First PvP character was a mesmer, took it in to PvP and completely destroyed back when people thought the mesmer was worthless. Then I deleted it because I realized I was being a complete kittenbag and felt like a horrible person. Haven’t taken a mesmer in to PvP since.
Quit assuming that every player who disagrees with you has no experience.
And no, conditions can pop on clones and waste your builds entire offensive power just like every other ability.
The mesmer class is broken, try being productive and suggesting fixes that will retain what you like about the class instead of insisting that people should be okay with fighting an opponent that removes all counterplay from any fight.
Since the olden days people have learned to counter mesmers. I rarly see a Mesmer in sPvP, I wonder if there is a reason for that? I would assume you have no experience with a Mesmer based on your post.
I rarely see a match without them, neither my personal perceptions nor yours are empirical evidence. There are people who think they are fine, and people who think they are not.
But isn’t it funny how all those who think mesmers are okay are mesmer players? While we have both mesmer and non-mesmer players who think they’re not?
I think there is an experience/skill disparity then. I never have a problem with a Mesmer, I do have problems with good players. A good Mesmer is good and a bad Mesmer is bad. There is nothing OP about that. Because I play a Mesmer I know exactly what I hate while playing a Mesmer and I do that to other mesmers while I am playing one of my other 5 80’s. I rarely played my Mesmer until recently when I saw all of the QQ about condition mesmers. I played one for a bit and was like meh, what is the big deal, it’s just like every other class (lol except for ranger) I will kill the bad masses with confusion because they cannot handle it. The good players shrug it off and continue on with a good fight. If it was OP I could just run around killing all no matter what. Skills should not be balanced around the lowest common denominator.
I tend to do mostly events in PvE, I’ve been running around some higher level areas lately, but the drops I get are pathetic. Yes, magic find gear is supposed to help, but a full set can cost you upwards of 50g. I just spend about 10g equipping and crafting myself some new exotic armor, and now I’m down to about 20g total between all my toons.
So, what do you people do to earn gold?
Wait, let me guess: Run dungeons (I’m looking at you, CoF P1)?
Is that the only way to earn gold with your time? By farming and repeating the same freakin areas over and over again?At the rate at which I earn money in pve via events and selling the mats and very very rare Rare item I get, i earn … maybe… 1 gold per 4 hours. Barely enough for two gambles at the Cattlepult.
Come on ANet! I know the economy is meant to be balanced and you put in all these gold sinks, but the current system rewards constant grinding! There’s no inscentive NOT to grind (other than I hate grinding) – since it’s just about the most profitable venture you can do!
It’s not even that challenging, it’s just time consuming. There’s no skill in grinding – its repeating the same content over and over again. No rewards are given for varying your non-grind activities at all!
I can earn up to maybe 5g on a good night in WvW. That is about 2-4 hours of playing.
If I really need to hit it hard for some gold I run fractals and dungeons, I refuse to grind so I will not spam CoF1. If you have a lot of karma the orrian jewelry boxes can be profitable if you are lucky. I got a bunch of charged cores last time I gambled with them and out of 100 boxes made about 40g.

