Note – Since they confirmed that a fix is imminent for the drop rates of Cores/rewards, it might be a good time to unload them all now while the prices are high.
Layman’s terms – SELL SELL SELL!!!
I felt that long time players should have more prestige than what’s already offered with the HoM rewards. Free skins and an exclusive title is nice, but I would have rather had my Tormented weapons able to be passed down to my current character. Would have been even better if the Tormented weapons were exclusive to GW1 players who worked hard for them.
I can’t really disagree with that, but that would have needed to happen back in 2012. It’s too late to be giving exclusives to GW1 players. We are a big part of why Anet was successful and were able to make GW2, but we are a minority in GW2’s playerbase today. The time for exclusive items for us is long over.
That’s true. GW2 evolved since opening day. But with the release of Tormented weapons, it brought back memories of actually having to work hard to get those, and hoping we could pass them down.
Nothing in GW2 makes me want to do a 16 hour dungeon run to get unique weapons like in GW1 (even though there’d be mucho complaintos if there was). That type of grind was worth it back then. :P
I’m already in a guild, but thanks for the offers.
One of the reasons I created this thread is to see if Anet is aware of the issue and maybe have a solution for it.
What do you mean by this? Tequatl and the Great Wurm are Elite level content. It’s not meant to be successfully done by everyone. Only the hardcore, coordinated groups are regularly successful. That doesn’t mean you’re not free to try and organize a run for yourself. In fact, it’s encouraged that you try.
Working as intended.
Hey! It’s another P2W thread!
Sorry OP, but I don’t think you understand what P2W really means. I was supposed to make a thread to explain the difference a while back, but got lazy.
My question to you is, why do you feel compelled to even complete the daily? It is optional content to reward you for participating in normal game play.
The OP wants to be rewarded not just for “normal” game play, but rather for the way “he” plays.
I don’t really get OP.
He either wants freebies for playing GW1 or he wants to limit GW2 stuff to players who had no interest in GW1.
I’ll break it down for you.
GW1 players made Anet a success. But then again, other players informed me that those weapons were given away freely towards the end of GW1.
GW2 is connected to GW1 lore wise. The HoM was to store your GW1 achievements, so that your GW2 characters could benefit for their “ancestors” 250 years ago. So even if a GW2 player doesn’t care about GW1, I still do, and my 50/50 HoM confirms this. And as I stated earlier, this is just my self-centered opinions.
True. It isn’t, so I am trying to change the way dailies work.
PvP dailies can be played naturally, I would like PvE dailies to work like that too.
What if I don’t want to capture points in SPvP, and only want to fight/kill other players. In that regards, those dailies can’t be played naturally for me.
But I digress. Your complaints amount to “make dailies easier for me to get”. And when you reply with “I only do Dungeons”, you solidify the reasons on why your arguments aren’t justified.
One more time – Dailies are easy to get as they are. You can play naturally in this game, and still do your daily meta. If you don’t like to gather, don’t like to kill enemies, don’t like to rez NPCs or other players, don’t like to dodge, don’t like to craft, don’t like to visit Laurel vendors, etc, then don’t do them. Play the game how you want to play. Just don’t expect to get rewarded if you don’t want to expand past only a single aspect of the game.
Scarlet Stomp is extremely annoying

If it really is an issue of ping, then this is really badly designed.
Ping isn’t an issue of design. It’s an issue of where you are in the world, and how good your IP provider is. I know people in Germany who play on NA servers with no issues at all, and the distance from them to the Seattle servers are far greater than any Oceanic countries.
I wasn’t saying Ping was a design issue, I’m saying it’s a design factor.
If you tune an event expecting everyone to have 50 ping then it will be impossible for those in countries where the best possible ping to U.S. servers regardless of ISP is 400+
On the other hand, if you tune an event expecting some people to have 400+ ping, it will be far too easy for people with 50 ping.
Therefore, designing anything that is going to be ping dependent is bad design.
P.S – Germany to the US = 4,882 miles
– New Zealand to the US = 7793 miles
Sorry about that one. I wasn’t considering latitude + longitude when guestimating the distance.
But the fact still remains, there’s no reason for Anet to redesign challenging content because of ping. As you’ve stated both pros and cons for both ways, I’m sure you understand this. The same complaint came up with the SAB platforming. Some people couldn’t time their jumps because they lagged behind. This is an unfortunate price to pay.
That said, you need to decide of stressing over a single achievement is worth it or not. If you feel that it’s a ping/lag issue, and not a skill issue, you should skip it all together.
If you want a Rooster, there’s one on the Zodiac Horn.

