I’d love this if they add a check to make sure you can see the ground point below your target before casting it. Else it would be super OP on walls at keeps or towers in WvW.
Which is one reason why I don’t think this would be implemented. It would confuse the crap out of people, particularly since the red messages informing you of targets being out of range and whatnot are even less visible than the rather visible green circle of a ground targeted skill.
It would also completely change the gameplay on a staff Ele or staff Necro, since a lot of their skills are ground targeted.
Lastly, it would kitten up Consecrated Ground since it would effectively make all of them to be on-target casts, which doesn’t make any sense.
that’s why it should be a choice for players.
If it messes up certain skills or plays differently, they don’t have to use it.
#shrugs#
or anet could look at their mouse design, and find a way to make it nice an obvious rather than hidden in the mix of colours.
After we get the colored tags someone needs to organize and create commander tag pixel art on the map
Perhaps an 8-bit frog or something >.>
I’m sooooo there
lol
We would need 134 people with tags >.>
start a guild: Dorrito Graffiti
:P

I have a bit of a burning question about trading minis. Say I’ve bought a few minis which a year later I’ve sold to make some funds towards other stuff in game… the minis aren’t in my collection anymore. Is this new functionality retroactive to minis that I’ve had in the collection, ie. does the system pick up that I’ve had these minis in my collection and unlock them, or do I have to actually have these minis in my collection at the time?
No.
you will have to add them to the wardrobe.
Many people did this to get the achievements. Despite having the achievements, the mini they used, still exists somewhere.
if it was retroactive, you’d be getting mini’s for nothing.
Isn’t there an option for this already in options tab?
Not on the target.
There’s an option for instant skill when you press it…so whereever your mouse is.
but retty useless when you can’t spot your mouse half the time.
I’d love an option to auto cast to target.
sometimes especially in zergs, its almost in impossible to see my mouse, and the green circle can be hard to spot too….really annoying
if you want a 100 and they only want 3..maybe wait instead? you know patience.
if I only want 1 or 2 and see a bit of 100 or something high like that. I will ALWAYS over bid.
I don’t want to wait for your 100 order to fill before I might get my items.
If on the other hand though, I want a 100, and I see someone bidding for 1 or 2, I tend to underbid them or price at the same, and wait ..
I use WvW, no wp costs, Rainmaker.
and mystic kits.
Or carry 4-5 kits.
silver o matic, is pricy for what it does, and anet should be ashamed
I main a Necro and I’d say they should change it to match the adrenaline change to be fair.
Necros already completely demolish warriors and should never ever lose a fight to them. Now, warriors will be easier to steam roll.
I’ll adapt.
nice try warrior.
If necros lost lf ooc, they’d almost never have life force.
another thread, few posts in it explain the difference in necro life force.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/necromancer/Adrenaline-Decay-will-we-see-LF-Decay“They are different mechanics. But adrenaline for warriors is filled after just a few attacks and fills up with almost any move. It comes as an afterthought. We have limited ways to fill up life force.”
The only comment thats actually explaining differences is that statement, which happens to be completly untrue.
If you take a target and spam 1 with Nec/War, I bet the Necros LF Bar fills before Adren. You just have to use correct skills if you want to gain life force over utility skills.
Warriors can choose to use zerk stance, cleansing ire, inspire shouts etc, to gain adren in a few strikes but thats TRAITED and also it has a cd. The regular adren gain when a war hits is quite slow and would take ages without an outside source.
you bet?
LOL you bet??? from 0 to full lol
necros take ages to fill life force bar, and fills best with enemy death.
wars fill regardless the skill they use, ..I guarantee you, wars are quicker EVERY time
i dont expect it to be changed . i dont really have the will to start a protest either. Id perfer it was changed, but I dont count on it.
just seeing what people here think.
Again.
Wrong forum section.
also. It won’t be changed because it’s TOTALLY different mechanic. With totally different skills, and necro also have a much harder time to fill their life force.
Oh and hey, we can’t heal while we’re using it >.>
You’re just upset your war might actually be harder to play rather than go to, for everything.

profession balance, is the forum you want mate
Was this not mentioned in the necro forums already?
and explained why doing that to necro is a TERRIBLE idea?
They are totally totally different mechanics.
Wait….is that….Link!?
LOL.
My thoughts exactly.
would be a decent cosplay XD
Why it can’t just be a nice gift uppon 2nd Birthday? Or 5th.
I would give the upgrade free to whoever plays with linked GW1 acc since release and even today.
Alot of people would complain about that, as likely there’s a large number of buyers who also played gw1.
I don’t think that’s a very a fair request.
I’d love to see the digital delux upgrade on sale. (in game one.)
I’d definitely purchase it! mistfire wolf being greyed is itching the completionist in me ><
I want to bump this, because,
any chance of this going on sale again?.
I really want that mistfire wolf XD but 30quid for it is a little much. ):
Really should start a new topic rather than bumping on that’s been dead for four months.
That being said, you missed it when it went on sale a few weeks ago.
That wasn’t the in game one.
T_T

