i keep seeing this pop up so i’ll address it again, atleast in relation to the skins,
if you look right now you’ll see that the 2012 halloween skins sell for nearly 2000g
and some of us who actually want the skin have farmed for months to buy them
(it was 1600g when i made the grind and bought one last year)
being unobtainable has made them extremely valuable and prestigious,
re-adding something like that to the game would be a huge slap in the face to anyone who REALLY wants the skin.if you really wanted it you’d farm for months to get it like the rest of us.
if you don’t want to farm for months then you don’t really want it,
either way, don’t ruin it for those of us who have made the grind and got the reward!Really? And the fact that some people got it completely for free because they did a 5 minute dungeon or happened to get a Black Lion Key drop at the right time doesn’t bother you?
I’ve heard of people who got a skin the easy way saying they want everyone else to have to suffer for it, but I’ve never heard of someone saying they want to be forced to put disproportionate effort in and being given an opportunity to win the skin the same way the TP sellers did would be unfair!
I’ve learned to take a lot of things in stride. This is no exception. I’d love to have a greatsaw, if only for screenshots,. And I generally champion the idea of keeping skins available in some form or other, even if it means I have to leave my comfort zone to get them. But I’m not holding my breath.
^ no no no, we need a reference to Simon’s Quest.
So every 5 mins, the item would give you a 10 sec stun, and a huge textbox with nonsensical garbage would slowly scroll across your screen. It’s perfect.
What a horrible night to have a preCURSor…

I just wanted to add that the Sylvari cultural T3 Harpoon Gun is using the rifle model instead of the Harpoon Gun model. Interesting enough, there are two separate items listed in the Wardrobe Storage, Warden’s Speargun and Wardens Harpoon Gun.
Warden’s Speargun: Available in-game, uses the incorrect Rifle model
Warden’s Harpoon Gun: Uses the correct Harpoon Gun model, can be previewed through wardrobe storage but is not available in game.So either the Warden’s Speargun needs to have it’s model changed to the Warden’s Harpoon Gun, or the Warden’s Harpoon Gun needs to be added for purchase to the Sylvari T3 cultural weapons vendor.
Thanks for reporting. The Warden Harpoon Gun is also listed under the unavailable weapon skins. I’ll add the part about the wrong models once the patch is live and I checked the rest.
Neither of these are a bug. One of the skins is a PvP-only version, and it’s pretty common for a speargun to just be a copy of an existing rifle.
I wonder how many breakages there will be today
The filters work for me, but I had to learn some of their quirks first. Filtering for text in the item only works if its in the name (can’t just type “rare” in the search box).
I forgot.

