The exotic fractal capacitor bought from the FOTM merchant in fact do NOT have an upgrade slot for a rune. Weird, but it’s been this way since they were released.
The best choice is to get one, and then ascend it via the MF to get ascended stats and an infusion slot.
The only problem with this method is you need 1 vial of condensed mist essence which only drops from fractals and sometimes are pretty hard to come by.
I’ve done karka queen nearly twice a day every day for the past week or two. Guesting over to a higher populated server to farm ori/ancient wood and getting some temples and karka queen in while I am at it.
The updated rewards for her are pretty nice. I’ve gotten 6 of those settler inscription recipes already. Account bound and nothing else to do with them at this point but to delete!
The settler inscriptions that drop are nice, but do indeed require the 5 globs still. At the very least, this saves you the 5 orichalcum plated dowels and 5 T6 materials.
I’m on a low population server, and it is rarely done there. I guest over to a higher populated server and get my temples in along with the fire shaman and karka queen that way.
CM, TA, and HOTW dungeon weapons with Rabid stats. Salvage for a rare chance.
Or any other exotic drop with those stats.
There is (soldier), but they are not craftable. They are salvageable from exotic drops that have those stats and from dungeon weapons with those stats. Dungeons with soldier’s weapons are AC, SE, and HOTW.

As it has been said, temples are the best as they yield 30 per. The dragons/golem/fire shaman all yield a good amount also (20 or so).
You can do temples on multiple toons each day if you have alts. I can get 180 dragonite ore per day just by doing 3 temples on 2 toons. Dwayna, Lyssa, and Melandru are high on my list of to do things everyday while out farming ori/ancient wood.
Guesting to a high pop server is a great way to get these temples done. And the world bosses. Some servers have been flipping the temples on a regular basis as they come up.
The karka queen also gives 30 and she is being done regularly on high populated servers also. Beware of the overflow for this one, though.
For about 5 gold, you can creat a guild and create a personal guild stash (bank) that will hold 50 items.
Cheaper than a new bank tab via gems.
Another 40 gold for upgrading to an additional 100 slot treasure trove.
At 5 gold per 100 gems, it would cost 30 gold to get an additional 30 slot bank tab. A personal guild bank is a far better value.
Its because force is better than a proc which cant crit and has an ICD. Cant believe it took this long for people to realise how bad the sigil was.
Agree with above, many sigils where high in price still like Sigil of Strength etc they stayed high in price because people still thought they where good. Now the Rune and Sigil market has been jumbled at bit and the better sigils are actually at a higher value(outside of the expensive to craft ones like perplexity etc.)
Sigil of force took a while to reach 1g it use to be low for a while same with accuracy(which is still a bit lower than it use to be)
Sigil of Rage(rofl) use to be one of the top sigil when the game came out because people with bad math thought it was good and people hopped on the bandwagon. I don’t know many people that would touch that sigil outside of some novelty build.
Superior Sigil of Force also comes with some of the weapons towards the end of the personal story. There probably would have been quite a few people getting them at around the same time.
The weapons you get at the end of the personal story are rare and contain a major sigil of force.
Sadly.
Not the end. Towards the end. I actually happen to be on my mesmer right now who is up to the lv75 “Estate of Decay”. She has a lv72 “Strong Avenger’s Staff of Force”, a masterwork Berserker’s staff with a Superior Sigil of Force.

I see what you are talking about now. Sad that the level 72 personal story reward is so much better than the reward for personal story completion.

