I don’t really consider new races or classes as content. If you commute 100 miles every day to work, would buying a car really add onto or change the experience? New skills could change up the current meta but in the end, people will go with what is optimal and it won’t be any different than now.
Unless it makes a new meta. They might add a class that one shots Tequatl, or one that gets one shotted by trash mobs. We can’t judge content that probably hasn’t even been thought of.
All it does is change the meta just like we often get when they do their balancing updates. It doesn’t really add anything.
So if they removed every class in the game except for Necromancers, would you argue that the game has the same amount of content?
That’s not what I was saying. Right now, everything we have works well with what we have in the game. Adding new skills, race, and/or classes will not add anything. All it does is change the meta or slap on a new appearance.
I still have to disagree. There will always be a meta, that’s a given with MMOs, but a new class could be far beyond a “new appearance”.
No it does not need payed expansions. It really needs more meat in the LS I will see by Christmastime how that pans out.
We’ve already given it a year though. Why is Christmas time the deadline for improvement for you?
I’m holding out to see if Season 2 part 2 is any good. If it’s the same one hour instance and 10 square feet of map, I think it’ll be what pushes me to uninstalling the game.
@Mystic Don’t get me started on how many times I’ve put one too few or many parenthesis when python coding.

an excuse for verbal abuse.
Whenever I see a boss get knockbacked when the zerg is going melee, a little part of me dies on the inside, and then I kindly type into chat “Whoever keeps using knockback, please stop. It’s annoying for the melee players who have to chase the boss.”. If I saw the player who did it, I’ll type “[Name here] please stop using knockback. It’s annoying for the melee players who have to chase the boss”. Then they can know I’m talking to them and, hopefully, stop moving the enemy around.

I’m almost worried about how they’d handle an expansion. It would probably just be Living Story Season 3 – Boxed Editon.
A slight rumbling forced his attention back to reality as one of the creatures noticed his intrusion. He stared directly at the charging beast. If he had to, he would wipe this entire species off the face of the planet.
Does this mean we will be farming for the item that goes in the Mystic Forge?
People pay $40 for a console game, then consider it descent if they get 40 hours of gameplay out of it.
People pay $40 for Guild Wars 2, and after spending thousands of hours in the game, they complain about lack of content.
That’s because Guild Wars 2 is aiming to be an MMO, something where 700 hours (the amount of time I’ve played) isn’t much. MMOs are supposed to take thousands of your hours.
Players ask for a new continent, players get a new continent, players complain about having to explore a new continent. Let’s take this moderately, shall we?
We have never got a new continent. We have gotten new zones but that is not a continent. A continent is something like Elona, or Cantha. All of Tyria itself is one continent.
To be honest I don’t mind all that much as long as it’s equally hard to obtain. Reducing the price is a really annoying move.
Number of 80 toons.
Achivment points.
PvP Rank.
WvW rank.
Acquired legendaries.
AP, PvP rank and WvW rank are a good idea, but legendaries and 80s aren’t, imo. Legendaries come down to gold grind, and the amount of 80s only tells you anything about the diversity of what they play. I only have two 80s, but I’ve played enough to have many, many more. I don’t want my opinions on endgame, dungeons, boss events, etc. discarded because I like my Guardian.
It basically highlights what most people here post on a daily basis: Overall good quality of content but complete lack in terms of quantity .
Don’t forget diversity. So far it’s been pretty much all story instances, something that bored me when I first logged in. It’s like me going to an all-you-can-eat-buffet and getting Italian food, and then going back for a second plate only to find the salad bar open.
Tried this ingame before complaining on forums?
Yeesh, kids these days….
Considering you said it sucked in your other thread, should I assume you’re trolling?
Read the post.
I had it in reverse. I thought they would let us exchange 1g for 9 gems, until I saw the “gems for gold” on top.
Up until now, gold for gems had always been on the left side. Changing it was kinda dumb.
…The irony here is kinda funny. You didn’t read what each side was, and I didn’t read your whole post. Sorry for my part in all of the confusion.