Neither of those Twitter accounts are run by ArenaNet.
Then I’m very curious as to how @ScarletBriar tweeted this picture before the patch was released:
I suppose you are being technical and Anet doesn’t run that account, but a 3rd party fansite that is being fed art is posting it?
I never thought about this before. There are a handful of MMO sites that get teaser/spoiler information, as well as early access to events on the test servers. Maybe Dulfy is having a little fun on the side?
As long as there’s plenty of people doing it in overflow shouldn’t be much of an issue. First time I did it was in overflow and it didn’t fail once.
Still stuck in overflows, still unable to kill the knights.
[EDIT] Just tried guesting on another server, same story.
This event is a complete and utter joke! Three days now and unable to even get the achievements for killing Scarlet and the Hologram (simple achievements) because of being forced into overflows and groups that cannot even kill one knight, let alone three!
Proposed Fix:
Nerf the bosses in overflows. Simple.
As stated:
Sounds like you’re complaining more about the lack of skill of the players you’re with. Anet shouldn’t be making an “Easy Mode” just because you’re unable to do content. That wouldn’t be fair to those who have to work hard to get the same achievements you’re after.
I would recommend that if you hate failing so much, buy a Commander Tag, and try to lead people to victory. If they don’t listen, you can at least say you tried.
I was looking through old posts to see if this had been brought up before. This is my biggest issue with the airship pass! Why can’t it put you back in the ship after doing an activity, pvp, or even logging out? I bought a permanent pass as a convenience item, but it is very inconvenient that I am kicked off the ship all the time. Especially since it seems to take a good 10-15 seconds to load down below.
Airships have limited space in the cabin, so stairs can’t simply be “re-positioned”. People who own airships understand that you have to sacrifice a few luxuries in order to have functionality.
TLDR: People should WANT to keep and open up their chests. You all at ArenaNet have failed to do this effectively. Look at the trader and you’ll see clear evidence of that along with people readily destroying these chests as soon as they get them. For such a potential money maker and the fact you push them so hard, this makes ZERO sense. No, nobody forced anyone to buy the chests, but it’s pushed hard and I am not okay with this when it’s currently setting people up for disappointment in a game for entertainment value. Using probability tactics to pull people’s money is a low move.
It only makes zero sense to people who don’t understand how the business works. These items locked behind the chests are completely optional. If you want them, you need to invest Gold or real money into getting keys to open them. And because some of these skins take so many tickets to get, that makes them much more rare and valuable. People who can afford to buy Gems will do so to get keys, and that helps the game with microtransaction revenue. Case in point, I bought three “25 stacks” of BL Keys a few months ago, and I’ve never converted Gold to Gems.
The main mistake you’re making with your complaint is that you don’t know the difference between what you want, and what you need. You want the items that are locked behind the chests, therefore you complain that you can’t get them. This is working as intended. If the items weren’t desirable, you wouldn’t want them. See how it works? Going further, since you don’t need these items to play the game, Anet is not forcing anyone to invest in BL Key purchases. Simply toss the locked chests if you get one as a drop.
Assault Knight Power Cores may or may not be available after the Living Story ends, so there’s a chance that they can skyrocket in price similar to Azurite Orbs. Of course, I can’t be sure that these will never drop again. If there’s a Dev interview that confirms this or not, I haven’t seen it.
I opened 79 BL Chests a few days ago. I got 1 full ticket, and 14 scraps. RNG is RNG. If you’d like more, please buy BL Keys from Evon, and support our local hero charr.

