When was FA not Cancer? Maybe like 3 years ago? And from what I heard last night (4 people that are on FA) it has got even worse int he past couple of months…
Curious as to examples of why? We talking Team Chat? Prevalent community members?
I’m kidding. My main is on FA and I quite enjoy the atmosphere during the times I play (PST & early OCX).
From what I’m told sometimes there’s a bit of drama during NA, but those kitten stirrers exist on most of the servers.~ Kovu

Transferring has been destroying WvW communities.
Neither queues nor transferring are effective at retaining player interests.
An alternative solution is increasing server capacity and bandwidth to meet player demands.

Unlinking the servers would reduce queues after the June 6th update.

After Dev learned WvW could be so much fun, they were went to work on HOT.

When the excited players came to the new map and expected to repeat the fun,

Hopefully, the HOT could be a constructive experience for the next expansion.
Factions, the first expansion to GW was sort of like HOT, featuring more of a 3D type of maps with levels. The next expansion, Night Fall has a different style of maps, more flat.

because it seems requiring a lot of time and effort to learn not been defeated easily.
It is a contest of time and effort where some players just have a lot more than others.

Anet needs to do more to encourage guild-centric play in WvW.
Why?
HoT encouraged guild-centric plays by introducing guild hall, guild arena, war room upgrades, and removal of guild influence, etc.
It encourages the formation of larger guilds because of the time and effort required for many of the upgrades.
Are these changes working out as intended? Or more time is still need to measure thier impact?

My guess is that the ArenaNet tag has special meaning to players.
I am sure players love to see developers playing their own game,
but seeing the developer’s tag could be distracting to others.
Distracting, it’s true. Also, “target creating.” I’ve been there, done that, many, many times. If you’re wearing the flair, you’re going to be a target. There have been times I’ve spent more time taking dirt naps than contributing to a fight, and I even tell people when we party up that they should expect to carry my corpse if I’m tagged. It’s all good — we know it’s likely when we tag up. (Whisper: If I can be the distracting factor that leads to my team’s victory, it’s alll good. )

instead of playing as a ranger which could be expected to be carry out as a corpse

Maybe API should be turned off because it was acting like a mega matchup thread.
And it reduces the values of roamers and scouts by reporting map information outside the in game playing experience.
It also confirms any complains about imbalance in the game to the public and upsetting empathic players on other tiers.
One reason to restore API could be that it could promote server transfers by advertising certain servers and their strength.

World vs. World
General
- Being killed while outnumbered no longer grants any war score to the enemy team.
- All siege devices and traps have been changed to gizmos that are consumed once they are placed.
- This change was made to help solve bugs in which siege devices and traps weren’t being granted back properly when they weren’t placed.
- Siege bundles now stay in your hands until players drop, cancel, or run out of siege.
- Changed the Potion of Ascalonian Mages to work similarly to combat tonics. The transformation now allows for all player skills to be used. The transformation is removed after 30 minutes. Clicking the potion again will remove the transformation.
Alpine Borderlands
- Garrison’s back gate that enters the lord’s room now has secured, reinforced, and fortified states like all other gates.
Desert Borderlands
- Removed the floating gargoyle at the Shrine of Fire.

The damages by AoE could be dramatically reduced with mobility, spacing and positioning; AoE damages are capped by radius.
Currently, with everyone staying together, it is difficult to see skill animations. By bring spacing into play, it would most likely increase the skill level of the game.

Since some AoE capped at 3 and PvP is 5 v 5, AoE is not unlimited in PvP.
Removing AoE cap in WvW would increase the diversity of battlefield formation. Right now, the optimal formation is a dot for almost every situation. Maybe players would spread out if AoE is only capped by radius.

What inspired me to buy this game in the first place was seeing 5 elementalists fend off an entire zerg of about 10 times their size. Right now that is unimaginable, but believe me it happened. Why was this awesome? Precisely because it was chaotic, and CHAOS IS FUN.

Capping AoE at 3 or 5 makes sense for PvP. But for WvW, hitting 5 out 40 in a Zerg is like scratching the surface, not even sure if AoE did any damages. This basically creates the current situation where population over powers skills.
This could be easily changed by increasing AoE caps in WvW and balancing them separetlly from PvP.

Some appear to agree that this could simply because the last re-linking did not generate enough transfers with many servers closed and the demand for the other open servers was too low.
