Edit: Atm it seems better ranked get more tomes and scrolls and a few more green or blue gear or other crafing stuff. Hopefully not that much more World Exp(weak servers need this to get stronger!) and not more Dolyaks lol.

Please post your league(gold, silver or bronze), the rank of your server and the rewards you got so we can compare(and can be happy or not that hopefully the better ranked servers did not get too much more rewards for better coverage).

I’ll start:

EU Silver League, 9th ranked(Underworld)

Rewards:
-1 Mini Dolyak
-3 Tastes of Liquid World Experience (came as 2 stacks according to log (1 + 2))
-100 Dragonite Ore
-100 Empyreal Fragments
- 5 Scrolls of Knowledge (5 stackes, each 1)
- 5 Tomes of Knowledge (5 stacks each 1)
- 1 Essence of Luck (Legendary, 500 Luck)

I also had 1 “Berseker Rifle” blue level 80 item at the log. Don’t know if it was from the chest or from some other stuff because I was pveing and getting a lot of loot.

No I’m seriously telling the truth and everyone already knows about the problem.

ArenaNet would be trolling if they gave huge reward to the winning server and only small rewards to the lower placed servers because nobody likes it if you get less rewards for doing more “work”.

I don’t think so. Would make no sense if they only allowed a small group and then said “okay finished” then release it with the tons of bugs the small group could not find. Even if they say finished the first few weeks would feel like open beta(like with everything else ArenaNet releases – we all know it already from experiences from the past). Would be better to officially call it open beta first then.

What's wrong about League1 achievs

I’m still missing 45 achievement points. Last 2 tiers of Dolyak. Last tier of Ruins. Last tier of sentries. Last tier of merc camps.

Just got boring in the last few matchups when there was still time enough to finish it. Most of my server stopped playing WvW already and I just decided to ignore the achievements even though there wre only few left. As long as I have the meta it is fine.

And that is the biggest problem: If they give to winning server a lot more rewards then people that only are playing for achievements get some bigger rewards and maybe have only played the first matchup. People at other servers that played all the time WvW for real and for fun(and barely managed to do the achievements because they do other usefull stuff like scouting which is not giving achievements) might be on lower server and get less rewards even though they have “worked” a lot more.

Thoughts on the Silver League

The silver league is a big problem because there are gold vs. bronze servers fighting against each other. At least at EU because a lot of people transferred and the servers in the middle which are silver got either stronger or weaker and are misplaced in the ranking(cause of that last minute transfers – transfers shoudl have been disabled weeks befor starting season).

If they really make a 2nd season then only 2 leagues. Or 4 leagues. Not 3 leagues… because it also will be boring for servers at top(bronze) or bottim(gold) of leagues to always pwn(gold) or get pwned(bronze). With a different numbers of leagues the people that were on top or bottom would be in a different position.

But I still hope they abolish leagues. Old system was much better. Just lets make the tier system again lol. Was same as leagues only that you hat (number of servers)/3 leagues instead of only 3 leagues.

Are there any 500 man guilds you can join and then go to the map? Or is the access given to players that are in those guilds when the guild applied and not to guilds(so you can’t join and then automatically have access to the map)?

And when will it be “open”(to test for everyone)?

Is it already in and will be send out automatically this evening? Or will we have to wait until next patch at tuesday?

I guess everyone will get the chest per mail to avoid problems we had in the past(where some people got stuff and some did not and they had to send out a 2nd time) and then only the people with key from meta achievement can unlock it?

I want to see these rewards this evening. If the winning sever really gets a lot more and bigger rewards I also might transfer. Yeah we need time to arrang mass transfers then. Also we need a dev to officially promise that the rewards will be same next season.

Because it would be a problem if everyone transfered because of big rewards and then they said “okay a lot of people whined, this time we give smaller rewards” – then they would have a lot of support tickets from people that want to transfer back to their old servers for free because of false promised big rewards.

Of course this won’t happen if the rewards today already are not that big and different.

Need a way to use the old glory boosters or convert them to some other stuff. I already have 250 at the locker and some at inventory. Because I only play 3 matches a day for achievements I always forget to use them… and then I get 1 more and more and more. And sometimes they also dropped from chests.

If you remove glory let us convert them to some other items. A little bit karma maybe or luck.

Arghh… too bad. I should have waited. But I’m not buying gems again only for some quaggan back item. Don’t need gems and don’t need that back item. Good thing they announce this stuff early. I hope they will do the same in the future. Then I’ll buy the next gems at next rewards they give early next year when I might need some gems again.

