It is beautiful….if you aren’t an asura female. If you’re an asura female….well…it’s great if you want to wear a suit. I feel like arenanet dropped the ball and went lazy with this. Not sure if they did the same to char. But….it does rightfully suck that female asuras have the same appearance as males. :/

Speaking of which, has there ever been a time that asura females actually wore dresses to begin with?

So just logged in and took a look it’s $200-300 for a pay to win Legendary. Looked through the preview option that they’ve added since I last really played. Gawd those models look old and dated. How about MAYBE $20 maybe.

If we had that at that price, then the Legendaries wouldn’t be so legendary, would it?

Stats-wise they aren’t so different from what you get from an exotic or perhaps an ascended save for some neat perks you get like modifying the stats. Other than that, they don’t give a significant advantage over the rest.

I will say this much, having denominations calculated like that is fine by me to save me the trouble of getting exactly the number of gems even by a little bit. But I think it’s best to have the option of having players type in their denomination rather than flat out removing it altogether.

The plot is busted – that’s very obvious from even a casual play through.

All it’d take from ANet is a simple statement: We know it is busted, we are working on a fix, no estimate. And then this thread wouldn’t be filled with disgruntled players.

Threads like this show ANet has a ways to go on communication.

It has been mentioned weeks ago according to a post from Gaile. I think they are working on it, but given the other stuff they do and I’d imagine Anet doesn’t have the manpower large enough to handle several issues in a timelier fashion, it’s definitely taking a bit longer than necessary. But that still doesn’t excuse the fact that this still kittenes me off the most.

I have to say, the months of a lack of LS since then isn’t very ideal considering the momentum felt broken to me. I hope that once November rolls around and the update does get released, it will be worth the wait. Because as I play the Living Story chapters, as good as they are as additional levels, the episodes beat around the bush a bit more than I would have liked and that’s not a good thing for me.

If there’s nothing to do, nothing new, I got everything I want, pvp/WvW is unbalanced, my story is complete, fractles/dungeons are stale, world completion is “been there done that” collecting spoons? No thanks. Crafting is done, legendaries are for the birds, there’s literally nothing else to do that intrest me.

So why do I keep coming back? Why are so many players who have done literally everything, keep playing? Why are you still playing? What is this Guild Wars attraction that won’t let go even when there’s nothing left?

Point of this post is, I can’t figure out why I’m still spending hours playing this game.
I don’t do anything.

I can’t answer that. But for me, I’m just playing because I like mingling with the community, both the good and the bad.

I understand that this can be done easily if you have a huge number of your guild members do the bounties themselves. However, this feedback is for those who are doing the bounties with less than few, say 10 players as covering an entire map, even with the aid of a road map from sites like Dulfy. I suppose the easiest way to pull this off would be to have players be able to interact with NPCs within the map to ask for the current whereabouts of your bounty. They don’t have to give his specific location, but rather a general idea of where he was last seen. That way, based on the responses the NPCs give, we can at least have an idea that he is nearby/

Biggest question that arises is of course; “What gamemode?”

Because, spoilers, for PvE there is no reason to go conditions as it is suboptimal (long story short), WvWvW it depends on what you do (zerg fights, or roam) and PvP depends if you Solo or TeamQ and in general the experience you got in it (because some builds simply do not work in high-end PvP)

I was going for all three modes personally.

I personally like the green eyes myself as I thought it would be perfect for my Necromancer. Though I do agree with you that selling a recolored version is a bit petty. They’d at least either sell it for a bit less than the original price, but I’d think that’d apply if there are more options to choose.

I had to buy the magic carpet. My Asura stands on it with her arms folded while floating down the road and while doing jumping puzzles. It’s hilarious.

You know, I am one of those story people and the personal story is important to me. But I’m pretty sure I’m not a majority

I’d guess that more people are attracted to this game by the smoothness of the combat than the personal story.

And since the personal story technically begins in the introduction and then you get it again an hour later, it should work for most people.

Yeah, I got no problem with that myself. Which leaves the fixing of the story chapters to be done which from the looks of the last patch seems like they are working on it. Though judging from Chapter 8, there is still some stuff that needs serious fixing.

Yeah, you just can’t make changes like that, without going back and redoing other scenes that refer to missing scenes. It’s a mess.

I agree. Unless you found a way to tie them together, then rearranging the story chapters is just gonna make the game feel more confusing. I got 2 other characters waiting to have their PS finished and the last thing I want from them is to experience a broken story.

I am curious though, assuming PS has been fixed, is there a way for Customer Service or a GM to have a character do back a chapter or two and do the quests again? Because I’d like to have my Ele go back in time a bit and do my quests all over again. :/

I am not a fan of raids myself, but I’d welcome it. Variety is the spice of life, after all. What I am concerned about is how this will play out. In an MMO with a trinity, there is co-dependency. In this game, it’s all about synergy. My wager the only way they could compensate for this would boil down to level design itself.

