Just loging into a game to get rewards is casual play in my book.

I’m craving to get into the game and farm those amazing events and world bosses but I have too much of the farmable materials… I just need those laurels but I can’t progress because of the time gates! Please Anet let play your game! I want to swing my sword, play RP and slay those Alien-looking plants in silverwaste but you guys don’t let me progress! :’(

Yea i forgot to mention that, unfortunately, i’m aiming for WvW infusion which require, of course, more Laurels.
Then while you wait for laurels go increase your WvW level
what i tried to ask you was what of the things they said will be avaliable in the core world would make people stop playing with eachother expasion or not.
The only mastery they said so far is the legendary precursor mastery that will be available in the core world.
To little information to doom and gloom like you do bud.
ok what have they written other then that you will get masterys in the core world and what other lines have they said other then the precursor ones.
Do you with a straight face say that people being able to craft all the legendarys we have atm will make them not play with the people who cant craft them?

That is the problem with todays games and kids, they are given everything they want immediately that they want it.You want that “devoted” players are able to progress as fast as they want. Well, they can. Devoted players log in everyday and you, by your own words, you are not devoted player. Why should you then get all the rewards immediately?
Please keep somethings hard in game.
I myself was away for extended period, as I grew bored in the game. But I accept that I do not have hundreds of Laurels that I need because of that. I do not try to change the system, because of my own faults.
Please do not make quick conclusions. I’m far from a kid and nowhere in my post you’ll see the word “easy”, I currently want the opposite but time gates is not a good thing for an mmo for devoted players. Like I said:
Make Laurels farmable without limits like everything else so that devoted players will be able to progress as fast as they want.
And then content locust as that what i see when you say devoted players will turn around and say
- Now what I got all that there is to get in the game and nothing else left to do give me MORE.
Or quit the game another 9 months while they wait for content.
A devoted player is like me who played most of of the last two years with breaks now and then, Im sitting on 550 laurels atm and can do the content when ever I want.
The more we have info about the new expansion the more we get disappointed XD I truly hope this trend will change..or no Hot for me sorry ^^

The skill probably won’t work like that live… but I can see the comparison.
Agree its made to look cool much like the hammer wielding engineer that kill a mordem wolf in 1 hit.
I dont see either of these as a problem, since we dont know how the masterys in core world will affect it, we cant say it will split the community and i severly dubt they would implement it as a way to segregate players that go back to core world from the ones that are stuck there.

No, what it means is that let’s say you want the legendary dagger “Incinerator”

You would have to complete the “Incinerator Collection” which might for example include things like a bunch of different exotic daggers, some new items made up just for the collection like, “Imbued Essence of Sharpness”, which has its own quest line requiring a rare drop from Tequatl that must be heated in battle with the Fire Elemental, then quenched in the icy heart of the Claw of Jormag, etc. Once you finally finish the collection, you get a chest reward. Inside the chest is Spark, the precursor to Incinerator. That’s the way I am interpreting it.
The problem with this system of course is that if, for example, you want your thief to wield two Incinerators, you’ll have to come up with a different way to get the second one (unless it’s just the skin you want).

The issue is it will take people out of the dungeon running pool and it will be harder to find groups. That’s the issue.
Some people are forced out if their comfort zones to do dungeons. Take all those people out of the equation and there’ll be less people running dungeons the “old” way.
I wonder what percentage of that group does dungeons outside their comfort zone and what percentage just avoids them and finds something else to do.
I don’t know if I’m the exception or the norm for that group, but I have a warrior, guardian, and ranger at 80 and still haven’t done a dungeon, even though I like the content, specifically because of the need to group.
But the dungeon content in this game, in many ways is DESIGNED around a group.
There’s a destroyer boss in COE in the middle of a platform. There are three lasers that target this boss and platforms leading down to him. The challenge is to coordinate all three people to use the lasers and then have everyone converge on the boss after taking down his shield. That shield comes back too, so you have to get back up before the shield comes back up and dodge dropping dragon teeth in order to progress.
You make those solo, you’ve destroyed the soul of that encounter. You may get your solo dungeon eventually. But you’ll never experience that content the way it was meant to be experienced.
To be completely honest, only a handful of people “experience” the content. It is always sped through so quickly that there is rarely much time to do so. So in a way, allowing the solo dungeon would not only be paced at the rate the person is doing it but they have the choice of just kicking back and actually “experience” it at their leisure.
All that can be done with the lfg or the noob guild that run dungeons with people

