I read it as follows:
All back pieces will get an additional AR infusion slot (along with rings).
If you had an inherently infused back piece (or ring), the new infusion slot will already have a +5 infusion AR infusion in it.
If you had a back piece (or ring) that was not inherently infused, the new AR infusion slot will be empty.
I don’t think anyone with an inherently infused back piece or ring will be losing anything. They are just moving the +5 inherent AR to the new AR infusion slot.
Though, I really wonder if this will cause issues for people that have “Red Ring of Death” and “Red Ring of Death (Infused)” equipped currently. Will this player now be equipping two of the same unique rings?
There was no ‘compensation’ for people who lost MF gear.
If they wouldn’t even compensate players who lost actual ‘items’ I doubt they’ll compensate players who will lose ‘progress’.
But I feel for you guys. Losing anything that is important to you personally hurts.
Personally, I’ll only be losing about 3 reward levels because I stopped progressing in fractals due to the bad loot.
Once per day account bound daily chests. Hope everyone is happy with that too.
Gathering Ori/Ancient wood using gw2nodes.com will net you some easy/fast gold. Usually at least ~8 gold an hour. You can mine these on every level 80 toon you have. Usually takes about 20-30 minutes per toon for a full run.
Dungeons yield some easy gold. Can make ~5 gold an hour easy by running 4-5 easy dungeon paths. Plus the tokens to buy rares for ectos or exotics for the MF.
Fast/Easy dungeon paths include AC 1/3, CM 1/3, SE 1/3, COF 1/2, COE 1/2/3, HOTW 1, TA U/F
Champ farming is still profitable. Frostgorge is still a pretty good farm for this.
Two months ago ‘we are investigating this’ and no update yet? Is this intended or not?
I am still carrying around my old invaders sword with a superior sigil of force stuck in it awaiting word on whether or not this will be fixed.
There is no reason I should have to spend money/gold on gems to by transmutation stones to get my sigil back out.
You really can’t make money by crafting in this game.
1) Fix hobosacks
2) Fix turrets
3) Fix weapon damage (pistol, rifle, harpoon gun) to make more builds viable
4) Legendary kits
Warriors are actually in one of the best spots in the game. They should NOT be able to do everything they currently can do, all at once. They are going to address this.
But warriors can do a lot, and do it well. You have a lot of build potential there. It just needs to be tweaked so that a warrior can not do it all at once.
That said, this is where every other class needs to end up. The warrior doesn’t need to be nerfed into the ground, but every other class needs to be brought up to this level.
Other classes should have the ability to do a wide variety of things, have many different builds, just not all at once. There should always be sacrifices.
Lots of classes need serious help to bring them up to this level. They need to put more focus on this, rather than nerfing the warrior.
I’m pretty sure they are going to release a new chop it all axe very soon. Whether or not it is kittenelated remains to be seen.
And good luck getting an official response. No offense intended, but I have never seen them post any information about what they ‘might’ release in the future concerning items like this.
Since the jack in the box was just released, I would suspect it would be quite a while before they make another new one for release. My personal opinion is, that once that does happen they will be going with a different theme.
The heavy crafting bags for the T6 is by far the best use of laurels for those interested in a legendary.
Buying unid dyes and selling is also a way to get gold for the legendary, though just selling the extra T6 you get might be more profitable per laurel.
2 unid dye = 1 laurel or 3 T6 = 1 laurel. Depending on current prices, the T6 might yield a better gold return if selling.
I have the feeling a new chop it all axe is coming out very soon for sale.
Um, so I take it the ‘story’ version and the ‘explorable’ version of this are one in the same? Just the first time through is considered ‘story’?
I understand the OP’s point. It wouldn’t hurt to give out a level 80 stone for map completion at the higher zones. This would help ‘entice’ players to buy more of the stones.
The lesser stones they are giving out are a joke at level 80. Pure trash.
Everything is ridculously grindy as it stands. Having a desirable reward at the end of it will make it more tolerable.
Found a mesmer hiding in Stonemist last night. Sitting there, in a very well hidden spot all the way up top. With a big red name plate giving him away.
If people are getting queued up for a map while that map has the outnumbered buff active for that server, there is obviously a problem and the system is simply broken.
John Smith mentioned this awhile back, and he said that constructing an infographic like that takes a lot of time and translation (not sure why that is so tough though)
Taking a snapshot of complex economy data and translating it into a visualization that will enlighten rather than mislead is actually way more work than it sounds like. There is a lot of expertise and thought required even for things that seem simple like whether to use a bar chart or a pie graph.
And then there’s the part where John probably has other work responsibilities that take up his time. If he really loved us though, he stop wasting all that time sleeping and interacting with his friends and family and give us some brightly colored charts to pick apart
This.
so you don’t really love us, or are you working on a new brightly colored chart?
=p
CONFIRMED! He really doesn’t love us.
What builds would these changes actually open up?
These proposed changes just appear to push more and more engies to a couple popular builds.
Show/hide toggle, and an icon like attenuement would be nice if devs want us to see wich kit is used.
This seems so easy that I don’t understand why it hasn’t been implemented yet. The icon similar to the attunement icon would solve all the ‘issues’ with being able to tell which kit we are in. Even though that argument is very weak in my opinion.
