I’d sincerely like to know where this rumor originated. No endgame? Is a new story campaign, giant map (and completion), crafting, a new set of dungeons, obtaining legendary weapons, and 3 new areas of the map opening up just not enough for you?
Really, where did this originate? There seems to be group who are vocal on the forums who suffer from selective amnesia and denial.
For example, since the game has released there have been quite a few additional dungeons added, at least they would be considered dungeon in most games. However many players selectively chose to deny the existence of them, they consider a new dungeon path to not be a new dungeon (even though it would be if it had it’s own entrance), and of course Fractals of the Mist (and each individual fractal) is also “not a dungeon”.
If you look at the dungeons page on the Wiki, there are 9 dungeons in the game (including Fractals of the Mists). Those dungeons containing 42 different paths. Of those 42 paths, 10 of them (23.8%) didn’t exist at launch, but you’ll still hear people shouting that no new dungeons have been added.
This is true for “End Game” content in general, there has actually been a fair bit of End-Game content added, but you’ll never get some of the people on here to admit it. When you point it out to them you get a bizarre response, generally along the lines of “That doesn’t count because it should have been there since launch”. It might not have even been imagined at launch, but it should have been there anyway, so is not new.
You need to understand that the Living Story is not ‘New Storyline’, any new areas added are not ‘New Maps’ and any new words bosses are not ‘New World Bosses’. I’m pretty sure that anything added at all – unless it comes in the form of a boxed expansion – wont be considered new content by some people here, regardless of what it is, and even if it does come in a boxed expansion, there will probably be a group that denies it’s existence because “it should have been there from the start”.
My advice, would be to just enjoy the game, and not try to “understand” these forums.
I am quoting you “for great wisdom.”
Thank you for expressing what was running through my head as I was reading. And with tasty stats, too? Does it get any better than that!!??
I always had a feeling that the ANet employees were too filtered to really be able to respond to these threads how they would like, and so had to take some vicarious joy when the rare sane post rises to the top of the rabble.
Seriously though, Kaz hits it on the head.
And even if the devs did deliver on the very things people wanted, two months later they’re back in the same bind when the shine wears off :/
Mine would be “The Conquering Slayer of all things Opposing Tyria”
Who gave you that title during your storyline? :p
As the great John Houseman would say, “He earned it.”
• Yes, I spent a lot of my career at Disney, but my passion is building great characters and telling great stories, regardless of genre. So, don’t expect the Elder Dragons to break into song anytime soon.
…what if I promise to buy gems in order to get an Elder Dragon sing along? I didn’t know I wanted this until you said it but please, please Leah…. please give me an Elder Dragon song
Get Amber involved, make it a proper crimsonian Lovecraftesque “Iaii Iaii Zhaitan” kind of tune, and I’m down for 5k gems.
I’m sorry but if humanity lives in Ascalon for 1000 years the Charr have ZERO claim on it, can you imagine Italy
Don’t go there.
There’s nothing good at the end of that road.
Get the word out:
Either zerg changes it ways or the champs will be removed. It always happens.
pssst anet, my past offer of 1000 gems for permanent access to SAB is still on. msg me….
I think it’s going to take more than a Hamilton. Maybe a Grant.
*orr gets cleansed
*destroyers start showing up there
*we find out primordus has surfaced at the ring of firebam just like that we have a reason to go to ring of fire and new mobs to keep orr a level 80 zone
Who needs Primmy? I’m curious about the state of Mursaat Central right now ;D
I’m predicting a noisier and emptier EotM… ;D
ack….. the only api listing for the mask is the old PS reward. Studded Shoulders is only showing up as the old PS reward and the old PvP entry.
What’s the obsession over SAB? I hardly ever see anyone using the weapons or titles from that place, so I doubt more than a very few spent enough time in there to be bothered getting them. I personally did though, and it was a mixed experience, one I’m in the end glad I don’t have to go through again.
Doing the new storymode and getting achivements from it and Dry Top, collecting coins etc., had a SAB light feeling to it. If it’s just for the old-school graphics, then this game probably isn’t the right one to be playing.