Ok let’s be clear and give some sample how gw² is becoming all about money farm or use your credit card (aka gems) masta powa
Average player make 10-20g MAX a day -> ok
I’d say less, actually. 5g is a pipedream for most, even if it is easily attainable by running dungeons.
Legendary : look price on tp, do some math, better buy ! You don’t have gold, wait gem is the solution (so credit card) that’s why some 2k ap have 2-3 legendary (thx mum)
So that’s what we have to jump to? Some player that can barely manage his game finances thinks that he’s just going to pop by the corner store and pick up a legendary? It really speaks to how off your own expectations are.
As far as paying for a fortune via gems, as much as players kitten and moan about it being the only way to get there, I have yet to hear of anyone actually doing it.
Now let speak about the new pro system “collection” : once again look price on tp. The best joke is about Black Lion. 1 collection is arround 1900g. Atm there is “only” 13 to do so …
Once again, your expectations are off the mark. The collections weren’t intended to be filled in a day. Weren’t intended to be something you just went off and bought. They were intended to be something you filled in as you played or used as a guide to tackle other things. The rewards being as ridiculously low as they are should have been a clue. You weren’t going to get jack for filling them, so you shouldn’t have felt pressured to do so.
But then the speculators came in and ruined everyone’s day, but you’ll blame ANet for that one too. Because it’s what you do. Because they somehow were able to control their constituents to snap up available supply and hold it for ransom. Because ideas like that don’t occur to anyone without explicit goading from the developers.
Last but not least pvp : oh wait they already bashed it low time ago, just look game tab and count “farm” server … How do you make private server ? gems …
According to wiki, if the owners want to be able to farm points, they can’t be private. So the next time you find a labeled farm server, feel free to crash.
Also, you don’t make them with gems. They’re bought with 200 gold. And before you go weeping about gem conversion again, the intention was for guilds to buy these. Whole guilds chipping in. They aren’t personal toys, even if they get treated that way.
I’m maybe totally wrong, but i’m really really disappointed
Run with that. I’ll be lucky to not get an infraction saying this much.
I’d like dwarves more than anything. Of course, they’re turned to stone and the kitten pull would be of epic proportions to bring them back as a playable race, so I’ll concede that my wishes won’t come true.
If I can’t have dwarves though, maybe mursaat or kodan some day. I still expect Tengu to be first of the list but at least I can hold dreams while still maintaining a firm grip on reality.
Well, we don’t know that all dwarves everywhere were turned to stone. There might be others. Even now they might be migrating into the areas we know. Refugees, perhaps, fleeing some disaster. Or intrepid explorers, curious to see what lies beyond the horizon.
Well, according to Anet’s lore masters, we do actually know that. It may not have been posted here, but it’s definitely been said. Every single dwarf eventally took the right, and became stone.
I knew Ogden should have taken a left turn at Albaquerque.
It’s not common, no. There is something of a trend of people finding specific events that they want to fail for better rewards and getting rather aggressive about it, however. Both of such prominent events I’ve been around for were patched pretty quickly.
I would take a stab that it’s probably the same crowd, moved to another location after the last one was patched.
I’d argue it being a different crowd. This has been happening right alongside of the other instances of volatile fail-farming; it just hadn’t been brought to light much.
But, now that it has, look for it to be nerfed and the trolls to move on to the next area.
You do realize that you can get 100% map completion without getting “Been There, Done That” correct? You can’t get the latter without the former, but you can get the former without the latter. Map completion only covers the sp, poi, waypoints, etc. It doesn’t require you to unfog the whole map. So there is a distinction there.
I’m not speaking of “unfogging the map.” When I speak of “map completion,” I’m talking about receiving the 100% Zone rewards for all relevant zones, unlocking the yellow star and associated title.
But yes, you can get the achievements Orr Explorer, Ascalon Explorer, etc (or whatever they’re called) without also getting BTDT.
I think you misunderstood me.
You can get 100% map completion without getting BTDT. Map completion just requires the activities on the various maps. BTDT requires both the activities as well as the unfogging – ie it requires 100% map completion and 100% exploration completion. 2 sep things.
I wasn’t referring to the specific ‘Explorer’ components, of which you must get them all to get BTDT.
Either:
1) I misunderstand you
2) You are wrong
3) The wiki is wrong“You can complete most maps without uncovering all of its areas (those are tracked by the regional Explorer achievements); for example, you do not need to find most jumping puzzles, since these are in secluded areas without any map objectives to discover.”
I remember when I got map completion and the title, and it wasn’t at the same time. When I checked wiki then, I saw some things that didn’t jive with my current milestones. Looks like they reverted any changes I would have made then, and it’s been too long since for me to remember what exactly had happened.
Actually I don’t know if we know what is actually still available and what isn’t, but this is one item that probably doesn’t fit on the PvP tracks as they now stand. :/ It’s too bad, considering it’s ridiculously expensive.
Sterling is right. There are a few items (mostly footwear) you can get from the PS rewards that allow you to select your stats and are account-bound. The stats are also greater than what you normally see for an item of that level.
You can also find armor and weapons of this sort out in the wild. They sport basic or (T1-2) cultural skins, have higher stats than usual, and are accountbound.
If turning down all settings isn’t working, the only thing that might help is to replace the shaders with some that do nothing. Not only does this require you to know some -LSL, you’d have to be able to identify which files these are and I guarantee ANet will not help you if you do something wrong. Really man, you’ll just have live with it.
Problem is:
- You currently have no way of telling what megaserver shard you are currently on and hence cant give that as a parameter to the events api
- Even if you knew that, you wouldnt have a way to travel to a specific megaserver shard where the event is currently running, ultimately making you wait around anywaysI do agree with you though. I would like to see this fixed sometime soon too.
Type /ip
That’s your megaserver.
The other problem is insurmountable, though :/
I oppose.

