dagger is max DPS outside of Deathshroud. Traited Axe is most DPS in Deathshroud. Staff is second best DPS in Deathshroud. Without traits, Staff has the best Deathshroud damage.

i came to the forums just to complain about this; its ridiculous (and annoyed me to hell with the first release too), id much prefer to just have instant death when touching water than this god awful waiting whilst my character slowly dies because im rubberbanding everywhere and cant jump to safety
- oh and jumping off a water geyser then suddenly hitting the water because the geyser dissappeared before you landed on ground
disagree with this…
theres the animations (idle and running are both very distinctive)
voice shouts (‘IM WILTING!’)
different… is it anatomy? their body shape is different to humans@OP ewwwww norn, salad all the way
a salad will be my future necromancer XD
for now i’m stiked with my norn eir like char (it’s the only female cute face i can find ._. ) but damm i’ll go with the krytan armor skin… because t3 is really expensive… reallyAlso i finded some interesting things about norn (and maybe this isn’t the right section… but … )
1) ranger female norn auto attack with gs looks faster to me o.o is it an impression or what?
2) ranger female norn gs 4# block is epic, but 90% of times doesn’t push back foes…
female norn arent bad; its the males i hate, taking up all my screenspace
i particularily like the sovereign, zodiac and fractal daggers
… but most could use some love
1. I’ve always loved sylvari. But they also have the advantage of looking like two races, sylvari and human. If you put a hat and fabric looking clothes on, it’s only your face that reveals you as a sylvari. And then you can do something as simple as take your hat off, and suddenly you look more like a sylvari again.

Agreed just end it, end the whole downed experience..
Just a little example, yesterday fighting a Risen krait i go downed, as i go downed i spin my camera and nothing is behind me, i’m down fighting a Risen krait i kill it and Rally as i do i see a Risen Thrall kicking me in my back FROM NO WHERE :O and here is the kicker as i rallied the Risen Thrall just vanished, faded away to nothing..
So where did the second mob come from and why did it just vanish when i got back up, was it just there to help kill me for metrics or something?
some risen krait summon minions (other risen)… they poof into nothingness as the summoner dies (… again)
no… no it shouldnt
If you have to tell people that you own a legendary then you don’t own a legendary.
well atleast the moot is a legendary that doesnt go up to people, pull their face to its and scream ‘IM A LEGENDARY’…
… i actually prefer the more subtle legendaries
Lol, what? It’s a shimmering disco ball that gives off the reflecting light effect disco balls do in real life plus leaves behind a trail of disco floor tiles.. and it’s subtle and doesn’t scream ’I’M A LEGENDARY’? Mmmkay then. :P It’s one of the more ridiculous ones imho. To each their own.
atleast it isnt twilight/sunrise taking up half of other players screens with your weapon swings

would +1 except for
no lootbags, no xp.
this essentially turns it into a kitten move, ‘oh you downed me, but screw you’
… i like the idea of offing yourself to prevent rallies in wvw though
as a ‘farmer’ i disagree with this
fine with wanting to complete the event (though… theres only one achievement for actually completing the event… and its obtainable several times a day)… but farmers do help with this… just get sidetracked on aetherblades
i find it humourous that ‘completers’ call ‘farmers’ selfish… because isnt it selfish (to an extent) to ask people (often the majority in a map) to stop farming for you to complete an event?.. why is your time more important than theirs?
the four solutions i see to this are
- nerf aethers to the ground (obviously going to be extremely unpopular)
- bring minions up to aether farmability (more popular… but… lot and lots and lots of champion bags would make it considerably more profitable; and possibly still impact overall completion time)
- make the minion progression based on portal closes; not kills
- super duper buff completion rewards so everyone wants to complete
Can someone explain to me how axe boosts DS? This is the 2nd time I’ve read that.
based off weapon damage
staff is naturally highest; but with axe training axe beats staff