Other than some non-movable environmental object where you can use weapons to shoot nothing can happen. I don’t think the engine can handle larger movable objects. In our personal storyline we already have seen it… all bigger tanks and ships are not moving. They stay somewhere and you man the cannons.

I only do the daily achievements for WvW atm. If there will be a season 2 I’ll do season achievements and then after that every day only daily achievements for killing, capping. Then I’m off again.

If they want me to play more they need to offer more. ArenaNet needs to start fixing the WvW instead of introducing more imbalancing and crap which leads only to ruin and a lot of players leaving and uninstalling that game from their harddisk.

If ArenaNet does not start to take it seriously why should players take it seriously then? I don’t know…

Every sane person would anser this question with “no”. Getting farmed permanently or farming permanently without balanced matchups is not fun. The old matchup system was much much much better. And everyone knows it. Just need to wait for ArenaNet to accept their failure and come to post and declare that there never will be seasons again.

The main problem is that you get a lot of imbalanced matchups because bronze servers fight against gold servers – and that only because the gave cheap transfers before and did not lock the transfers while running league.

Of course the old ranking 1-9 = gold, 10-18 = silver is wrong then if the all players transfered.

ArenaNet did not think players would use a feature of the game ha ha. (= server transfers) … a bit fail huh

Boring matchup again. I hope Friday will be back to more fun with the old matchup system so Underworld can rank down and maybe again Vabbi if we rank down enough it will be balanced. (And Far Shiverpeaks might rank up into gold niveau)

UI graphics loading slowly

In the past I always had trouble with the environment and loading times. Most of the time this only was if there were a lot of players on a map. Mostly in Lion’s Arch where it took ages to load some bridges or NPCs and buildings.

At some point in the past this had been fixed I think. Don’t notice this problem atm.

But now the UI stuff is loading slower – maybe there is a changed priority for loading stuff? Like event the medal icon and the “x” to close that info is loading slow sometimes. Some skill icons after I change to a kit(engineer) and especially at inventory sometimes after logging in to that char it takes ages for inventory icons to appear.

I think the toxic guilds he is talking about were helping the server most – more than his guild. I remember some Wolfstrike Thief guy that always was scouting and talking in chat about the enemy movement. I think he was from guild RAIN which left… and if we look at one of the previous matchup threads we see some nice conversation between him and members of RAIN. It seems there were a lot of personal problems between him and guild members of guilds that left. And I don’t think you can blame it all on the members of that guilds. That conversation about bounty on his head was fun to read. Lol.

And then talking about WvW elitism and the toxic guilds that brought it… I don’t know if this makes our server interesting for other guilds if there are guys like him. People want to play a bit serious and defend stuff and this is “elitism” then?

TL;DR:

  • UW population is sad and quite heart breaking at the moment
  • Quick dashes don’t do that much good overall
  • Quick dashes rise morale a bit though on the casual players, though

What especially rises the moral is a fully upgraded keep at EB(and mayb if we can get a 2nd map with people a garrison at our home BL). I think some people learned to go WP first before fortify(which is waste of supply and takes ages). Still sometimes people do fortify first. We need to go for WP as soon as players are online to defend the corner… like in previous matchups where it worked(but there were more players online). Then you can go do some dashes… as long as it takes no people away from EB(if this was the case I’d better recommend to stay on EB and cap SM or something). Also I myself don’t think capping some stuff on enemy borderlands and then moving to next is much fun. Sure it is fun to reset some T3 stuff… but would be more fun then to upgrade it ourself and camp in there defending it for a long time(instead of moving to next thing on the map while eneme recaps the other).

And those “dashes” are only really fun with some fun commander. I know people(especially Bloodstealer) complain about Archi and how he often takes people away from other maps and supply and building golems. But he can motivate the people with chat and talking. It is more fun than reading RF in chat.

I apologize to ranik and AG for having to see this, unfortunately on UW we have a problem with a minority of players like blood and luthan here known as “forum warriors” who spend their time slating the effort of everyone else on UW who are actually organising :P There are 2 kinds of people I find, those who whine nonstop about nothing being how they want, and those who actually do something about it :P im sure you can guess which of us 3 belongs in which group.

Underworld is not as bad as they make out, we just dont have the numbers for every map and enough players from other timezones to cover each timezone outside of peak. Also players with the attitude that theres no point trying dont help either :P

And I apologize to the other servers for having to read that crap you are writing here. You almost never are in WvW. Only sometimes to do an event… then posting everywhere “omg omg, I am the greatest, I did an event, I saved the server”. And that only because you like the attention and want the other people to thank you(same reason you made that Underworld Community website).