The new method takes some getting used to back when it came out. Whether Anet is going to bring the old method back or keep the format, I’d be okay with it either way. The old method lets you have eventual access to your weapon skills after killing certain numbers of enemies with a specific weapon. On the other hand, the patch makes unlocking the skills slower but the level up progression I think is a fair trade off, if not the best.

But like I said, whether they go back to the old system or not, it wouldn’t matter to me in the slightest anymore.

Idea Proposal: A Worldwide Guild Hall

Goal of Proposal: There is the matter of guilds being divided into charters. I’d imagine a Guild Hall would be the perfect place for Guild members of both regions to interact with each other toon to toon.

Proposal Functionality:

I suggest providing another megaserver dedicated to Guild Hall based instance areas. That way, the members from the same guild but in different regional charters will be able to be in the same spot to mingle with their comrades from the other side of the map and perhaps take part in guild exclusive activities that are limited to the boundaries that the guild hall will provide, assuming that there is any to be had, of course.

Associated Risk: I’d imagine making servers to accomodate both regions would be very very costly. Plus there is the matter of latency issues each player will have based on their regions.

I disagree. The Personal Story was a selling point for me as it helped give me a reason to give a kitten about this game out of all the MMOs in existence. I will acknowledge that PS isn’t the best in terms of writing and implementation, but it at least kept me interested in playing.

Okay, I thought of rolling me another alt. Though to make it interesting, I am making one inspired by Shiroe from Log Horizon (I love that show). If I recall, he’s an enchanter who works best in support rather than head on combat. Would that be the equivalent to the Guardian in this game? I’d like your insight on this.

Been taking a look at these videos and I like the intent behind it which is to reintroduce what the game has to offer to help inform potential buyers of the game. It’s just that with the background noise going on with this being a live event and all, it distracts me and perhaps other viewers from giving a kitten about what the casters have to say.

Proposal Overview
Promoting a social aspect of the guilds and giving an opportunity for guilds to show off what they have achieved. Integrating guild halls (maps) into Megaserver system.

Goal of Proposal
To make Guild Halls not only the place where guild members can hide from the Tyria, but also hang out from people from the other Guilds.

Proposal Functionality
I’ll not be talking about actual implementation, but rather about some concepts and vision on how Guild Halls should function.

  • Guild Halls should not be instances. I imagine it as a whole map (actually, lots of them), which are loaded into the system (if it’s possible without a very long and difficult code overhaul), when a single person from a guild enters that map, and destroyed like a regular map, when there are no players in it.
  • People, who are not in a guild would join any of the currently available Guild Halls.
  • Make it possible, as in current maps, to change the copy of the map that you are currently in, so that players who are representing their Guild could also be guests in other Guild Halls.
  • Guild leaders can make Guild Hall private/public and control if not their guild members can enter it.
  • If there are no active Guild Hall maps, and player who is not in any guild tries to enter it, game should say that currently no Guild Halls are available and give a note, that they can try again later or join a Guild (therefore promoting/informing players about Guilds)
  • Contents of the Guild Hall should be dynamic, i.e., if Guild has a Workshop upgrade, maybe it’s Guild Hall should have actual workshop, if Guild Bank is upgaded, maybe have a more fancy Bank building, or maybe even a Trove which you can enter explore, with JP in it. And the more upgrades Guild gets, the fancier/more filled Guild Hall becomes.
  • Possibility to add cosmetic stuff to Guild Halls through influence/merits/Gem store.

Associated Risks
I can see no risks as a player, but can fully understand that some points of my proposal could be hard to implement because structure of the existing code. Although I hope that little obstacles will not hesitate you from developing it if an idea itself looks appealing to you.

One other risk related to Halls not being instanced is that with so many guilds in this game and only one map to make guilds on, it’s going to look like a mess. The map would have to be very very massive to cater to every guild to find their ideal building spot.

I vote for keeping Guild Halls instanced HOWEVER, make non-guild members be considered as invite-only guests (having them join your party doesn’t count) so they can visit the hall themselves. Naturally guests will be restricted to certain benefits like access to Guild Banks and certain rooms.

I’d probably guess that the removal of those chapters wasn’t exactly intended. I mean, I was able to play Apatia’s quest with my elementalist since I started the Greatest Fear story prior the patch.

It seems to be quite the oversight if you ask me. I can understand the intention behind it but something like this should have been tested before releasing the Patch. Until then, my Asuran Elementalist Abykkos is going to have to continue training in PvP and WvW as I’d rather have him experience what my main character experienced in her Personal Story.

I don’t see a lot of them (except perhaps the Profession Trainers) in their hometurf these days. I know the Charr don’t trust magic as much when compared to the other races but still. I always wanted to see how Charr Mesmers would behave.