They’ll go down again. I bought Mini Seraph Mage at 40 silver yesterday afternoon, sold it at 3 gold, and now it’s 1 gold. I’m guessing Mini Seraph Mage will be back down to 40 silver a few days after the feature pack, just like with what happened to dyes.
Any particular reason why they should go down after the feature patch?
The price spike right now was just fueled by speculation, no minis have been destroyed yet (unless people forged them), so today there are more or less as much minis in game as yesterday. After the feature patch consumption by binding them to players wardrobes will set in, so why would the price go down? For the same reason dye prices went down. Any repeat minis will be sold off, traded, or given away. By then everyone will have the minis they want, and the demand will go back to what it was.
Cept, there’s ALOT of people who never bothered to collect mini’s or keep them (after the AP.)
THAT will change.
people now going for the new AP, will be forced to collect them. People who are now happy mini’s are actually easy to use, will start collecting them.
There is the fac that people with doubles are more likely to sell them now, but how many would that be compared to people who are going to start collecting?
The forge doesn’t distinguish in output between sets 1, 2 and 3. In other words, forging 4 minis from set 3 may result, for example, in a jackalope (set 1) or an enraged twisted nightmare (set 2). Or simply a random rare mini from set 1, 2 or 3.
Maybe that helps alleviate some of your concerns.
I did not know that.
That’s good to know.
Now if only we’ll be able to throw in extra queen Jennahs into the toilet >.>
I’d assume the old achievements will move to the “history” part of the hero panel, where all the old LS achievements are? (I think….not in game atm.)
If that’s the case, you won’t lose your AP, but you will not be able to finish it either.
There will be new AP for the “new” collections.
The mini collector buyers continue to be the one group I simply do not understand.
Me neither, and I’m one of them XD.
this thing still exist because ppl buy it, players fault.
Anet’s fault is not creating a similar thing in game for normal players so they can have the excuse infinite watchwork pick is for “convenience”simple as that
gold to gems.
__
I love this pick, I love the anet created it. And I’m not gonna feel bad for buying it. (with gold, btw).
I still don’t see why an exploiter should be immune from losing all progress but the honest players should not.
I’d be fine if dungeon leader kicked, instance closes but if dungeon leader leaves or disconnects, instance remains open.
Then while I would have to repeat the dungeon if I kicked the exploiter, the exploiter does too. Same with the jerk. Same with the person with the stupid rule.
But they don’t need immunity from being kicked. They shouldn’t get to keep their progress.
This is what I’d like to see, tbh.
they’re great while leveling alts, and allows them to create designs that would be impossible to ‘fit’ with other armours because of clipping.
however, yes. They should add some cool pieces that can be mixed and matched,
best to ask guildies to run it, or one of the guilds set up just for dungeon running. P3 can be killer on pugs (not that it’s so difficult..but yeah.)
another thing is, were you looking during peak times? or quiet times?
I was trying to find an answer to this, for an “endless owl tonic”, and from what I could find. (which was nothing.) I assume no, you probably can’t convert the mystery tonics, they have what they have.
Killstreak boosters you can at least now convert to something else with enchantment powders.
aye, true…..now.
Still a pretty bad booster… does ANYONE actually like that booster? XDWell, I like it now that I can change it to something else, like a gathering booster, or karma, or magic find.
I get one of those killstreak boosters now and say, “Hah! Watch me change it to something good.”
Would be better if it was just something good XD….. not here’s a booster..oh oh but roll again for the enchantment powders cause we know it sucks.