I’d like them to add some means of crafting alcohol points, but that’d probably cut into their gold sink.
Yes, let’s add it.
So Elementalists can heal even up to 15k with crit like no tomorrow.
What? Can’t pull off two instaganks in a row? What’s wrong with you?
Good advice except for the part about needing to be on a winning server
Reset night is a good night to play WvW for map completion since there is a lot of "flipping* going on back and forth, supply is very limited then since it hasn’t had a chance to build up and you’ll even see keeps changing hands many times over the course of a few hours until servers have a chance to build up defenses.
Also, do not limit yourself to your server’s “third” of EBG – there is always a tug and pull for the towers and camps along the edges with big “pushes” for more strategic locations as your server builds up resources.
I’m thinking of writing a guide on WvW map completion for the uninitiated since there is a lot of misconceptions floating about. I’ll put something up later this week.
You missed my meaning, I think. Someone who is on a server that never wins (like the last place server, I don’t know its name) is going to be confined to the same area of the map every week. That’ll make it much more difficult to get into objectives at the far side of the map, not only because they’re on a weaker team but they have to penetrate farther into enemy territory..
The amount of work that went into that is not something someone makes on a whim. Given the elements in it, I think it was intended to tie in with Scarlet as one of her bases of operations.
I cried because I had no shoes.
Then I met a man who had shoes, but whose laces weren’t sparkly.

You know, this does look a bit like the allocator from FF10.
We could really use a darkness beyond twilight, and, for that matter, a crimson beyond blood that flows…
Such a color should not be merchable. It would bind itself to me. SWEAR itself to me.
raids = more blob spam 1 skill content.
I would think something more along the lines of Marionette. Prepare your rage.
Would comment but it’s pointless

I am the ‘brother’ implicated in the OP.
We think its fair that many of you would find it hard to determine who to believe given the circumstances and the way this was broached. That’s my bro for you. I only wish I didn’t drag him into this. Nonetheless, one takeaway is that this behavior is not tolerated; at least by the forum goers.
So does it mean these guys will get banned? Will anything come of it? As I said (see screens), internally I don’t think so but I too wished to establish a pattern in the hopes that justice will be served some day. The other thing I also said is, if this is a game where victim becomes the accused, I guess its really not for me.
You were brought on in bad faith. You were, in fact, scammed, though you were fortunate to only lose some time.
Will anything come of it? Unfortunately, we will never know. ANet support does say they will investigate any and all reports, and this dipkitten made the mistake of showing his hand in-chat. But ANet will not tell you what actions they take on your situation, so you’ll have to be happy with having filed the report.
Please post the logins of your fellow guildies so I can group-block your kitten when I get home.
I had a feeling this had to be a troll but I didn’t think there’d be anything worthwhile in the spoiler. Yeah, these idiots need reported, and them saying crap like that in chat will only make it more obvious what they are trying to pull