I was referring to spreading a confusion bomb. For example, a Mesmer does an AoE bomb that stacks 5 confusion on 5 people. If I epidemic that confusion some will have 10 stacks.
Hey man, I’m all for confusion now. I’m the one applying, spreading, and/or flipping confusion onto the people that cast it. I LOVE IT and now that I can use it I think it’s totally balanced now, of course.
Ha I learn something new everyday. This had no occurred to me. I usually just try to get as many stacks as possible on one person, I can usually get maybe 12 and then someone will epidemic that around. Lol at the way you do it, I can’t wait to get on tonight.
The persons bar shows 3 stacks then you zoom in, so we can’t see how many stacks, also how long did the 12 stacks last? if you got them, confusion stacks fade really quickly anyway.
The guy in the vid continued to attack with the pink glow of pain on his head proving the l2p point people keep making.
There is nothing he can do while ppl are standing in his wells, it’s not like he can turn them off lol. The confusion was proccing off of the well he put on the ground.
P/V/T is mostly used for bunker specs. I think it would be the most useful on d/d or s/d elementalist and rangers.
Confusion is the most broken thing in WvW now that culling and stealth have been addressed. Damage on skill use is a just a bad mechanic in general, but it make no sense for it to do as much damage as it does.
The best solution imo, is to change it so that it stacks duration instead of intensity and boost the damage a bit to compensate. The reason this is the best solution is because otherwise mass confusion stacking using mesmer spam and epidemic becomes absurdly powerful in big fights. Losing 5-10k hp on 1 skill use simply should not be possible.
The easiest and most likely solution is simply to make WvW confusion damage match sPvP damage.
To get that much damage per skill you will need like 13 to 25 stacks of confusion. A glamour mesmer can not, I will repeat a mesmer can not give you that much confusion stacks.
You know what would be cool? It would be cool if people actually read the things they respond to. Or maybe it’s a more fundamental reading comprehension problem?
The person said mass stacking and using epidemic so he isn’t talking about a single Mesmer and an epidemic will double the stacks of whatever the mesmers put on. Now, it’s not that easy to pull off but getting that many stacks is very doable with good coordination.
Hell, here I am getting 12 stacks of confusion using well of corruption and epidemic and I’m a necro.
Epidemic does not double the stacks it just spreads it to anyone else in the area, up to 5 more I think. This is very hard to do and you have to be very coordinated. As a necro you should almost never be hit by confusion you have at least 2 skills to remove conditions.
Epidemic: Apply vulnerability on yourself. Spread conditions on a target foe to all nearby foes.
I’m not sure what the build was but I’ve seen se pretty tanky Necros in WvW. So I don’t think you’re without options.
Necros are fine, I get more bags on my necro than any other class.
If you are stacked by a glamourmesmer, basically even breathing will kill you.
Close quarters with HGH engi is even worse because he will cc the crap out of you and even using a stunbreaker will kill you.
Swap to water and dodge = dead.
So what does an elementalist do if he cannot even swap attunements withoug getting 7-10k dps?

I think you are running into more than 1 glam Mesmer if you are getting hit for 7-10k. That is 20+ stacks of confusion, there is no Mesmer that can stack 20 confusion an anyone.
I have been playing my Mesmer lately because of all of the confusion QQ lately. Here is what I see.
1) I am extremely squishy if I want to do max confusion damage.
2) In a zerg I am lucky to get 4-5 stacks on more than a few people, the smart players remove it before it does too much damage/stop attacking/or there is so much AoE condition removal going around that my stacks last for only a few ticks.
3) Against a group of unorganized pugs – I cast my glamour fields and they run through them over and over obtaining stack after stack of confusion, I watch them slowly kill themselves as t6hey continue to attack through it and laugh.
4) 1 v1 u’r gonna have a hard time killing me because you will almost never be able to attack. But that is why confusion was nerfed in sPvP, WvW is not a 1v1.
Edit: I just went back and read through more of the thread and Zumi, I think you are confusing WvW for sPvP.

Why would anyone ever want to play a condition build in PvE when every class has an infinity more powerful in every single way berzerker build?
Because not everyone uses maximized damage output as the main factor in deciding their characters’ build and play style.
Condition damage barely helps in PvE though. Heals, boons and so on offer other options, also conditions like vulnerability, cripple and so on, but they’re again not affected by conditon damage. And then there’s the stack cap and Defiant. Lots of condition hate in PvE. Let’s not even talk about confusion.
The stack cap really ruins it. That is why I changed my necro to power. If you have more than 1 condition applier in your group you are really kitten I keep my condition gear handy thoug hcuz I like dot specs.
This is the only way I play. Level one character to 80, get all exotics and the skins I want for that character, and then I level the next. I only have ascended gear on my main character, though, or ells it would take way too long.
I have 6 80’s in full exo’s. My biggest dilemma is which one to play. It is really annoying.
The key is to make sure you play all your characters, is to have each one of them fill a role. So one character might be full bunker, another might be bunker+support, a third might be focused around sharing boons, a fourth might be precision focused dps, a fifth condition damage focused dps, and so on.
I do this, but I still find that I only play 2 or 3 professions and 1 I main for WvW. The biggest problem is I will play one for an hour then change to another and so on lol.
I am going to try to only play 2 of them for a while and see how long that lasts.