The exotic inscriptions require recipes that are purchased from the vendor for karma.
Up to you if you want to delete or not.
Need the character slot? Delete.
Eles can be real tough. A guildie is an Ele and has more toughness than I can shake a stick at. He never goes down. One tough cookie. Eles have a very high skill ceiling. But if you are bored with the class, they are probably not for you.
Some classes don’t seem to peek until 80. My mesmer was real slow to level and didn’t become extremely fun until 80. At 80, she is a blast.
There is so much to do, and it really depends on what brings you the most enjoyment.
*Doing map completion. Redoing quests/events for fun/lore.
*Running all the dungeons. Rerunning dungeons for tokens/gold.
*Doing PvP.
*Doing WvW.
*Running champ farms. Good loot, zerg focused.
*Doing the world boss circuit. Good rewards, large crowds, super sized encounters.
*Leveling up an ALT.
*Doing resource gathering. Gather up wood/ore/plants for crafting or selling.
*Leveling up all crafts. Eight crafts, each one 0-400 will give you 7 levels. Most spread out the crafts over several alts because of this.
*Gearing out your toons. Save up dungeon tokens for extoic armor/weapons, use karma from events to purchase dungeon karma armor, or WvW BOH for extoics. Can also craft exotics.
*Work towards newly introduced ascended weapons.
*Do temple runs. Open up the various temples and get some good loot while doing so.
*Get up with a guild and join them. Run guild missions, dungeons, and other content with like minded people. My guild does guild missions twice a week, PVP once a week, WvW once a week, Dungeons once, and we now have a farming night. Great fun for all.
*Start working towards a legendary. This will be a long term goal and slowly working towards one will give you something to achieve.
*Go through and do all the jumping puzzles.
*Get all the open world achievements. Mini-dungeons. World boss achievements. Lots of little achievements to get to keep you focused.
For PVP and PVE, engineer. The warrior is not as good in PVP from what I hear.
Engineer is definately a lot harder to play/master though. Warrior is more easy mode.
Transmute it, switch to another toon, then use tranmutation splitter to get your original legendary back. You will still be able to choose your stats this way.
These are all the reports that I have read/heard.

I would tend to believe that they did not go through the trouble of redesigning the system and how MF works and affects chests.
They have said before that it does not affect chests. I would believe that they have not changed this.
Just too much work/effort for them to do this. No real incentive to change it.
You will not be forgotten, brother Tonn.
We will not rest until your good name is unsullied.
Clearly they planned for it to be released and it’s not quite ready for prime time. You can be disappointed by a schedule overrun if you like, but that’s programming for you.
I’ve seen many launches of entire games pushed back because it took longer to get going than they expected.
I’m not sure how this is different.
I wouldn’t be disappointed as much if they just said they need some more time to work out the bugs and held the release back because of that. Not this false sense of ‘beta’ release.
Besides…. it’s only been over a year now…. patience is running thin from most on this issue.
gw2lfg.com is still there for me.
One of the main reasons that zerker builds are king.
The essence of luck reward seems pretty low for the daily.
The karma change hurt, but I feel it was warranted. They needed to make karma more valuable once again.
But, in doing these changes they have made the daily not very worthwhile. I no longer go out of my way to make sure it gets done. The extra mystic coin is not worth the extra effort some days. The karma jug used to motivate me a little more.
Seems like if you are lucky enough to have the LFG beta (which no one I know or have heard of does), then you can find a party amongst the 25 or so people that do have access. /sarcasm
Ridiculous…
Sigil of Fire was plummeting long before ascended.
The reason is simple. Casuals take a while to catch up with the true pve meta. And they started realizing it’s an inferior sigil.
Inferior sigil? I tend to disagree, depending on what you are going for in a build. What sigil do you prefer for AoE damage?
Yeah, this is an ‘in-game event’.
Rme
Better solution: Leave the game and save your self the heartburn.
The devs have made it clear for a full year that wvw/pvp is not their priority but
pve andmaking money.Playing this game is rewarding them for that way of thinking,
Fixed for you.
“Play Your Way” ™
I always assumed the Unique tag was a silly excuse to make ascended rings rare and exclusive in the past so as to prevent power creep.
I see that excuse flying out of the window now, along with any justification for why the Unique tag should ever remain. If a person can wield 2 Incinerators or 2 Frostfangs or 2 Moots, what is really so unique about those trinkets anyway?
Because that extra +5 to power would be too overpowerful.
/sarcasm
The new bloodlust buffs are active in the JP also from what I hear.
GvG is still not doable when one side has massive buffs.
ANet themselves have said that the forum users are a ‘vocal minority’.
Which means the news of the change was only reaching a minority of the players. Announcement of the changes were not made in game any where so the ‘silent majority’ could be informed.
The OP has a semi-valid argument. Though I really don’t think anything will be done about it.
They announced MF armor would become account bound, and when the patch released it did not. It remained soulbound. You can’t always believe what they tell you, and they will not change their minds about decisions they have made.
Good luck to the OP. You are a victim in this MF change. Nothing will be done to compensate you, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you can move on and maybe be happier.
26 gold in hand is worth 30 gold in the bush.
Maybe the ‘new’ animation everyone was experiencing with the Molten pickaxe is destined to be the animation for this new pickaxe?
This is a very common solution to a very common problem.
Pass the information along! For some reason, ANet support staff will not even offer this little bit of information to those who submit a bug ticket.
^ That
You must defeat the Engineer that spawns when you activate the container. If you do not, that container will no longer have the option to ‘interact’ with it.
This is normal behavior. It could either be a troll or just someone who is not informed on how the process works.
The event should fail and reset.
This was confirmed by a Dev as intended DR behavior a while back. You can not just park a character at a world boss. DR will kick in.
Working as intended. Gonna have to pay those WP costs.
Vicious lies meant to tarnish the impeccable character of one of the finest asuran war heroes to ever grace Tyria.
We will not stand for this smear campaign against the great asuran’s name.
•Rare quality underwater breathers
I noted this. Then noted them removing a huge chunk of underwater combat area from WvW.
What a confused patch.
Wow, what a confused patch. They remove a major part of underwater combat from WvW, but then introduce these:
•Rare quality underwater breathers
•The Tequatl Rising Mini Pack is now available in the Gem Store in the Minis category for 500 gems. These three risen are horrible and adorable. Put them all in the Mystic Forge with a Superior Rune of the Sunless to get a Mini Risen Abomination.
Well, this one will obviously acquired via Tequatl somehow.
Anyone have any further info on this yet? Like what the runes actually do or where/how you acquire them?
Description for ascended weapons describe Demolitionist Tonn as a charr engineer.
To describe a great asuran war hero as a filthy cat is just an insult and will not be tolerated! Get this fixed! For great justice!
Does he look like a filthy cat?:

What will I do with my underwater legendaries now?
Sad day indeed. I’ve been staying out of WvW since this announcement and will continue to stay out of it.
Me and my underwater legendary are obviously not welcomed there.
Balth is so bugged usually, it is not done as often as the other temples.
But it does get done. Keep checking, it may take a few days. Check at a different time of day also, that may help.
And the drop rate from the orion jewelry boxes is horrible. Never rely on them for obsidian shards.
It’ll cost about 15-20 gold to get weaponsmithing up to 400.
It’ll cost another 100-200 gold to get from 400-500.
All depends on how many materials you already have gathered/saved.
Good news is, once you reach 500, the cost for an ascended weapon is pretty cheap. Making multiple ascended weapons after reaching 500 is just a matter of waiting out the time gated materials.
I miss the talk like a pirate event.
gw2bear.com
Also shows open temples on servers as well as COE and COF.
Frenzy got updated last patch to include a unique projectile, namely a fish. It is a little underwhelming and hard to see, but at least they gave that.
Other than improving that projectile a little, I’d say my Frenzy is fairly well polished now.
Really is time for soft wood plank recipe to be changed again back to 3. There is no longer an over abundance of it.
There is probably way more Elder wood logs out there at the moment.
The dragons, golem, and temples each have a respectable amount of dragonite ore. I have found those to be the easiest and fastest places to acquire dragonite ore.
Get some more 80s. Farm them on each toon!
But no, the amount hasn’t decreased.
Great! Another back piece for my Engie that no one will ever see.
Pulling MF gear from the TP is an unavoidable and minor situation. Pulling precursors and Legendaries will kill the game for thousands of people. They can’t put that genie back in the bottle now. They lost the opportunity before they even realized they shouldn’t have allowed it in the first place.
Wait…. hold up. Pulling MF gear was minor and unavoidable but pulling precursors and legendaries will kill the game for thousands??!! I think you have that backwards.
Anyways, precursors should stay sellable. Legendaries should not. Ascended weapons should be sellable. I never understood why completed legendaries were allowed on the TP and I don’t understand why ascended weapons are not.
They CAN do something about the legendaries on the market. Just pull them. The economy won’t collapse.