Reality is different: Nobody besides that 50-60 PvE players that joined to farm their achievements cares about these events. Now they did the achievements and we got some more PPT for few hours. Not helping that much. All the other days outmanned again. If you really want to do something make it a rule in your guild that all players have to play a few hours WvW every day(best at night when more people are needed). Not only some PvE events once every few weeks.

And nobody here is whining. I told already it was fun against Deso(when a lot of people still played and not only because of some PvE event). And we also where outmanned on all other maps besides EB. But the matchup still was fun. If I wanted to whine I would post “omg omg omg omg we are losing every matchup boring, even the fun matchup against Deso was not fun becaus we lose and losing always is not fun”.

The only one with a problem is you because you always try to tell everyone how great you and your events are.

Lol. At my server(and the 2 other servers in matchup) shortly after patch there were only people zerging at the start near the WPs. Didn’t even bother trying to find that new place with all that zerging near spawn.

Underworld looks like heaven for WvW Guilds that play EU primetime. Do you guys have any queues on any zone?

Back in the past we had enough people to fill 2 maps – EB and our home BL. At reset and primtime weekend we had maybe like 2-3 hours after that(and at other days primetime) queues on this 2 maps. Like 10-15 minutes maybe. Later this was only at reset day(not at other weekend days) and only <5 minutes queue.

At league then when a lot of guilds had left we only had people for 1 map max. Only at EB a queue <5 min and only for 1-2 hours after reset day… later week no queues. Queues on enemy BL sometimes happned but also only <5 minutes… and only if some commander took people away from EB to go there cap stuff(then on EB outnumbered).

At the moment most PvE players left. I think there is max 20-40 people at EB atm and less than 10 at other maps. Not more players playing. No queue at all – not even after reset. Not even 1 minute. No queue. Especially not during night and early afternoon weekdays european timezone. … maybe a bit more atm when I look at Millenium website because we have our corner EB and some of our BL.. but that might also be because of less attackers there and only few of our guys can recap. Not because we have lots of people lol.

Yeah VcY guild.. same guild I have seen several warriors running round this matchup with “surprisingly good” dmg/condition invulnerability and ability to stealth at will when spotted by a group.. I will be sure to get a screenie next time or maybe FRAP them…. not that its worth the hassle cos we all know ANET does nowt anyway.

Dishonorable and Honorable players

Dishonorable players are people who….
-run from a fair fight but turn around when the odds turn in their favor
- will laugh at you after beating you even if you put up a valiant effort in your fight
- will interupt duels
- use and abuse the flavor of the month meta without any kind of custom twist to it
-laugh/mock you after beating you while they outnumbered you but would turn down any 1 on 1 offer

It’s war. Of course you can run from a “fair” fight. Because the goal is to win – especially in WvW where there are longer ways to walk and armor repair cost. sPvP it is different. Laughing is also good. Valid strategy to make the enemy rage… maybe some will quit then. Good if some annoying roamers try to kill your Dolyaks. And of course you will interrupt duels then – makes no sense to watch. You help kill the enemy = you help your server. Not helping = traitor and helping the enemy. It’s good to help kill the enemy. Then /laugh – maybe he will be kitten ed then because you laughed… and stop coming.

But still the most fun is if they camp you at spawn and then accidentally some run into legendary defenders. Lol. Of course you also laugh here – they have repair cost while you are outnumbered and can just fight then and lure them back to the legendary defenders if they are stupid enough.

Honorable players are people who…
-fight to the death in a 1 on 1
-don’t interupt 1 on 1’s even if it isn’t a duel as long as the fight is on fair grounds (not against an upleveled)
-never laugh or mock anyone who doesn’t flat out deserve it
-Sometimes fight without running even against the odds
-Uses a build not straight off of google that you came up with on your own or at least has some custom twist to it so it isn’t exactly by the book and has noticeable difference
-may choose not to stomp someone or may choose to /salute or /bow to someone who offered an interesting battle.

Honorable players are playing sPvP on a Custom Arena passworded so only 2 can duel there and no one else can play. All other game modes it is intended to kill the enemy as efficiently as possible.

Capturing while lord is still alive

If you revive the circle disappears. Changing colors is only if some enemies are in(it has the color of the defending team then – if no defenders inside it takes the color of attackers).

I think what you mean is the capture bar. This does not reset. But afaik it only is a display bug – if lord gets killed again it starts at 0 again.

