EDIT: This is not a moral action. There was nothing offensive about Sekz name and in fact your morality in finding this offensive is subject only to your own interpretation of the Christian beliefs. Unless you can prove that their name was objectively and inherently bad?

To add to this point, if someone shared your backwards belief that it was offensive but were not Christian, they would be equally capable of reporting it. To deny this is to say that it IS specific to your religious beliefs, which wraps back around to what I said above about it being purely subjective. Thus your argument holds nothing.

A Net were the ones that ban sekz name for being “rude” so if you are offended to not be angry at poor christian CHAR, please send a message to A net discussing your concerns over the matter and maybe they will overturn their decision

What really kills me is that they’ll delete comments that put morons in their place. People will spew a bunch of garbage or troll talking about how they’ve reported such-and-such guild and caused them to be deleted but anyone who shoots a bunch of holes in that person’s behavior and absurd ideology has their posts deleted.

Any good player in WvW (which is what I assume you mean by PvP since legendaries aren’t attainable in sPvP) will run an axe/X and longbow build for the survivability and versitality, or a sword/warhorn for the mobility. In rare cases I’ve seen bleed warriors running dual swords in WvW, but those builds are quite tedious to master.

Greatsword / Axe + Warhorn. I don’t need range when I can operate siege and have an army full of people pew pewing all day long.

Bump because thread title is true. This class isn’t hard to play, especially the D/D variant. Healing should have been nerfed in PvE for the sake of WvW just like it was in PvP. I have a D/D Ele and I think that the standard build is way too forgiving for such a small skill demand.

I was wandering around in there awhile back. Hopefully they choose to implement the area sometime.

I’d rather have 33% damage reduction. Since, you know, that’s huge. The amount of defense it gives them is overkill. Hopefully boon hate and similar mechanics will shift us away from this brainless bunker meta we have going.

Not any more OP than the elementalists who can throw off conditions left and right, the guardians who can take ten people beating on them to feel any pressure, or the thieves/mesmers who abuse the teleport and stealth skills so that the lag gives them an extra second of being completely invisible. Warriors can use some love in both modes.

I was thinking about something like death having more consequence in WvW myself just the other day. I go to great lengths to avoid dying at all and find the “I’ll just get rezzed or respawn” mentality to be rather annoying. If you die, you are defeated. You lose. I would like to think that playing styles would become more aware and tactics would be better if there were actually more drawback to death in WvW.

Class balance in this game is a joke.

yes , because warrior is items dependent , and food is an big factor, and in sPvP you are too limited.

The rune i use is earth , So in wvwvw, at first burst i have 33% protection and 3500 armor, that would count as 4700 ?, while i regen 450 hp /sec
i also keep 70% critical damage and more then decent critical rate -over -80% with accuracy stacks and furry .
thieves cannot afford to trade blow for blow with me, guardians cannot damage me…
and sadly other warriors play most bersek builds , wich makes them frags on map
On sPvP i got 30% lower armor and lower critical damage, and that makes me inofensive

lol? I’m sorry, but this is incredibly condescending. I’ve fought and enjoyed plenty of excellent single and group fights in WvW which utilize the same basic play mechanics as sPvP. I get the common mentality that anyone who doesn’t prefer your specific mode of play is obviously doing something “for dummies”, but kindly keep such arrogance to yourself. I actually agreed with a lot of what you said regarding warriors and conditions but WvW is just as viable competitively as sPvP if you fight int the correct setting.

Depends on how they implement it. Will it be every class punishing boons, or just the ones who need it for the sake of balance?

I feel a favouritism from anet towards Guardians, call me what you like, when you have a 1v1 duel with a guardian on a warrior you will understand, no anger fills me more than when i am beat by guardians that aren’t actually better players but they just have a lot more healing abilities, i just wish that AreanaNet would get back to us on this post and tell us whats going to happen with warriors in wvw/spvp.

