Yeah I know all too well about the half step one where your character goes to step but doesnt (screwed me over in JP’s far too much), this one is where my character still does actions except moving, unless I force the movement key or evade, may shadowstep. Like I’m legitimately stuck, as your last one describes
I don’t know if I’m the only one who gets this, but sometimes when I’m using mainly the shortbow and am using high amounts of evading, via evading or disabling shot and shadowstepping either by the utility or the arrow, I sometimes find that my character will jut refuse to do any sort of movement action afterward unless I sstep again or sometimes evade, does this happen with anyone else?
I will be the first to say that these pieces of work are absolutely amazing. The reaism and shade effects in the background are cool. I’ve had an idea for my necro that these fit. Sadly, the price is so high : S completely understandable with the amount of work put in. I’ve seen people do work similar to this and charge real money of the same figure or higher! So 200g is actually quite cheap in terms of real money not being spent. So i want you to know you’re incredible. Keep it up

My understanding is that they don’t. They do have feelings for others, but it’s mentally based rather than physical. More about emotion and romance than physical attraction. The race is only a resemblance of the humanoid form, they have no sexual organs and so don’t have that drive. They may be compelled to seek out a partner for companionship, or enter a relationship with someone who is very alike in mind and personality, but since sex is not an issue then neither is gender. This is the viewpoint I’ve gathered from in-game as well as official online writings. I’m working on the books, so I’ll keep an eye out for anything mentioned there.
The question about incest is an interesting one, I guess it depends on your view point. According to the societal rules we have now, then yes. But life has to start somewhere, and after many generations they would be just like humans in that regard. We don’t have to worry about this question though, since they can’t reproduce.
I wish I could find the quote, but I actually do remember a line of dialogue in game about a male Sylvari “hitting on” a female. This kind of behavior does present the idea that there could be some level of physical attraction between Sylvari.
I would also like to bring up that when Sylvari have no cloths, they have leaves covering areas that would have genitalia or nipples on the female.. Anet could have easily just had those be empty spaces (barbie doll anatomy) and maintain the age rating, but they specifically chose to have the leaves as cover. I just find this is something of note.
That because those leaves covering the lower regions are indeed covering something. Sylvari have external organs that mimic ours, just not the internal components that give them purpose. But those leaves are indeed covering something, it’s not blank. Now to m understanding, sylvari relationships aren’t about finding the most compatible person to have offspring with( even humans do this. You may not consciously think it, but biological roots tell us why humans are attracted to some and not others, you want the best possible combination of traits for young) but rather finding those whom you feel a deep emotional connection with. BECAUSE OF THIS, things like gender and even race do not matter for sylvari, which is also why I hypothesize that sex isn’t ultimately what they are after( I mean a plug needs a socket not another plug :p). But the wiki says even sylvari have sex, but it’s strictly for intimacy between individuals as the Pale Tree takes care of reproduction. Also I reckon looks do have a part in attraction for them. The Pale Tree wanted sylvari to look human to fit in and be an attractive and welcoming race, and there use to be a sylvari in LA that showed signs of lust for a norn male walking by.
I enjoyed it. You went outnumbered against ham warriors which do fine againt thieves by themselves so that was a nice use of blind fielding, in fact that’s what this vid highlights, the use of black powder to mitigate extreme punishment

To clear up everyone’s name: caveman must have been under the false impression that I rely on Shadow Step to cure condition. Let me make the claim that this is not true. I have Cloak and Dagger and IR before I’ll need SS, and even then I may use Blinding Powder first, but you are right, SS does have superior mobility and is a double stun break, making if better than RFI for other builds not this one. It is because it cures conditions is why Interceptor is making a valid point. S/D may have an easy time avoiding physical damage, but condition damage can eat you alive. If I use SS as my immediate stun break, I don’t know what nasty condition may come at me next. I should’ve added, Pain Response is another trait I sometimes put into this build.
Impact was just expressing his beliefs and trying to establish a medium between the debate vs RFI and SS, that was all he was doing, Interceptor probably got defensive since he tried telling caveman that the thread was going off topic (and trying to explain why RFI was the better stun break for this build) with that discussion yet someone else tried to “revive” the discussion causing the thread to derail further, and I should add, both are very good and I have both guys..

Shadow Refuge “pulses” it’s effects, each pulse applies the effects once the “hut” over the are indicates that there are pulses remaining. While there are pulses remaining everyone leaving the are of effect (the big circle indicates that area) will be revealed, so stay inside until the hut disappears. The reaveal effect also happens if you get forcefully moved outside by a knockback or pull.
This is enough, basically, stay inside it until it disappears or leave and get revealed
Trickery is not well suited for s/d because it does very little to cover up the after cast of the sword skills. Acrobatics provides more dodges than trickery and that difference is make or break for s/d. S/P and D/P do well with trickery because s/p can evade while dpsing (s/d can’t) and d/p compensates with more evades from shortbow (spend most of the time in shortbow not d/p), blinds, and stealth.
This has been proven time and time again.
Or you can do both like I do and others like Arganthium. Trickery with Acrobatics does surprisingly well with sword dagger, combined with the amazingly low CD of steal afterward for extra steps
Thanks for the replies guys, ultimate I’m going to have to seete changes forthcoming before finalizing this, but I’ll take this into consideration, especially food.
@Caveman shadowstep is indeed a nice stun breaker but I will not hesitate to use it if I have to cure a fatal condition immediately, even IR has a cast time which I’ve seen actually make a huge difference, so my go to stun break for this build is RFI first as priority, then shadowstep
What if i tried 0/30/0/20/20? Poor condi removal, but if i can just evade them in the first place then thats even better. And long reach and bountiful theft are sooo good
Now don’t bite my head off for this, but in that regard why not go 0/10/10/20/30 only being that since you werent planning on going sleight anyway, you can go for Thrill. That combined with Power of Inertia will steadily increase damage output the more you evade. But that’s just theorizing with what you have. If it’s for WvW I would take At least some decent condi removal, esp with an SD build you can’t evade everything all of the time
EDIT im tired scratch that, dont go 10 in CS youd might as well put it into DA so try the original build. Maybe split up Acro for some trix? or go 0/20/10/20/20