I just did this without using any Stealth or Quickness. All you need to do is avoid the red circles, know when to dodge, and stomp quickly. Practice makes perfect. If you hate waiting through the end cutscenes, go watch Dulfy’s video.
where is the option for 'delete account'?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294
Players may request for account deletions, but that has to be done through Customer Support. But even though that option is available, as others have pointed out, you can just walk away and not log in anymore.
I was in an overflow for around 3 hours. I eventually logged off then back in to get a new overflow because it felt like the overflow was barely full the entire time I was there. I figured it might have been one of the last overflows created. I logged back in to find myself on the main server and was able to stay on main the rest of the night, even when switching maps.
I think there’s a problem with overflows. They need to add a visible queue, in the same way they did for WvW.
As long as the overflow is full however, there should be no problem completing this event.
If you’re a tier 1 server player, you might see your queue number like #600 in line for this event. That would be really depressing.
A stick, ANet… A STICK!! Is that what they call a Staff now? Even Gnarles would disapprove! A stick!!!
I’m even scared to purchase it because it would probably break on my way home! This is what a Staff should look like…
When I was a little kid, I used to break off tree branches, and use them as wands pretending to slay dragons. So don’t knock sticks, since they can take you to a magical place.
Here, have a free Princess Wand from me
I already have three, but thanks!
Exploiting a farm spot that spawned too many mobs too quickly lead to Anet taking action. So the event was fixed, and players were hit with warnings. The biggest offenders got the perma-ban hammer.
Just did another failed knight event in overflow…
Managed to kill 2/3 knights, got the 3rd to about 25% then the time ran out.
These bosses need to be nerfed! Seriously! Overflow players cannot complete the event because of this.
Pro tip – The Knights scale up the more people are there. Try getting people to split into smaller groups to take them all down, if zerging makes the event too hard.

Or this is player error. Of course all we’re doing is assuming. I would agree with Gaile that having an agent spend time researching the assumed loss of 5 Gold, that’s wasting their time. I’m temped just to send the OP the Gold myself to save Customer Support the hassles of rejecting his request.

The Daily metas support various ways of playing. And you get to pick which ones to complete.
Daily do not support various ways of playing. It support only one way. That one way is to slide around.
If I want to play dungeons only, daily do not support that.
If I want to champ zerg only, daily do not support that.
If I want to fractal only, daily do not support that.At most the above will only support 1-2 activities.
If that’s the way you play, then Dailies aren’t for you. Sorry mate.
I vote Logan x Rytlock.
That has to be your first post I’ve ever +1’d
Kinda figured Logan was a furry with that hair. Either that or a Twihard hiding behind his armor
That means you hate me 99.9% of the time. :P