The day boon hate lets us rip apart their brainless boontank builds is the day I’m going to laugh at guardians’ tears. I already make it a point to pin every one of the kitteny fools in WvW with well-timed Leg Specialist immobilizes just to make sure that bad players can’t waltz in and expect to walk away fine simply because the class offers such a ridiculous amount of survival options when being hammered on by 10 players. Nothing is quite as satisfying as ruining the day of someone who thinks they’re immortal by putting a flag in their skull.

The day when we’ll be balanced to them and comparable 1v1 is coming and is going to be excellent.

I find just the food to be enough most of the time. I also run a warhorn to play the conversion game for me and my group.

Sure, just give up a nice chunk of your survival for that mobility. Like, you know, warrior.

I usually run Greatsword/Axe+Shield/Mace for PvE, sometimes substituting Longbow or Rifle. For WvW I run a Warhorn in my secondary offhand with a different build.

Eh, bit of both. It seems like I never really see a “small” enemy group. It’s either massive or some pair of fools wandering too close to a battle. It’s kind of annoying because my favorite fights are usually the 10-15 on either side; anything larger seems to nuke my game lately. It’ll be fine one second, then suddenly it looks like stop motion, then I’m downed after missing several dozen frame, then I crash to desktop. -_-

Sure would be nice if BP and AR had tactics beyond LOLHUGEZERG. The only reason I’m ever downed in a fight anymore is because the sheer number of you people makes my kitten game crash. I don’t even know how to optimize it further than I’ve got it.

I want to see a greatsword parry in the form of adrenaline.

I’d love if all weapons had different adrenaline burst options. I’ve always felt that greatsword should have a form of parry and other weapons should have various defensive or utility abilities costing adrenaline.

I want a halberd.

Eh, I don’t care for it. When I’m playing PvE, I’m playing PvE; leave me alone. If just going to the Mists isn’t a good enough option, at least put in a way to automatically block the inevitable flood of requests for duels.

So I’m standing in Durios, a big zerg of 30-40 players outside beating on the door, trying to type that the place is toast to the rest of the map and not paying as much attention as I should be to the health of the door. We have like four or five guys on the wall, tops, so I know it’s a lost cause. Two seconds after starting my message, mid-sentence, the door explodes and I’m standing right in front of this massive group of people with maybe one other guy by me.

I go spinning for the door with Whirlwind and get knocked on my kitten by something – likely a guardian wall – and pop Endure Pain. Covered in conditions as I stand, I get briefly knocked back for another second while still invulnerable, giving me just enough time to pop Stamina before touching the portal and not melting from the billions of projectiles in my face.

Because of the sheer amount of people focusing me, I’ve got a couple of conditions left which barely take me below the 10% health point, triggering Vampirism’s mist form, giving me precious feet towards the bridge.

At this point at least ten of them have turned back hoping to finish me and I hit Rush, unfortunately crippled, and am halfway across the bridge. I roll once, dodging a couple of projectiles no doubt meant to pin me, swapping to warhorn mid way and cleanse what I had left/converting them to boons, rolling again for good measure.

Hammering the weapon swap, I manage to pull my greatsword out again and go into hyperspeed towards Stonemist, 25 stacks of precision still intact so that I can turn around to give a /wave to the handful of angry invaders who are staring at me from near the bridge.

The results of this actually fall fairly well in line with my own thoughts.

What Dyroth said. I’ve been loving warhorn in WvW.

Mobility is extremely important, as is removing conditions to avoid being locked down or slowed too much.

Since I’ve started WvWing more after the culling removal patch, I have been using a GS/Axe+Warhorn combo and deal pretty decent amounts of damage while being almost impossible to take out when I want to make my exit. The goal is to move in, cause a substantial amount of damage to softer targets or lock down ones nearer the front who need to die via immobilize and possible other CC skill (sometimes even Kick for lolz), while drawing the silly amount of aggro that two legendaries will get you before escaping. Do this repeatedly to make people rage and focus you even more. I feel I offer good frontline support with the warhorn as well, randomly giving people Regen, Protection, Retaliation, etc. on top of the normal stuff.