This is exactly why. However with the advent of Giver’s gear & food it is now possible to at least get to:
10*10 (Berserker) > 10*5 (Vatlaaws/Carron). P.S. I know they have more surivablity, but there isn’t another stat that adds to damage.
They really need to have gear that gives the stats of:
Precision/Condition Dmg(the max stat)/Condition Duration (5% per piece)That is the only way that condition damage will be somewhere on par with Berserker. This would give builds like the Engineer and other condition users more viable builds.
Until then condition damage will always be weaker and people will continue to run without condition removal in WvW.
So you are one of those that continue to attack while my confusion ticks on you for 3k per hit. It never fails to amaze me how many ppl die from confusion when almost all classes have at least on condition removal skill.
Now tell me how it will feel to walk through 7 fields that stack 2 confusions on you instantly (->14) every time you walk in or out, walking over portal exit and entrance that will stack 4 confusions on you for each mesmer, getting projectile finishers on you that will stack another 8 stacks of confusions on you. And all of this time you will be permablinded and stuff.
If you ever actually had this happen to you, you’re simply the worst WvW player in existence. Triggering the confusion when you have 25 stacks on you instead of waiting until it wears off is even more stupid. And triggering it again after you were hit for 10k damage for the first time is the zenith of stupidity.

Rapid, Carrion, Rampager
They all just do terrible damage compared to berzerker. Why is this? Why would anyone ever want to play a condition build in PvE when every class has an infinity more powerful in every single way berzerker build?
I mean, even condition necros do awful damage compared do a berzerker necro build.
Is it just that rampager’s is terrible (mainstat percision wtf) and rapid and carrion both only have 2 offensive stats?
Is it that condition duration has a cap at 100% where crit damage is infinite?
Who knows, all I know is that condition builds are bad, and people should feel bad about them.

Because a DoT spec is fun to play. If I wasn’t in WvW most of the time I would go to condition Necro for PvE.
I only got the game in December and really didn’t give it much thought in the beginning as it was the first MMO I’d ever played. However, once I decided to start making a bit of money, the gain at first was awesome (for me anyway). Made my first 100g fairly easily once I figured out what I needed to do. However, now it feels like there is no end in sight – I’ve been level 80 for a couple of months, I’ve got 100% map and I have 400 in every crafting discipline. Now I’m really just looking to buy up some nice items to mess with but it just seems to be a total slog fest now to get anything decent.
I love the game a lot and have enjoyed it immensely, but now I’m just bored – an Exotic drop once every two weeks just isn’t doing it for me.at least you are getting exotic drops.
I have only gotten only ONE rare drop on Orr in my entire gaming life……
My recommendation for getting exotic drops is not using magic find gear but using zerker gear and running fotm with magic food. Always do the even numbers so you get the green boss thing. I forgot it’s name lol.
Magic gear doesn’t work in my opinion so avoid it.
I believe drops and quality are mostly based on damage numbers.
Misconception there, I do have zerker gear, including trinkets and all. The MF comes explicity from runes and gems.
Weird I have jatoro on 2 toons and yakkington’s on the other and neither show any effect at all unless magic find = porous bones.
I think MF = 2-3 porous bones to my 1 porous bone with no MF gear. I don’t think MF affects the quality just the quantity.

What do you mean by “aoe fear”?
All those seem like bad play and/or trying to exploit mechanics in ways that are not intended… visually cluttering an area to render it difficult to use is not valid game play, imho.
The #2 skill on a flame ram is an AoE fear.
Out of curiosity why do you not like the server you are on? And why did you transfer the first time.
Maybe it is not possible for you to find what you are looking for. Also for the most part you cannot judge a server by its lower level zones.
I think it is hilarious that you quit the game because of this before LOL.
It’s called research, I did it and only had to transfer once to get the server that was perfect for me. You are making this soooooo much more complicated than it needs to be.
Yes its called WvW.
1) rams placed in front of your own keep door often have to be destroyed before rams can be used on the gate
2) Rams in a chokepoint can be used for AOE fear
3)Rams near your siege can be used to hide other siege weapons as well as being utilized as an aoe fear to keep zergs from overrunning your siege
And on top of this there is a very good place to put a ram in a garrison to keep people off the 3rd floor.
The AoE fear on a flame ram is OP if used properly. Especially in the entrance to a keep lords room on hills.

