If I remmember correctly it was 10% of your set value was the Trading Post Fee. (I may be wrong)
You are wrong. There has always been a 15% fee, 10% for trading, 5% for listing. The 5% listing fee wasn’t shown when listing/trading before, but it is now.
Wrong, the 5% listing fee was show as “Listing Fee” under the “Projected Profit” line, it just not factored into “projected profit” which only subtracted the 10% sales tax.
Okay, it wasn’t shown as obviously.
Why would you want someone in your party that is a low level? They can’t use skills or traits.
Because I get a kick out of helping people, nothing more, nothing less. I take into consideration the party make up and their levels, and know my limitations, so it wont be a farce.
One thing I do notice though, 99% of the time, low levels enjoy the experience, which in turn gives me a buzz, where as guys who have done it hundreds of times, look on it as a business. That is fine, but I would rather spend free time with the former group rather than the latter.
What’s stopping you from doing that?
Now you can understand the pain of those who do fractals. I have two bank tabs full of just ascended rings.
And think of what people who don’t play Fractals would pay for them.
Brilliant LOL They should do one for Gadget Engineers.
One for Soldier Guardians too. “Commander, what do we do?” “Just ignore them, as long as you don’t hit them their retaliation can’t do anything.”
lol
“After they breach that door, they’re going to activate quickness, and rapid fire every single one of us to death.”
Sounds like someone needs a Wall of Reflection haha.
I should not have to be level 80 to run level 35/50 dungeons, plain and simple
But on the reverse side of that, “Play how I want” means I can play with only level 80s if I want to. You do have a right to run the dungeon, you do not have a right to every single party on the LFG.
If I remmember correctly it was 10% of your set value was the Trading Post Fee. (I may be wrong)
You are wrong. There has always been a 15% fee, 10% for trading, 5% for listing. The 5% listing fee wasn’t shown when listing/trading before, but it is now.
I can almost never get a dungeon party in lfg, due to “lvl 80, zerk, 5k AP” requirements.
Are we using the same LFG? The only requirement I see on a regular basis is the “Level 80” one. Easygoing groups tend to fill up fast. I’ll put something down like “Doing Path 1. All welcome.” and it will fill up in less than 60 seconds.
Each time I see a thread like this, I have the desire to leave the game, but I can’t bare to walk away from all my time invested in the game
GW2 will probably never come to consoles, and if it does, it sure won’t be the Wii U. I don’t mean to come off rude, but the Wii U isn’t powerful enough to handle GW2, and regular consoles don’t have enough buttons.
As a dungeon soloer/duoer who sells paths, and now attempting to sell an item that I legitimately crafted, well, I guess I’m open to all sorts of abuse because I’m doing it in a manner that isn’t what “they” like.
The difference is that the LFG is for finding groups, not for you to get around the TP taxes. Dungeon selling, IMO, is perfectly fine when you haven’t stolen the instance, kicked people at the last boss, etc. As you can see from the Anet poster, the LFG is not a market. Feel free to sell your item outside of the TP, but do not abuse the LFG to get it done.
Wouldn’t Retaliation/Wall of Reflection make short work of someone camping a ranged skill or a skill that hits a lot in a short amount of time, like Rapid Fire? Correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t fought any since the last patch.
You will be missed! Hopefully the game improves and brings you back, but have fun whatever you end up doing.
People complain about not enough dungeons. they added a path to atherblade path
They also removed a path. 33 + 1 – 1 is still 33.
So 12 year olds are impatient and think things are dumb.
My teenagers thought everything was dumb. Insurance was dumb. Taxes were dumb. Eating vegetables was dumb. Chic flicks were dumb. Reading was dumb.
I’m not sure what that proves except that you’ve got plenty more years of that to go.
As a teenager, I only think two of the things, taxes and chick flicks, are dumb. The point being made, is that if a twelve year old feels patronized by the level-gating of content, then it isn’t necessary.
tax evasion is a federal crime in most countries
we must imprison these felons!
Lore wise, they’re only evading Evon, and he’s just a merchant. That’s like saying I should go to jail for selling trading video games with my friend and not with GameStop. However, I hope this doesn’t catch on, because I like using the LFG for finding groups.