A lot of good ideas from the community being thrown around here.
But, as to the propsed changes by ANet, I am baffled. I really fail to see how this promotes diversity amongst the builds of the engineer. If anything, it appears to me to promote the couple popular meta builds even further.
Instead of focusing on making those builds weaker (and thus making other builds look enticing), try encouraging build diversity by making the other builds more enticing directly.
Those recipes are supposedly still active, and the end product is an item that you get to choose your stats. Even celestial.
They should at least drop the Soft Wood requirement from 4 to 3, to bring it in line with other materials.
I agree with this. There was a reason to up the requirement to 4 once upon a time, but the time to drop it back to 3 and make it in line with every other wood out there has long past.
There is no longer, and hasn’t been in a long time, an over-abundance of soft wood out there in the market.
I’m familiar with those two high end named exotics. They still aren’t in the ballpark of legendary costs.
The recipes were drops during a LS release. You can buy them off of the TP now.
For celestial gear you need recipes for both the inscription and the actual end item you are crafting.
Named exotics don’t cost anywhere in the ballpark of legendaries. I have both. I know.
And adding this ‘feature’ to just legendaries would not kill the sigil market. Adding to all weapons, however, would.
The sigil is a very important part of the weapon and a build and this feature would be nice to have. Another extra bonus incentive to having a legendary.
That being said, I don’t think legendaries NEED them. I just think this is a decent idea.
Yeah, I believe they are in the jumping puzzle.
Usually only one will spawn there occasionally. Another sometimes spawns in the waters of the JP.
The best way to get your T6 materials is by farming gold in your favorite manner and purchasing them off the trading post.
They are extrememly inefficient to farm directly any more thanks to nerfs.
I would make sure to do daily Ori/Ancient wood runs on each level 80 toon you have. A full run on all four maps usually yields ~4G per toon (when sold on TP) in just about 20 minutes. Good source of income right now.
Also, don’t forget about the Heavy Crafting Bags bought with 1 laurel that contains 3 T6 materials. This is a pretty good investment, if you have already acquired the ascended gear you desire.
Honestly, why would you want to transmute the look of an exotic or ascended onto a legendary?
The only benefit I see from this is being able to change your stats out of combat.
But that is a hefty price to pay to get that luxury. It is far cheaper to just make two/three ascended weapons of different stats.
Daily reward chests are only awarded after completion of the bonus Maw level, available only on even fractal levels.
You really waited an entire year for a 10 slot bag?
No offense, but 10 slot bags are so cheap and common that they are pretty much just considered either filler bags for ALTs until you can afford a decent bag or just vendor trash.
15 slot bags give you the most bang for your buck.
Contact support. They have helped others that have bought 2 of the same rings without knowing what ‘unique’ meant.
That really is your only recourse. The outcome will probably be happy.
You can infuse both rings and add an infusion to each for a total of 20AR.
Then you can keep running fractals, and purchase and upgrade a fractal capacitor to ascended. (Total cost is 1850 fractal relics if I recall) Adding an infusion to the backpiece will give an additional 10AR for a total of 30AR.
Further AR can be obtained by placing infusions on ascended amulets and accessories which are bought with laurels and guild commendations.
You can also get further AR by placing an infusion into an ascended weapon if you have crafted one or had one drop for you.
I personally don’t like the PvP/WvW finishers in PvE.
I really don’t see how it adds anything to the fight other than prolonging it.
You can only mine the home instance nodes once per day per account.
Doesn’t matter which toon does it or which home instance you use.
They did this head-scratching move, but did not bother to fix the soft wood plank recipe?
But instead of having some underwater content, we are going to get a tower?!
Krait prefer underwater, and this would have been the perfect opportunity to add some more underwater action to the game.
Sigh.
I experienced what you described under #1 about a week ago. This was before the last patch. This was on FC server.
I have seen Claw events and champ trains. Your market may vary.
Five minutes into the labyrinth and I had 13 porous bones and a few other meaningless items. Perma DR.
I have the Quip on my Engie. Love it.
Working on the Moot for my warrior. Just need to finish the stacks of T6 and ecto along with some more skillpoints for the bloodstone shard. I’d say a couple more weeks of farming some gold.
Sweet disco ball, here I come!
Another Sylvari engineer here.
8 Sounds about right. I remember getting just over 3 crafting levels per discovery doing ~470-500 with a crafting booster active.
The issue about low levels having a hard time finding a party is being exaggerated.
You can start a LFG for a dungeon and advertise for any level and the party will fill up within 5 minutes.
I’ll run with any party when I have the time. I’ll take low levels with me and show them the ropes. But when my time is limited, I want to run with other guys that know the dungeon and know how to get through the content without being taught.
I have a harder time finding level 80 PUGs than I do finding groups that will take anybody.
Force+Force do not stack.
To make this issue a litle worse, the kick from guild option is right next to the kick from party option.
This has happened several times within my guild.
No change. You still need a recipe for the celestial inscriptions. The recipes are NOT discoverable. Purchaseable off the TP.
I refuse to do any content that rewards a backpiece as the reward until they fix this darn issue with the hobosack.
What good is a reward that you can not use?
Legendary Flamethrower.
That is all.
You have to love salvaging an exotic with a black lion salvage kit and only getting 2 mithril for your troubles!
