Disaster!
What word would you use?

Where to rondevu after escaping from LA?

There should be a portal leaving from the Heart of the Mists to somewhere in Tyria, like in the Vigil Keep.

Where to rondevu after escaping from LA?

Lion’s Arch is the most important traffic hub in the game. Where should we rondevu after the escape?
Should we all go to Divinity’s Reach?
FA
The reason I liked the updated is because I was happy to meet many players enjoying the game, just like at the launch of GW2. I liked discussion over strategies with TeamSpeak voice chat. Unlike WvW, I did not feel like an outsider at Blackgate and Blackgate Overflow doing the events because most of us were guesting from other servers and members of different guilds.
FA
I finally played both Wurms and the Marionette events. We guessed to BG and succeeded Marionette twice and failed once (the first time) and killed Blue (cobalt) wurm twice and failed orange twice and red once. It is a fun update and I liked it. Thx Anet.

Flying dolyak mounts… confirmed?

FA
They are happy to get your money but they also need players to populate the world. No one wants to play in an empty zone; it just is not fun. You probably left a less populated server. Population depletion is vicious cycle with little cure.
FA
Everything looks so familiar in the video. I can close eyes and see how it would be played out.
FA
Half of the Elemental staff skills and some of the scepter skills are skillets. They are useless without motion impediment skills. It must be by design and there isn’t even an official quantity to quantify how many seconds a Dragon Tooth hangs before impact. It takes at least 3 seconds and a chilled foe can walk out the impact radius with no damage at all.
For the above reason, people tried to use daggers.

Please convince me that I should care to play it.

So many fun comments in the following thread,
“Something big is coming in 2014”

Thx for the rules. Does the current post break any rules?
FA
I have rephrased my post. I am learning the rules here.
FA
I want to read the responses of the community regarding the Manifesto and the original thread was deleted before I had chance to read them. So I am posting it again.
FA
I did not want offend anyone, apologies.
Nevertheless, I don’t understand why the original post was trashed by the forum monitor so quickly. I did not even read most of the responses.
The original vision in the Manifesto is superior in my opinion.
FA
I really like the “Guild Wars 2 Design Manifesto” posted on April 27, 2010.
What is vision for a good game, everyone should read it.

I also like following in “how ArenaNet Measures Success” posted on June 19, 2012.
“If our model was subscription based, we might be spending all this time racing to add as much filler content as possible to keep players chasing the carrot, but as content designers with the goal of making fun, we get to spend this time refining our content and making it amazing. As designers this is both liberating and refreshing in an industry where so rarely do developers get time from publishers to actually polish their games. (High-five, NCsoft!)”

The quote is from “Guild Wars 2 Design Manifesto” by Mike O’Brien on April 27, 2010.

