If I’m selling something that has a long queue of sale offers at prices 1c apart, I always undercut by a significant amount to discourage people from undercutting my sale. It works more often than not.

It means in any context as Anet sees fit. Some someone reports a name, and it actually goes against this naming policy, Anet can choose to force a name change.

It would mean that anybody who bought the royal pass, airship pass or to some extent the home portal stone would be undermined. These items are available in the gem-store and thus can be bought with real money.

For over 3 years now, I’ve been going to my server’s WvW borderland to sell stuff, bank and craft.
For free, including a return trip to the exact spot in the open world I left. Some of my characters haven’t been to a city in years. Literal years.
I still get the 7:11:3:191:101 error once in a while. Far less frequently than I used to, but it comes in multiples. If I get it once, I’ll get it again several times that night.
The mysterious colored keys are an awkward reward for a tightly limited time event. I got multiple blues, multiple pinks, no greens. When they originally dropped, we could buy missing parts at a merchant. Now, incomplete keys are just trash.
What happened to all those players on the raid thread who said that events are their own reward and we don’t need stuff to do them?
I thought all the players wanted to do the events just for fun?

I’m out. I don’t care if they’re giving a million blooms once they fix this. I’m done running around being too late to get event credit most of the time. Games are supposed to entertain, not frustrate.
Yup, I got tired of it 5 minutes into it, after 6 attempts to get to an event and arriving too late to tag anything. The one event I did manage to attend was even more involved than the ones in Silverwastes I got tired of months ago. Hit some blooms, hit a vine, hit some critters. Boring. Complete waste of time.

You should read up. That was the reason dailies were introduced. To encourage players to spread around over the world (for the purpose of doing dailies) if they so desire, gently encouraging some to do more than hump one zone or mode.
Then they later agreed that binding a required currency to it was meh, so they moved that stuff to log-in rewards.
Hence most of the point of dailies is now gone. It really doesn’t matter whether they’re 4 for each mode, 12 for PvE or 150 for WvW. They don’t give you much except some minor bonuses from the chests. Still, they seem to somewhat work to encourage players to spread out a bit more, try other stuff. The intention.
I’ve seen every iteration of the dailies and I’ve discussed them all right here as well. I know the stated intentions and I’ve read the reasoning behind every change in as far as they were stated at all at the time. The current iteration is the worst ever in my opinion. It encourages nothing positive.
What it did encourage me to do is park characters in every city so I can do the resource gathering in the appropriate home instance (if it’s not an Orr day) and stand on some roof for a vista. The LA-based character has a slightly more interesting job: an occasional activity or level 1 swamp fractal, and perhaps even using the mystic forge if I didn’t do that on the character that just got 4 greens from WvW levelup rewards gained from liquid world XP I bought to do the Big Spender daily. Moreso than any earlier iteration of the dailies, this one rewards efficiency and routine.
Daily boss or events in specific area? Done them maybe once or twice when my travels coincidentally took me to the right place at the right time.

My favorites were daily (and monthly) puzzle jumper and kill variety when it was still 15 different types of enemy (original dailies).
That last one really did make you travel all over the place. If that’s the point of the dailies, why did they get rid of it?
I agree. Anet should just hand us a million gold each every day. No need to do anything at all.
They already give away everything that used to be of any value with the previous dailies, and more. The new dailies are just highlighting the dull and pedestrian parts of the game, which is a monumentally nonsensical thing to do. Everything that was ever remotely interesting about dailies (and monthlies) was stripped away.
Now lauren is included in login reward along with many goodies. The only function of daily remains is to reward players that travel around in zones and mode. There is nothing shame about the new daily.
That is a bold-faced lie. It rewards doing arbitrary things that don’t contribute to having a good time in the game. I can go and explore bits of every part of the game for 10 hours straight and never complete a single daily achievement. They reward players that sit up and do tricks like dogs desperate for attention.

Most people don’t mind to try new things out, to travel to new areas and explore. It is what the game is designed to be.
There are no new things to try out. There are no new areas to travel to and explore. There’s only what has been there for the most part of three years, apart from a tiny few more recent areas.
What does any of that have to do with the current dailies anyway? They don’t require you to explore or do new things. They require you to do specific, pointless tasks that you need to go out of your way for.
So yes, you can click that little remind me later button every 5 logins.

But that still doesn’t answer the question is it going to be compulsory in the near future.
Anyway part of the issue for me is that the email address I use for GW2 is specific to GW2 and as such only me and Anet know what it is. Consequently I get no junk mails or any others on that email account other than official notifications. Not bad seeing it’s been the best part of 3 years, shows Anet at least respect their customers in that area. Hence why I’m not keen to give it to any 3rd party.
If you’re happy about their discretion with regard to your email address, why not trust them with a phone number as well? As someone said before, if your IP address doesn’t change often or you’re always within a small range, you won’t be confronted with the 2 step system very often. Probably a whole lot less than the constant reminder.
I’ve activated it the first day the spaghetti dragon was introduced as an encouragement, and I’ve only had to confirm twice so far. Once on my regular PC and once when using the forums at a friend’s place on a mobile device.