Something like :
1) Need to be 80 lvl to get precursor
2) Need to have number of hours to get precursor
3) Need to have over 10k or more AP to get precursor
4) Need to have some kind of achievement to get precursort
5. Need to never be able to get more than one in the entirety of your in-game history. These things are far too common.
What part of RNG do you not understand?
And who told you that i dont understand it ? Probably you dont understand ! ! !
I am just saying that i dont like it and its totaly unfair ! ! ! …… now you understand it?
Try not only to read what i am saying but understand what i am trying to say also.
Except it is fair. Ridiculously so.
Moment to moment, you have the same chance as anyone else in the game of getting your precious exotic. That it doesn’t hit for you may suck, but it doesn’t mean it is biased against you.
Oh yeah. takes a drink
takes a drink If you didn’t leave it for last, you wouldn’t have nearly the issue with it.
The only person with any right to gripe about this is someone on a server that never wins in WvW. In all other cases, you’re looking at this from the wrong perspective. Mapping anyplace in PvE is a job for an hour. Mapping in WvW is something you should PLAN on spending a few weeks on. Week to week, your server’s color and starting position should change. This will give you better access to different areas, often ones you couldn’t get into the week before.
The color your server is assigned is based on how well it did the previous week. So if your server always wins or always loses… well, you’re stuck if you can’t get a group to knock in doors with. Otherwise, go do something else until the weekend rolls through.

You can tell I don’t deal in high-tier items.
Aight, I get the situation now but there is a (ugly) solution – go to your transactions tab and click on “selling”.
Are you really missing that 1 copper that much?
reread the code carefully. It’s likely you input something like a letter O for a number 0, a G for 6, just forgot a letter, or something like that
I wasn’t able to find anything. Maybe it was something from the PoI show? But as far as written documentation on the net I’ve got no proof.
I still stand by assessment that it’s done with.
The Mystic Forge needs to kick out items that are equal to or above the level of the items you put in.
The current state of the Mystic Forge is like Elementalists at game launch. Players think it sucks and don’t bother to explore it for its potential, because it doesn’t appear to be immediately rewarding. The saddest thing is…. well, that would be telling, and I’ve learned to keep my secrets.
Players that know what they are doing will still do well with it, and might even do it a little more cheaply than before the change since they can act on current player prejudice.
- It seems that level 80s get a special loot table, and that loot table mostly consists of blue and green iron/soft wood weapons. The algorithm used to generate items is pretty transparent, so this equipment feels very formulaic very quickly. Level 80 characters see the same things over and over again, so it feels like characters are most likely to receive unexciting weapons – essentially, junk the game has misclassed as valuable.
You’re correct but not for the reason you think. It seems one of the side effects of increased magic find is that you are more likely to get an item that is at or near your level, rather than at or near the level of the area you are in. If you take a new character and level it up entirely in new player areas, you will see this in effect. There isn’t a loot table designed for just level 80 characters, but level 80 characters are permanently stuck at the top end of it.
The main outfall of this, of course, is that we are now awash in T5 and T6 materials, since even when players tear themselves away from the top tier farming areas, they’re still getting level 80 gear rewards. Secondary outfall is that T2-T4 materials are in short supply. This is also why collecting silver doubloons for The Juggernaut is such a drag.
(edited by Sariel V.7024)
It’s a workable idea, I think. Celestial already functions as a legendary dye.
But it’s only rare. We don’t even have exotic dyes yet.
That misses the point. I’m saying that ‘legendary’ effects might be able to be tied to dye items, not making a statement on their rarity
Good questions with “time” probably being the answer….which I think can be a weak excuse as that time could be budgeted in.
Why aren’t there more unique, strange, interesting rewards to be found?
Why can’t there be more Regional achievements now that the section is there?
Why not more Fractals?
1. Because players hate the concept of unique when it means they might not have it, and because they can’t be bothered to get the ones that exist. Also add that strange and interesting are very subjective; look at the reception of Amberite weapons.
2. These are already largely covered by Boss, Dungeon and Exploration achievements. New achievements will probably require new content. So, yeah, time.
3. People’s hate for Scarlet soured them on the most recent additions which probably soured the devs in turn. They’ve also got their hands full with new maps for Mordremoth, which I’d put a higher priority on.
No fan focuses made it into GW2. I smell false advertising ;D
Another thing is that there is no unique loot. Every area has the same kind of loot. There are no special areas with special skins like Urgoz or Deep in GW1 with Zodiac skins (yeah we got that as gem store CRAP).
There are also no bosses who drop unique named and cool looking weapons with special features. It’s so boring.