I have all three Greatswords and the main warhorn active on four different characters; keep in mind that those offhands don’t tend to stand out.
But I figure the real reason they aren’t so prevalent is that there’s a lot of competition in that wardrobe.

Good luck, man
I hope I am in the correct place to add a suggestion for the skin_details.
It would be great to have an attribute skinset or something like that.
This way you could group the skins by their set (for example: all embroidered items). Currently I am missing this option in the game as well as in the API.
Until this is implemented (if it will be) there is no other way than to take all but the last word of the skin as name of the skin set.
Has anyone experienced if this approach is more or less reliable?
Has anyone another idea to get the name of the skin sets?
I’ve been digging into skins for months now, and I’ve come to one conclusion regarding sets: sets are somewhat arbitrary.
1. Most skins do conform to having one obvious set name. However, most skins were also part of at least two sets – one for PvE, and one for PvP. Membership in both sets was not always guaranteed. For example, the Bandit weapons overlap with Makeshift weapons, but Makeshift Spear has no PvE counterpart and remains named Makeshift instead of Bandit.
2. Flame weapons did not include SteamFire until SteamFire was renamed a few months ago, even though they shared obvious visual similarities.
3. The Phantasmal set on the wiki only includes weapons that appear on Mesmer phantasms, exclude several that share the same obvious purple smoke characteristic, and NONE HAVE PHANTASMAL IN THEIR NAME.
There’s plenty more like this. So you can do what I do and just go with what seems obvious, because none of these sets are officially established outside of the collections and cultural merchants.
New account bound item with selectable stats, for leveling alts.
This happen to me today.
Try making the item itself and consuming it… that might be what you need to do.
I didn’t have to craft the item for “Recipe: Feast of Spicy Lime Steaks” I just had to consume the recipe. Has the OP found a solution to this?
I was afraid of that ;/ The previous unlock ought to count IMO.
Fixed:

Shut up, Trahearne!
Actually, that would be an interesting way to do mounts. It could allow the game to still rely on abilities and buffs for movement speed. But the mounts could simply increase the time the buffs take affect.
Could even make it so the cost is that, if you get off the mount or get drawn into combat, you immediatly lose the buffs.
takes a drink
What do you think the reward for collecting every legendary should be?
Two blues and a green, of course.
Dueling is now possible, thanks to the new Pocket Pugilist Dimensional Generator in the Gem Store. It costs 200 gems, works only once, and both participants must buy and use one.
LS Season 3: Two friendly quaggans in The Grove have found an artifact that has been corrupted by Primordus. The avatar of the pale tree tells them that they must take it to the volcano in Mount Maellstrom to destroy it. The hero was summoned and along the way Logan Thackery and Lord Farren join to help the two quaggan on their journey. Each step in the instanced LS will be mainly walking and a healthy amount of dialog. Add only a few (but epic) fight scenes in the entire Season 3 line.
kitten it, Bloomanoo, you really do draw disaster to you!
Could you have forged them?
1. All precursors permanently soulbound on acquire. Yes, soulbound.
2. No precursors from RNG of any sort. Acquisition now requires completion of a solo fractal instance, the contents thereof being randomized with a final enemy on the order of Giganticus Lupicus or a procedurally generated puzzle that will bring most players to tears. Access requires lvl 80, one Gift of Exploration, and one bloodstone shard. This pays out once per account.
3. Achievements for multiple legendaries retired permanently.
4. Dawn, Dusk, Sunrise, Twilight, Eternity permanently removed from all drop tables.
5. New areas opened without map features (skill points, POIs, Vistas, nodes) to make them obvious.
6. SAB reinstituted and updated regularly.
7. Bar Brawl added to the activities rotation.
8. All face/options available during character creation.
9. A new monument posted in the center of LA, marking the place where the last horse in Tyria was beaten into extinction because it would not bear a rider, ever.
10. Falling through the map causes your health to quickly and continuously drain, just like in the first Metroid.
11. Damage ceiling.
12. Monsters must abide by the same rules that players must, unless of Champion or higher status.
You guys have eliminated the mounts
OMG I hate how they “eliminated” mounts from GW2! I’m soooooo mad at ANET right now!
