This patch makes me a sad panda
Pets were my favorite thing about Rangers.
I still say Power of the Virtuous needs a boost.
I think all of those that are supporting the reduction in pet damage are forgetting one simple fact: pets had a really hard time making hits land on mobile targets.

If this is true info, I’m a bit disappointed in the changes myself. Don’t get me wrong though, I liked the changes put in. Zeal REALLY needed help.
But(!), I feel like there should have been more. There’s still other traits that needed some kind of boost. I especially feel that the traits Power of the Virtuous and Permeating Wrath are not strong enough for going 25(+) into Virtues, especially compared to the same Minor/Major Grandmaster trait levels of the other trait lines, and compared to other classes as well. Afterall, Virtues is supposed to be the defining class trait line. This is also with consideration that Retaliation has been nerfed so much. It’s time they give a damage boost to Virtue line as well.

Oh, I have an idea, related to the Off-Hand Weapon thread:
Give Guardians an off hand sword option and attach Torment to its #4 or 5!
Yes the snowball game was fun, and yes the afkers of Dragon Ball sucked, but still, the Dragon Ball game was fun when there was an even fielded team. This thread was made with the assumption of having an afker-less game, so let’s try to think like that please.
Personally, I liked the “simplicity” of Dragon Ball and the strategy of owning the field. The other aspect that I liked about this game is the multiple levels that you could run around in.
Anyways, I’d like to see more of the minigames like Snow/Dragon Ball as a permanent addition and less of the ones that involve “pick up X object and play keepaway from the others”. I absolutely hated the minigames like that.
I’m going to share your hopefulness in this patch, but I just can’t help getting that foreboding feeling.
There’s still several traits in those three lines that you’ve mentioned that need fixing/removing/buffing too though.

I would say EM going to grandmaster, but almost all AH builds run 30/30 anyways… maybe make EM go to Zeal to promote build diversity… would make more sense than it being in the honor traitline anyways lol.
I think it’s going to be more than just that, but I’m also hoping not.
Don’t forget the discussion of pet damage nerfing. Wonder if that’s being included in this wonderful update.

Well Dragonball has some major problems. Anet, you probably already realize.
It is a good game and is fun…. The kicker… if people play and don’t afk etc. You need some way of just booting afkers.. the system should just do it automatically. banned for 30 minutes etc if you are afk ie not moving and shooting etc.
The dragon ball sounds and the music in the arena need some work.. they aren’t the best and have no punch. How about some quake-esque rock soundtrack as that seems to be the inspiration of the game anyway.
Now probably the most important you (Anet) cant tie PvP stuff like this to Living Story (PvE) achievements. It just doesn’t work and leads to what we are seeing right now, people akitteng to just get the achievements etc. Even taking it away from the meta (which you did) achievement doesn’t matter as its still there and PvEers will do it even though they hate it. Now, do I think they could learn to love it certainly, but some players just never will. Best to keep it in a separate optional Tab like Activities etc. Maybe an achievement to play one game or get all the weapons etc but that should be it.
Anyway I liked the game although it has been very frustrating. The map is good and weapons are really good and makes for some interesting PvP combat if played right.

Yeah I like the idea of having my Longbow on my back with my quiver and my Sword&Axe at my side but what about your scenario? Perhaps only have it apply if the slots are not taken? If they are just have the current system switch them.
Would be a cool feature but I sadly don’t see it happening. :/

Thats pretty much our best build at the moment. Its just an apothecary bunker. As Axyl said he was prob using torch in offhand for Bonfire which is the #5 skill.

Are you sure this is right? OP said he was using a sword/dagger & GS combo. I thought that was a power/bunker build, not condi. Though he did say he was using conditions. Really confused here.
yes, that’s what confused me a bit too…I think S/D + GS (+ maybe traps) + cond. damage isn’t that common. But well, there are for sure many variations out there which aren’t common. On the other hand, I’m playing S/D + GS, mostly cerlic gear + mix’n match and on some occasions I’m mixing in fire trap too…
Yeah its the same build, cleric’s armor set is just swapped for apothecary for the condi damage instead of power. I assumed he was running condi bunker because the op said he was using condi crystals. OP also said that the person was getting fire fields so I believe he just mistook torch offhand for dagger as this would be the only way to get fire fields, unless one used flame trap but the OP also said the guy was running 3 signets so it must have been a torch.
Maybe he was using Runes of Fire?
I’d just like to add that I go out of my way to jump into combo fields with my Guardian…..

