Yeah I bought mine off the TP. Gambling is a slippery slope, and you’ll soon find yourself throwing away gold. I only gamble with weapon drops, never actually purchase for gambling.

Let’s ask a different question: How many ingame hours and equivalent gold do you think it should cost to get a weapon that is EQUIVALENT in stats to a Legendary. Keep in mind of what a legendary costs …. Now try and tell us again how ‘hard’ and ‘long’ it takes to get an Ascended weapon. You don’t have an argument.

2 months ago, I got a weapon equivalent in stats to a legendary in 30 seconds.

I’d be in favor of this. I have a lot of mats that I won’t use. as well as 500 WS which I’d like to maybe profit from.

Guardian or Warrior. They’re the only classes that can wade in a heavy zerg, dish out serious damage, retal and CC, and roll out alive.

The only thing they added that’s noticeable is the glowy gem. I don’t notice anything else different.

You can join the frostgorge champ farm. Incredibly boring, but probably the best farm in GW2 atm.

You probably don’t love the game.

It’s not that bad to be honest. I first thought it would be when the ascended weapons came out, but I actually managed to craft an ascended GS a few weeks ago, and then decided to go for a legendary right after. I started with 90g after crafting Zojja’s GS, ankitten ow only needing silver doubloons and icy runestones for Jugg (without gambling as well – bought the precursor with gold). In addition, I have 2 additional vision crystals purely from WvW and daily dungeon runs as well as Tequatl and world boss attempts for farming rares to salvage.

I experimented with a stack of 3 pebbles (around 7.5 gold) and a stack of lumps (around 1.5 gold). for a total of 7 doubloons for 9 gold. Roughly what I would have spent to buy those 7 doubloons minus the clicking.

A month ago, i opened 20k light bags of booty and made profits, selling all the mats i got, while keeping the silver doubloons (89 in total). Granted, at that time t2 mats were quite expensive and bags cheap but i still generated 89 silver doubloons while making gold.

Try that right now and tell me how it works.

What the OP is saying that you get tokens in addition to the regular drops. So people actually put in the effort won’t feel like chumps for their time.

They’re just ascended weapons with some black smoke, if the screenshot I saw was accurate.

Don’t try to do everything in one sitting. Just check each BL and EBG for the places your server holds, and try to get them ASAP. The camps, you can probably just run through them, even if you get killed.

My biggest advice would be to always check in from time to time to see what you can grab, AND equip swiftness, stability and any stunbreakers that can help you escape from enemies. If I can hide from BG and SoR zergs long enough to get map completion, then you can probably do it as well.

Most likely a world boss ascended GS. It has the skin of an ascended GS, but glowing.

MMOs are really the same kitten on a different platter. WoW, TERA, Allods, FF14 – I realized that they’re all the same rehashed garbage that developers have been spewing out since Everquest. GW2 is free at least, even if it’s still a part of that pile.

Frankly, I’d probably stay away from MMOs in general after GW2.

I don’t even mind that it doesn’t have effects. I just don’t like that it doesn’t look like metal (for the weaponsmithing items). The staff and scepter look good, however.

It has the potential to be, but GW2 doesn’t really showcase that. Most dungeons feel like 5 solo players running at the same time. There is really little synergy beyond increasing DPS or providing a tiny bit of support (at the cost of said DPS). The lack of healers also means that fights have to be designed that the average player can do them at the cost of interesting fight mechanics.

I dunno. I like the concept, but not as much as I did when I started playing. Looking back, I think it would have been better to allow players to fulfill any role they wanted on the fly. As it stands now, the lack of build diversity, the focus on all-out DPS and the lack of team synergy and support (aside from combo fields and the occasional utility) gets old fast.

The problem is it looks quite dull and not sharp at all. If it was the same skin but with shiny metal instead of wood-like material, it would look much much better with the shiny runes.

Not necessarily 200g if you have crafting boosters, but definitely above 100g in either gold or materials (I count farmed materials in gold as well since they’re still assets).

They should just have made it vial of quickplatinum.

Also, that “condition damage” build has woefully low amount of condition damage.