In all honesty, do what people are saying and just guest on different homeworlds until you find the one you want and your cooldown wears off. You can guest to two different servers every 24 hours, so in 6 days I’m sure you’ll find a good home.
In other news, HoD has a great community.
But then I’ll have to make a new character if I want to guest anywhere, and when I can finally transfer again, I’ll have to pay money, or delete my character and start over again on the new server I want, when instead I should just be able to start over new on the server I want right now, and delete my character and start over again somewhere else if I want to. But instead I have to wait 6 days to be able to start over new. Can you see why that is really annoying and doesn’t make any logical sense?
I don’t understand why guesting is any different than what you are doing. You could not be doing much on the char you create as you intend to delete it anyway. Why not create a low level char and guest on a server for a couple hours, then move to another for a couple of hours. This is no different than transferring playing for a few hours and deleteing and transdferring again.
What if in the period of those 6 days I find a server I want to stay on? I’m going to have to wait before I can fully settle myself on there. I won’t be able to progress a character because I will either have to eventually delete it or pay money to transfer it, so I’m not able to play for a possible period of 6 days. I don’t see the point in making a new character when I have all these restrictions and even if I do guest I’m not going to be able to fully pick a server I want to play on in possibly 6 days from now. At this point I don’t even know if I want to play at all if I have to jump through all these hoops just to be able to pick a server to call home.
What server are you on now and what servers are you looking at. Maybe some of us on the forums can help you narrow it down so you only have to do this one more time. You can narrow it down and spend the next 6 days guesting on a couple to see how you like them. What are you looking for in a server?
What’s the point? I’m just going to have to delete it after 6 days anyway for sure. If this restriction wasn’t here, then if I picked a home world and enjoyed it, I wouldn’t have to delete my character to be able to stay there, I could just stay there and keep progressing. It just seems pointless to me at this point to try to keep playing when I know I won’t be able to freely pick a home world that I want to keep characters on and be able to progress them.

It just doesn’t make sense to me why I’m not able to freely transfer when I don’t have any characters at all. If I delete all of my characters on my account, I should be able to start over new wherever I want without a cooldown or something.

This is to stop opposing servers in WvW from having too many spies. A person could keep 2 accounts, one they play on and another they spy on. If the spy account can just keep deleting char and moving they could easily spy on both servers at any time depending on who was winning that week. And they could also use this to move to other new servers if the matchup changed.
how would that even work? If one account keeps deleting chars and transferring without a cooldown to “spy” on wvw, the main account still has to pay to transfer (assuming it also has no cd even though it still has chars).
Edit: I see what you mean now. Spying is just to obtain info, not to transfer to another server. Even then, who would go through all the trouble just to know which borderland is safe to go to?
Lol, tons of people spy with a second account everyday. There are a lot of people that would do this.

Stealth is being reverted lol, be prepared to see thieves everywhere again. Also it takes a long time to get more than 4 stack of confusion on someone. You also have to be very coordinated to get 10+ stacks and an epidemic off. Confusion is fine.
I’m not sure the change to stealth is going to have that large an impact. I think it’s just the meta to zerg on zerg is becoming that much more common that thieves simply don’t have a functional use anymore. This more than anything explains their decline.
And it really doesn’t take much time at all for a Mesmer to stack confusion. Maybe take awhile for a Warrior or Ranger or something. But not a Mesmer.
I don’t think the stealth will make much of a difference either it wasn’t much of a problem before the nerfed it. I takes a while to get 10 stacks on one person and it is even harder to get more than 4 on a group of people if they have half a brain. I know when I see this huge glamour field in front of me I avoid it.

Rams should be reworked to only be placeable within attack range of an enemy door, and to automatically de-spawn once that door’s tower/keep flips.
then you don’t even need to worry about managing a cap for them.

If they all stack up then it’s our zerg of AoE users versus yours.
If they spread out a little bit then our zerg of thieves will obliterate your your zerg of AoE.
In reality all zergs will be a mix of AE and single target killers (like now) but they will be forced to spread out more. So contrary to your belief, increasing the AoE cap will actually make the single target killers far more valuable than they are today. Right now the single target killers get lost in the blob and killed. If we force the blob to spread out more, that will help.
A zerg of 60 necros would be able to lay so many marks/wells down that nothing would be able to get within 1200 range lol. This is about 420 wells/marks lol, they could be spread out so far that no even a double dodge roll would get through it. Then have about 20 condition mesmers with you and anything would be dead long before melee got anywhere near it.
Yeah they would have to spread out a little bit, and that would make it even worse for melee lol. as of now you at least have a counter by stacking.