Hhaha i have same problem with silver doubloons
GL finding those
Immobulus is only exotic. Silver Dubloons are for a legendary.
In spite of that, Silver Doubloons are FAR easier to get than these eyes.
First thing you have to do though is stop farming for them with a lvl 80 character.
The reason I don’t like the concept of reaching a point where your next one is guaranteed through a hidden system is the following example:
I want incinerator. Ive thrown 600 exotics in for it, and had no luck. My ‘hidden guarantee’ is at 99%, but as far as I am aware I could be months away from it.
I do a world boss chain, and end up with 3 exotics that have crap sigils. A trident, a warhorn, and a focus. I toss them into the forge with a mystic shard, and poop out comes the rodgort precurser. My “99% guarantee” resets to zero on a once off, throw away forge giving me something worth about 100g only, instead of the realistic return I deserved of 1300g from Incinerator.
takes a drink
Realistic? Deserved? Even in hypotheticals, the entitlement is bleeding through. Maybe you need to come back to my end of the economy, where I’m more than happy to garner a single G for anything I get.
Even if you hadn’t run your luck variable to its maximum point unknowingly, you still had a chance of it granting you something, and LOOOOOONG before it reached 99% (assuming it increments reasonably instead of jumping from 10% to 99% in one go). And that one lucky hit still wipes the bonus completely. If the results really mattered that much to you, you’d quit playing the forge when you couldn’t guarantee the payoff.
Ok, from the cheap side of things:
Verdant Greatsword : the whole set is an awesome splash of color amongst relatively bland weapons. This one can be had for about 100 karma or a decent amount of silver.
Jeweled Trident : it looks like a staff, but it’s a pretty fancy option for a couple hundred karma.
Norn Trident : Looks vaguely chronomancerish, with a purple glow.
Dragonspine : a spear with an eastern halberd flare.
Aureate Highlander Sword : a realistic-looking flamberge.
Glyphic anything. Too bad they’re all condi weapons.
Stepping into the gold range…
Ebon Vanguard Greatsword , Harpoon , Hammer , Bo ws , Staff: The black and gold motif is really sharp.
Spectral Wave Modulator
Azure Railgun : This is seriously in the wrong game.
Sarraceniaceae
Point 1: There are currently a grand total of 8, yes I said 8, outfits available in the entire game. Of the holiday outfits currently listed in the gem store, none are new, and 2 have been available since the first Halloween.
Point 2: There are currently between 80 and 110 available armor skins per weight and piece, available both in game and from the gem store. That is more than enough for ANYBODY to completely customize their look thousands of times over if they want a unique look.Considering how few outfits there are compared to the amount of individual armor skins available per piece, I fail to see the argument about the lack of customize-ability.
Fasten your seatbelt.
There are 9 outfits (one of them is hidden. I know, big deal).
There are 1435 individual armor skins (each weight class counted separately, race and gender variations ignored), mostly strewn across 181 armor sets.
What constitutes a set? A set is all related pieces for a suit of a particular weight class. This usually constitutes 6 pieces, but can go as low as 3.
Numbers accurate as of 10/2/14.

By now, this being their flagship feature for vets, if this was a bug, they’d have fixed it. Or at least said something about it :/ Yes, I know their track record.
My best guess is that these weren’t intended to be released just yet, but somewhere in the coming months so that there would be a few new ‘easy’ collections to go after. In contrast to things like Spirit Crafter and the collections of its ilk that are surely coming ;/
At last, an efficient way to size weapons for an Asura
My post had two points, neither of which you were privy to, now understand, nor figured out.
I’m not interested in elaborating.