He is asking if whether Anet made skin rewards in sPVP (which you get from chests and crafting) usable in PVE would encourage people to participate in sPVP more.

Dungeon armor is not TP related. That will give you exotics. Vision Crystals required to craft ascended is also account bound not tradable. You have to craft it.

I agree with one of the posters above. I think they are playing around with other acquisition methods perhaps karma is somehow in the mix. Crafting was done as the game needed some more sinks. That is what this most recent patch is for. Increase rewards but also increase sinks.

im talking about weapons, not armor. I know dungeon armor isn’t on TP and that’s good and it was fun having a goal in those dungeons. Now there’s none because everyone has what they wanted. In one year, what weapon/armor skin anet added that worked just like dungeon armors? One skin, Fractal weps. In one year we received one, while getting bombarded with multiple easy to acquire skins each update which you do nothing else but buy on tp or craft. This is not how an rpg should roll, even less so when talking about an mmo.

Dungeons have become a forgotten part of the GW2 development. Aside from a revamp of AC and a few changes to dungeon gold, it hasn’t received attention at all, whether it be additional content, additional difficulty tiers, additional things to purchase with tokens, or whatever. Strange considering this is essentially GW2’s PVE endgame along with fractals. You’d think that it would be more of a focus.

I actually had all the mats for Vision Crystal since yesterday (the hardest part), but decided to hold off buying the rest of the mats and just craft them myself, so it’s not really THAT hard if you have free time and a moderate amount of money.

If you have multiple characters, the Maelstrom golem might be the best way to farm on a per hour basis as it spawns hourly and gives 20+ ores per kill.

Spend a lot of money or spend a lot of time running around Orr.

No matter if you spent gold or farmed mats, that’s still gold lost either way since you could have sold those mats for roughly the same amount that one who spent gold would have used. That’s why when I say I spent 30g in gold and 20g in mats to get 450, I basically consider it the same as spending 50 gold.

You can spam dungeon paths, and they will give 20 for the first 3 times you do it. I did about 2 COF P1s, 2 COF P2s, 3 HOTW P1s and an SE P1 and came away with 162 empyrean.

Huh? First off if you spent 100g to get to 470 you are doing it wrong. It costed me 52g to get to 500 sooooo

How is this making us farming robots? After you get to 500 its only 10g for the BEST weapon in the game. That is dirt cheap. You can run cof p1 once a day for 10 days straight and get that. If you cant even spare 15min a day to get an ascended wep then you dont deserve it in the first place.

I had the best weapon in the game 2 days ago, and it cost me 3g.

I spent around 30gold and used up maybe another 30g worth of materials (orich/ecto/wood,etc.) for 450. I’d say I’d probably need around 60-80g more, so 150g isn’t a bad estimate.

I just left it at 450 for now. I’ll come back to it when I can actually craft the kitten things. Maybe prices will be a bit lower then.

Remember when they revamped AC and nobody ever did it anymore and it took gold rewards for it to comeback somewhat? If the rewards from this boss are still laughably bad or drop in rates so low as to be akin to winning a lottery, then people will not bother after the first month. So please, make this boss worthwhile to kill.

I agree. I don’t see any advantage at all in time gating, as it just needlessly makes things stretched out, and benefits neither casuals (have you seen the items needed for ascended weapons? Little chance true casuals can do that stuff easily) nor hardcore players (most will already have a legendary). Ascended weapons are IMO aimed at the midlevel player, who will still login regardless.

It’s random boon ON KILL, now it if it was on crit, with an ICD, then it might have a use. But in dungeons or WvW, you don’t really kill things fast enough to make it worthwhile over something like a sigil of force or fire. Now if it was a boon that lasted, say, 2 minutes then I’d probably try it out, but I still can’t see this beating other sigils given how easy it is to stack boons.

Don’t forget that you have to grind the actual materials themselves (I think 100 of each), making it a triple whammy.

Don’t think of it as a treadmill. Think of it as a marathon, where the participants who finished are already relaxing and drinking gatorade, when the organizers suddenly said, “Oh, the marathon isn’t finished yet, we’ve added an additional 20km to it just because, and well, you’ll have to run more if you want your completion to be counted.”
