They need to scale all of these fights down (including Tequatl and the worms) to be doable by groups as small as 30 (yet still be challenging)
Don’t compare the Knights to the Wurm plz. The LA events are bugged. The Wurm is Elite content. Fixing the first is the solution, but no easy mode for the Wurm.
They werent underpriced. There was a same price for 6 months
I bought thousands of Elaborate Totems for around 10 Silver each. And I’ll be unloading them when the new Legendary weapons come out, and prices spike to 40 Silver each.
So if we buy them directly from the gem store we get refunded. If we got them via keys we bought we’re essentially kittehned. Wonderful.
I’ll add that getting them from the achievement chests replaced an otherwise useful-elsewhere booster.

Yes. And you make it sound like they are offering a limited-time chance to exchange glory boosters for something else, which they are not doing.
Also, a lot of people have more glory boosters than they are able to use in the time they gave people to use them. maybe 1 month of notice? a guildie of mine still has like 400 glory boosters. But let’s assume he didn’t have more when notice was first gave – he would have to be actively doing pvp for 13 hours a day to actually use them in time. He does play a lot, but no where near 13 hours.
We’ve know about this for “months” now. I think I made 60+ Tomes with the Glory I farmed since the warning.

Quaggan potions should have infusion slots too? Ascended quaggan loves you. Coo~~~
Hey there, I would love to have some support on the following mater;
A player offerd me storm for 150G, Wich was way to cheap so I knew he was going to scam me, Still did the trade and took screenshots along the way. Simply to get this guys account locked/banned because im pretty sure i wont be the first or last one he scams.
Thanks so much!
Would you have done Dusk for 150 Gold instead?
It all depends on the situation, and the card merchants involved. Banks usually process card transactions within 3 business days, so if a chargeback was done, Anet would have had to pay back the merchant at that point.
Now as for terminations, there was already a warning in the User Agreement. Any account hit with a chargeback is perma-banned, and the credircard and e-mail address blacklisted. This is to prevent future fraudulent transactions. That means you can’t buy a new account and use that same creditcard with Anet, and can’t that same e-mail address to register a new account.

Since when can potions have slots?
No Lankybird, I think you can’t even depict bones in Chinese games. So Orr might be explained as a monster fest, rather than an undead army.

This silly thread needs to close. There’s a difference between tactics and exploits. Stacking is not an exploit, and players know this.
Know how to fix this? Transfer before March 18. Or tank your ratings for the next week, so your server is no longer 1-12.
We must give them hugs to keep warm. It’s an upcoming Heart event!
Cooooooooooooooo~~~~~~~~~~
You do realize that not all enemies can be DPS’d, right? Existing mechanics for certain ones require Condi damage. Zergs of people who don’t understand this tend to have a hard time killing them.
The Mega Laser just stuns. The damage comes from you.
Invest in Gems, then go to JQ.
But see that’s the thing, I shouldn’t have to devise my own challenges to that degree should I? Oh do naked Lupi runs…well, that just shows how little challenge is actually built in to the game in the first place.
Try doing naked WvW roaming. I find that challenging, esp. when you have 10 Invaders chase you down.
Try playing naked while you naked WvW roam and have a bowl of hot chili in your lap. Talk about a challenge.
Neither my wife nor my leather chair approve of your idea.
While low tier server transfers are free, if you want to get into T1 JQ, better transfer now while the price is low. Best way to guarantee yourself tickets.

Try Arah path 4 if you’re bored with high level Fractals. Or if you’re really up for a challenge, try to 5-man the Claw of Jormag.
I want to see the places again where my Ritualist first came into the world and where she lived, fought for her land and explored. Even though she has no marked grave, I can find some favorite spot and stand there saying, This is it. This is where she rests.
Please bring back Cantha.
In Memoriam: Astral Projections
This x 1000. We need Ritualists back, along with Cantha. And playable quaggan race.
So because your security is lacking, you want the company to put in even more verifications beyond what’s currently available? How far are you asking them to go? Phone call? If so, how do the CS Agents know that’s you on the other end of the line? Want them to request a signed letter? How do the CS Agents know if you really signed it, and it’s not a forgery?
You do realize that the best way to determine if someone is who they are is through the e-mail address connected to their game account? If you lose access to one of the things that should be the most secure, far worse things could happen than just losing a video game account.