While this doesn’t apply to GW2 or SMS, but with other companies you have to worry about them selling off your contact info and then getting robo-called. So it can be a stigmatism. With software you can just uninstall and be done with it.
Just uninstall? What good does that do after your identity and everything that you keep on you computer has been stolen? Having a bad piece of software on your computer for 5 minutes can be so much more troublesome than your phone number in the wrong hands.

Around 7,500 AP you can have enough to make a full armor and a single weapon, if you don’t spend laurels on anything other than ascended recipes.
Don’t they get the laurels that come with the AP rewards? It’ll only add up to a small handful over a long time, but you’d get to buy an ascended recipe every once in a while.

I believe you can party up, unless they’ve made it impossible at some point. I’ve been in such a party, but that was a long time ago. We could of course not join each other.
If joining partymembers in other instances is restricted for play for free accounts, why would that work both ways? I’d imagine someone with a full account could join a P4F partymember.
And so it begins…despite whatever measures Anet have put in place, yesterday alone I got two goldseller whispers. I don’t and won’t be playing with “on evade” traits. Using dodge a bit earlier than strictly necessary for the sake of evading attacks is often tactically the better option. It’s not all about the incoming attacks, it’s also about neatly fitting in your dodges between your own skill use, especially if your skills can’t be used on the move. I’ll pick traits that don’t conflict with how I want to and am used to play. Plenty to chose from.
I’ve also run into the problem that I’m not getting the big chest and the bonus chest anymore. It started about 2 weeks ago. I’d forgotten about it because I haven’t been there since then, but this post reminded me to go have a look. Still no rewards for my thief, except for what Rhendak drops himself. No chests.
We’ve gone from “Ahhh!!! The world is going to end, they’re going to make us pay a subscription!!!” to “Ahhh!!! The world is going to end, they’re going free-to-play!!!” in just 2 days. Amazing!
They are still available on the trade post and thus by no means unavailable. If I recall corectly you can only use 10 a color, 10 of each color is 270 gold to buy directly (by placing orders you might be able save a bit), which may not be cheap but it definitely isn’t that expensive either.
Also, that box doesn’t exist and therefore seems rather pointless to discuss.
Whatever the truth about that supposed new box, prices have collapsed already.

I just got a few of these Celebratory Dye Packs. Can anyone tell me, before I do something stupid, can you go back after selecting the kit you want a dye from, or is the Celebratory Pack replaced by the kit you choose?

What’s weird is that your precision increases by 3 but your critical chance drops.
What’s the utility effect on you? A maintenance oil by chance?
Short of making them transparent with pale, thin outer lines, they couldn’t have made them more difficult to see than they are now.
I don’t care about having to see most of the nonsense the aesthetically challenged among us inflict upon their characters. I’m just incredibly annoyed at items that let you take up three times the space on my screen that characters without those items do. I’m looking at you, wings.
When they introduced rubbish back items that triple a character’s width (I think they call them wings or something), this suggested option became a requirement.
Since a few updates ago, it doesn’t work like it used to work anymore for me. What used to happen was, I highlighted one of the boxes by hovering the mouse over it, and then I could use the scrollwheel, or enter new figures altogether by using the keyboard.
Nowadays, the responsiveness has gone. Hovering the mouse will not highlight much of the time, clicking one of the boxes will do no good, and using the scrollwheel while hovering over a non-highlighted box will not change the correct denomination. Those tiny arrows are often the only way to alter prices. It’s a struggle to use the TP.
Living in Europe and using an email address with my national top level domain that has neither “c” nor “a” in it, I keep getting asked if I mean my address @ “.ca”.

Indeed. All Rangers should fight with one hand tied behind their backs and take their medium level armor right up where close where their weapons are less effective. Heaven forbid they should fight in the way their skills force them. And those annoying pets they are forced to drag around just get in the way. They are almost as annoying as those silly cosmetic wings some people insist on wearing that constantly block everyone’s view. Perhaps Anet should consider removing the Ranger profession from the game because it annoys the glass tanks and AoE bombers who bring a nuke to a knife fight.
Here’s a thought… if you want distance between you and the enemy, back away from it. Walking backward is a great ability that’s never on cooldown.
I don’t know about the mystic forge, but I salvaged 23 rares earlier (mystic kit) and none of them gave me less than 1 ecto. I never had a streak like that before. I also got 2 exotics out of 3 champion bags minutes before that.
