Why are we pretending that adrenaline is in any way difficult to build up in the first place? This change is good and was needed and op is being over dramatic. Learn to use your skills with more discipline like everyyone else already does. You lose both the adrenaline and get the cooldown due to the fact that the cooldown is nowhere near high enough to justify the power of the burst skills. Simple really. /thread.
Simple thing really, when you queue for a hotjoin map from the open world map, when you leave the match you return to where you were in the open world. why can this not be the same for arenas. I would like to be able to pve while I wait in my queue and go right back to what I was doing after the match while I wait for the next queue.
As Axelwarrior mentioned, put your turrets down first. Even if you are overcharging healing turret, the water field will be gone before the blast finishers start going off. Then you can include elixir gun and shield the into your rotation with ease, getting you up to 15 stacks. The elixir guns blast cd is incredibly short and will be available every rotation and is a great addition to any build. The shield is optional of course, but if you want more might I’d take it.
Side strafing to avoid ranged auto attacks effects weapons for almost every class, not just warriors. And it’s about time warriors have to think more about when to use a burst skill.
Both Acid Bomb and Super Elixir appear as “Elixir” abilities. Just curious as to why they are not affected by “Elixir” traits such as HgH or Formual 409?
I played a pure P/P no kit HgH build and it worked amazing. I’d say either of the two builds here would work great for what he is looking for.
I made the suggestion about rocket boots being made into an evade on this forum the other week ago and was immediately shot down. I think it’s lame how Memsers, Thieves, and Warriors are the only classes with access to evades while rooted.
I wouldn’t mind if they increased the cooldown to 25-30 seconds in return for an evade. Or maybe make it situational and make hitting the rocket boots utility bring up an aoe target prompt a la jump shot, and depending on the distance you either get the regular rocket boots functionality or a vertical jump that acts as an evade and increases the cooldown.
In all fairness both Rocket Boots and Overcharged Shot also remove all movement impairing conditions from you character.

This is one of the builds I’ve been using. Survival is nice, I’ve been able to maintain up to 20 stacks of might, and damage comes from rotating through burst skills while controlling opponent with cc. Still working on finishing typing up the guide for it.
I also play another bunker build that runs Bomb Kit, Tool Kit, and Elixir Gun. It has a bit more survival and focuses on condition damage. I haven’t made a guide for that one yet, but if you’re interested just message me and I’ll throw one together real quick for ya.
Link isn’t working
Sorry, I forgot to publish the guide, it should work now.
Or you could try the always wonderful Evasioneer.

Does Vigor not work with the Endurance regen trait? Just curious why you wouldn’t take perma Vigor alongside the Endurance trait for a build focusing on evades.

They are working on making less used traits, weapons, and abilities more desireable. Don’t see what the big deal is. They took forever to fix a tooltip you deem useless, so what? Last I checked this game was free for me to play, so I have no intentions of holding Anet to some silly schedule.
I remember paying for a copy of the game.
You paid for a copy and you got a copy. You do not pay monthly fees that assure prompt updates however. Not like it matters. People will complain no matter what.

You guys might as well get ready to complain more, because I guarantee you that by the end of all these changes Engineers and Rangers are not going to be the only ones with a “reveal” ability. Counter-play for stealth spam is being implemented. You Thieves are just going to have to learn to adapt and overcome.
God, I am such a fool wasting a precious slot on SR – all I use it for is rezzing downed players anyway and it’s obviously not appreciated.
There are no stealthless WvW thieves, not even Zerg thieves, at least I don’t see no video’s from them. Almost every thief carries at least two of the trinity, HiS, Shadow Step and Shadow Refuge – they all give stealth. Almost every thief in WvW has at least one weaponset that gives stealth, either with off hand dagger in D/D, S/D and P/D or with D/P.
If everyone gets a 6 second stacking Reveal then thieves will essentially go stealthless and without major changes to the class, stealthless thieves are not viable in Wvw.
So, Mr. Learn-to-adapt, show us a video of how your stealthless thief handles some decent Wvw players.
I could really care less about Thieves since I don’t play one and don’t have issues fighting them. I am simply pointing out that Anet seems to be catering to the massive cries for more counter play against Thieves. And seeing as Engineers weren’t particularly vulnerable to Thieves in the first place and the fact that they buffed the Ranger’s reveal as well, that provides an indication that they may have plans to give other professions a reveal mechanic as well.
Therefore the purpose of my post was to make two points. The first being that Thieves shouldn’t start bashing on Engineers as if this is something they asked for. The second being that complaining is silly at this point considering the changes for Thieves haven’t been announced yet.
Therefore, instead of collaborating on how this means the end of the stealth spam Thief, it makes much more since to simply wait and see what the future Point of Interest shows have in store for everyone. Hate me if you want, just laying out some common sense here to calm the uproar.