It made playing an elementalist seems really fun.
Why did they change from the Manifesto?
FA
“An Elementalist can cast Fire Wall next to an opponent, and then switch to Water attunement, which freezes all enemies around him. Using the concussive force of Water Trident, he can slam his frozen enemy into the Fire Wall, leaving him to roast in the flames.”
Was this even possible?
FA
Why is everyone appearing offline?
People who enjoyed GW 1 are not necessary going to enjoy GW 2. Not every sequel is as good as the original and there are many examples in the entertainment history. Watched “The Matrix” on blu-ray and still enjoyed it from the begin to the end, but only watched first 10 minutes of “The Matrix Reloaded” and always tried to avoid “The Matrix Revolution”, did not like “Return of the Jedi” of the “Star Wars” trilogy either, while “The Empire Strikes Back” was the best of the three.
FA
Of course, none of us are slaves.
FA
Would 1 shotting everything be more fun than getting scaled down? You still keep all your equipment traits and skills you just are scaled down to a competitive level for the enemies around you to still make the content challenging.
It could be fun. For challenges, one could go to higher level zones.
If scaling did not exist you could solo all dungeons that do not require group mechanics and you might want to do this but it is unhealthy for the game. By solo I mean completely roflstomp. I can only assume the other part of the post refers to ascended equipment. Ascended is how devs planned exotics to be in the beginning but they were acquired far too easily which is why ascended is introduced now. Time playing != potential money earned so the comparison is pointless.
We paid for the game, a game of entertainment. I want to be entertained. I don’t believe that forcing players to work certain way is called entertainment. It is called slavery. I would like to have options to solo if I want to. I like to have places where one shot can work on everything. It is called serving the clients. Login in the Guild Wars 2 it like going to work at a job now. We are clients of Anera Net and we do not work for Guild Wars 2.
What job can you find that pays you minimum wage for your time at a computer in your free time? If it’s not at your home than travel costs and time also have to be considered. Would you work in your free time if you weren’t playing this game or find something else fun to do?
Well, you obviously did not look hard enough for a job. The time you spend in the game could be the time you spent learning Java, or doing Yoga, or just have walk with your friends, family or pets, or just cleanup your room. All of them are more rewarding than in a game were achievements are meaningless a few years unless you are working with your physical friends in GW2. Then I am concerned about the lingering effects of been constantly exposed to the flashing lights of the game. I don’t want mine friends to go through this.
I don’t mind playing Zork with my friends because it actually challenges players to think. Here, it is a training ground for slaves.
FA
Are you having fun when you play? Don’t sweat the metas, don’t let things like ascended gear force you down a path you don’t want to go, just go do something you enjoy. If you find ways to have fun then yes, it’s worth investing more time into. If not, then it doesn’t really make sense to play a game you’re not having fun playing. Just keep in mind there are many different ways to play the game, so at least consider options you may not have at first (WvW as an example) instead of quitting without trying all there is to offer. (For WvW and a whole new experience, hook on with a WvW centric guild and run with them. The difference is night and day compared to “pugging” along.)
No one here can decide if you’re having fun but you. In that light, all our opinions are really worth a whole lot of not much.
Yes, I try to have fun in the game. Some of WvW guilds appear to be really serious. I am still not sure if I would like to make the time commitment since I already spent so much time in GW1.
No one here can decide if you’re having fun but you. In that light, all our opinions are really worth a whole lot of not much.
So much this.
Step back, *determine what you find fun, determine if GW2 offers you that ‘fun,’ and go from there.
Do not let others dictate your play…
Curiosity can be fun. I am curious about today’s update.
FA
I’m having a difficult time understand what you’re talking about to be honest.
Sorry about that.
I was reviewing my Guild Wars experience and justifying time spent in the game. Now, there is very little value for the 4155 hours, equivalent to 173 days or about half a year of my life, spent in GW1. So I was looking into whether I should invest more time in GW2?
FA
Well, it pumps out bunch of casual content with the living stories, it is pretty much like holly day events. Kill 200 mobs for achievement A, do a personal story for achievement B. But I would not expect any end game content if thats what your after…
Yes.
This game has little appreciation of the time players invested in the game. It keeps on demolishing players’ accomplishments and forcing them to lower levels, just like levels scaling down at a lower level zone. This type of nerfing appeared in all aspects of the game in zone scaling, dungeons, pvps, skills, and gears. And the biggest nerf is how little value GW2 gives to the time invested by players in GW1. This leaves a sense of deception when new items are introduced and the suspicion that obsolescence is already being planned as new items being released.
For the time I have put in the game, 4,495 hours, one could have earned $32,588.75 USD at $7.25USD minimum wage.
FA
Originally, it was because I was a GW1 fan. I played 4155 hours over 56 months in GW1, averaging 74 hours a month. I enjoyed the GW2 for about two months after the launch and slowed down afterwards and I have not played for 27 days. In total, I spent about 340 hours online on GW2 since late Aug of 2012, an average about 22 hours a month. I had a chance to play GW2 tonight, but I did Yoga instead. I still have temptations to play GW2, but then everything in the game seems so familiar that I can just close eyes and see how the game would be played out.
FA
Maybe the “guild only” zerg can guest or move to a less populated server to avoid offending people.

More time on the Forum. So much fun here.
This forum is the Guild Wars 2 Legacy.
A mind game between censorship and freedom.

People are not posting videos because the promotion gives the impression that Guild Wars 2 will be a free to play game soon. And people don’t want be dishonest for $40. Not everyone thinks like Guild Wars 2 developers.

It is a shame that there are so many fun posts buried in this forum. If you find something funny, please add here. Hopefully, it can give everyone a smile.

Just by reading the forum, one can sense that many here are intelligent and creative while currently the game is counting on envy and greed to motivate people to play. This is one of the reasons why Guild Wars 2 is losing players.

Like I wrote, it just feels like something is missing in guild wars 2…
What’s missing in Guild Wars 2?
Players.
FA
Last time I played, for about 2 hours, was on the Nov 12th after the release of “The Nightmares Within”, and last time I logged in the game was on Nov 26th for about 10 minutes testing out some updated traits.
Watched “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” during the holiday where Philip Seymour Hoffman played a game maker, Plutarch Heavensbee, in the movie who was sort of “a master of the universe”. Maybe Arena Net can get some inspiration.
I still visit the forum because many of you are full of wit and some the posts are funny.

After reading the replies, I can feel the caring and understanding from some of you. Thanks. I always believed that GW community has many intelligent, understanding, warm and caring players. It is your kind and thoughtful actions in and out the game brings pleasures in this otherwise tedious world mad with greed. Whether it is a well planned attack of a foe or a helping hand to others, these actions bring fun and happiness to life.
Here are some pictures of my pet.

Thank you all for your kind advice.

One should define a term for the delay impact effect of many skills.
In GW2, the normal forward movement speed is 300 units per second and in combat 210. Being 66% slower, a chilled foe in combat moves 71 units per sec. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Movement_speed
A chilled foe can move 214 units in 3 seconds. “Dragon’s tooth” has a 180 radius and 1 sec casting time. Then that horrible tooth hangs there for at least 3 seconds to warn foes to walk away. When it finally hits, the total damage to intended foes are often 0.000000.