…
Yes they lined them up and shot them before release, probably find a smuggled video about it.
That’s terrible! Someone call PETA!
The sad thing is PETA would applaud.
I am not even joking.
my only problem with crafting is that some mats are RNG to be acquired.
(or am i wrong?)
You’re not wrong, but the amount of materials you can’t get from harvesting or common drops is small. Even gemstones appear at a decent rate. RNG is only really an issue with lodestones, large skulls, and giant eyes.
Is all for China? No… WAS all for China.
White knights in this thread “who don’t give a flying kitten if a player leaves” can’t stop for once to think about the “why” of megaserver.
Or they realize the “why” is a natural outgrowth of the game aging.
I don’t think the trooper skins being missing is actually a bug. Since they have the same skin as the CM dungeon armor, I suspect it was intentional that the story rewards not unlock the skins.
I REALLY hope that wasn’t the case.
BTW, only the Medium Trooper armor has the same skins as from CM.
At any rate, the number of bugged items from this update is a mile long and includes things with far more inoccuous skins than those.
Yes, quite a few. I wasn’t able to peruse the findings until about two days ago, and I discovered I decided to look at a point where the entire items API was bugged. Seems that when they updated everyone’s items so that the names on their gear matched the (transmuted) skin, they went overboard and changed every unique item name in the API along with them (e.g. all karma merchant gear got renamed to match their skins). That’s been fixed, fortunately.
Apostle/Heavy Scale/Stalwart chestpieces now a level 40 PS reward, since they changed the level of all the PS episodes.
Stalker Boots: 5651 still bugged. Can’t verify 41186 this way. 6419 probably not in use any longer.
Studded Gloves: 6274, 6394 still bugged.
Chain Helm: 6305 still bugged. 6463 doesn’t show up in the API (pretty sure this is the Warrior starter helmet, which doesn’t unlock its skin, so it ought to be in the API)

He’s a mean one…
OP,
First a note on rangers.
Ranger pets, if left on ‘active’ while the player is AFK will attack any mob that attacks them or the ranger. However, they have a leash limit that does not extend very far. As for damage/kills anything the pet does is considered an extension of the ranger damage, so yes the player gets the credit and rewards for anything the pet kills.Regarding AFK’ers …
Seems you do not do many world boss events, particularly Tequatl. This event is constantly plagued with AFK’ers that scale-up champions at the turret defense areas. East turrets are particularly bad for this and politely asking players to leave or to move to the attack zerg will get you a chorus of rude comments back.Regarding the Claw of Jormag event,
There is huge difference between players farming champs and players being AFK. At least the champ farmers are actively doing something and preventing the lootable champs from entering the golem spawn area. AFK’ers do nothing except up-scale, then tag what they need to get rewards.AFK ‘ing is not a reportable offense, All you can do is try switching to a map where there are fewer AFK’ers.
You’ll find that like Arenanet, for some reason, certain players in these forums hate legit farmers of any type kind or species and will bash on them for hours.
You will also find certain players who will go to extraordinary lengths in bending over backwards trying to define their bullkitten as ‘legit’.
How about exhaustion be applied upon using supplies instead of dropping the siege? I can pretty much drop 3 trebs and waste 300 supplies under the 3 minute frame.
How will that work if you are all alone repairing a wall/gate or building defensive siege? Happens quite often that a dedicated scout or the few oddballs are fixing things while the commander runs away with the zerg towards new adventures or you are just in a tough outmanned situation.
Or, as in my case recently, I was fixing SM after a heavy sieging, intent on boosting my repairer achievement. I got probably better than 300 points (don’t worry, I pulled it from our far keep that never got more than 30 below max supply).
It seems like there are legitimate reasons to do just about anything that might be called trolling, under different circumstances.
NOW WHAT?
———————————————————
Months have passed. The Pact has long since pulled up most of their stakes in order to throw their main force against Mordremoth, but they left enough behind to continue paring down the remaining Risen. The entire kittening continent of Risen. And after those months of tribulation, the temples are slowly being rebuilt, roads are being restoned, and mysteries are being explored. Zombies still lurk in isolated pockets and beyond the fences, and worse things conjured by Evil Viziers™ skulk in unexplored shadows, but for now, the stinking cesspool of ruins, fishbones, and coral is finding something like peace.