You can transfer free if you have no characters on your account.
From the wiki:The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.
I have tried exiting my client and reopening it, but I am still not able to transfer home worlds. I transferred yesterday to the home world I’m on now, and I deleted the one character I had on it, but it says I am on a 6 day cooldown.
Guesting is free. Why don’t you guest until you find the homeworld you want stay on and then move saving you all this headache.
List of things this game needs to discourage zerging:
Larger maps, more reasons to defend, more reasons to do small groups (the fact that it’s technically more efficient to do so ain’t translating to actual gameplay), more strategy, less reward>high strategy mentality, more impact of small group play.The AoE cap removal might help, but it might also devolve gameplay even more towards AoE spam, the difference being the zerg to most efficiently stack AoE would be victorious.

I actually hope they remove the cap so the zergs get worse and it ends up being who can mark up the other zerg faster. This is a terrible idea.

Sigh, a lot of people forget we were dominated in T2 for something like 10 weeks before we finally started gaining some steam.

My only issue with them is that they are gated behind RNG and since the game hates me I don’t want to waste money on those (I will only get the greens lol)

Nope, I made over 100g selling them for outrageous prices the first couple of days they were out.
Confusion is the most broken thing in WvW now that culling and stealth have been addressed. Damage on skill use is a just a bad mechanic in general, but it make no sense for it to do as much damage as it does.
The best solution imo, is to change it so that it stacks duration instead of intensity and boost the damage a bit to compensate. The reason this is the best solution is because otherwise mass confusion stacking using mesmer spam and epidemic becomes absurdly powerful in big fights. Losing 5-10k hp on 1 skill use simply should not be possible.
The easiest and most likely solution is simply to make WvW confusion damage match sPvP damage.
Stealth is being reverted lol, be prepared to see thieves everywhere again. Also it takes a long time to get more than 4 stack of confusion on someone. You also have to be very coordinated to get 10+ stacks and an epidemic off. Confusion is fine.
There is already a way to move your legendary to another char on your account, so I am not sure what the purpose of the stone would be. Making something sellable that was SB would not work very well. Nothing is SB in D3 and everything is still very expensive.
TC needs to pack their bags and go get kitten smashed face rolled in T1.

I am wondering if this is going to turn into a T1.5 thing again where there are 2 servers that are to good for T2 but not good enough for T1. At least none of us are waking up and there is a server ticking 625+ from PvDooring all night.

I will quit the game if their is any more gear progression past ascended. I have spent years playing games hardcore for the gear grind and am past that, it really makes the games boring. I am just not able to grind raids for gear anymore. I like playing semi-hardcore/casual and not feeling like I am constantly falling behind if I am not there everyday or 3-4 days a week farming raids. Even ascended gear is such a small increase I don’t care if I get it and they made it easy to get now. I have 1 char out of my 6 80’s that I run through fractals very casually, that is the only reason I need ascended for.
I would really like to see some much better skins in the future, but WvW really keeps me entertained for now.
so if you can apply confusion to a zerg with just 5 players and all zerg have to stop attacking/evading….
I bet the friendly zerg has a sudden attack of sportmanship and stop attacking…
Or maybe not and while you opponent zerg cleanse they just roflstomp anyone they can.
Nope they are usually all downed. For some reason people just attack through confusion and kill themselves. A good group will have a few classes that can remo0ve conditions, and then I get 2 shot by anyone of them because I have to be really squishy to do good damge in a glam spec.
You want to really wreck a zerg fast, get a group made up of 2 glam mesmers and 3 necros lol. Have a Mesmer call target and get like 10+ stacks of confusion going on a target. Then have the necros Epedemic lol then watch the 3k+ pink numbers float through the whole zerg.
Confusion is not broken. I still have yet to by killed by it. Learn to cleans/ stop attaqcking/or run away.
No need to feel bad, he should not be in WvW if he does not want to fight.