Must be a bug. You can’t cap if lord is alive. Circle should not appear then. Or maybe it is really intended and possible to cap if lord is alive but outside the circle? But then it would be too easy – 1 person could just pull the lord and all guards while a 2nd person stays in circle.

And I know from camps where I ran away and supervisor followed me (and he must have been outside the circle area) that no circle appears.

This almost seems like current matchup of Underworld atm. Lol. But at least we had some better matchups last weeks where we could upgrade and hold our EB corner every weekday(after recapping after enemy night cap). So it was fine.

Most boring matchup for UW. Seems all got bored and most did all achievements already and left… I had more fun(also we had more players online – this time only max 20 at primetime at weekend lol) against Deso and AM. Seems more people were motivated or just a lot of achievement players online back then.

I might as well stop playing too until season is finished. Or just doing some remaining Dolyak kills and daily achievement for laurel. Then off. Still have other games to play and other classes to level. Let’s just farm our UW keep back and forth for WXP this and next matchup. Best ideas since we can’t do much atm.

Feels like Bronze server vs. gold server. We probably would even have trouble in Bronze league now. From middle silver niveau we are middle bronze now. Not lowest silver or highest in bronze.

Yes I’d say it was a disappointment. We constantly got boring matchups instead of fun matchups with the normal usualy matchup system before.

Only think that would make up for this are hopefully the rewards where the lowest ranked servers also get some nice rewards for fighting. If they make too big differences in reward and reward the high coverage servers then no doubt a lot of people will leave the game – fighting for your server at low ranked server and fighting more than others at a high coverage server where some people might only play minimum to get achievements and then some big reward… that should not happen.

Strongest 1 vs. 1 class?

I also think it is the Mesmer which is strongest. I saw one Mesmer yesterday that kited like 5 or 10 of your guys. Especially if they have that weapons which have Clones stuff as autoattack they can permanently keep clones up which makes it impossible to hit them with single tarted directly targeted stuff. It just all gets bodyblocked. And they can stealth and port a lot and change locations with those Clones. He just ran around and youl could not kill him. He probably wasn’t strong enough to stay and encounter like 2 of us… but if it was only 1 of us he killed him fast with that build.

Thief is not a problem. At least he can be CCed for some amount of time when he comes out of stealth and you can get some hits until he disappears(of course if he is good he will just run away).

Surely it couldn’t just be a poopy finisher and another chest with some dragonite ore and a green item in it. That would just be silliness!

That would be the right thing. 100 gold would be too much. Otherwise they would have to give all the other servers the same amount… or like 99 gold, 98 gold a bit less.

Certainly they can’t just go and say “hi, high coverage server and guy that played minimum amount to get the achievements – here free 100 gold, … high low coverage server player that fought a lot and played a lot and did a lot of work for his server: you are getting 1 gold, your server is crap, your individual performance does not matter”.

If they did it like this then it would be for 100 percent sure the last season. Cause next season we only would have 1 server then. All would transfer to winner server(hoping a few seasons winning would make enough gold only from winning to make win after subtracting the gem/gold transfer cost). Only 1 server then! Not fun. They could just shut down WvW then.

Yeah I agree. With group it really is easy to revive and kill enemies. Noticed this when I ran with group instead of running past enemies. Much easier and you take less damage even though you stay longer in that toxic debuff.

Yeah that “mines” especially are a problem at spider queen where they get spawned fast while people AoEing the queen are just standing there and then a lot get downed… when it is so easy to just move around and avoid them(but still a bit harder with other people triggering them).

I’d say 2 weeks from next tuesday or 3 weeks from this last tuesday(yesterday). Or maybe 1 week more. (From looking at that bar – seems like about 25 percent full after 1 week → so whole bar would take 4-5 weeks).

I think Wintersday will also be at Dec 10th? And then maybe some special limited stuff at 24th – like at Halloween that Mad King Says which only was available for 1-2 days.

Don’t think new traits and skills and stuff will be that soon… if they want to make a big balance patch at Dec 10 they already have enough work with balancing the existing skills and traits. Can’t bring new ones then.

I also would like to have some “templates” first(so you can easier save traits builds and stuff and change between them).

Will there be time limited achievements? Or only new permanent content so that people that don’t do fractals can ignore it without missing anything(and then do stuff later if they want)?

I’d prefer it there were no time limited stuff. Maybe this would also make sense because we still have Toxic Alliance stuff which seems to need more time to finish? (As the bar is progressing now 4 weeks – 3 weeks more maybe so just the next 2 weeks that other fractal release will take now).

