Instead of being bitter because your server YB actually believed its own hype and thought pvdooring empty maps and running away from everyone all day somehow made you good players, and now that you actually have competition and cant handle it.
So many guys over at BG are just completely kitten-sore about losing for so long and seemingly more bitter when winning. It has been months of listening to complaints about YB defending and PPTing at every turn. When BG is finally winning, rather than just letting the win speak for itself some still cannot get over it. BG must be one acrimonious place.
We all play the same game. Most of us have shared the same win and loss streaks. You don’t need to kick sand in a servers face when they lose and you don’t need to beat your chest when you win. Enjoy the game, enjoy the competition and just a suggestion: belittling an opponent cheapens the victory.
Lol? You’re talking about a server that has been in T1 for so long and has dominated every important WvW competition, and they’re sore about meaningless matches? BG dominated seasons so much that JQ and TC actually had to double team the server for a WHOLE season just to win. And they still won 2 out of the 3 seasons.
Look, hibergate is real whether you believe it or not. I’ve been on this server a long, long time and I know that the regulars here don’t give a crap about scores most of the time. After 3+ years in T1, why would we? I’m sure JQ (before they started going down) thought the same thing.

You’re better off pewpewing from the backline anyways.
Stability was also my main problem when trying to run frontline scrapper. Survivability and tankiness was outstanding, but the lack of stability really hurt.
The druid’s heal isn’t THAT much. It can heal you quickly back up in dire situations, but you still can’t faceroll stuff that you couldn’t before.
I tried healing power for druid but I found it doesn’t make much difference. So I run full zerker druid so that I’m useful beyond just healing.
Maybe in a human-centric expac, they could make a cameo. But their time is over (like they said) and the world is no longer just humans. Might as well traverse the eternal alchemy or encounter the animal gods of Norn lore.
Anyway, at the rate of 1 expac every 3 years, and with 4 dragons still unaccounted for, that’s 12 more years of dragonbusting — just enough for GW3 lol.
Have any of you tried Warrior or Guardian hammer? I’d say the engineer hammer has comparable damage to the Guardian hammer and better damage than the Warrior hammer. AND it has better utility.
GWENSDHRC – Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist,Necromancer, Scrapper, Druid, Herald, Reaper, Chronomancer
or
Gwensudhurk
For wuvwuv? I’m thinking zerker still. I doubt you’ll be in staff 100% of the time, so you’ll probably want a bit of damage. I’m thinking LB/staff will be what is used.
PU nerf… ayyy
From what I heard, Burning Fire no longer gives Might per Cantrip and Blinding Ashes had its ICD increased to 8s. Were there any other changes?
Also, Ring of Fire will now give:
-1 sec burn for 2 sec when crossing it
-2 sec burn for 4 sec initially
(Right now it’s 3 sec burn for 5 sec)No more might on cantrips so the fire line is dead on staff.
Persisting flames? Pyromancer’s training? Burning Rage?
Celestial seems a valid choice for druids in PVP/Wub
Get a party? If you’re in a party, you only need to do like 100 damage to get credit.
As a mainly wubwub player, I’m excited for the potential it can bring to fights. It changes quite a lot of things.
Asura or Charr. Everything else is 2nd rate.
IF the grenade had the utility of the hammer, then by all means nerf its damage. But grenade only has damage, thus it needs to be high.
Warrior hammer also has middling damage, but is highly preferred in PVP and WvW due to everything else it brings over GS and axe. Same with guardian hammer, with its perma protect and low CD blast finisher and high burst.
Its autoattack seems slightly stronger than the warrior’s hammer autoattack, which isn’t a bad spot to be in, given its other skills offer more utility and damage than the warrior’s.
I can’t even tell where traps would be useful
You are correct.
Dolyak runes are one big pile of sheet though.
I think this is how they’ll make the engineer have “heavy” armor without actually giving them heavy armor.
Melee engineer will also lack sustain and a reliable source of stability, so they need all the mitigation they can get. Warriors and guards can get away with lesser mitigation because of their great amounts of sustain.
Have you looked at the traits? There are two traits that give stability, and two traits that give sustain. (the superspeed one boosted by other SS traits)
One of the traits giving stability means no Adaptive Armor (both GM). The other one is a 2 stack stability on a minimum 25 second CD AND requires summoning a gyro, which you might not even use and if you do, will probably want to summon it for something other than stability.
As for rapid regeneration, its swiftness component is basically negligible (about the same as guardian virtues and who really uses that for reliable sustain?). As for superspeed, your own lightning field is on a 24 second CD, while the other conditions require a gyro to be destroyed and someone to be revived/finished.
Also, many of the sustain and stability traits are on the same tier, so you have to choose on or the other (getting the lightning field GM or the stab GM means you give up AA)
So great on paper, but in actual usage, not as impressive.