They might be there awhile.
I’m positive I was taught Red/Green/Blue in school… and just to double check I did a Google search. It seems there is actually conflicting info, as image search turns up a mix of RGB results (Which is what I was taught) and RBY.
Red/Blue/Green is how we perceive light, and it’s one of the more popular sets of “primary colors”. For printing and painting, Red/Yellow/Blue is often used since you can make more colors from that than you can with Red/Green/Blue.
consistent, complex, nuanced characters and storytelling are absolutely my goal
/me jumps up and cheers
My guess is the Halloween patch starts at the end of the WvW series, and after Halloween the living story resumes.
So glad they separate the story in game with halloween… the two together would’ve been so confusing… like dragons and pumpkins… oh my god, I wouldn’t know what to do!
What, you haven’t heard of Pumpkiragon? He is the almighty Lord of Suffering, the terrible King of Terror, Prince of Agony, he is the Pumpkin Dragon! The unholy spawn of The Mad King and Zhaitan, he has usurped the magic that was lost in the death of Zhaitan, and now hungers for the bloodmagic of Mordremoth, Jormag, and Primordus!
I don’t mind the idea of a less likeable race being added to the game
Wasn’t that the role of the Charr? Villains of the first game, turned allies against a greater threat.
We already have an unacceptable, monsterous and vile race that only exists to be hated and, Lyssa willing, eventually destroyed – the Humans.
Fixed it for you!
this is why communism is good
A fair start for everyone,
You can look up the videos just like everyone else. How is it not fair? Are you blocked by the channel?
As a Guardian, I felt like Light Fields were pretty subpar. Light Aura actually feels pretty cool. Perma retaliation, and vulnerability. Thanks ANet!
This is more a comment on the fan’s reactions. I don’t think anyone at PC gamer tested it. They certainly didn’t say they did.
Ofcourse they don’t say it u whiteknight.
When I read a review on a gamesite and I don’t see anything where they litteraly tell that they played the game, then man, I won’t take that review seriously!!!Dude, your white knighting is losing its touch.
He’s not a white knight. However, I can’t state my opinion of what he really is, since I’ll get an infraction again. Just bear in mind that he is able to actively defend the game for at least 8 hours a day (check his posting history) and does so on every thread, with a PR-esque demeanor.
Nice implication. I could just have a lot of free time, and not like people who use hyperbole to try to make a point. You probably haven’t noticed there are a number of complaint threads every single day that I don’t post in.
I’ll post in this one, because the title of the thread is not what the article says, which makes it misleading. This isn’t PR talk…it’s fact. PC magazine is reporting on the fan reaction. My opinion is that it’s an over-reaction, but that’s just that…my opinion.
I post for a lot more than 8 hours a day. That’s because I’m always on the computer, I have duel monitors and I haven’t slept since the 70s. lol
Haha, sleep. I haven’t had a body since launch when I uploaded my consciousness to the cloud.
No. GW2 is fine without mounts, and would be terrible with them.
They only said fans reacted badly, they haven’t said anything on it other than he was looking forward to the balance changes.
I’ve actually commented on this more than once, but recently:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/I-have-a-question-about-the-economy/page/12#post4376858"
Attempting to track people manually isn’t effective. If we suspect it’s getting unwieldy we have a numbers of options to make insider traders (and them only) lose large quantities of money. We’ve done this before to destabilize insider trading as an idea and will likely do it again."I do not consider it insider trading once the information is released to the public in any form.
edit: Adding the post text so you don’t have to click if you don’t want to
Well now I’m afraid of youtube videos, haha.
Is there a way to ascend my Elegant Armorsmith Backpack? Unfortunately it’s level 78, so I can’t put any orbs into the upgrade slot. If there isn’t a way to ascend it, can I at least upgrade it to level 80?
Maybe now I’ll actually use my light fields (besides Wall of Reflection).
And all the players in-game I know love the idea of a level increase.
the majority differs from the few on this site that “claims” they representing the majority.
You claim to know what the people want, and then say people on the forums don’t know what the people want. Make up your mind lol.