Sometimes I will just camp the JP entrances for fun with my Mesmer.
Yes I understand sPvP and the like are completely different, but I outmatched him in skill, he was making beginner’s mistakes with his Thief… he just.. was CONSTANTLY in stealth. I received backstab like 5 times.
Does anyone have any sort of strategy for fighting these things?
Welcome to the WvW Thief, you’d better get used to that fast, be greatful your only starting WvW now, as before they could perma stealth and sit in a corner and prevent capping of points.
Lol they are reverting the stealth change from what I understand.
A lot of thieves in WvW I come across are glass cannon builds so if you can root them for a few seconds in your wells they go down quick. I run staff and D/W power build and after they backstab or heartseeker(lol at thives that open with heartseeker) me they are usually visable for a few seconds. between the staff slow and dagger3 root they are usually downed before my wells are done. If they do manage to get back into stealth they are really low health and I just mark up the ground, They usually reappear downed.
Hmm The problem with what the OP is asking for is that none of the mobs or open world champs/vets really give any indicators for when they are going to attack. Even some of the dungeon bosses are impossible to tell when they are about to one-shot you because of spell effects. Depending on your group composition it can be near impossible to tell when Koehler is going to one-shot you because he is nothing but a ball of light.
If everything had some type of indicator they were going to do certain attacks then I would be fine with 2 shot mechanics.
If you bring a lot of staff necros and mesmers these fights are all pretty easy. Except for komali, you need to send a small groups of like 10 ppl that are all dps to komali and make sure there is a Mesmer and a staff necro or 2 with them. For komali if you have some really good staff ele’s that can manage to heal your party without hitting komali that can be helpful to only if they can heal without hitting him, if they hit komali he scales and makes it tougher.

I am the leader of a guild called [BOOM] on SFR server we have 450 members and usually average anywhere between 80-130 online at any 1 time.
We had been eagerly awaiting guild challenges since the guild missions came out. Finally this week on Saturday we had unlocked it. However i was very disapointed as to how easy it was to complete as i don’t believe it scaled to the amount of players we had at the event.
Im sure this “Challenge” would have been challenging for maybe 0-10 players, but we had 70 completing the guild missions this sunday and the champions we being killed faster than we should be able to kill a veteran.
Im struggling to find things in PVE i can considering challenging and fun at the same time, which is why i was especially looking forward to this guild mission.
I think there is a slight imbalance for the “Big” guilds and the “small” guilds. Things are too easy for us and too hard for the smaller guilds.
I would like to know what everybody elses thoughts on the guild challenges were?

Unfortunately if things were challenging you would not be able to “play the way you want”.
We unlocked challenges this week as well and probably had 60 ppl there for them. It was a joke as nothing seems to scale that high. I am glad it isn’t like Komali but challenges scaling could be stepped up a bit.

Nearly every NA tier, except for T5, has close to a 50K point lead difference.
Besides, everyone knows a 50K point lead at the end of the week doesn’t show the whole picture of the matchup.
I stand by my comment that GoM has not been and is not dominating T8.
lol, ok – im not going to argue with you im not in T8, but 50k to me is domination. Just curious, what score in your book constitutes domination? Most servers could not come back from a 20k point lead.
The belief that any server moving up or down will get ROFLSTOMPED or will ROFLSTOMP the other servers has been shown to not always be true. There have been numerous times when this has been proven incorrect.
Just take the recent moving up of SF and moving down of GoM.
Lol, GoM is dominating T8. SF is doing well but T8 was a special situation, I don’t think anyone disputed the fact the SF would be competitive in T7.

GoM is not dominating T8. They are indeed winning by a good margin right now. T8 has been very competitive and GoM actually placed second their first week in T8. This matchup is actually quite good right now. And I don’t think I have ever seen even one GoM state they are dominating.
And SF is more than competitive in T7. I would be quicker to claim they are dominating T7 before I would make that claim about GoM. SF has been putting up some impressive numbers the last two weeks and will probably move up to T6 in one to two weeks.

How would it be exploited, exactly?
Worst case is someone uses a trial account to go spy and/or siege grief.. but that already happens anyway.
Or a third place server has everyone create characters on the 1st place server in their tier and queue up for WvW and just sit there.
Which results in the third server having less people on to wvw…
Unless they have more than 1 computer in their house.
Edit: I have 3 computers at home. It would not be hard if I had no life to jump on and make 2 trial accounts and leave 2 players sitting at spawn in a BL. It would not take all that many ppl doing this to really creat havoc for a BL/EB