I only went 10 in SA, double checked the link to make sure. Wondering if i can do better with the gear, and if maybe blind on stealth or infusion of shadow (to turn into more 3 spam) might be worth it
Whoops then I mis-remembered, then carry on anyways, the build looks solid. You don’t need Trickery for the sword as for gear, its hard to say. Honestly for now Id say the best thing is to field test this, and see if you need more hp or toughness.
I mean it’s a nice build overall. not much else to say really since most S/D builds follow the same formula. You got nice condi removal. Excellent. Evades for acrobatics…really I can’t say much else. An alternative to SR is BP for quicker stealth as well but play how you want. My alternate build uses SD as well and goes 10/0/10/20/30, SA only used for condi clears, utilies nearly the same as yours, Trickery is very nice for sword builds but its optional. But don’t listen to me, play your build, it looks well rounded. only thing is the full on in SA is what im scepticle about..I feel as though you didnt need to go all the way in there
One of my alternate build is the Mirage 10/0/10/20/30. What those traits are doesn’t matter except that second 10, Shadow’s Embrace. Condi clear there, Condi clear on sword, Utilities are Withdraw, Shadow Step, Blinding Powder/Shadow Refuge, RFI. Now then for a dancing build, it actually has a decent amount of condition removal, Basilisk Venom was another condi removal due to Lyssa. However with the upcoming change to the runes, I feel as though other alternatives may be needed (of course this is debatable as I usually save B venom for when im condi spammed but the boons are -really- nice). So if these runes do get swapped out, would a nice alt be Eagle or Scholar? I know ferocity will be a thing so this is crucial. Btw, all armor for this build is zerk while trinkets is mostly knights with some soldiers.

Nope. Mass Invis applies a stealth buff that’s different from other stealth sources. This essentially wastes the duration of MI if it’s longer than 5 seconds.
Oh I worded wrong, I know you’ll get two different stealth buffs but I meant you’d still be in stealth anyway j think from the longer stealth. I mean an elite is wasted but it’s not like a longer stealth like SR is wasted by a 5 second stealth and while were are in this topic, isn’t decoy it’s own stealth as well? Like it’s very own buff that stealths you? If so can it bypass revealed ?

I hate playing thief. I think I just don’t get gw2 version of thief. Even though I hate playing them watching them is amazing easily most interesting class to watch in pvp spectator mode.

The green line disqualifies them from being a jukester. One aspect of juking is to making your pursuer to think you are going one way when you’re actually going another way and stealth is the best tool for juking.
Well I wouldn’t say this disqualifies them as the term juking can be applied to real life where stealth doesn’t exist in gaming sense, I’d jut say necros are less effective at juking since someone who knows how they work ie me knows exactly where they went, around a corner though ala Battle of Kylo it’s pretty effective
Crucial point to knowing what they will do next is their weapon layout. DP will stay near you but blind you heavily and occasionally backstab, SD will dance around you, DD will always try to stay close to you- if they back away something is wrong on their end, PD only worry when they run at you CnD is crucial to their skill rotation or they’ll even shadow strike, SP will shadow step a lot to get off PW and you’ll be met with blinds, fight them accordingly

Basically to summarize:
A lot if people hate stealth since they don’t know how to deal with it and refuse to learn how. thieves hands down have the most access to stealth AND SA buffs the stealth we so abuse. Now because if this a lot of people believe this class to be even easier than the warrior class (lol) so other thieves sometimes go on pride runs to use builds that don’t use stealth to prove they don’t need it, but then they are usually heavily evasive and people still complain anyway. In summary, the ones who hate SA are usually the ones who hate thieves period…..or stealth
As a bonus note, many and I mean many people dont realize most thieves use stealth 80% jut to do damage, not even to annoy or disorient. If a guardians invulnerable elite skill was spammable and had to be used before the guardian could do any meaningful damage, the same would apply here, they aren’t going invulnerable to annoy you, that’s one of the only ways they can get meaningful hits out
How you describe it at least, makes it the same exact thing in essence. You want them to replace keys with boxes you flat out open, which is what double clicking a key essentially is (it’s even replaced with an openable chest). And you said nothing about affecting the RNG of regular chests. This implies keeping the drop rate of regular chests the same and changing key’s to open boxes, needlessy cutting out a middle man. They’d most likely charge you for the same amount as a normal key anyway and the drop rate for these new boxes would likely be the same as a key.
As I said you probably mean different but how you worded the post, what I essentially got was a needless change.
