With both Lyss and Ilya high end pistols in the game, I always have thought they should have a higher end recipe requiring both of these to make a pretty awesome skinned pistol.
Did the escort twice now without getting an achievement.
The first time, I was partied up with a guildie and he got credit and his achievement while I did not.

This happened to our guild last night also while attempting to have a guild event. Could never get everyone in the same instance. Got most in the same instance, but that was after about 10 minutes of trying.

Was in an OF last night that apparently bugged out early. Ended up saving ~3,180 citizens.
Only 25 bags for rewards. So, not really worth the extra effort.
Don’t you get like a small “team effort” reward every time you hit a milestone or something? Although I will agree that is quite small.
No extra “team effort” rewards. Probably because we were already over the defined max threshold.
And I could have sworn I was in an OF last night when this occured, but based on reports I am hearing today it could have been the main instance.
Big zergfest that wasn’t very friendly to my upleveled 72 guardian alt.
Was getting one shot with 18k and 13k hits left and right. Nothing fun about that.
Had to log onto an 80 just to be able to survive.
I would, but my Engie’s hobo sack is ruining the experience for me again.
Another patch, another event back piece, another slap in the face.

Confirming this bug happened to me too.
Not good for my OCD.
Urmaug’s Secret is an easy one to get to and I do know that this one almost always works to trigger the daily achievement. It worked last night for me. Might try that one to see if it advances your progress.
But it definately should have worked with the others.
The explorer achievements are not tied to map competion. You can have 100% map completion and not have all the explorer achievements.
If you have checked for unclaimed map rewards on every map including WvW and cities, and went into the Chantry of Secrets again and went in far enough to trigger the POI again, then I have no other suggestions.
Good luck, hopefully you get it resolved soon.
You can try visiting every map and make sure you have claimed the map completion reward for each map.
If you have an outstanding ‘chest’ waiting to be opened for even one map, I hear that it is possible you will not receive your final map completion reward.

Agony is still from 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, and so on. It’s a little confusing now.
What is your personal reward level?
If it is not 21 or above, you will not receive a daily chest for the level 21 run.
Your rewards are tied to the LOWER of either your personal reward level or the fractal your are attempting.
It does irk me that you can buy a legendary but not an ascended and legendary is supposed to be better. When the former is supposed to be something that shows something about the wielder and the ascended is supposed to be able to let you play a part of the game (high level fractals).
I totally agree. It is pretty asinine that you can buy a legendary but cannot buy an ascended weapon. If anything, ascended should be purchasable and legendaries not.
Oh, and anything with a time gate is not ALT friendly at all. Which is fast becoming the norm in this game.
I don’t think the chests give completed keys, but just some pieces that can be used to assemble a key.
It could be the icon scrolling on the sidebar was just slow to appear and was a ‘leftover’ from where you assembled the keys. You can always check your chat logs to see what you actually picked up from the chests to verify.
Fractal rewards are always tied to the lower of either the current fractal level you are attempting or your personal reward level.
Level 7 personal reward attempting a level 2 fractal will yield rewards at a level 2 and a tier 1-10 daily chest.
Level 7 personal reward attempting a level 12 fractal will yield rewards at a level 7 and a tier 1-10 daily chest.
If you are a personal reward level 7 and attempt a level 12 fractal, you will get level 7 rewards and a tier 1-10 daily chest. A subsequent fractal run at level 2 would yield you level 2 rewards and no additional daily chest (you have already claimed tier 1-10 daily chest).
Doing a fractal run above your personal reward level will NOT yield you additional or better rewards but will only allow you to find a party a little faster.
There really is no benefit, other than ease of finding a party, for a player with a reward level of 5 to attempt a level 38 fractal. I try to explain this to as many as I can to prevent unprepared players from trying harder fractals than they should be.
Everyone knows there are parts of a legendary that are a PITA to different people in the game. WvWers feel like they have gotten the biggest shaft, somewhat understandable.
It really isn’t a matter of whether or not rank 30 is obtainable, easily or not. It is a question of why bother to put this additional restriction in place in the first place?
Why not go ahead and place a dungeon master title requirement on top of it also? That’s only 25 dungeon runs.
The fact is, the additional requirement was unnecessary. Map completion already requires players to pop their head into WvW, even if only for a bit. This additional requirment of rank 30 is just plain unnecessary. To get your map completion, you must enter WvW already and there was no getting around that fact.
Heck, I’ve been playing since a couple weeks after launch and I’m only rank 12 on my main and 11 on my one alt. I’ve got 3.75 map completions finished and I do pop into WvW on rare occasions to partake in some guild fun. Even with me popping into WvW occasionally and casually, I’m only rank 12.
Larger population servers with better coverage and larger zergs are more attractive for players who need to join the zerg to grind out a few ranks. Players on these larger populated servers have the advantage here because smaller populated servers don’t have zerg size to flip objects like the big zergs do.
This change will only encourage larger zergs, and encourage players to move to higher populated servers. There really was no reason to make this change.
Not exactly shields, it’s their crab shells you are breaking through the first time.
But this is working as intended.
The ability to reach rank 30 in a ‘matter of hours’ laregely depends on the server you are on and the size of the zerg you can run with.
People can defend the change all they want, but I really don’t see the reason or need for it. Not that it can’t be done or done in a reasonable manner, but the necessity of it is really in question.
Linking commander’s tomes to a WvW currency, BOH, is questionable too. Commanders have a real role and place in PvE and not only WvW. Sure, there are workarounds for the WvW currency requirment such as AP but why was this put in place? Adding a requirement such as a WvW currency to something that has a real and legit place in PvE only environments also is baffling. And this does nothing to help the issue people have with commander’s tomes being too cheap and everyone getting one.
I disagree. I am not position 23, I am in position 23 in the queue. What would work, like others have suggested above for example, would be something like:
- Your position: 23.
- Queue position: 23.
- You have position 23 in the queue.
- Your position in the queue is 23.
- Your queue position: 23.And if you must use “you’re”:
- You’re waiting in queue and your position is currently: 23.
- Your position: 23.
I like this one the best. That colon makes a world of difference.
Try revisiting the Chantry of Secrets. It solves the issue for a vast majority of players.
Balanced matches? I got into an OF last night where green owned one thing on the map. A whopping 4% of the map.
Depending on the OF you luck out on, I don’t see how these matches are balanced.
They should require everyone to have their Dungeon Master titles before being able to purchase their respective dungeon gift.
Everyone has long forgotten that it wasn’t always play WvW to get your BOH. For the longest time, they were referred to as badges of jumping, and for good reason.
On a side note, why in the heck were BOH added to the cost of a commander’s tome? Commanders are not only a WvW mechanism and they have a very real and valuable use in PvE. So why does it now cost BOH?