Stuff like this is why I’ve begun dreading patch day. It seems like Arena Net doesn’t want me to play anymore.
ANet: “Morsus, you’ve played 700 hours over the past 2 years. That’s unhealthy.”
Me: “You shouldn’t have made such an awesome game then!”
ANet: “Don’t worry, we won’t make you quit cold turkey, we’ll just make your quality of life lower until your desire to play is gone.”
Me: “Stop it! Leave me alone! I just want to waste my life behind a computer!”
The problem isn’t that healing doesn’t heal enough, it’s that no one needs it, at least in dungeons. Don’t try to apply the trinity to a game that intended to use a different system. It will only break everything more.
You might get into trouble. I hope you do.
- Given that we have that feature, why should anyone be immune?
To prevent pugs from kicking you at the last boss in a dungeon to let guild mates run with you.
many players asked for that stat set since launch.
it’s kinda pointless given your damage would be terrible.
But hey, some people think they should be traditional mmo tank – no damage, just meat shield.
And then they try to fight Kohler (or some other boss with a 1HK attack) and realize that you can’t tank a 1 hit kill attack.
There has always been a disconnect between the Armor stats and what you actually need in game.
I think the OP wants the option to spend 15 laurels to get a 100% map completed.
They removed a whole storyline? I’m getting closer and closer to uninstalling this game.
Cultural Armor and Ascended Armor.
I don’t see the problem with someone beating you by a copper. Just be patient.
if you think the gvg minority having a cdi is going to save this game..
’Cause mounts will do so much more.
Another cleverly disguised mount thread.
One thing, i love gw2…
They always type this. Mounts, instanced raids, anything some other game has that this doesn’t, “I love Guild Wars 2”.
What do you not understand about no end game? This game has none! That is why people want things like mounts, dueling, raids, better pvp, arenas! Why? Because they keep people playing! People need to realize that this game will not survive if it keeps going on like this, living story with one hour content that gives you greens and blues is not enough. If you are fine with that you obviously don’t care about the game and are selfish, just because YOU dont like mounts doesn’t mean others don’t, believe it or not some people actually like this game which is why they want mounts they don’t want to play wow, archeage, tera, or rift they want to play Guild Wars 2! Mounts add end game if implemented right, as of right now the only good drops in game are precursors which drop every other year, so honestly adding mount drops to certain bosses would add some end game that this game is seriously lacking.
I like Starcraft 2, but I feel like it would improve if I could play as the marine in a FPS style and turn the tide of battle through my FPS skill instead of my RTS skill. I love Starcraft 2.
Just because I love the game doesn’t mean my suggesting a change to the fundamentals of the game wouldn’t undermine the core concept of the game. Waypoints fulfill the need for fast travel, and there are other ways of showing and looking cool. I don’t feel like I have to respond to your argument on raids/dueling/more pvp arenas because they aren’t relevant to the topic at hand and would only serve in the derailing of the thread.
In Guild Wars 2 almost every build is “viable”, but few are optimal. Mace is “viable”, but far from optimal.
^^ What he said, but you could also go Mace+Focus/GS in that 45005 build just swpa out powerful blades for radiant fire. This is assuming you don’t have light field issues, meaning you won’t kitten off the ele’s by using it.
Yeah, if you have an Elementalist in your group, avoid using Light Fields.
Waypoints fulfill the need of fast travel, so all mounts would add is more visual clutter to the game.
No thank you. This is almost as bad as want to be able to inspect peoples gear. All it does is create isolation and trolling. The good effects of it are not outweighed by the bad that comes with it.
I don’t need to be bullied online, got enough of that in real life thank you much.
What’s the problem with gear inspection? Either you lied to get into the pug (and deserve to be kicked) or you have the gear they listed in the LFG and it will be fine.
Same process, same area, same mobs, different character. See if you can guess which classes I was playing based on these results.
Guardian. My second guess is Warrior.
The article didn’t make it clear if these will go up to 5 tickets. I thought it was standard to raise the price a few weeks after the skins release?