The Vamp runes I’m using are something of a new experiment and I may change them depending on how much I actually find myself using them. I find the Restoration sigil surprisingly useful given the sheer amount of things you should be tagging. I’ve played pretty much constantly in WvW since the patch and have died maybe…three times? Always from targeting being odd and causing me to [Rush] right back into an enemy zerg though, haha. When everything is working properly almost nothing can catch you if your group wipes.

I do run in Ehmry Bay, so there aren’t always the gigantic zergs you see in some of the higher tier servers, but I feel I’ve been very effective in say 10v10 or 25v25 situations.

My toughness isn’t anything special. Conditions seem to slide right off though.

I think there should be more removal of specific boons. Let’s kick off Protection or Stability or something.

But yeah, shouting, “SIT DOWN, SON!” would be an epic improvement. I’ve also done enough Spartaaa! kicking off of cliffs for that to be an entertaining option.

I like how it is now. I don’t really care for the enemy to know my name or other achievements; I’m already fairly easy to identify in the field anyway. I don’t understand the desire for all of the senseless bragging and posturing.

lol, flawed logic, applied to what, my subjective preference at not wanting to wait a year to outfit some characters in a game? You forget that no matter what length of time I spend on the game, depending on what gear or items I have in a potentially faster amount of time, my experience during that time as a whole will change. That’s pretty condescending; I don’t need some guy on a forum trying to preach to me about logic.

If your logic were half as good as you seem to believe, you’d stop your incessant argument to get players to play sPvP because, according to your mentality, they should not “have” to play it for the laurels but should already be intrinsically motivated. Looks like the real culprit here is you for not enjoying the way sPvP is currently, rather than attempting to drag other people into it with laurel rewards that you yourself say shouldn’t even be necessary for the “same time frame” you’ll spend on a game anyway. And why the big hurry? Shouldn’t you be waiting a year to see if more people join sPvP after the much needed balance fixes?

Anyway, I’m not on a super time frame, I just don’t want to have to wait a kitten year to outfit my characters with some stat increases. I don’t have the patience to argue with people who insist on dragging this into some mental chest beating contest over “flawed logic” when they can’t even get their own straight. l8r

Yeah, I can do the ones I’m familiar with no problem, it’s just remembering where the “slippery” surfaces are and remembering how to adjust your camera to compensate for it being obstructed by a tree or your character itself or something weird like that. Mostly I feel like I should be aiming jumps and maybe fighting enemies on the way there, instead of the camera. XD

I’m holding right click constantly with my mouse at a fixed distance above my characters’ heads to use AoE more precisely. I can move and turn perfectly, it’s just the air control always feels clunky to me and the objects I’m supposed to be jumping on are often misleading and odd. <_>

A year from now I’d still be saving them to spend on ascended crap because of the outrageous prices to outfit all of my alts. So being able to do that in any reasonable amount of time would force me into sPvP. >_>

Meh, I’ve had enough of this game trying to force me into a certain mode of play for specific rewards with fractals. If they implement additional laurels into sPvP, they’ll likely just jack the prices up to compensate, since Anet doesn’t like us to have nice things. I’m a-okay with a huge percentage of players sticking with PvE/WvW because it’s the mode of play that demands larger numbers of players to function.

A lot of us don’t want to get involved in sPvP because of the sort of players it has. Make sPvP anonymous so that I don’t have to deal with all of the trash talking an inane posturing, and maybe I’ll actually want something other than to see the sPvP players safely quarantined in their box. >_>

If people want laurels for PvE/WvW, shouldn’t they be doing those sorts of activities? If anything I’d rather see laurels awarded for WvW achievements, especially with culling fixed, rather than sPvP.

I’d like it if they smoothed things out a bit if they’re going to keep putting puzzles and such in. I like games like that, but GW2’s mechanics (not to mention horrible camera) always made the puzzles a bit annoying for me in this game.