I’m gonna use the Jugg I crafted for my warr and guard, because, kitten… it’s already there.
BUT if I didn’t have the Jugg, I’d probably use the Zodiac hammer because I like the Rhino theme.
For what? It’s still one of the main weapons in WvW and is pretty good in PVE. Nerfed in PVP, but you could still make it work.
In fairness, who really actually used nades as a 1200+ range weapon? Mortar just as well fulfills the same role as a hard-to-land AoE projectile since the chances of hitting all 3 grenades at 1200+ range was pretty slim.
TBH I’m more curious about hammer than the drones.
If they are damageable, I hope they get reduction from AoE.
So I’m not native english and “scrapper” sounds like somone who tries to scrap a bit iron together and hopes to be able to build something with it :< Or what does “scrapper” mean? I mean “forge” was so epic, like “his mind is a forge for good ideas” and the scrapper is like the stupid brother of the forge :<
I think it’s a double meaning of scrapper as you defined it AND scrapper as in someone who is tough and hard to take down (i.e. Wolverine):
I like it. It fits the tough melee fighter engi.
In the end, however, it’s not really important. It’s only just a name. What matters most is the gameplay.
Depends on the number and frequency of condis removed.
Engi elite will be called “Forge” ? ? where did you get this information?
I dont like the name if thats what it is… I prefer “Juggernaut”, or “Demolitionist”
Engineers already have a trait called Juggernaut, and can soon use the legendary hammer Juggernaut. If the spec if called Juggernaut, we might as well call in xzbit.
^
This. If 10 people couldn’t kill a single engi AND 5 died while fighting him, I don’t know what to say.
You got it wrong. The guilds that moved actually WANTED BG to drop. I’ve seen screenshots of forum posts that confirm this. The leader of the guilds that moved to YB was a former bigshot in BG who got forced out of the server, and with no other server to turn to, had to try and push YB up.
TC was the second choice only because of the way things were shaping up.
Ironically, YB getting blown by a huge amount could mean that Glicko is transferred to the T1 servers, and they’ll have a harder time trying to climb back within range again.
Well, seeing the current scores in T1 and T2, I’d say the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Need to see the traits first. For all we know, there might be a trait that makes overloading uninterruptible, or adds stability while you’re overloading.
Bloodlust is mostly ideal in WvW (less so in sPVP) because you get 5 stacks per kill there.
0/0/3/3/3
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Did you know that there are only 4 areas that are level 80 (Drytop, SW, FGS, Cursed Shore)? That means that your exotic and ascended gear is maximized ONLY in those 4 areas, and that in every other area of the game, a lower level character would match you or be more powerful.
Doesn’t that sound a bit absurd? Shouldn’t an exotic/ascended character at least match the stats of a non-downlevel?
u just got outplayed idk why u even bother playing pvt u could do something like knight armor with cavalier trinkets and still be a tank and actually contribute
Off topic, PVT does higher damage than knight/cavalier due to the pitiful amounts of power that kind of armor has.
After watching the videos you posted I still don’t understand how people tolerate the constant manual targeting of the grenade and mortar kits. Having to constantly retarget an aoe like that is the sole reason I don’t use them.
Manual targeting is more reliable for long range, slow moving projectiles where you need to anticipate enemy movement. It’s also reliable for weapons used as area denial like necromancer staff (and mortar, nades)
Well, nades is a close to midrange high damage set, so it makes sense that its better as a 1v1 tool as opposed to mortar, which is a long range medium damage, high utility tool for fighting against large groups.
As an engi, I did not appreciate being hit by spammable 4k crits from other engis. The mortar’s current strength is not in its single hit damage, but by its spammability at range. To compare, it’s less damage than LB ranger BUT in an AoE and with a lot more utility. Single target damage is lower, but you’re hitting more people.
In it’s current state, it’s like a 1500 range well of suffering with no CD.
I’ve been playing engineer as my main for more than 2 years now and have pretty much every race aside from sylvari (which will happen soon =D) as an engi. Since the mortar nerf I just don’t see a viable playstyle for us atm (talking about wvw). This breaks my heart but the mesmer mimic skill is amazing and my mesmer looks identical to my engi main so that will be the option for me until they do something about our elite kit damage
Have you tried mortar in WvW since the nerf? It doesn’t do as much damage, but it’s still eminently spammable and is extremely useful in zerg fights, much more so than old nades.
IMO less actual diversity (less builds due to no longer dipping in other traits) but more USEABLE diversity (more builds are actually viable), which is better in the long run.
Why is this even a thread here?
I love abusing it, but it’s too strong. I can literally sneak up on tanky warriors with stealth and chunk out 80% of their hp with grenade barrage.