It’d be nice if we could have our secondary weapon set show on our body while the other is in use, and vice-versa.
IE: Greatsword is in use, but the sword/shield is still on the body. Do your weapon swap and now the greatsword is on the back while the sword/shield are in use.
Of course when both are sheathed, you still see both.
Just for asethics, I’d love to have an offhand sword!
For practicalty, these weapons could apply other condition appliers since we really only have access to one: burning. This could open up a new build based on conditions.
The #4 could be an immobilizer or stunner

3. Specific re-customization kits that cost less than the hairstyle kit: this will allow you to change only one specific aspect of your character, ie eye color change.
If there was a 1 & 2, this would just get my entire wallet right away.
Check the BLT. When you remove an offer the coin gets added to the items you need to pick up. You just need to go to a BLT trader to get it.
She did seem suspicious. However, my thoughts of her were immediately Cantha. Name and outfit was befitting to the region and heavily reminded me of a Factions character.

This game is impossibly easy, even when you don’t have power-ups. It’s about staying with your team and moving/dodging more efficiently than your opponent. I’ve won about 80% of the games I’ve played (around 70-80 games).
I attribute it to my gamepad though. I use a Razer Nostromo game pad to play with, and it does give me a bit of a movement advantage with the thumb stick.
Yeah since there are no marks on the minimap for where your team is, staying with your team is pretty close to impossible. Also there’s no description of the powerups unless you mouse over them and then as you’re reading you’re dead.
I’m glad I don’t play GW2 for the mini games, there’s not a single one that works well with the engine they’re using.
1. The map isn’t that large at all. It isn’t that hard to keep up with/find your team mates.
2. They posted what the skills do in both the official announcement and in the wiki.
3. DB works very well. Also, the Keg game works pretty good too (although personally, I dislike any of the mini’s that require you to pick up things and play keep away).

No, it’d need to be shorter. I’d say much less than 1 minute. Maybe 30 seconds. I’ve seen a lot of these afk’ers throw a ball once every few minutes and then go still again.
Also, the current kick options for groups in the main game have it to where you have to “vote” for it. I don’t see how that could be abused.
It gets abused in the main game.
Here’s what would happen:
Several people would get together and start kicking players who are better than them with the goal of eventually creating an arena they could dominate. Even if you were only allowed to vote people off your own team, they’d eventually replace all the good players with poor ones.
Hmm, I suppose I could see that. Perhaps introducing a single one time use kick for each game then.

I think most of today’s GW2 players couldn’t handle the MMOs of old such as EQ1, DAoC, etc, etc.
I really like Dragonball, but the afk’ers are really ruining this game. If there was a kick option, it would really help fix this problem.

I’m with Obtena here, I think a damage increase in Zeal is completely unnecessary and potentially damaging to the class. The line needs help, but it needs utility help, not damage help.
I have and idea, what if instead of saying “faster/switfly” our Charrs would say “kiss my tail” What do you think ?

1. Wings. Absolutely love them on my Charr.
2. Dragonball. What’s funny is that I hated it at first, but after a couple games, it got real fun. Gonna miss this one when it’s gone.
The minigame is great! The flipping afk’ers are not. They completely ruin a game. If you ask me, they need to add in a short minimum movement requirement (like less than 10seconds) and requires more than a couple keystrokes. After there is no momvement, it kicks you out of the game.

slight hijack here but what has become of the consecrated podcast? I keep updating the podcast app on my phone and have not seen a guardian podcast in a few weeks. I keep getting “But of Corpse”, “Mesmerized”, and the new warrior, thief, engineer, and elementalist but no guardian. This makes me a little sad as I main a guardian and really enjoyed that show.

Now Guardians autoattacking with a staff in a 1v1? See that kitten all the time, and man are they easy kills lol.
I can see where this would be a problem. People switch over to staff to get #4 off and then are stuck with the staff until the swap cooldown is gone. It’s one of the reasons I don’t use staff too often.
Using 2 on the staff would actually have a higher single target damage return.
So you just sit around waiting for #2 cool down to finish? Sure it’s quick, but you can also get a few #1’s in there. O.o

I think the rate of fire on #1 is fine. I don’t want another machine gun bow (shortbow). Damage however, should be increased.
I also feel that #2 should be completely scraped and be replaced with a high damage single shot, like an explosive arrow or something.
Just seeing a lot of hate here, so in an appreciation post, I think the Dragon Bash event is pretty neat! Thanks for adding it to the game, Devs.

You could always jsut try using a trans stone and see if it works. You can cancel the change before commiting to it. My guess though, you can transmute it to any backpiece you want. Just becareful of upgrading via the Mystic Forge. You can lose your skin that way. If you gonna do that, just get a whole new back piece to upgrade, upgrade it, and then transmute afterwards.