As a Necromancer, I say no health buff for you. Only Necromancers and Warriors deserve the gift of health.
On a serious note, Guardians would become broken and borderline OP if they had an HP buff. But don’t take my word for it, just listen to all these guys here that do play guardian and disagree with you.
So I’ve been in my annual army training since July 11th and won’t be back home until Aug 1st. I played episode 1, have been gone during episode 2, and when I get home episode 3 will be out. When I log in will it unlock both episodes 2 & 3 or will I only get 3 and miss out on 2?
Glad to see you made it. Do us proud!
The lightning field is baseline, not traited. Eles will probably get the same. The trait simply increases the movement speed now instead of increasing the duration.
Not sure why, but it is Caithe. Most likely because Sylvari is the newest race though.
Hello frands! Vee Wee here, #1 Engi NA and world first rank 80!
This is not a bug! Arenanet is just pretty terrible with tooltips! 2 years later and they are still adjusting poorly worded ones and then telling us they are patching the game! Basically if you want the smoke field, make sure there are bad guys nearby!
Hope that helped! Wahoo! Bye frands!
No longer retired Vee Wee?
“I’m sorry but if you are getting killed bu turrets while this engi is afk, then you should probably just stick to PvE.”
I’m sorry i couldn’t find you on the leaderboards top 1000? Like, you’ve never even kitten been there. So maybe you should go try playing the game instead of pretending you know something on the forums.
Also, you beat an engineer ON A NECROMANCER? NO WAY, PLEASE TELL ME MORE…
Turrets are WAY too overpowered in a 1v1 scenerio for the amount of work the actual player has to put forth.
My 1v1 was in Graveyard at Legacy. So i pulled him to me, did my combo, his turrets stunned me. Cool. I ran in and went ham, his turrets knocked me back. Cool. I naded him while LoS’ing turrets, he strafed. Cool.\
Don’t be a kitten. (btw i am typing kitten)
Leaderboards are legit bro! Lmfao. All this “AI builds so op!!!!” exagerrations are getting old. Turrets are not op, and if you think so then I guess you are less skilled than a low ranked player like myself. Lol. L2p guys. And btw, wasn’t playing condi necro, all about power, but let me guess necro is op too. Lol. Such qq in here.
It would be the same because it is just a bunch of people who have no idea what they are doing in a match together. It would do nothing to train or prepare them, that is the responisbilty of the players and always will be.
Heaven forbid anyone just post this in one of the many topics on this that have already been started. MM Necros, lol really? All the minions can be kited and the necro can be easily killed. Turret Engineers, turrets are weak and die easily to aoe, lol again. Pet zoo rangers? You mean spirit rangers? Yet another easy kill.
And before you think I defend them cause I play them. I play power necro, static discharge engi, and zerker ranger. I lol a bit everytime I see an ai build simply because it is an easy kill. Sure they are fun to play, but anyone who knows what they are doing will beat them. And I’m not elitist, I’m just an average player.
Trial solo and team queue matches would just wind up being the same thing as hotjoin matches.
Necros are wanted in WvW. Necros are really fun to play period, and that is all that matters.
I’m sorry but if you are getting killed bu turrets while this engi is afk, then you should probably just stick to PvE. But most likely you are exagerrating about the engi going afk and the turrets hitting harder than him, mostly due to the fact that you have no real evidence that turrets are op in any way. If these turret engis are so op yet I can kill every one of them on my power necro (who has the crapiest defense against cc in the game), then what is your excuse?
People often seem to mix up “annoying” with “op.” Turret engis, mm necros, spirit rangers, and pu mesmers may be annoying, but they are far from op.
Shame on that ToL match today.
I dunno, death shroud can be flickered every 7 seconds when traited and your trying to compare it to major 69-90 second cooldowns that other professions use.
Those major cooldowns make them invulnerable though. That is the difference. On my engi if I want to stomp a guardian and have elixir S (which can be specced for shorter cd and longer duration btw), then there is nothing anyone on the map can do to stop me aside from stealthing that guardian and hoping he doesn’t accidentally break the stealth.
DS on the other hand has to be charged with life force, has a cd, can be broken if attacks are able to drain life force, and can be cc’d. You could take a GRANDMASTER trait for a short stability that will not cover the full duration of the stomp or rez, but even that can be corrupted or removed.
Lastly, on my engi, just taking elixir S alone provides me with stealth stomp and invuln stomp. I can still take bomb kit for blind stomp or elixir B for saltability stomp or elixir U for quickness stomp or grandmaster trait for quickness stomp.I even have a few options for stomps on my ranger, to include stealth stomp, stability stomp, invuln stomp, cc transfer to pet stomp (though not as reliable).
Point being, letting necromancers reliably stomp or res in death shroud without exploiting would in no way be unfair or op.
You have my vote. Do us proud!