Two things to consider.
1) There’s an invisible barrier near Scarlet, so if you get too close, or too far into the doorway, it’s an insta-knock back. You have to spike her from the outside edge of your stomp circle
2) Even if you do start your stomp on the outside edge, her red circle is a tell that she’s about to stun lock/knock back combo you. So when you’re in the stomp motion, 1/2 second after the red circle shows, you need to dodge backwards. As you evade the knock back, you need to dodge or rush back forward to start your stomp again. You have just enough time to pull it off without quickness before her knock back cooldown is up.
I vote Logan x Rytlock.
Anyone else notice in the last week or so (before the latest update) that when salvaging rares with Black Lion, mystic, or masters kits that you’re getting a LOT less ecto?
I used to get an average of 1-3 ecto/rare, and maybe 1-2 of 10 would not have any ecto. Lately it’s been around 1 ecto for every 5-6 rares, very noticeable. Though I could be wrong, it does not seem like RNG here.
Am I the only one?
I used the Mystic Forge twice the other day. Once with Major Sigils that gave me a Superior Sigil. And once with Major Runes, which gave me a Superior Rune. Back to back. Should my conclusion be that upgraded items from the MF have increased in output?
Forgive me, but I’m still not sure what the issue is. Here’s how I understand it
Hour 1 – Tequatl
Hour 2 – Wurm
Hour 3 – Tequatl
Hour 4 – Wurm
This is how the events have been updated, right?
In other words, You think that your way is the only natural way, Sliding around and play things that some people and/or I may not like. You don’t like that I should be rewarded however I want to play.
So what you’re complaining about, is that Anet didn’t mold their reward mechanics to support “only” your way of playing?
When they revamped the Dailies/Monthlies to include a choice between multiple options, that made getting the minimum to complete the meta so much easier. I’m sorry you feel it’s so hard to gather 20 times, or kill 50 enemies.
Wrong.
I am disgusted that Anet didn’t mold their reward mechanics to support every way of playing. So stop accusing me of trying to make anet reward only my way.
But that’s the very thing you’re asking for. You play a certain way, and you want to be rewarded for it. It’s like you play some super Casual mode, where simple tasks seems to pull you away from your intended way of playing. The rewards are easy enough to do so as you play naturally. Gather 20 times? I can do that in between battles in WvW. Kill ambient creatures? Takes a second to swing your sword while running. Crafting 10 items? You can get that just by refining mats like Iron Ore to Ingots.
The Daily metas support various ways of playing. And you get to pick which ones to complete. If you want to be rewarded for everything like running 50 steps sideways, or for using /emotes 20 times, I think you’re asking too much.
Doubtful as any Anet dev that plays the game can always get into the main server so it doesn’t really affect them does it.
Actually, when we’re playing the game, our accounts are just like everyone else’s accounts. We do not have easy access at all. I’ve played this content in numerous overflows. Many of us aren’t flagged, but we are out there playing with you.
Ok cool. So you know first hand how your LS world event mechanic and instancing are not compatible with a pleasant gaming experience. Overflow Instancing means there is no way to control the members in your “world” and the complexity of the events requires coordination and at least a certain amount of players with skill, gear, and understanding of the underlying mechanic. While I ran the marrionette thing about 30 times with only 2 completions, I really don’t see myself running the Holo thing much at all. Probably just kill the three knights and then do something else. Group roulette is simply lame and the loot isn’t worth the 15:1 loses. Spoon
If you feel it’s not worth doing, then do something else. Tyria has much more content than just Lion’s Arch. Go do some Jumping Puzzles. Try a Dungeon. Test your skills in FotM. Help your server in WvW.
That said, I find doing this event with 50+ of your guildies to be fun and pleasant experience. The loot is awesome too! Core prices are still pretty overpriced, so we’re making good money selling them on the TP.
The End. Answers? I really didn't find any.

Dulfy’s video shows her (or a friend) doing this within 10 seconds. It’s not an exploit when you understand the mechanics.
No, I just need the bosses in overflow servers/venues to be nerfed so people can actually kill them.
The event is impossible because failure after failure. It’s a complete and utter waste of time being in an overflow group, and why should we spend hours getting a knight to 50% only to have it fail? Especially when every other player on the server has the achievements and back upgrades already and I’m here without a single backpiece upgrade item and require 10! It’s frustrating to say the least.
Sounds like you’re complaining more about the lack of skill of the players you’re with. Anet shouldn’t be making an “Easy Mode” just because you’re unable to do content. That wouldn’t be fair to those who have to work hard to get the same achievements you’re after.

So…. a one hour time difference is game breaking for you? On a related note, why should Anet make major shifts in scheduling because one or two people are inconvenienced? What about the 150 people who now can do both Wurm and Teq back to back? This change is a blessing.

Any backpack will do to allow you to go into the instance bypassing the big fight, even if you only have it in your inventory, but needs to be soulbound.
The main confusion comes from the “Build your own backbone” achievement, which you get by equipping the exotic or higher version, but it’s unrelated to the actual teleport.
Ah, that clears things up. I don’t know of too many people who would actually equip a single bladed pack, so that never crossed by mind.

That’s the total damage from a constant chain of attacks. I’d be impressed if it were a single hit, much like hitting an ambient creature.