Koven, you should buy the original GW:Factions, and try it out. Then you’ll see why this thread is so huge.
Reasons why your server seems “dead”
1) Guesting to popular servers to play with skilled players in PvE
2) Transferring to higher tiered servers to play with skilled players in WvW
3) Your server is populated in time zones opposite of you
4) Everyone’s doing content in places that you’re not
OP, what’s your take on Champ Trains?
Wow… just… wow. You had your e-mail compromised, and you have the nerve to blame Anet for allowing the hacker to gain access to your Guild Wars 2 account… through your e-mail address? If you had bank account information in your inbox, would you blame your bank of the hacker gained access to your financial information?
There’s already steps available to provide multi-layered security to access your GW2 account. If you aren’t using them, that’s not Anet’s fault either. Please read the following:

So yeah, this is not a complaint or anything but this community has reached a new low by making low level characters and speed running the first personal story to completion to get black lion keys. Delete character and rinse repeat.
Either these players are extremely bored or they are so poor that they can’t spend a few bucks to buy the gems from the cash shop.
Devs confirmed last year that this is completely ok to do. It’s a matter of choice in how you want to spend your time. Running new toons may not be fun to me or you, but they’re profitable by way of BL Keys.
Another overflow this evening, another failure.
2x Knight’s actually killed, with green going down as the timer expired! But blue was still on 50% health.
How many more times do we need to ask for these bosses to be nerfed?!
See here:
I am not ignorant to how code works. Although I myself am not a programmer.
If I were a programmer. I dont think I would release more bugged code before fixing whats already bugged( core of game ). To me that makes the job harder and now your working backwards.
I’m not a firefighter, but if I were, I wouldn’t let any buildings burn down. Because you just need to point the water at the fire, right?

Yeah… I’d say this was bugged. I’ve fought a Knight where it just magically melted before. Especially after they increased the Knights Armor.
btw, can TTS do anything without Fire Elementals? You’re the reason we have this stupid timer on them now! Grrrrr……
We use Fire Ele Powder, Orge Pet Whistles, and Seed Turrets. If we didn’t use them, Anet wouldn’t have known that they were OP.
but I hope to take advantage of the patch notes!
Shhhhhhhhhhh. Trade secrets.

how do dodge????
By camping at a Black Lion Trading rep. No enemies can hit you there.
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294
Actually, you need good players too. Players that understand simple concepts like how to keep up 25 stacks of might, when to use what skills, how to use ele weapons, when to dodge, how to keep up a stability rotation, what food to use best, what extra buffs to get…
So no, coordination on its own doesnt give you kitten. You can coordinate all day long if you have only players that cant dodge and only autoattack on your overflow.
You just slapped me with a reality check.
Those points are shockingly true. But at the same time, new epic content that’s hugely bugged is just as depressing.
One thing I’d like to point out is that on the test servers, none of the achievements or rewards/loot are transferred to your real account. It would be a completely separate server, with a focus on just the main Open World content. So no Scarlet fight, no story advancement.
It’s the only idea I could think of that could help Anet flush out bugs. This current LS, while the best so far (IMO), is countered by the fact that a lot of stuff can’t be done properly. People getting achievements for not completing content. People not getting achievements for completing content. Scaling issues. Etc.
What is this ********… Are you seriously writing the same thing 3rd time? Instead of reading?
Then let me write the same thing again. Maybe you’ll read it, but I’m probably just tricking myself into hoping that you will.
I’m asking for more hardcore content if players(of server X) succeed in doing what we have now, easier content if they fail.
*Basically, fractals. Except those are limited at level 50, but before the patch sky was the limit and you could even make a ladder ranking based on that. Imagine that our beginning level is ~20. You can climb all the way to 100 or something(by beating boss to a pulp repeatedly and proving that it is too weak to match you), or fall down to 1(even failing before, now you get a chance to beat it).
Right now, on a scale of 1 to 100, you could say that “hardcore” events are stuck at level 60 or 70. Wurm would probably be 75 or 80. Elite players would eagerly be fighting the Wurm at levels above 85, hoping to prove they are good to hit 100(or whatever limit would be set). Casual players, on the other hand, could enjoy doing the event at easier difficulties.
Nope. Casuals can join in on Teq or Wurm runs all they want. But scaling down because you’re unwilling to organize is the wrong direction for Elite content. I have a feeling that you’re not reading what Anet’s intent was for this content. It was only meant for the hardcores. All players are welcome to try it, but the difficulty is so high, that you need mass coordination to achieve success.
Here, please take a deep breath, and read the following carefully. I’ll even edit the quote down so you can focus on the main point:
We were making that specifically for the hard core groups that are all about the organization and figuring out the strategy and tactics.
Your idea would completely destroy one of the few Elite content events in this game. Hardcore players have only 1% of the game that’s hairpulling hard. In fact, it’s even less than that, since Tequatl has gotten so easy, we need to pull back our DPS, or we end up bugging him out. So what we have left is the Great Wurm, and killing the three Knights in under 6 minutes. And you can’t compare Fractals, because you don’t need 150 people to kill the Jade Maw (though that’s a good idea).
So if you’d like to try our content, you are more than welcome to join. Blackgate, Deso, TxS, TTS, etc. Pick a group, guest over, and join in. The Hardcore community works together to take on content like this. TTS was the first to get to the 2nd phase Wurm, talked strategy with others, Deso comes up with new tactics, and is World’s First kill. That only happened because Anet made this content. Making it “Easy Mode” only harms us.