The server/map issues that had EOTM locked out most of my night last night kept me from exploring the map much.
But the limited time I was there, I didn’t happen to run across the section of the map that had underwater content.
Which part of the map gives me a new underwater area to explore and enjoy?
I’ve tried to farm the basilisks on several occasions for thirty minute stretches of time just to see if I could verify that they indeed drop the Giant Eyes.
I’ve not had one basilisk drop an Eye as of yet. I can not confirm they drop Giant Eyes yet. Nor have I farmed long enough to determine that they do not drop.
30 WvW Ranks is peanuts
exactly, you would likely get a good chunk of these just doing map completion in WvW. the new EotM map gives more BoHs now too in the chests after caping a tower/keep.
Map Completion in WvW won’t get you many of these levels, actually.
Still hovering around the 10-12 rank mark. Unless you run with the zerg, going around the map solo doesn’t grant you much in world xp.

Current streak is still going… up to 18 chests without a single scrap atm.
I’ve opened hundreds of chests, probably close to 400 at this point. I’ve gotten 2 whole tickets and 6 tickets worth of scraps (which got me 3 chiro greatsword skins (I bought them during Halloween, only 1 ticket and sold for 85 G a piece); a pair of scelerite skins and one zodiac to flip, total gain on those was about 150 gold). I also got a ton of things I won’t use as well as a lot of loot of varying value, including exotics and a ton of rares.
How many lottery tickets do you buy before you win? Do you keep buying lottery tickets? I am going to guess yes. This is the exact same principal except if you hit big with a chest you will never again argue with the process.
I have killed probably 250,000 NPCs in PvE and have 6500 kills in WvW. I got one precursor on a random mob drop. That one precursor was enough to never complain about RNG again.
My only point was the horrible RNG that I have been experiencing. 0 for 18. No ticket scraps.
The calculated drop rate chance for a ticket scrap has been said to be around 1 in 5. Your odds of 8 full tickets (80 scraps) out of 400 chests confirms these odds.
If my luck was ‘average’ I should have seen about 3 ticket scraps out of 18 chests. But my luck just plain sucks. Zero.
My Sylvari brothers and sisters have dubbed the day ascended weapons were released ‘The Reckoning’.

The POI way out west in the water is often missed too.
I’m not even sure why most people ‘skip’ the first part of the Dredge fractal, as doing it the way it was intended is almost always faster.

Someone wants to play on a very highly populated server, then complains about the issues that brings along with it.
To be honest, guesting alleviates a lot of the issues associated with the lower populated servers and allows every player to enjoy the game and it’s content. Players on higher populated servers can still enjoy and play the content.
Guesting is solving more problems than it is creating.
And players are really underestimating their own server population’s ability to create overflows. It is very easy to do.

Has anyone actually considered that maybe a lot of people flock to Dulfy’s site and other similar sites for guides because ANet has quick turn around on a lot of their content?
Players only have a limited amount of playing time and if the content is going to be pulled in 2 weeks, they better hurry up and finish it! There is no waiting around, figuring it out. That requires time.
I don’t know, but I think it may be broke. I went to several of the ‘Energy Probes" last night and couldn’t do anything with them.

End game content is all about looks and skins.
Rewards for LS content is a back piece the majority of the time.
Back pieces are utterly useless for Engies atm.
This game is all about looks at 80. Looks and stepping on the Engie.
I hate all the zerg content that has been released.
Not that the content itself was bad or anything, but the game and their servers just can’t handle the load. Zerg content results in unbearable skill lag, dramatic drops in FPS, and just over the top effects that, along with a cluttered HUD, obscures the display.
Until they can remedy the technical issues involved in this zerg style content, they should not be releasing it.

Let me get this straight. The last 3 months of developer time have gone into 3 new fractals with very little other permanent content?
Don’t get me wrong. ArenaNet are doing amazing with how regular they patch the game. You have to I guess give them credit for the regularity of their temporary content. But what does it show for the game?
If I log in another year from now, what am I going to see? A handful of new fractals and maybe a dungeon? Oh but there will be lots of STORIES of content I missed.
Surely there is a better way to do this. Tack it on to the back end of your personal story so you work through it chronologically. Put all of it inside an NPC who guides you to relive the experience. ANYTHING.
It feels such a waste. Such a waste of dev time and money that gets poured into this game by loving devoted fans. To make something that entertains for 2 weeks never to be seen again.
To be totally honest, it was only one new fractal they developed. The other two fractals and two boss fractals were take directly from the Molten Alliance and Aetherblade dungeons they previously developed.
Granted, they had to tweak those paths a little, but they did not spend developement hours on them.
They already nerfed Engie’s perma vigor. Mesmer’s is on the chopping block next. I would be prepared for a nerf to Ele perma vigor somewhere in the near future also.
