Just saw this on GW2’s Tumblr page and it looks like we will see what happened to Rytlock here. Looks like he has a Seer headpiece as well. I wonder what that could imply?
While I do like the idea of having a single waypoint, I think bringing in the sun crystals from the Zephyrites would be nice to have if you like to hurry over to a particular area. Think of it as the Zephyrites way of helping out the Pact after what happened to their home.
I suppose that could be viable, though buffing the enemies a bit would be needed to balance things out.
Assuming 138 millions of ToT bags have been looted (stated by Anet on twitter on 31/11, so there are more of them that have been looted since then).
Assuming the shiny foil candy wrapper drop rate is about 0.02 per bag. ( according to a drop rate research on the wiki : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trick-or-Treat_Bag/research )
Considering that all the ToT bags looted have been consumed (that is NOT true).
Considering all the foils are given to the skritt …
Then, approximately 2 760 000 foils were given !
There are 1000 halloween skins waiting for a master.
So for each foil given, you have 1 chance out of 2 760 to win ! That’s not so bad, if we compare to other gamble games.
But if you are looking for A skin (that perfect ghastly grinning shield for example), then you juste have :
1 chance out of 27 600 to get it.
That’s still hard for such a beautiful skin
In other words, even if you DID win, chances are you won’t get the ideal skin you want. I suppose one could just sell it off and make a ton of gold out of it, right? I put in around a hundred twenty skins I think, so I don’t think the odds are in my favor.
Just wanna know how viable it is in your opinion. Thanks.
The Facet of Light is that boss where you have to get to beat it’s minions to get a color and you go to a matching color to disable it’s forcefield, right? If I recall, couldn’t you get protection that would leave you immune to damage and conditions for a few seconds?
I thought the challenge level in the new update, especially in the last one was just right. It wasn’t mind numbingly easy but at the same time it wasn’t frustratingly difficult to understand. I just played that instance with the usual Rampager’s gear on my character. But then again, I know that this update isn’t going to please everybody. But from the looks of the feedback I see on the forums, I’d say it’s made more people smile than usual.
I suppose it’s a way to give closure or a proper sendoff towards Belinda as we last saw her in a very gruesome fashion. I never had that much of an issue with Kas and Jory to begin with as I have seen couples kind of behave like that.
As for how the update was handled, I too am very pleased. It wasn’t perfect but it kitten exceeded my expectations.
Well, if you were Sylvari, you do use Caladbolg for a time. Besides, if we are wimps then Trahearne would have beaten an Eye of Zhaitan all by himself.
If I am going to be too ambitious, I’d say I’d like them to take a leaf out of how Skyrim showed it’s flavor text in that you are like reading an actual book and not just looking at a dialog box showing the book’s contents. If anything that would actually make collecting things be more meaningful outside of increasing one’s achievement points.
I was so used to doing story instances by myself when I play that I overlook one particular flaw with instances in general, which is made apparent in the recent Living Story episode. The party members cannot interact with anything that isn’t an enemy. In the Durmand Priory library, it seems that while you can see the books available for reading, no one but the party leader himself/herself can actually read them. I suggest giving the members capability of reading or interacting with various objects within the instance but at the same time, keep the interactions between the leader and a vital NPC intact in that only the leader can progress the conversation further.
I don’t think voice acting would be necessary. On the beta, there was like a screen whenever you read a book. I’d like something like that integrated here. Perhaps in the future when the Durmand Priory’s library becomes open for public viewing
Yeah, pretty helpful now that necrotic grasp moves much faster.
A few hours ago, I finished up the new chapter in the Living Story. My main chapter begins to arise in the final part of the instance Hidden Arcana where it looks like the Master of Peace is tasked to take care of Glint’s last egg. Does this mean that the egg, once hatched will be the deus ex machina needed to defeat Mordremoth. I feel very fifty-fifty towards this in that it could be awesome to see a dragon on our side once more. On the other hand, I could see this being a bit sucky if the players do not face Mordremoth in some form. I could imagine that this could be like the Zhaitan battle all over again where we hardly face the dragon himself but rather hold off his underlings instead.
This is just something to consider, Anet. Other than that, you did a great job with the new update. Keep the ball rolling.
Yeah, that is what a raffle is all about. I mean, outside of getting a notification that you won, it’s nice to at least have a bulletin post on Lion’s Arch saying who are the lucky ones.
Yeah, it’s not fair. Why do Trahearne and Jory use a GS while my Necro doesn’t? I’m pretty sure she can hold it up just fine.
The more I read into the lore of GW2 through the Durmand Priory’s library, the more I think the manner the books could have been presented could have been better presented. Based on WoodenPotatoes video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4Wn4wAOZmQ&list=UUYUY9_i44IDNOs_Ja815mlA) something like that is very much welcome as it makes reading the lore more engaging in my opinion.
Upon giving the new update a try, I think it feels a bit like Dynasty Warriors in that you keep killing hordes of minions and taking territories. And that’s a good thing for me since I loved that game.
Have the winners been picked yet or something or will that happen sometime later? :/
We got home instances which isn’t really good in my opinion and the idea of implementing guild halls into the game was discussed in a CDI a couple of months ago so chances are that will be coming to the game sooner or later. Other than that, GW2 is purely themepark based it seems.
Yeah, I was a little hasty on my reply there. Either way, I really appreciate what you guys have suggested for me and I may have to make some changes of my own to a style I am comfortable with.
Hmmm…. considering that I prefer to use 2 swords and a greatsword, I wanted to know which build would be best to compliment said weapons of choice?