Can you please make it so that the camera view direction does not change when interacting with siege? (Maybe an option in the menu). Apparently it changes so you look in the direction the siege is facing… which is annoying when you just walk past some sieges to refresh and then after you stopped using them for 1 sec you face in another direction and need to turn camera to move forward to next siege(if a lot of siege are facing in different directions). A bit annoying I think… and main reason why often just walk past and don’t refresh.

What about Settler’s gear? I have playeds mostly with power so far. For some open world where it is zergy(like that tower atm) I always liked bombs with the healing. But still used my rifle for a bit CC.

I heard with the upcoming patch the elixir infused bombs would scale a bit better? wanted to try something with condition in WvW. Would it be possible to use Settler’s gear(with high toughness, conditon and healing) + pistols and super elixir and bomb kit + some third utility skill? And just using both – elixir gun and bombs – to get some additional healing? (In zerg fight, outside of zergs more elixir gun and the pistols)?

That’s what I thought… about boon duration + maybe CD recuding trait. It also affects allies, right(including your pet)? I still have a green warhorn super skin and want to use it.

Is the warhorn any better on other classes? I mean only 3 classes, only 2 skills. Warrior seems to have lower CD, Necro also a high CD.

Necro seems to only affect 1 target(the boons). Boring. And high CD. Warrior seems more interesting. Lower CD. Also affects allies. And a bit more defensive. But I think for Warrior there is too much other weapons to use so I might not use it there(still leveling that class).

I’d prefer if that damage skill at Ranger also was something defensive or boon or condition removal like with Warrior. Would be more interesting. Especially in small groups(where probably the 5 is interesting also because of the finisher). High CD on 5 might be needed because of the fury. But 4 could be lower. Really boring and low damage.

Silver mobs at Dolyak routes? Must be rare then. Did not see any of them. I don’t even think there were veterans. Still a few annoying normal mobs that are stronger than the usual small 2 npc mobs.

I think they could even trouble the Dolyak if there were guards hired. And without guards you need to stay… at the other small npcs you could run there a bit late.

Event can be solod easier(will take less time due to buggy upscaling making it impossible with zerg). I think then the Toxic guys won’t spawn to attack Dolyaks(only if event is progressing or failed).

You don’t need 3-5 man. Still it is annoying if you are on a server and nobody else is paying attention to Dolyaks. Then more work for you.

Then melee weapons like hammer for engineer as well. Also ranger = using ranged weapons. Not necessarily something about nature and stuff only. A lot of other games don’t even have pets for rangers(at last not permanently deployed).

Is my rating also adjusted by my teammates?

We don’t really know the rating and differences in the rating. Only the rank. I’m sure for high ranked people it will be harder to find people in their rating range… because there might be just less players in that range. For example a top world champion in some sports might have trouble finding persons that are strong enough to play in his league.

I think there should be more motivation besides the usual rewards. This also goes for WvW. If WvW your server is outnumbered on certain maps maybe there should be some indicator at the WvW icon in the top menu bar(also maybe some free MF buff if you join while this – additonal to the outnumbered buff there).

Same for sPvP. If there is long queue time and people around with same rating as you ar queing but still not enough it should somehow encourage you while outside doing other stuff you might just click there and queue while more players are needed. Also somehow it should be tied to rewards.

Tutorial… I don’t know. I don’t think there needs to be a special tutorial. There is already a lot of stuff at heart of the mists to train against NPCs from some maps and use sieges.

Maybe there should be some training map where you just could walk around the map without other players(like in tournamend then it is in warmup mode) to get to know the map. Tournament warmup might not be enough… and hotjoin I think there is not enough time between matches and the zergy match won’t give you time to look at the map. Only option is to buy Custom Arena and only join yourself and walk slowly and look at the map.

For some maps like temple the buff timers should be explained in explanation text.

Edit: And I don’ think there should be preset builds – will only get players to just use these builds instead of trying on their own(which is more fun and helps you understanding how the game works).

I agree – some stuff like conditions and stats is hard to understand if you are completely new(and never tried any other game mode) and never read the wiki since there is no real manual that lists all the formulas. Only Wiki info made by players that changes a lot with patches.

Is there a condition or boon duration limit? Or could you really stack it up to like 5 minutes(if it gets not removed by other things while reapplying with skills that have shorter cd thatn the amount of time they apply)?

Or was this limit only on stuff like immobilize(which I heard they want remove now so you can stack to like 20 seconds)?