I really hope so, that’s probably the only way to retain veteran players, beside new content.
really? all of the players I know hate the idea of raising the level cap
And all the players in-game I know love the idea of a level increase. Let’s get some thing straight here, the people here constitute a very very very small minority of players.
Anet, please don’t listen to a handful of players. Keeping it the same is keeping the status quo, the game needs a change, either level increase or content.
All of the players I know in game hate the idea. Anet, please don’t listen to one player.
And who should they listen to? The people that demand all these changes, then when Anet does make it happen…those same people turn around and criticize for making the change they requested.
If I was Anet, the forum people are the last I would take advise from, please make an in-game poll for players. They’ll see the majority differs from the few on this site that “claims” they representing the majority.
…I just want to point out that you claimed to represent the majority. You don’t. Afaik the first Guild Wars never included a level cap change, and still had players playing.
Quote from Mike O’Brien
“we’ve always expected that we will someday raise the level cap in GW2”
Someday, I will leave GW2.
I can’t download the thing until tomorrow: is it true that if you create an alt, ore nodes and vistas are locked until you reach a certain level?
Probably. Seems like another stupid decision Anet would make haha.
You can get a refund. They’ve talked about this a bunch. Contact customer support.

Anet should’ve made these items soulbound on acquire. This would’ve prevented all of this.
No, no no and no. Breath of Kralkatorikk (an item from a collection) should not be soulbound on acquire, and neither should the other exotic components. Once the economy balances out, we’ll be glad we can buy the items.
Once the economy balances out? The economy almost never balances out after one of these changes, and the inside traders that took advantage are still the ones who benefit the most, and the earliest. I don’t want to wait six months to get this achievement when I could have gotten it today.
“Balances out” does not mean that it will go back to the old price. Would you rather they be soulbound? How does that benefit anyone? I’m totally against ANet putting info like this up before the patch, but congrats on defeating your strawman.
Anet should’ve made these items soulbound on acquire. This would’ve prevented all of this.

The economy doesn’t worry me.
If someone can buy all these items, then where is the effort required to achieve these? Not everything should be bought with gold or gems.
But I don’t want to be stuck with exotics like Bone Fragments of Tequatl. These items weren’t soulbound before, they shouldn’t be soulbound after.
Anet should’ve made these items soulbound on acquire. This would’ve prevented all of this.

A heavy Dervish. With the silence of the six gods, the defensive power of the Dervish has weakened, requiring heavier armor for the once holy warriors.
Then how the heck are people already profiteering on it? The patch hasn’t hit.
Other insiders/speculators are buying from the insiders/speculators.
Um .. what is a “home instance chest?” I don’t find it on the wiki or in a TP search.
It’s a new item seen in the youtube previews.
Can you prove that this isn’t just a bunch of speculators?
There is probably legitimate concern due to the previews that have been posted on youtube over the last couple of days. WoodenPotatoes has done 2. Someone else has done 1 that I’ve seen, and there’s a 3 part preview in German. Some of which cover the various collections, their requirements, and their rewards in some detail.
Edit: I’m curious about the guides though. I haven’t seen those.
I’m not familiar with the workings of a market, but when it’s posted freely online, that doesn’t really require you to be an “insider”.
Please no. That would be the point where I leave the game.
Can you prove that this isn’t just a bunch of speculators?
The problem with zerker fests are that you have no alternative.
Even if you would to do something else there are no skills for that.
Guardian Hammer auto-attack gives permanent protection, reducing all incoming damage by 33%. There’s a “tank” skill right there.
“Warriors betters stop QQing about the nerf”
Or what?
I believe mage is referring to the (lack of) realism of the players carrying around the most extra weight being the fastest.
Warriors and Guardians would have gone through intense conditioning though, wouldn’t they? After backpacking 30 miles over three days, I stopped noticing the backpack. They would’ve been training for longer and get to the point where they function normally while being weighed down.
Might be a little op. The thing about direct damage, is you need three stats to do decent damage with it. With condition damage, you only need one stat. That’s why you do it over time. Really, the best option would be to just remove to condition cap, but that’s not gonna happen anytime soon.