It’s call coordination. Everyone is capable of organizing. You just need to put in time and effort.

Confirmed kill and no achievement. But it might have had to do with wonky scaling, similar to what happened to the Wurm.
In 1000-2000 years there will be a global religion based around the mysteries of the RNG of MMORPGs of the early 21st century. This thread will be a hymn sung at tuesday mass.
Confirmed – John Smith is a deity.
While I know Anet has a test server that mimics the live ones, and all content is run though the QA team, perhaps it’s time to expand your testing? The reason why so many bugs are showing up, is because I don’t think Anet can really account for the mad rush and randomness of the average player. What goes through the average player’s mind cannot be duplicated in a controlled setting inside Anet HQ. You need live samples!
I propose that with all new, major content releases, Anet should send out invites to players to jump on the test servers, and allow us to play how we do on the live servers. Let us queue up, and run amok in a closed Beta test. It worked with EotM, and we were able to give both bug reports, and valuable feedback for minor tweaks here and there.
I guarantee you that we’ll be able to flush out more bugs than in Alpha testing. It’s a win-win situation. Select players could get a sneak preview of new content, and Anet gets feedback to fix problems before going live.
I think it’s about time that we have a Cantha CDI. We need to work with the Devs to come up with a way to get this added to the next Living Story.
Cantha would improve this game. It would also increase NCSoft’s revenue stream, as I would throw endless money at them for this content.
All content should be doable by everyone
Exactly. All content is doable by everyone. But in order to be successful, you need to put in effort. So if you want to do an easy boss like the Shadow Behemoth, that’s available to you. If you want to do really hard Raid type bosses, the Great Wurm is there. But don’t expect to just walk in and beat him. Gather 150 of your friends or server-mates, learn the mechanics, and organize a win.
I’ll repeat it again, but perhaps you should understand that reading is more important than writing(not to mention copypasting), and not the other way around.
I’m proposing the idea to have more elite content, while letting “weaker groups/servers” find the game more enjoyable than it currently is.
Letting “weaker” groups do it is the opposite of what Elite content is. So you should consider the following quote. I’ll repeat it again so you have a chance to actually read it. It contains the reason why this content was made:
Hey, thanks everyone! We spent a lot of time tweaking the balance on this, and I’m glad that so many people appreciate our efforts. We REALLY like hearing that people are making memories and cheering each other on. Those are the kinds of experiences we make MMOs for.
I’m not surprised that the Wurm is not liked by as many people. We were making that specifically for the hard core groups that are all about the organization and figuring out the strategy and tactics. It’s really cool watching the community grapple with this puzzle and innovate as they get closer and closer to finding a winning strategy.
Anet doesn’t undo player mistakes. But you’re free to try and submit a Support Ticket. If they help you, great. If they no, then I’m sorry for your loss. Please be more careful in the future.
(edited by Smooth Penguin.5294)
Before citating and writing, I advise you to learn how to read first.
And before asking for “Easy Mode”, you should first understand why Anet put in Elite content for the hardcore groups. Please read the following:
Hey, thanks everyone! We spent a lot of time tweaking the balance on this, and I’m glad that so many people appreciate our efforts. We REALLY like hearing that people are making memories and cheering each other on. Those are the kinds of experiences we make MMOs for.