That expression should only be used in limited circumstances. When I say “I wish there were more dungeons. I really like those.” and someone says “Go play Diablo, Guild Wars 2 isn’t the game for you.” I can’t help but laugh, because GW2 has dungeons already. When someone says “They should [add mounts, include the trinity, add more stat grind, etc.]” I can see why someone would say “This isn’t the game for you.”.
Didint the paragon from GW1 used heavy armor?
Paragon had a baby with Monk and they named it Guardian.
No. I think you should be able to play the content you like and get all the rewards.
Blaming ANET because of the way trading post works. It is a game, not real life. They should come up with some fair mechanics
What’s wrong with the way it works? Items sell to the person willing to pay the most? The problem, is that the only guaranteed way of getting a precursor is to buy it from another player, not the Trading Post in and of itself.
GW2 is not about grinding and farming.
It’s about exploring and doing many different content with friends.Getting gold is suppose to naturally happen.
So yes, I hope they nerf this…but it doesn’t, that’s the problem
It does for me… That’s why I don’t farm! =D
It doesn’t for me… That’s why I do.
You have me curious now, how much gold do you have? Do you have ascended weapons? Ascended armor? Legendaries?
PvE is all about damage. You might be able to find a niche for it in WvW or PvP though. The risk you run, is that you might run into another cleric and then it would be pointless.
Thanks for sharing. Now that word is out about this farm though, we can expect a patch in the next week or so to nerf it into oblivion.
No thanks, free donuts from Krispy Kreme are enough for Pirate Day for me.
a new set of dungeons,
They added a new set of dungeons! YES!!!
/me checks game
Oh, you’re just making stuff up. Since you’re making stuff up, do I even have to come up with a counter argument?
I’ve been injecting it into my bloodstream. Maybe that’s why I’m not up to 300% yet.
i saw the spec of the PS4 8 core 1.6 GHZ
there GPU is 800 MHZmy PC is 8 core 4.0 GHZ
My GPU 1140 MHZso in tech terms my is better then the PS4
so how wil a PS4 handle a heavy game like GW2 then ??
The same way the PS3 handled Arkham City, and the PS4 handling Planetside 2.
Haven’t really noticed it on my level 80 main. Maybe I’ll try leveling and see if there’s any change in drops.
GW2 will probably never come to consoles, and if it does, it sure won’t be the Wii U. I don’t mean to come off rude, but the Wii U isn’t powerful enough to handle GW2, and regular consoles don’t have enough buttons.
I heard that theyre only started with wii and wiiu would be wiiu2 or whatever , then it’ll be even better then ps4
The Wii U is Nintendo’s current gen (PS4/Xbone console). Anything other than that is simply rumor, and doesn’t change the fact that the Wii U cannot run Guild Wars 2, even on minimum specs.
I won the AoDF in a game of trivia earlier today, so I can’t really complain. Does seem odd however that it stabs the feet.
Who wants to be a Lightbringer, if you can be The Sunbringer anyways ?? ^^
I’d rather have “Extinguished Light” or something to that effect.
I should not have to be level 80 to run level 35/50 dungeons, plain and simple
But on the reverse side of that, “Play how I want” means I can play with only level 80s if I want to. You do have a right to run the dungeon, you do not have a right to every single party on the LFG.
Absolutely, and I completely agree However I do feel that lower levelled players should be empowered and enabled to do content that was meant for their level.
And while my opinion on LFG as it stands right now is negative, I’d rather discuss the concept in my original post – ie, whether it would be a cool idea to implement a mentoring system with in game rewards. Many games utilise these systems of mentoring/apprenticeship/etc
They can play the content designed for them fine. You assume because some people would rather play with 80s that the level 30s trying AC Story for the first time won’t be able to find a group, but in my experience finding a group willing to take any level/classes is pretty easy. Go post an LFG saying “All welcome” and compare how long that takes to fill up against “5k Zerker Only, Warrior/Guardian/Elementalist”. The problem your suggestion addresses is blown way out of proportion at best, and non-existent at worst.