essences of luck, and skill scrolls….. are just so so insulting. (and why I will never pay cash for keys.)
I also hate getting mystery tonics ..if I could trade them,it’d be ok, but nooooo >.>
and killstreak boosters Y_Y, with their super annoying long name to delete ><’
Holy kitten, you have done ALOT. :O
How many hours have you played?
Do you have ANY other hobbies
Wow, just wow.
No game can really keep for those who game like it’s a full time job. May it is time to take a break? log in every 2 weeks to get your update, but go and doe something else, after a few months, come back and play all the content you’ve unlocked.
Or find something you enjoy.
Get all fractal weapon skins?
Collect all mini’s?
Collect all wardrobe skins?
Try role playing? nothing like role playing to teach you to make your own fun.
The idea of not having a downed state is terrifying. To just fall and have nothing to do but WP? How is that an improvement?
It’s til LEVEL 5
It’s hardly like they’re going through the whole game before they learn and get access to it.
that’s transmutation charges are for.
What is the point of getting the fully ascended gear?
For Pve Players, besides looking beautiful and the feeling that you did it, it serves no purpose. You will do just fine without ascended gear in the current state. maybe try harder in fracs.
In WoW for example you had to get the best gear because if you didn’t, then you couldn’t do the end game raids…
Im not saying WoW is better, It just gives you this sense of progression while right now Gw2 simply don’t.
You’ve come to a game that says “no necessary gear grind”…and want gear grind???? o0
Here is the silliness of this….
What if the new player doesn’t die before level 5? How does he know he got some new “ability”? Silly.
I assume there’s going to be an alert.
like
Congrats you are now level 5!
Things that have been unlocked at this level. Downstate.
and then an explanation of the down state.
This game isn’t designed for people who want the “old style” end game content. I thought that was clear way before launch. This game is designed for people who don’t.
This.
There’s only ever going to be looks, & LS, they may eventually bring in another dungeon but thats unlikely.
I do hope WvW gets some map changes, but other than that. This game’s endgame, starts at level 2.
What that means is, ..you make your own.
probably return her the gems, maybe she should send a ticket in?
not for new players, til they unlock it at level 22, then it will be unlocked on all alts.
til level 5, dont think thats a big deal tbh
Unless you looked outside of the game, I don’t even remember rallying being explained in-game.
It’s not.
I reached level 60 before I fully understood the down state. I never played a game with it. (or anything like GW2.)
I never felt I had time to read the downstate skills, I used to cycle through them and try healing..
It was reading the forums and guildmates, who taught me what I was meant to do.
And I know to many players that’s like “how dumb do you have to be”. But not every players has a gaming background and what they do, could be totally different.
I didn’t know about traits until I happened upon the merchant and I thought “what’s this??” Click -buy~use….“OHHH”.
The fact is, anet knows the numbers, clearly they thought that there was enough players who don’t know how to play…or didn’t learn about it when they should, there’s enough that it made sense for anet to put the time into changing things.
Follow up question: What use is it to make a blog post that only really affects people who don’t yet play the game?
Hi Puddles,
First of all, we at ArenaNet very much appreciate the support that all players that have played the game for so long have given us. Without you guys, your love of the game and how you spread the word around you, things would clearly not be the same.
Today’s blogpost about the New Player Experience will not have as many visible effects to you specifically as it would have for a brand new player, that knows very little about the game. The new direction system should help you get a clearer and more useful top-tight UI, but also give your new characters better rewards.
As you noted, it is mainly targeted at new players, those that need it the most. We want their learning experience to be better so that they, too, can become veteran players of Guild Wars 2 one day! Learning to play a brand new game, and MMOs tend to be more on the more complex side of videogames, can be a daunting and hard task.
We want more people to be able to walk this path you walked and this is why we implemented the New Player Experience system, to create a route that new players can walk and feel rewarded along the way.
Again, thanks for your support!
I would’ve appreciated this, when I started tbh.
GW2 was the first mmo I ever played and I was so TOTALLY lost. If it hadn’t been for a friend to pick it up after. I wouldn’t have come back to it.
Once I started to get into the game and understand it..
I used google, asked friends and guildies alot of annoying questions lol.
It would’ve been much better to have some tips and explanations while leveling, and the story journal being smoother /chapter based is good too.
I think this is excellent for newer players.
You can – it is in options in game.
no you can’t
You can’t tone down particle effects,
Oh, really?
I have EVERYTHING on lowest/none when in zergs.
I still see for too many people, and nothing but particles. So no, it’s not there. but thanks for shutting us down.
it’s not something they’re gonna change now.
They may do so if they decide to create legendary armour.
(which IF they go that route..I don’t really want them to, hopefully ascended will be the precursor. Maybe more of combine armour piece + 3 other items in MF to make legendary peice.)
there are some sigil types that can’t be crafted, their high tp price tends to reflect that
you expected different?
Most outfits aren’t made with charr or asura in mind.Check the asian look outfit with boob holes on a charr female, looks dreadful, they didn’t change that.
The latest armor/outfit additions always had a hole for the charrtails. Some of them even have special decorations for the tail

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/4c/Mad_King%27s_Outfit_charr_both_front.jpg
I was talking about the breast holes for the female cleavage on a female charr ……………..
The female outfit on a charr was a disgrace. MANY people asked for the option to have the male outfit on both female & male charrs. As it was MUCH better.
You can – it is in options in game.
no you can’t
You can’t tone down particle effects,
Ok, I should have used another phrase.
‘Playing in small (1 to 5) parties doesn’t have the same feel(ing) I got from Season One events. Not really very “epic”, I suppose.’
Season Two just doesn’t have the same ‘feel’ to it, as Season One. Season Two is more like PS, and PS wasn’t that alluring to me. Lol, I haven’t even finished it once, yet. But, more, I think, is the change in mechanics. I’m probably the only person that misses Season One in that way, though, so I don’t expect any changes. =)
Not the only one, read my post :P.
Season 2 doesn’t have the same epic, mass army battle feel. .
but I do understand most people prefer to the main here and not part of an army.