So, in the process, you’ve utterly wrecked a high-level farm area by civilizing it. Trait unlocks need to be relocated. Skill points need repurposed. Players need something to do.
How do YOU suggest this be fixed, when it seems like the intention is that it never would be fixed – that fixing it might cause problems worse than just the discontent that the area is stagnating?
Find a way to bring back tybalt pls, ty <3
Ever read the one about the monkey’s paw?
Ok, now remember what Tybalt went off to fight.
Sure you want him back?
So, no singing Elder Dragons?
Can we at least get a Sons of Svanir recruiter breaking into a song and dance version of I’ll Make a Man Out of You?

Without Disney, this doesn’t exist.
Without Disney, this is just a foreign name.
I don’t much care for the broadway direction their major productions have taken lately, but to discredit anything connected to them is ridiculous ;D They’re responsible for a lot more than kiddy shows.
(ok, I get a little passionate about animation. sue me)
Just a question here because I am curious. The idea of the Living World is that there is a storyline that you take part in, that you are involved in events that shape Tyria in permanent ways—how would you all convey the sense of progression and change without also making changes to the landscape? I see a couple of comments regarding creating things, not simply destroying. Do you all have any other ideas?
If you’re not creating or destroying, that leaves changing what exists.
-Update outdated ambient NPC convos (still a few left).
-New NPCs. New conversations regarding the current state (like in Kessex). Put a Tengu ambassador somewhere outside a capitol building.
-Open previously closed or nonexistent areas. Not even necessarily as much as a full map (though ppl will gripe if it isn’t). Those Priory Charr in the Black Citadel have been digging an awful long time without finding anything. Maybe the OoW lets slip the location of a new safehouse.
-Maybe Isgarren gets tired of the view after 3 centuries and moves the castle over Lions Arch’s lighthouse. Meanwhile, the elementals turn on Garrenhoff and raze it in short order.
Alderaan 8475 NEVER FORGET
These have been ‘broken’ for days.. considering it’s the flagship feature and the number of fixes that have come through in the last few days, I’ve got a feeling this is one of those that we need to track down someone to give us the unlock item.
Encountered this for the first time last night. Yeah, it’s a right kitten, but with a zerg on your side it’d probably be a great farming opportunity.
Remember the goal of the event is not to slaughter all centaurs, but to hold the village. If you can keep someone in the circle at all times, it’s still possible to win.
This one’s been around on various items. I’ll get it added to the list.
Lag-induced death. When you’re on an elevated platform, you are at risk of the server re-establishing your position at ground level, which causes the physics engine to assume you fell the distance. The result is usually instantaneous and inexplicable death, plus the confusion between where your client and where the server thinks you are makes players unable to interact with your corpse.
Or maybe Anise isn’t human, but a sylvari from times passed, and is seeking to undermine humanity and the rebel veggies to appease her mouldering master of the compost heap.
That would explain her name, but that’s about it.
Another huge break after just 5 episodes is a bit of a disappointment. I can’t imagine it takes 300 anet staff to tend to just 1 patch, even so maybe it’s time to hire more and expand, GW1 didn’t have these problems
It might take that many to handle the bugs from the current one ;D
It’s a workable idea, I think. Celestial already functions as a legendary dye.
That WOULD be neat, but I still want my Lyssa’s.
Anyways, back on topic, the various dungeon backpieces and karma backbraces all suffer from the same problem as certain armor pieces that don’t unlock skins in the wardrobe: skin ids that don’t actually reference a skin. I doubt this is unintentional in this case, since skinned back items were a late addition to the game.
IIRC, you’ll also need to get a recipe for the insignia/inscription… whichever goes with the armor.
Give us some time to investigate the new PS rewards. They changed up some of the skins there.
At the end of the level 20 PS for the Norn I got a Masterwork version of the Tier 1 Cultural Chest Armor.
Same here for Human, and that Masterwork had better-than-Masterwork stats, and merched for 10 silver. I’m guessing this is true across the board.