But I digress. Your complaints amount to “make dailies easier for me to get”. And when you reply with “I only do Dungeons”, you solidify the reasons on why your arguments aren’t justified.
One more time – Dailies are easy to get as they are. You can play naturally in this game, and still do your daily meta.
You ignored and continued to ignore my point.
I don’t care about difficulty. I care that however I want to play, I want to eventually get my dailies done as I play. This suggestion does not stop you from playing however you want to play.
Just don’t expect to get rewarded if you don’t want to expand past only a single aspect of the game.
Which is why Dailies need change. I am forced to play a certain way to get rewarded.
How about instead of mudslinging me and insulting me, here is the question: What are the negatives about this suggestion? Why are you trying so hard to make this idea a bad one?
You worried about players not wanting to do other things? I already have a solution: Those specific zone dailies will be faster to finish than the natural way.
You just stated that you only care about how “you” want to play. You keep wanting to be rewarded for only how “you” play. Think about that for a moment. It’s fine if you want to play how you want to play. However, the Daily Meta has requirements that are easy as it is already. By asking for Anet to modify a reward system to automatically give players daily/monthly rewards for no effort, you are effectively asking them to just give you free stuff for logging in. That is why I’m so against your idea.
So bottom line. You have multiple options to get your daily reward. Some are simple like gathering or crafting. Some are harder like do a jumping puzzle. If any of these simple things are too difficult to do during normal game play, then Dailies aren’t for you.
No. Tequatl and the Great Wurm were meant to be hard. If you want to do it, you need to coordinate with your guilds, friends, and others on your server. Having it “Easy Mode” defeats the whole purpose of Elite Content.
I understand that you want to kill it, as do a lot of others. You just need to work hard for it. I’ll leave you with the following:
Hey, thanks everyone! We spent a lot of time tweaking the balance on this, and I’m glad that so many people appreciate our efforts. We REALLY like hearing that people are making memories and cheering each other on. Those are the kinds of experiences we make MMOs for.

@chemiclord
Did someone from anet actually say that they don’t want everyone to be able to attempt tequatl from their own server, or are you just assuming that, because they haven’t responded, and that’s what you want to believe?
Here’s Josh explaining their intent with Teq and Wurm events:
Hey, thanks everyone! We spent a lot of time tweaking the balance on this, and I’m glad that so many people appreciate our efforts. We REALLY like hearing that people are making memories and cheering each other on. Those are the kinds of experiences we make MMOs for.

Working as intended.
I think the best solution to this would be to get the name before anyone else can. If you don’t, then find another name. Even people with characters on perma-banned accounts retain their character names. Nothing is deleted, just access is blocked.
None of the items in the gem store are needs. I covered that in my original post. Your average person is not going to buy 25 stacks of keys. I am not worried I can’t get them without the chests. I am complaining because you need to spend an asinine amount of money just to get those tickets for a skin… Something which offers a large amount of exclusive content. Do I feel I deserve a skin from every chest? Absolutely not, but I do feel I am not going to blow a car payment’s worth of money on keys just to land a skin or something else of equivalent value because that’s not logical with my money. “People who can afford” is NOT a good business tactic for a game based on targeting all ages with all these chests popping up repeatedly. It is a much more viable business tactic to sell high volume at cheaper prices than vice versa.
My point: if you’re going to go through the rounds of making people gamble for tickets, don’t punch them in the gut by offering pieces of things with such a ridiculous drop rate. What’s next? Booster fragments to combine to make one 3-hour booster?
Providing an option for players who can afford to spend money on microtransactions IS a good tactic on two fronts. 1) It creates revenue for the company and 2) creates rarity among the exclusive Gem Store skins, since not everyone will buy BL Keys to get tickets.
Point 1 is self explanatory, so I’ll cover Point 2. Rarity of an item can lead to its desirability. If something is rare, it’s sought it. People want it for themselves, so they’re driven to get one. At this point, you can convert Gold to Gems to buy keys, buy the item directly via the Trading Post, or buy keys with real money (the last relates to Point 1). By offering items in bulk, you destroy the prestige of having it, as it’s no longer rare. The more people who have it, the less impact there is. That leads to less people wanting it, and then the item becomes semi worthless.
I’ll use the example of the item Final Rest. This item was supposed to be ultra rare, so everyone wanted it. After the Devs fixed the drop rate of this item, it went from an item everyone wanted, to an item that’s immediately sold, since no one wants it anymore. A similar thing could happen with Molten/Jade/Tormented weapon skins if everyone could easily get one. But right now, the only way to get these exclusive skins is using tickets from the chests, or from other players who have used tickets from the chest.
It all comes down to what you want. If you truly want an item, you have options to get them. There are players who haven’t spent a single penny on this game, yet have all they want from Gold to Gem conversions. Plus, you can bypass RNG completely by using the TP to buy whichever skin you want. When you understand these options, the less you’ll complain.
Heart quests are meant to take you deeper into the map. Usually there are events that pop up that lead you to Hearts. Kinda like breadcrumbs to guide you. As long as you do these events, you’ll get enough XP to level. And as you level, more of the game is opened up. Also, grab WayPoints along the way, so you can quickly port to locations on the map.
This isn’t a game where you can just start a new character, and blaze through content. It takes a little effort to get stronger. Once you hit higher levels, you can do more dungeon or raid type events.