It would be nice if they made them account bound. Currently you can swap legendaries between characters by transmuting them with a white item to make them account bound and re-transmuting them with the desired stats, but there might be some issue with this after the patch given the new ability to change stats legendaries are going to get.
Transmuting items makes them soulbound
Not if you transmute to a white item. Then it becomes account bound.
Oh cool. Another totally not misleading tool tip.
Sooooo many thiefs transmuted their hoods to get it back after they accidently destroyed them :-D
and rangers/engis stole thief hoods then mercilessly deleted the owner
… but +1 to this suggestion, id love to be able to use howler on my necro and ranger (when i get it of course >.> <.<)
Aetherblade in general are a real pain the kitten to deal with because they can essentially stunlock a large group of players.
Molten Alliance meanwhile are too easy, as they have very low health, do little damage, and it’s even possible to solo their tunneling machines.
The clockwork mobs though seem to fall somewhere in the middle. The bigger guys hurt a lot and really do need to be focus fired, while the small ones can be AoEed and double tapped to make sure they don’t reform.
I’m not sure if this was intentional or not, but that’s about how it feels.
all molten alliance, aetherblades and steam creatures can be soloed with relative ease (i dont recall attempting to solo a twisted portal, but the corpse mechanic could make it difficult)
- molten alliance either doesnt scale at all with players or scales very badly, soloing aetherblades means theres considerably lessIf you are not a ranger you can solo the tunnel indeed. My bow attacks keeps on saying I am not in range, even if I am standing next to it :/
The aether stun is just way too annyong to be in the game..then switch to a sword or GS?
You cannot switch during combat, another brilliant idea :/
But I am a ranger, makes no sense that something I am standing right next to cannot be hit by a bow.
yes you can… unless you’re going double ranged? if so; why?
- not that im arguing against it being stupid that they cant be hit; it is (though they could put a protective bubble around it to prevent people trivialising it -even more- with range)

Please remove the 25% movement speed drop in combat mode, it has no point at all and is very, very, extremely inconvenient and annoying!
Thank you.
cant move out of aoes as quickly
… i would consider it more like; being out of combat gives you a movement speed increase
I’ve heard that each map is played at least once a day, sometimes more. I don’t believe this at all, since I’ve yet to see Frostgorge.

im sure people suggested this before this as well
What are you rambling on about?
logic
But the fact that there is a real world symbol IDENTICLE to a actual sacrificial idol people have killed other people over an alter for is just disturbing. People sacrifice new born babys in front of this rams head.
The cross smybol has been used to burn people alive and Im sure you dont complain about people wearing one in the street.
Regarding the new born babies, care to post any link or source to your claims? Because your bohemian groove is nothing but old people drinking too much and doing a bit of theater. If it was true they would be in prison by now…
No it is true, Look up Alex Jones news story on it. Bohemian Grove. There’s many references on google you can look up yourself where baby’s have been sacrificed over this idol. There was even an episode on Dr Phil where this woman’s father would kitten her at around 12-13 and her children when born were sacrificed by neighborhood folk who would take the child and cut it open in front of the rams head and burn it. Eating its flesh and drinking its blood. This kinda stuff happens all the time. And yes the Christian Symbol “WAS” Responsible for peoples death but that was during the which hunts.
Im not gonna respond to every post here and defend myself. My message has been posted and that’s all the comfort I need.
alex jones seems a bit… eccentric
do you believe everything someone tells you? i can transform into a giant panda… its true… why would i lie to you?
you mean this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtSVBTne-KY
there was a brochure with a picture
and they burned something he couldnt see, speculating that ‘it could be [a] real [baby]’
this thread is ridiculous; its obviously based on capricorn
(you’re not going to make a thread about the warhorn making players gay right?)
Post too long to edit so
I request that everyone tries not to use envy and elitism in this matter because it only shows your own envy.
envy that you can press ‘f’ and use a portal?
yes im so envious… ¬¬… its not like… i could take that portal too… no… that would be crazy
If the content isn’t made to be skipped, why is such a large amount of content skipable, and why have they never done anything about it?
stopped reading after that.
im sure its been repeatedly stated that they’re attempting to design encounters to prevent skipping… changes to how stealth works and bug fixes
“How does it affect YOU? It doesn’t, so it doesn’t matter.”
If you apply that logic to the problem of portaling through JPs, what’s to stop you from applying it to every single aspect of the game? There’s nothing special about JPs that warrants some kind of special exemption, so if you say you should be allowed to skip them, because it doesn’t take anything from other players, then you could say that about the entire game too.
- Don’t like running dungeons to get the weapons/armor? Just give them to players who don’t want to run the dungeons, its not like its taking anything from anyone else, so what does it matter?
- Don’t like exploring the world to get the gift of exploration? Just give it to players who don’t like exploring, its not like its taking anything from anyone else, so what does it matter?
- Don’t like killing world bosses to get guaranteed rares? Just give them to players who don’t like killing world bosses, its not like its taking anything from anyone else, so what does it matter?
- Don’t like working up the gold to buy high level gear? Just give them soulbound to players who don’t like earning money, its not like its taking anything from anyone else, so what does it matter?
- Don’t like all the endless farming required for a legendary? Just give them soulbound to players who don’t like farming, its not taking anything from anyone else, so what does it matter?
+1