Thanks. Now all that’s left is the llama plushie.
I saw Bog Otter’s hourglass on a few of his videos and I have a fondness for hourglasses myself. I wonder if you guys could find it in your heart to sell it along with a llama plushie. I’d definitely buy those for Xmas.
I am both a B and a C. B in that I find exploring to be my favorite thing to do in open-world games and C because I seek meaning behind my exploration because I like to role-play as an adventurer or at least someone who travels as part of his profession.
I honestly think that they should bring improve upon Golem Chess instead and make it more like “rock-em sock-em robots” to keep things simple if that is what they were going for.
Hmmm… that does look nice. What about a Phantasm based build? Think that’ll do just as well?
Thinking of making a build based on having my mesmer use 2 swords and a greatsword for PvE and WvW. Got any suggested builds I can use?
Just in game.
I’ve never understood it myself. It would be nice to enjoy that kind of stuff, Could easily make every game’s longevity a longer.
From my point of view, to RP in an MMO is to further bask yourself in what the setting has to offer. I RP a bit whenever we got a session and I find it quite enjoyable so long as you got an idea on what group you are interacting with.
I don’t have that much trouble playing Necro in PvE, PvP and WvW myself. In PvE with minions, I don’t die as often as I would with other classes like the elementalist. In WvW, I could always use wells to help out the zerg. For PvP, it’s definitely not the best class, but I thought it suited my playstyle the best.
I’d tell my friend that it’s a good MMORPG to start with if he is just getting into the genre. It’s simple, intuitive, pretty, engaging and fun.
I know that much, but sometimes before they start typing their thoughts away, consider long and hard before doing so. I make my share of complaints in the past, but it’s never been the nasty or the cynical/sarcastic kind.
From my perspective, there is nothing wrong with complaining about flaws. It’s the manner that some people complain that just ticks me off sometimes. I get that they can be quite angry, but perhaps a more constructive approach rather than a full on rant would be more helpful for developers to take said feedback seriously.
That’s what raffles are all about, in the end: to see who is the one blessed by the gods with good fortune.
That’s more like a dinosaur name than a dragon name, Gnat. :/
It’s been established that there is one Deep Sea Elder Dragon that has yet to be named. The community nicknamed it Bubbles (I think). Now that we know that his name starts with an “s”, what do you think his name is? My money is on Selbbub because Bubbles spelled backwards. :P
I’d like to see an event where the Mad King Thorn and his emo of a son Eddie finally reconcile and join forces to wreak havoc across Tyria for next year’s Halloween. It could take place in the Mad King’s Labyrinth where he’d be a world boss and we’d fight them both in all their gigantic, creepy majesty.
I gave over a 100 of them the last time. Though chances are there is some hardcore gw2 player that farmed this game endlessly to get over a thousand of them in a single week. My opportunity to get the scythe is gonna be ruined…. T_T
Just because his statue is there that doesn’t always mean he’ll be actually present in the game. But from the looks of it, this episode seems to focus on travelling back to the past so that possibility is still there.
Abyss, Midnight Fire and Midnight Green are my favorite dyes to use in GW2.
Why does this remind me of Assassin’s Creed attire? O_o
Thanks for that, man.
I am curious, in order to earn guild commendations in this game, do I have to be with my guild AND be on the same server as them (for example, my guild’s primary server is NSP while I am on TC)?
Thanks.
Despite the flaws Guild Wars 2 has, this game got me extremely hooked in a way that no MMORPG ever could. /sign
People keep shouting about all these massive issues that have been here since release and is not fixed and yet I have never actually seen anyone that have said WHAT these issues are and HOW to fix them.
My main issue that I am begging for Anet to fix that is very major (for me) was the Personal Story fix.
You dont’ have to gamble. You can just buy it from the trading post.
I think the problem is it is just too expensive that some people felt it is unobtainable.
Well the problem is there is no content to earn the gold. Note I said content not mindless zerging or dungeon spamming both of which is not why I play the game.
Is it too much to ask to have fresh and fun content that you can earn gold from?
This whole gems conversion issue makes it clear this game is just being milked for as long as it will last.
If you got an idea on pulling it off, I am honestly all ears about it. As for the whole gem conversion thing, my opinion on it is that it was convenient (for me, at least) so that I could be spared the trouble of punching a couple of keys. I would prefer having a custom amount to go with that though to balance it out.
Honestly, if you got no friends, then it can’t hurt to make new ones through guilds.
As for my favorite class, it’s definitely necromancer as I like summoning classes as well as spellcasters that weaken enemies rather than deal direct damage the most. Support characters seem to be the easiest to get into and just as reliable to have in most parties.
Second to that is the Elementalist since there are instances that I like to deal a ton of damage to mobs.
Despite some changes made with GW2 since the recent feature patch, I consider this game to be my favorite MMORPG ever. Most MMOs that I have played, even World of Warcraft, hardly got me invested halfway through the game. People keep telling me that there are some MMOs out there that start to get really good if you are persistent enough to grind to max level, which I think should not be the case. In here, I was invested enough since level 1 in that I didn’t mind whatever grind the game had.
Yeah, I share your pain on this one, my friend. In fact, I have not continued the Personal Story for my 1st alt since this update. So far, Chris has just kept telling me that they are still working on this. I personally would prefer that they revert back to the original to make things easy. I have waited a month now since the feature patch came out and I would have been totally okay with the changes had they not included modifying the Personal Story to make it into quite a mess.