Yeah, it’s not the most optimal. But I run flamethrower toolkit and elixir gun with celestial ammy strength runes and sigils of battle and energy. Gives me good survival and I kill people by having alot of control, some steady condition damage, and then cycle through all of my burst abilities such as jump shot, fire blast, pry bar, and acid bomb and what not.
So ideally in a group fight I can sustain myself and use blast finishers on water fields. By the time I’m ready to burst my oponent I can have plenty of vuln on them and might on me. Like I said, it’s not optimal, but it is effective and fun.
You can hold 9 stacks of might out of combat. In combat I sit at about 15-20 stacks of might with a Sigil of Battle thrown in.
Actually there is a really fun build using the first trait line XIII trait. You basically just play defensively while passively burning everyone around you to death. I can post the exact build on here later when I get home. But with the build you can easily take on three enemies solo.
Spirit Rangers, MM Necros, and Turret Engis only kill noobs that are clueless. The players that are not noobs don’t care because they see an easy kill. Therefore, only noobs come to forums complaining of these ai classes.
Ranged damage = dead turret engi. Not op in the slightest.
I was wondering about that too. I don’t remember any scenes of her being a teenager.
A dude that plays MM necro for 3 days will be just as easy to kill as any other MM necro out there. Anyone who knows what the are doing will easily take a MM down. Can’t take a guy serious that comes in talking about the definition of skill then goes on the usual MM op wagon. Too many HotJoin heroes with opinions being stated as facts in here.
As a Necro, I can tell you the MM build is a free kill for me. Maybe it’s because I play Necromancer and know how to fight one? Who knows. There are annoying builds to fight, but nothing is truely op.
As for no skill builds, just get out of HotJoin and low tier Soloqueue before you come here speaking of such no skill builds being in any way effective against anyone other than noobs.
Like people complaining of Lich Form. If only blocks/blinds/boon strip/reflections somehow worked on the Lich right? ……….oh wait.
Well at least you posted on one of the many condi op qq threads that already exist………oh wait.
There are many crappy MM necros out there mainly because MM is easy to use against unskilled hotjoin or soloqueue oponents. However, there are also some skilled MM that while time their cc and damage perfectly and can be a tough fight. MM recieve alot of hate though because of the numerous inexperienced necros playing against other inexperienced players and letting their build carry then to some degree.
So to answer your question, if you are ever insulted by an enemy for playing MM, they are most likely scrubs that need to l2p, so just lol and ignore them.
Corruption is fun stuff and all but Spectral Grasp is a great utility for an instand Life Force booster. Also the Staff is a great weapon for replacing the axe as it provides more control and generates great life force at range.
On the subject of your build though, I am confused on your Life Force blast only dealing 600 damage. I run a 4/4/0/0/6 power necro and my Life Blasts hit for 3k easily. What runes/ammulet are you running?
Not really understanding why people think it is so hard to learn a class. Several times I have made a level 2 character and went into sPvP with it, and done great. I just take the time to look over weapon, skill, and talent choices. It’s pretty easy to quickly understand how a class works and put together a build that works for you.
Or you could buy a guild backpack.
Besides, we already have unlimited tools that work great and have nice animations.
Also good point. If you are wanting to level up an alt, dont spend all of your tomes on your level 80. Save them up and then when you decided to make an alt just fly through the levels.
Hop in and do some sPvP hotjoin. Doesn’t take long, and you get plenty of leveling tomes and skill point scrolls.
Send me an invite for sure. On Gate of Madness but I can still participate in everything but WvW.
In case anyone is curious, if you look closely at the picture you’ll see OP is playing a Ranger in that fight. And I agree with people here, to pull off that kind of damage you become squishy as hell. I just wish this was an option for all professions. By same theory, if I make a zerker ranger and give up all defense I should be able to land 10k attacks right? But sadly a ranger will never see those numbers.
Slow moving giant green glowing guy firing slow moving projectiles. As someone who plays both necro and engi (and now ranger, yay!), I can confidentally say your death was your own fault. The Engineer has so many tools at it’s disposal to deal with Lich. Smoke fields, immobolize, boon strip, REFLECT!!!!!, tossing elixir u, using elixir s at all, 2 shield blocks, evades with vigor, straffing the attacks from long range while pummeling with grenades…….I mean really.
Yeah, I’ve been running decoy, mirror images, and the signet that recharges shatters on use for my utilities. And I definitely want to keep up with the shatter build, just trying to learn tips for better survival and burst. So I’m guessing I should swap out the signet for blink? I was using the signet because I play Engi alot and so my ground targetting is set to quick click thing and it throws me off moving my hand over to hit a 6-8 key for blink and then getting back to movement keys quickly.