Third one is the necessity to use Transmutation Stones to change the look of Eternity to Twilight/Sunrise and vice-versa, you can’t honestly expect me to use a Transmutation Stone every time day comes to GW2 in order to keep my GS and my armor matching ? And then having to change it again when its night again, in order to get to see my Eternity’s special effect over my old Twilight skin. This is even more crazy when you take into account that instances have locked day/night system.
This part of your OP seem to me that you want to change colour depending on day and night if thats not the case go with the sword colour you want and be done with it.
they are 3 dif legendary skins if you want the colour of one of them take it with hilt and particle effects aswell.

I’d love to see gliding implemented all over the world. AION made it work okay and it seems like the mechanics will be similar anyway.
I’d love upgradable/collectible gliders, too, like plant themed ones for sylvari, steam ones for charr, etc.
Aion was built with that in mind and gw2 old world aint

The playerbase will simply be divided and it will be harer to find people for a specific dungeon scaling. This will bring back the issue that we got rid off with holy trinity: takes long time to find groups.
There is no big problem with the current system, so it will be a waste of creating a new one that has its’ own share of issues. Not to mention the fact that Anet has been promising players to offer them an experience that is more focused on grouping rather than playing solo.
Scaling instance content will give one more reason to people to not play with eachother. This is not the direction an MMORPG should take.
You really think those players are going to go to soloD for a third of the rewards each day? Okay lol.
1/3 of the reward is the guy crazy if you want to make a 5 man into a 1 man then its 1/5 of the reward buddy.

The only thing I am terribly disappointed is that gliders won’t be available in old maps. It feels so meh. C’mon! You have an opportunity to make this game so much cooler with those gliders, make them work in vanilla game!

My husband and I are new players to GW2. We have played many others. The only thing we dislike, and would love to have in this one is the view option. We prefer first person. This game has many great things going for it; enough that we can ignore that, but wish for it in the near future. (The current view plays havoc with my astigmatism, LOL)
Many other mmos or games in general? the only mmo that comes to mind with first person view is Elder scrolls online and even that you dont want to switch bettwen both first and third person to see whats happening in combat.
i use 1 2 3 4 5 wsad utility z x c heal shift +x and elite shift e f1-f4 q e m3 m4 rest aint changed so no need to type em
other then the f1-f4 and 10 hotbar keys wsad dodge and loot key thats 20 keys whats the last 2? ( and other then some classes only having 1-4 f keys all others are the same )
and sure as a elemntalist you got 20 weapon skills but you reuse the same keys 4 times anyway so its still only 5 keys like any other class.

Anyway, you know the unlocking only affects story missions and the belonging achievements? If he just wants to get in touch with the story, he can still party up with you and enjoy it without unlocking it.
The only thing he would probably miss is the luminiscent armor collections.

Go out play the game and loot items, thats how you make gold
why instead of adding a nr it extends the time and when certain intervals are reach the damage is ramped up lets say each 45sec of stacked time.
That way it dont matter how many 3 seconds of bleed you get on a mob it will still ramp up damage and it dont matter if mob die to quick since the ticks that do get in hit harder the more of them the are.

Sounded to me we got master points by leveling and not skill points anymore we got those some other way after expansion hits dont that mean infinite mastery points?
This is fully wrong.
You get Master Points from doing things like completing a Jumping Puzzle for the first time, or finishing a Story section. Basically things you get Achievements for.
You spend those Mastery Points to buy Mastery Tracks, like PvP Tracks. You then slot those Tracks into your character somehow.
From here when you gain XP it fills in the Track. When the Track is full you have that Mastery and you need to spend points on a new Track to slot.
So there is finite points you can get with potentially infinite Master Tracks.

The only things in your op thats impossible is
1 the i want to kill as fast as the optimal dps speced people on my healing power char.
2 i want to heal more then the boss do in damage.
This game is a active defence game its not wack a mole game play like wow and no im not a zerker player none of my chars have zerker spec’s
